3. Ottawa Attack Is Canada’s Fault Says Leading Muslim Journalist

Afghan-Canadian journalist Nelofer Pazira has told the Independent that yesterday’s attack in Ottawa happened because the country’s Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper “pushed Canada into joining the US-led war in the Middle East”.

She claimed that the country had “become divided” when the government put a group of Muslims on a watch list, and suggested the running over of a soldier earlier this week was in retaliation.

Paziri said: “Harper’s pro-American policies appear to have turned Canada – and indeed the seat of political power in the capital Ottawa – into a target. Now Canadians will not only be worried about travelling to Europe, America or the Middle East – but wondering if they’re even safe inside their own homes.”

  1. #2 This is the start of the chaos that will destroy the EU.

#3 Typical, resisting the Islamic conquest causes violence.

#4 And these are two real big Obama supporting states.

#6 It is nice to see the pros saying what we all knew already.

#7 If Obama wasn’t in charge the US would be there also, unfortunately we have put a fox to guarding the hen house.

  2. It still baffles me why Le Pen is always referred to as “extreme right wing” when she’s evidently about as hard left as it’s possible to get. Her economic policies make Hollande’s look relatively normal.

    • She is a racist, and the left has to tar all racists as being on the right, they think we are to dumb to know the difference.

  3. 1/ The title of the post is a big improvement on the article’s headline.

It doesn’t take much googling around to connect leftist career meddler Chris Lewa of the Arakan Project with the usual suspects, Al Jazeera, CBC, George Soros’ Open Society Institute/Foundation, HRW, UNHCR etc. etc.

Ottawa, October 24, 2014 — The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister for Multiculturalism, issued the following statement condemning the act of vandalism against the Cold Lake Mosque:

“Earlier today vandals spray painted the Cold Lake Mosque in Cold Lake, Alberta with hate messages. This cowardly act is unacceptable and has no place in Canada.

“Canada is a strong, peaceful, pluralistic nation, and Canadians will not stand for crimes of intolerance and bigotry against anyone.

“As Minister for Multiculturalism, I call on Canadians to firmly reject this and any other cowardly expressions of hatred against Canadians of any faith.”

  5. UK – Football fan who ripped up Koran faces being first woman banned from every ground

Middlesbrough fan Julie Phillips was convicted of a religiously aggravated public order offence after the incident at a Birmingham City match in December

A football fan who ripped up the holy Koran to use as “confetti” at a match faces becoming the first woman to be banned from every ground.

Middlesbrough fan Julie Phillips, 51, was convicted of a religiously aggravated public order offence after the incident at a Birmingham City match in December.

’Boro barred her from their Riverside Stadium and Cleveland Police now want her banned from every ground in England and Wales.

Police claim she has caused or contributed to “numerous acts of disorder on various dates”.

Phillips was convicted in May of the public order offence and fined £300.

A steward told magistrates he heard chants about Muslims and the Koran as the book was passed around away fans to tear up pages.

Phillips, who had been drinking, said she had been “making confetti” and only found out it was the Koran when quizzed by police.

But magistrates said there had been “a degree of pre-planning” and Phillips’ behaviour was “abusive and insulting”.

Council worker Phillips later said she felt “ashamed”. A banning application hearing is due on November 6,

After the incident, more than 100 Boro fans from the Red Faction group staged an anti-racism march.

  6. NIGERIA – Baby born holding unto the koran in Ibadan

A baby now named Ismail was born yesterday holding a miniature version of the koran in it hands in Ibadan.

According to Nigerian Tribune, the mother of the child had thrown away the item which she thought was black magic only to later discover it’s the koran.

An Islamic scholar who visited the parents said it’s a sign from Allah, nothing that the book which was wrapped with thread contained all the 114 chapters of the Koran.

  7. 6/ The Jihad Watch post ‘U.S. counter-terrorism strategy is based on politically correct fictions, and is getting people killed,’ links to a Patrick Poole article about a recent report critical of Obama’s disastrous Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) narrative.

According to the report, ‘the administration’s head cheerleader for this “good Islamist/bad Islamist” approach has been Quintan Wiktorowicz, who served as senior director of the National Security Council under Obama.’

Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch writes up this obscure but influential figure (‘best known for his unproven theory that increased religiosity actually deters terrorism’) here:

    http://www.globalmbwatch.com/2013/05/28/white-house-official-brought-cair-england-college-professor-architect-counter-extremism-strategy/

‘Dr. Wiktorowicz displays an astonishing lack of understanding of the nature of the Global Muslim Brotherhood…’ He sounds like just the man for the job.

‘Given the background of Dr. Wiktorowicz, it is most likely that bringing individuals into the DHS Advisory Committee who are tied to the US Muslim Brotherhood was a conscious decision on the part of the Obama administration as opposed to the Muslim Brotherhood “infiltration” hypothesis currently circulating in the blogosphere….’

  8. Syrians to be trained to defend territory, not take ground from jihadists, officials say

The Syrian opposition force to be recruited by the U.S. military and its coalition partners will be trained to defend territory, rather than to seize it back from the Islamic State, according to senior U.S. and allied officials, some of whom are concerned that the approach is flawed.

Although moderate Syrian fighters are deemed essential to defeating the Islamic State under the Obama administration’s strategy, officials do not believe the newly assembled units will be capable of capturing key towns from militants without the help of forward-deployed U.S. combat teams, which President Obama has so far ruled out. The Syrian rebel force will be tasked instead with trying to prevent the Islamic State from extending its reach beyond the large stretches of territory it already controls.

