I think its ignorance.
They believe Islam is subject to interpretation, which it is not. They believe in the taqiyya doublespeak, which so lightly comes from a Muslims mouth, (to you your religion and to me mine) and they did not research the fact that the later verses abrogate the earlier, peaceful ones.
the priest being interviewed is not stupid and he’s not lying. he’s asked “…in your mind?”, so he’s speaking his own mind, and begins his answer with “as an american”, so that’s a different mindset. and after speaking about freedom of conscience, again as an ideal he holds, he expresses his wishes that these same notions and principles start to get applied in countries who are a part of the UN, which means that he is quite aware that is not the case in many parts of the world.
it’s the second interviewee who is just parroting ignorant PC wishful thinking by talking about “interpretation”.
you can not convert to the Roman Catholic faith or any other faith if you are “a Muslim born and raised in Mecca”, a citizen of the KSA. There aren’t even any religious institutions other than Islamic ones allowed there. No churches allowed. No synagogues. You can’t legally preach the gospel there. When you enter the kingdom as a foreigner, you’re searched and all bibles are confiscated. Can it be more blatant than that?
as a person who has grown up in that very country, with the good days and the bad, i just feel so betrayed when people who are enjoying the comforts of the free world they inhabit knowingly turn a blind eye on the realities of people who are living in more oppressive societies. i’m not expecting anyone to poke their nose in anyone else’s internal affairs (which is an accusation i get often from some defensive people) but at least don’t go so far as to sugarcoat the situation. tell it as it is, or don’t tell a thing.
Islam in most of those so-called Islamic’ paradise’ nations is not a choice but a must to survive, all others are second class citizens and subject to all types of abuse from mild to harsh. All of the PC apologist jawboning and butt kissing will never change a damned thing.
I believe this is how most people view Islam to be which is some kind of continuation of Christianity.
so the next question is, “who are the muslim “scholars” who say it is okay to leave the death cult and become a Christian and you will not be murdered?”

christians in europe and muslims worldwide desperately need a leader who can show them the way out of the houses of bondage in which they dwell: multiculturalism and islam.

Area sources said al Shabaab militants entered the house of Osman Abdullah Fataho in Afgoi, 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Mogadishu in Shibis district, at 10:30 the night of July 21 and shot him dead in front of his wife and children.

FAROOQABAD, Pakistan, August 16 (CDN) — The vulnerability of Christian girls to sexual assault in Pakistani society emerged again last month as a Muslim landowner allegedly targeted a 16-year-old and a gang ofmadrassa (Islamic school) students allegedly abused a 12-year-old in Punjab Province.
All this and much more barbaric torture and murder of Christians is ongoing, and yet all we hear is that a pastor is threatening to burn a few korans.
Do they understand anything at all about the Allah? Have they read of his hateful statements? Do they understand that Jesus isn’t just a prophet to Muslims, He is a Muslim who believes what Muslims believe? And that when Jesus returns he will fight the Christians? They must know that Jesus said He is the Way the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Him. Knowing that, how can they say that Islam is just another way to God? If it is, why don’t they become Muslims?
All excellent questions Paula. I could add a few. Like the Koran says that Jesus was not even crucified and by the way, thee is not one woman mentioned in Koran by name except Mary and that is just to say that she is not the mother of god. So how can Catholic’s in good conscience or even intellectual honesty say these things.
