So why is wikileaks still online?

  1. Because Wikileaks is hosted outside the US and their approach is really dumb. Doing it with a server in the US is relatively easy. To block Wikileaks, they could do what Pakistan did recently to YouTube or Facebook or whatever, and hijack their IP address. But that depends on the cooperation of name servers. So it may not work in all cases.

    It also assumes they really want to take it sown.

  2. Wikileaks is still on line because they are using sophisticated techniques to avoid being shut down and they have also moved their sites several times over the last few days.

    The question about why the US government are allowing them to be online could be rephrased “Why are the Military allowing the humiliation of the Politically correct fuckwitts who are elected to protect the people but are only interested in their own money and power stream being kept online regardless of the long term security implications to the population said fuckwitts were elected to represent.

    Answer is in the question.

    I suspect the people in the military/security services saw this was happening and assessed that it was in the longterm best interests of the people they risk their lives to protect.

    Yeak the politicos are getting roasted but you will notice the military were hung out to dry on the Afghan and Iraq Wikileaks. Yet it is only now the politicos are targeted that it is a criminal offense.

    WE needed to clear the air and get the information to the people. Who are the enemy, who are our friends, what are the threats, who are the liars, who are the problems of the future, what are we planning.

    Publish the information they say it is propoganda. Allow it to be stolen by lefty fucktards and it is considered genuine.

  4. Very interesting thoughts, 2Mac. It must be coronary-artery-cloggingly frustrating to be a General, who actually knows what’s going on (you know, like Lewis McKenzie or Stan McChrystal or (col.) Allen West ) and to have to go along with the utter schizophrenia of the politically correct narrative. Imagine having to follow those Monty Python rules of engagement? Imagine, there’s a Taliban lying there with his lower body literally blown away, a Canadian soldier puts him out of his misery, and the Canadian is court martialed? Imagine how a soldier would feel about the Fort Hood Massacre. Even though Colonel Hassan was pretty much wearing a flashing, “I am a terrorist” t-shirt, the God Damn narrative of the political classes allowed him, with a loaded gun in his hand, to walk right into the center of the hive and start shooting. How would you like to be a soldier and not really know if you can trust the guy standing next to you? If I were one of those generals who actually knew what was going on, I might be just fine with these Wikileaks. This whole thing from 9/11 onward is just slowly floating along on one great big stinking river of bullshit, and maybe some truth, which ever way it hits, is the thing that is needed to get things moving and clean again. “Islam is a religion of peace”. Remember those words at the State Of The Union Speech? Well, it’s all been slowly floating down the disgusting river ever since then. Who knows. Maybe that guy knew what he was talking about when he said that the truth will set you free. Nah…what would He know?

  5. The best I have heard is that Obama wants the leaks to continue since most of the mud is hitting Hillary, he is allowing the leaks to continue so he won’t face her in the 2012 Primaries. Other then that Obama doesn’t like the US and wants to see us damaged and weakened, this is one way that it is happening.

    Another interesting angle. Plausible enough…might be true. I thought, after the Fort Hood incident, that, if I were a US soldier, I might just be thinking about the “M” word right about now. I mean, weren’t General McChrystal’s words a tad mutinous? What I’m trying to say is that if I were a US soldier, going into combat, and I thought that the government was somehow on the other side, there is really no telling what I might do. Leak some stuff to make the politicians look bad, as 2Mac suggests? Yeah, I might do that. I might do darn near anything. I’m sure Assange is a very bad man, indeed, but you’ve got to admit, this is very interesting. I wouldn’t want to see this stopped tomorrow, God help me. Hell, I wish they’d leak everything. Once again, God help me.

  8. When I was serving it would have been unlikely that it was military personal doing the leaking, given that one upset gay soldier is suppose to have leaked the entire mess it is possible. But leftist politicians or bureaucrats are more likely, Obama hasn’t pulled us out of Iraq and Afghanistan the left would do this to get even. And Obama would take advantage to remove Hillary as a possible opponent in 2012. In situations like this look at all possibilities and then pray you pick the right one, at least we have the advantage that we can take our time and no one will die if we choose wrong.
