This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    On Thursday, the New York City Banking Commission, which consists of Comptroller Brad Lander, Mayor Adams, and Commissioner Preston Niblack of the Department of Finance, has taken action against two major financial institutions, Capital One and KeyBank.

    The Commission decided to limit deposits at the banks after they failed to submit the required plans demonstrating their commitment to combating discrimination.

    Capital One, with $7.2 million in City deposits across 108 accounts, and KeyBank, with $10 million in City deposits across three accounts, refused to submit the required policies, leading to the decision to freeze new deposits for up to two years.

    Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez held a town hall meeting on Friday night in the Corona neighborhood of Queens.

    The town hall meeting turned into a chaotic scene as fed-up New Yorkers expressed their frustration with Democrat policies such as the border crisis, debt ceiling, billions in military aid to Ukraine, and other issues.

    New Yorkers disrupted the event, heckling and booing the congresswoman, and while some supported the far-left congressman.

    One fed-up man shouted, “American citizens before migrants” as he approached the congresswoman while carrying American flags, as seen on Freedom News TV.

    The disruption caused AOC’s supporters to boo as security personnel escorted the man away from the event.

    AOC shrugged it off and said, “OK,” as the man was escorted out.

    Throughout the town hall, there were chants of “America First” from a group of fed-up New Yorkers, and AOC’s supporters booed back, further contributing to the contentious atmosphere.

    In another interruption, a protester said, “We are on the verge of nuclear war with Russia!” Their statement drew both surprise and disapproval from the crowd, resulting in further booing and frustration. Security personnel promptly escorted the woman out after multiple disruptions.

    Bud Light and its parent company Anheuser-Busch are sponsoring at least three different upcoming Pride events despite backlash over the partnership with Dylan Mulvaney, a social media influencer who identifies as transgender.

    Bud Light is listed as a sponsor on the Cincinnati Pride Parade website. Planned Parenthood and the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, which medically transitions minors, are both also listed.

    Meanwhile, in St. Louis, Missouri, where Anheuser-Busch is headquartered, the company is listed as the presenting sponsor of the St. Louis Pride Parade. A sponsorship packet explains that there are only four “presenting sponsor” slots available. The “Rainbow” sponsorship tier, located below the “presenting sponsor” tier, requires entities to pay $25,000.

    Bud Light is also listed as a “Diamond Sponsor” of Stonewall Columbus, which organizes and hosts the annual Columbus, Ohio, Pride Parade.       Number of Covid-19 deaths under age 50 without comorbidities? Zero.

      According to the Israeli Ministry Of Health

      A recent Freedom Of Information Act request published recently reveals that 0 (zero) people died from Covid-19 under age 50 without comorbidities, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis in Israel. (Attached is the document in Hebrew)

      Another bewildering item is that the Israeli Ministry Of Health does not have information on cardiac arrest cases for 2021-2022.

      Ori Shabi, Esq. published the official FOIA response today (May 22, 2023). Article 4 of the request:

      How many Covid-19 patients died without comorbidities under the age of 50.

      The Israeli Ministry Of Health’s response is:

      Article 4 – There were 0 cases of death at ages 18-49 without comorbidities, out of all Covid-19 death cases where an epidemiological investigation was performed and included comorbidity information. Please note that the information available to the Ministry is incomplete and based on information provided by the patients or their families during an epidemiological investigation if such an investigation occurred and the family chose to share the information. Therefore, the available information does not necessarily reflect the health status of the patient. The Ministry Of Health does not have access to patients’ full personal health information.

      Note that information regarding comorbidities of deceased Covid-19 patients ages 0-17 has already been released under court appeal #18170-02-23.

      The above mentioned court appeal refers to a similar FOIA request regarding children ages 0-18. The request was unanswered, taken to court, and only then came the answer – one child had died from Covid-19 without known comorbidities in Israel (during 3 years with a pop. of approx. 3 million children ages 0-18). There were 18 additional death cases where serious / chronic comorbidities were recorded.

      Article 5 –

      How many cardiac arrest cases occurred in Israel for each year between 2018-2022 ?

      The Ministry’s response is:

      See below the data on cardiac arrest cases in 2018-2020. The Ministry of Health does not have any information on cardiac arrest cases in 2021-2022. Registry of the cause of death is handled by the Central Bureau of Statistics according to the death notice and then sent to the MOH. Data for 2021-2022 have not been received yet.