[…]The Obama administration’s plan calls for U.S. Special Operations troops to recruit moderate Syrian opponents of the Islamic State from refugee communities in Jordan, Turkey and other nations. They will be flown to Saudi Arabia, trained for about eight weeks, and then sent into the small enclaves of Syria already controlled by the Free Syrian Army and other moderate opponents of the Islamic State. The first units are expected to be deployed in roughly six months.

    • President Sisi says jihadists threaten Egypt’s existence (BBC, Oct 25, 2014)
      http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-29771099

“Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi says the country is facing a threat to its existence from jihadists after the military suffered the biggest loss of life in decades in attacks in Sinai.

At least 31 soldiers were killed in two attacks on Friday, the deadliest a bomb blast near the town of El-Arish.

A three-month state of emergency has been declared in parts of the Sinai Peninsula and Egypt’s Rafah crossing into the Gaza Strip was closed.

There will be three days of mourning.

In a live TV address, Mr Sisi said a huge plot was being waged against Egypt “by external forces”.

“This is meant to break up Egypt and the Egyptians …. Egypt is fighting a war of existence.”

No group has said it carried out the attacks, which came as the army continued an offensive against jihadists in northern Sinai.

The area has become increasingly lawless since President Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in 2011.

Militants have stepped up attacks since Islamist President Mohammed Morsi was ousted by the army last year amid massive opposition protests….”

  9. Fourth Portsmouth man Mehdi Hassan killed in Syria (BBC, Oct 25, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-29771293

“A fourth man from Portsmouth who went to fight in Syria for Islamic State (IS) is believed to have been killed.

Mehdi Hassan, 19, travelled to the country with a group of four other men in October 2013.

A photo of his body emerged on Twitter on Friday and his family confirmed earlier to their local mosque they had received news of his death.

Iftekar Jaman, Mamunur Roshid and Hamidur Rahman have previously been killed in the fighting.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said it had not received any reports about Mr Hassan’s death but was “aware of reports about the death of a British national in Syria”.

Chairman of the Portsmouth Jami Mosque, Abdul Jalil, said: “It has been confirmed with the family that he has died. Right now they are very upset.

“I am saddened and again shocked for the community about this news.”

It is thought he died in Kobane.

A family friend, who did not want to be named, told the BBC: “Mehdi Hassan was a polite well mannered boy and always spoke to elders with respect. …”

“Kurdish forces in northern Iraq say they have recaptured the town of Zumar from Islamic State militants.

Further south, Iraqi security forces say they are pushing back IS in Jurf al-Sakhar near Baghdad, in a battle to secure a route used by Shia pilgrims.

Meanwhile the US military said US-led forces made 22 air strikes against IS in Iraq on Friday and Saturday.

IS has seized large swathes of Iraq and Syria since June, prompting air strikes to help ground forces stem the advance.

In Lebanon, several people were killed and wounded as troops clashed with Sunni militants thought to be linked to IS in the centre of the second city, Tripoli….”

  11. Ebola outbreak: Cases pass 10,000, WHO reports (BBC, Oct 25, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-29769782

“The number of cases in the Ebola outbreak has exceeded 10,000, with 4,922 deaths, the World Health Organization says in its latest report.

Only 27 of the cases have occurred outside the three worst-hit countries, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.

Those three countries account for all but 10 of the fatalities.

Mali became the latest nation to record a death, a two-year-old girl. More than 40 people known to have come into contact with her have been quarantined.

The latest WHO situation report says that Liberia remains the worst affected country, with 2,705 deaths. Sierra Leone has had 1,281 fatalities and there have been 926 in Guinea.

Nigeria has recorded eight deaths and there has been one in Mali and one in the United States.

The WHO said the number of cases was now 10,141 but that the figure could be much higher, as many families were keeping relatives at home rather than taking them to treatment centres. It said many of the centres were overcrowded….”

Migrant Domestic Workers Beaten, Exploited, Trapped in United Arab Emirates: HRW (ria, Oct 23, 2014)
    http://en.ria.ru/society/20141023/194470034/Migrant-Domestic-Workers-Beaten-Exploited-Trapped-in-United-Arab.html

“Migrant domestic workers in the United Arab Emirates are physically abused and exploited amid subjection to unfavorable work conditions, a statement published on the website of Human Rights Watch (HRW) Thursday said.

“Migrant domestic workers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are beaten, exploited, and trapped in forced labor situations. The UAE government, about to take up an influential new role in the International Labour Organization (ILO), has failed to adequately protect female domestic workers – many of them from the Philippines – from abuse by employers and recruiters,” the statement said.

According to the organization, the UAE’s visa sponsorship system, known as kafala, and absence of labor law safeguards have played their role in the abuse that migrant domestic workers, mostly from Asia and Africa, experienced. The contractual obligations, the organization noted, were such that left migrants little to no opportunity to change their jobs.

“The UAE’s sponsorship system chains domestic workers to their employers and then leaves them isolated and at risk of abuse behind the closed doors of private homes. With no labor law protections for domestic workers, employers can, and many do, overwork, underpay, and abuse these women,” HRW Middle East women’s rights researcher said in the statement.

Although the UAE made some revisions this June to the standard domestic worker labor contract, it still bypasses the number of hours that migrants have to work, HRW noted.

The organization also stated that migrants were forced to abuse even when they approached their recruitment agencies to get help.”

All Westerners will feel safe in their homes, once Muslims are repatriated back to Muslim lands, where they can practice their religion in freedom.

“Detailed plans to kidnap a prison officer in a bid to escape from the Isle of Wight Prison, were found in the cell of a Muslim inmate.

An internal Prison Service document, seen by the BBC, reveals an Islamic State, or ISIS, flag was also found in the cell at the jail’s Parkhurst site.

The prisoner was placed in the jail’s close supervision unit.
