A third World War is already underway between Islamic militancy and the West but most people do not realize it, the former head of Israel’s intelligence service Mossad said in an interview published Saturday in Portugal. ‘We are in the midst of a third World War,’ former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy told weekly newspaper Expresso.
‘The world does not understand. A person walks through the streets of Tel Aviv, Barcelona or Buenos Aires and doesn’t get the sense that there is a war going on,’ said Halevy who headed Mossad between 1998 and 2003. ‘During World War I and II the entire world felt there was a war. Today no one is conscious of it. From time to time there is a terrorist attack in Madrid, London and New York and then everything stays the same.’
Violence by Islamic militants has already disrupted international travel and trade just as in the previous two world conflicts, he said.
Halevy, who was raised in war-time London, predicted it would take at least 25 years before the battle against Islamic fundamentalist terrorism is won and during this time a nuclear strike by Islamic militants was likely.
No its not just you, the war started in 1979 with the invasion of the US Embassy and has continued ever since, if I am reading the current world situation correctly the fighting will increase by several orders of magnitude in the next few months. The West will finally wake up and fight, they after a few victories we will go back to sleep and the Moslems will attack again.

The aftereffects of 9/11 will continue for a long time yet. Bush set the parameters, predicted a 50 year war, and Obama has no option but to continue that course.
The problem for our military after 9/11 was that 9/11 was the work of individuals, and not state actors. Our military though is structured to destroy states, not individuals.
Now it was obvious that a majority of Muslims were elated by the humiliation of the US. The question for the US was how to respond to such hatred. One way is to destroy reasonable ME dictatorships that were pro-Western, in favour of Islamist states that reflected the will of Muslims.
In the fullness of time, as the above strategy comes to a fruition – Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria, Iran, Turkey becoming wholly Islamic and proto-caliphate- this war will become a war against a group of allied nations, much like the Warsaw pact. In this situation our military will have the geo-strategic field they relish.
DP you are right, but you will never convince me that Obama and the far left mentors of his meant for this to happen, they are busy trying to destroy Western Civilization, not provide the tool that will allow its survival. Of course underestimating the stupidity of the left is hard to do so they may not realize what they are doing.
Meanwhile goverments around the world are disarming the people (just as hitler did) and soon we will have nothing to fight back with and the PC will be screaming through their slashed throats
The politicians who are disarming the public are the ones who want to become dictators.