      It appears that the Israeli MOH is not monitoring cardiac arrest cases, despite strong evidence of a significant rise in cardiac events with correlation to the vaccine campaign.

      On May 25, 2023 the MOH published a clarification on its official Twitter account. To summarize the data:

      356 young people (ages 18-49) have died from Covid-19. Of these, only about half have documentation for an epidemiological investigation (184 deceased) And only 7.5% (27 deceased) had an answer to the question about underlying diseases.

      Blockbuster Report: ZERO Young Healthy People Died from Covid, According to Israeli Ministry of Health Study

      The Israel Ministry of Health (MOH) responded to a formal request from attorney Ori Xabi, stating that there were zero deaths among individuals aged 18-49 with no underlying health conditions.

      “Zero deceased of 18–49 years of age with no underlying morbidities,” the Israel Ministry of Health (MOH) said in response to a formal request from an attorney.

      Xabi had filed a freedom of information request to obtain information on the average age of COVID-19 deaths segmented by vaccination status, deaths of individuals under 50 without underlying health conditions, and the number of cardiac arrest cases between 2018 and 2022. The MOH did not provide any additional comments regarding the data.

      Yoav Yehezkelli, a specialist in internal medicine and medical management, emphasized that the number zero is indisputable and questions the necessity of extreme measures such as school closures, vaccinating children, and lockdowns.

      “Zero is a very, very clear number, and cannot be subject to interpretation,” Yoav Yehezkelli, a specialist in internal medicine and medical management, and former lecturer in the Department of Emergency and Disaster Management at Tel Aviv University in Israel, told The Epoch Times.

      “Why were all the extreme measures of school closures, vaccination of children, and lockdowns needed?” he added.

      The MOH’s response revealed that the average age of vaccinated COVID-19 patients who died was 80.2 years, while the average age for the unvaccinated was 77.4 years. It also noted that the available data on underlying diseases is limited and relies on information provided by patients or their relatives, based on epidemiological investigations.

      The MOH’s response raises questions as it contradicts previous statements about having access to comprehensive data on deceased patients, including underlying diseases. It justified measures like vaccinating pregnant women and young people by claiming they were also at risk, but the data now indicates otherwise.

      Yehezkelli stated that the MOH’s false presentation of the dangers of COVID-19 has eroded public trust and highlighted the disease’s predominantly elderly impact.

      Regarding cardiac arrest data, the MOH provided information for 2018 to 2020 but stated that data for 2021 and 2022 were not yet available. A study analyzing emergency medical services calls in Israel indicated a 25 percent increase in cardiac arrest cases among 16- to 39-year-olds between January and May 2021, coinciding with the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

      The MOH denied any connection between the study’s findings and the COVID-19 vaccines, despite attacking the study and the researchers. The MOH claimed that they possess limited information based on cases with epidemiological investigations and responses regarding underlying diseases.

      An ongoing administrative appeal by Xabi and colleagues has compelled the MOH to commit to publishing comprehensive mortality data segmented by vaccination status and age by the end of the month. The appeal follows a previous FOI request that went unanswered, and subsequent data provided by the MOH has been incomplete.

      The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has repeatedly granted ‘Emergency Use Authorization’ for Covid vaccinations for children as young as five years old.

      Since the beginning of the Covid pandemic, there have been a reported 1,822 children who have died with Covid. This is a mortality rate of 0.002%.

      Additionally, 95% of these children have serious underlying health conditions, making the mortality rate for healthy children 0.0001%. Covid has never presented a higher risk to children than that of the seasonal flu.

      The Ukrainian intelligence service says that they are attempting to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin.

      The deputy head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, said this to German newspaper Welt.

      “Putin is noticing that we are getting closer and closer to him, but he is also afraid of being killed by his own people,” he said.

      When asked about the head of the Wagner Group, Zkibitsky said, “We are trying to kill him.”

      Well now that we’re clear, we can at least stop pretending who attacked the Kremlin earlier this month.

      The New York Times now reports that the attack was done by “one of Ukraine’s special military or intelligence units, the latest in a series of covert actions against Russian targets that have unnerved the Biden administration.””

