Arrested for what? While I don’t like seeing books burned–it hearkens back to Hitler to me–I have seen people burn American flags at various rallies, with no arrests…. The American government burned Bibles in Afghanistan to keep them from being distributed and “insulting” Muslims. This guy gets arrested? I don’t get it.
Why doesn’t US leadership say that however awful book burning is, it’s protected by our Constitutional right to free expression. Period.

Burning a book, any book, is not illegal in the United States at least it wasn’t until this afternoon when the authorities decided to implement sharia law.
Because by expecting US as Americans to abide by their will and obey their demands for appeasement when we hear things like Don’t Burn the Koran OR ELSE , or the Mosque MUST be built at Ground Zero OR ELSE. This is the imposition of their sharia law upon us as nonMuslims and expecting us to follow it! It is cultural imperialism and he is protesting the (evidently now it’s an entitlement) to impose Sharia Law upon American (nonmuslims) !!!

While I’m not in favor of book-burning, I agree with this guy! moslems (I won’t use a capital letter or the “proper” spelling because they’re such little people) burn churches with bibles and Christians still in them, murder our innocents, torture and behead our soldiers but WE can’t burn their precious, hate-filled koran? Time they learned that they are not the only ones who can play that game! They need to forced to realize that they are not special, that they have no rights superior to those of others, that there are no special treatment for them. Correct me if I’m wrong, but, when Hitler burned books,it was to get rid of some books entirley, right? Destroy any other point of view, right?–If so, someone emburning a Koran here and there to make a point does not even belong in the conversation with what Hitler did. There is no comparison.

Thats how I see it. Its also why it is not comparable to the Nazi book burnings which everyone hearkens to when this issue comes up. A false analogy in every way. The burning of the Koran is a symbolic act of rebellion against totalitarians who would tell us what we must do and not do in accordance with their imposed values. The Nazis burned Jewish books which they stole by looting book stores and houses of worship in order to establish that they would eradicate all things Jewish from the earth.