      The U.S. has not presumed to go this far and President Biden earlier this week said that Ukrainian Present Zelensky promised him that Ukraine would not attack inside of Russia’s borders.

      It wasn’t a pinky promise though. It was more like what Mary Poppins would call a “pie crust promise: easily made, easily broken.”

    Last year Chicago Public Schools chief Pedro Martinez called for state and federal regulators to mandate the Covid vaccine before kids could enroll. He has no issue with illegals enrolling with 0 vaccines.

    When we first happened upon the below clip of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaking in a town hall event at the University of Winnipeg earlier in the week, we thought it must be parody footage. After all, what rational and serious individual can say with a straight face “2SLGBTQI+”…?

    But the sad reality is that woke discourse in Canada as the only allowable public standard has long gone far beyond Portlandia levels of parody.

    Trudeau, ironically enough, was lambasting the ongoing pushback against Bud Light and other corporations for their so brazenly pushing trans dogma in ad campaigns.

    Trudeau said, “It’s scary to see what’s happening in the United States. Whether it’s 2SLGBTQI+ rights that are being constantly attacked… my government will never let that happen.”

    How many times did Trudeau have to practice this confusing tongue-twisting acronym in the mirror in order to say it in public?

Of course, we might add that this signals the Canadian people are soon to get bombarded with ever growing and long-winded 2SLGBTQI+ “explanations” for this expanding alphabet soup/Skittles list of acronyms and state-sanctioned terminology:

    A string of interconnected civil suits has been raging in New York Federal Court, pitting Epstein trafficking victims against JPMorgan Chase and Deutsch bank, as well as the US Virgin Islands territory against the very same banks.

    The victims’ case against the banks is looking strong, if the latest Judge rulings are to be taken as parameter (link). So much, so, that Deutsch bank has settled a few days ago with the Epstein victim plaintiffs to the tune of US$75 million.

    JPMorgan is also preemptively suing its former top executive Jes Staley, to have him reimburse any damages they may face – which at this point seems a likely scenario.

    But on the USVI suit, the situation is not so clear-cut: JPMorgan Chase has just filed a fiery ‘Opposition to an USVI motion to strike’ their ‘affirmative defenses’.

    It’s a legal filing attempting to demonstrate that there’s plenty of blame to go around when it comes to the government of the US Virgin Islands territory’s mishandling of (and complicity with) Jeffrey Epstein.

    The bank legal team argues that these facts disqualify the territory from seeking damages in civil court.

    In the process, the filing sheds light in some jaw-dropping and disturbing realities about the link between the Jeffrey Epstein trafficking ring and the USVI government.

    The opening of the Judicial motion sets the tone:

    “Plaintiff Government of the United States Virgin Islands (“USVI”) is complicit in the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein could have lived anywhere in the world. He chose USVI. Discovery obtained in this case reveals why. For two decades, Epstein maintained a quid pro quo relationship with USVI’s highest ranking officials. He gave them money, advice, influence, and favors. In exchange, they shielded and even rewarded him, granting him more than $[redacted] million in tax incentives.”

    The banks motion further states that “the entity that most directly failed to protect public safety and most actively facilitated and benefited from Epstein’s continued criminal activity was the plaintiff in this case—the USVI government itself.’

    After getting out of jail in 2009, Epstein had the supervision of his parole transferred from Florida to the USVI territory, where he registered as a sex offender and maintained his ‘primary residence’ – putting him under USVI law enforcement’s direct jurisdiction and supervision.

    Epstein’s ‘Pedophile Island’ served as his ‘primary residence’ for legal purposes.
    The shady billionaire courted USVI officials with money and favors, and even funded and advised on the finances of the USVI government.

    “Epstein gave money to USVI politicians. For example, Epstein supported [Democrat] Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, who successfully ran to be USVI’s delegate to Congress—after working for the USVI Economic Development Authority, the USVI agency responsible for awarding Epstein his massive tax benefits.”

    The amount of tax benefits is redacted in the released version of the motion, but it’s the millions of dollars.

    Former USVI first lady Cecile de Jongh worked for Epstein, who paid for her children’s education.
    But according to the motion, ‘Epstein’s primary conduit for spreading money and influence throughout the USVI government was First Lady [Cecile] de Jongh’.

    “Despite her public role and official duties, First Lady de Jongh managed Epstein’s USVI-based companies from January 2007 to January 2015 — receiving from Epstein a salary, bonuses, and other benefits, including $200,000 in 2007 alone.

    […] Epstein paid her children’s tuition—i.e., the children of sitting Governor [John] de Jongh, including when he was the sitting USVI governor.”

    An excerpt from an email from First Lady de Jongh: “[USVI Governor] John and I have put money into the campaign based on what we thought was going to happen with the tuition payments.”).

    Epstein had “inside information about executive branch deliberative process on banking regulations related to International Banking Entities (“IBEs”).”

    In the described effort by USVI government officials to actively facilitate Epstein’s crimes, perhaps the most distressing is to see Cecilia de Jongh emailing Epstein the draft language for the proposed human trafficking bill.

    Lady de Jongh: “This is the suggested language; will it work for you?”

    Epstein: “We should add ‘out of country for more than 7 days’, otherwise I could not go for a day trip to Tortola, at the last minute. […] A list of who I stay with should violate my privacy. Restrict my business and livelihood.”

    Epstein was disappointed by the final legislation, so his employee/First Lady de Jongh offered comfort: ‘I know this was a horrible week and i am really sorry about how things panned out. […] However, all is not lost and we will figure something out by coming up with a game plan to get around these obstacles’.”

    Other salient point of the JPMorgan defense motion is that Epstein ‘could not freely transport and exploit young women without assistance from USVI government officials’.

    “Based on his government connections, when traveling through the USVI’s airport accompanied by young women as a registered sex offender, Epstein could count on his ‘great relationship’ with the officials there to avoid scrutiny or detection.”

    CBS News affiliate WOIO in Cleveland, Ohio, received an email at 12:26 p.m. Friday warning of bombs that had been placed in five different Target locations near the city. According to a screenshot of the email, which was published by the outlet, the threat was made in response to Target’s decision to remove its LGBTQ+ pride collection from its shelves earlier this week.

    The Texas House of Representatives impeached Attorney General Ken Paxton on Saturday by an overwhelming vote. Attorney General Paxton is immediately suspended from office as he awaits a trial in the Texas Senate.

    During a hearing on the floor of the Texas House, more than 81 percent of the members voted to impeach Attorney General Paxton on the 20 articles of impeachment filed by the House General Investigations Committee. The final vote was 121 ayes, 23 nays, two present not voting, and three abstentions.

  36. Stephen Harper thinks foreign interference is ‘far worse than we think’

    China’s political interference in Canada is pervasive, and likely goes well beyond what has already come to light, former prime minister Stephen Harper is warning, calling for an end to what he calls “naive globalism.”

    The Chinese government has sought to influence elections in Canada, channel money to curry political favour and seek vulnerabilities in politicians who have family living in China, according to secret intelligence documents reported by The Globe and Mail in recent months.

    But Mr. Harper said there is reason to think the full extent of Beijing’s encroachment on Canadian political life is more severe than what is already known.

    “I suspect it is far worse than we think,” he said Thursday, offering rare public remarks to an audience at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver at an event organized by the Fraser Institute. The Globe obtained an audio recording of his comments, which included a sweeping condemnation of Beijing and its conduct – and a warning about what China is seeking to achieve.

    “Let me tell you, the Chinese government has never had any restriction in its behaviour in terms of interfering in the Canadian political system,” Mr. Harper said. “They do so all the time, in all kinds of different ways.”

    Mr. Harper did not shed any new light on Beijing’s efforts in Canada, nor what he might have learned during his time as prime minister. He did not comment directly on the approach taken by his successor, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who entered office determined to pursue a new golden era with China, although his government has more recently called out Beijing’s “coercive behaviour” and flouting of international norms.

    Mr. Harper was more blunt in his assessment, calling China’s authoritarian leader a danger to democracies.

    “Xi Jinping is a much more long-term, serious threat than [Russian President Vladimir] Putin,” he said. Under Mr. Xi, Beijing wants “to create a new world order, a hub-and-spokes global economy where all authority is ultimately centred in Beijing,” he said.

    Were China to attain Western standards of lifestyle and output, he said, its size means it would be three times more powerful than the U.S. at the end of the Cold War.
    So Mr. Xi’s vision for his country is “not an idle ambition.”

    Early in his term as prime minister, Mr. Harper condemned China’s selling “out to the almighty dollar,” then skipped the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Summer Olympics. He subsequently pivoted to a more accommodating stand, making an official visit to Beijing in 2014. Since leaving office, he has travelled to both Taiwan and China. “They love me when I go there now,” he said of China.

    Even so, he said, a proper recognition of Chinese power and Beijing’s aspirations should drive a broader reconsideration of how Western democracies approach international affairs and foreign trade. In Mr. Harper’s lexicon, it should prompt a retreat from “naive globalism.” He recalled how, as prime minister, he received pressure from the corporate sector to mute his criticism of China’s human-rights record.

    But the deal to allow China into the World Trade Organization “was the worst commercial arrangement in the history of mankind,” he said. “It essentially has allowed the Chinese unfettered access to our markets,” with no reciprocal guarantees of access to China’s own enormous population of consumers.

    Western leaders, he said, should approach trade with China in the same way it has itself approached trade.

    “I don’t think we should allow an import into this country, or an investment, unless it is specifically approved – and unless we are sure we are getting something in return,” he said.
    And “we need to unite. Western countries need to act in concert.”

    Mr. Harper was critical of Canada’s current approach to global affairs and economic management.

    Canadian foreign policy has been too soft, he argued, built around an idea of “go along to get along. Just being friends with everybody at all costs is kind of the objective.” It would be better, he said, to see more “hard thinking” in the Canadian approach, one propelled by the country’s values and interests, which include both security and economic priorities.

    That economy, he added, has become deeply imbalanced, insufficiently productive and too focused on demand policy. “You can’t solve the problem of stagflation by manipulating interest rates or deficits,” he said. “You need serious supply reforms to kickstart growth and encourage entrepreneurialism.” His proposed solutions echoed those of Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, saying it is time to remove bureaucratic barriers to construction, housing, infrastructure and resource projects.

    “The kind of supply reforms you focus on are things that are going to attack – in this country – both bureaucratic and corporate, oligopolies, and monopolies that are holding back growth,” he said.

    Since leaving office, Mr. Harper has started a private consultancy, worked for Denton’s, the international law firm and taken advisory and oversight roles with companies in the venture capital and real estate sectors. He also created an activist investment fund alongside Courtney Mather, a protégé of financier Carl Icahn, Bloomberg News reported in 2021.

    Although little has since been said publicly about that fund, Mr. Harper said Thursday it is located in Florida. “Florida is booming,” he said, citing “low taxes, low regulation, lots of spending on police and falling rates of crime.”

    Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis formally launched his campaign this week to become the Republican presidential nominee, although Mr. Harper said he expects the next U.S. election to be a rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump – “two candidates that neither party nor the electorate want” – with Mr. Biden once again winning.

    He nonetheless offered a note of optimism at a time of deep political division and war. Look to history, he suggested: In 1979, inflation rates were near double-digits, unemployment was far higher, and the U.S.-led West “was losing every conflict around the world. The Soviet Empire was growing everywhere. It looked absolutely hopeless.”

    A decade later, with a new generation of leaders in power, the world was being remade.
    “By 1989, the Berlin Wall had fallen, the Soviet empire was collapsing,” Mr. Harper said. “And we were back to some of the best growing years we have had in the post-war period.”

    A leaked recording of the Manitoba Progressive Conservative’s election campaign co-chair saying many young people have been “brainwashed” at universities and schools has the NDP questioning the government’s views on public education.

    In the 78-second clip, former MP Candice Bergen is heard speaking to a group of 100 young PC supporters at a private event at the legislature on Wednesday evening.

    Bergen shared her excitement about seeing youth in politics, but said many young people are disengaged and entitled.

    “They think they don’t need to do anything. They think whatever they will do won’t matter anyway,” Bergen is heard saying in the recording.

    “Many — not you — but many young people have been brainwashed, frankly, whether it’s at university or even as children at school. It’s a challenge.”

    Bergen represented the Manitoba riding of Portage—Lisgar from 2008 to 2023, and served as the federal interim Conservative leader in 2022. She resigned her seat in the House of Commons last February and signed on to help lead the Manitoba PC’s election campaign in March.

    In her speech on Wednesday, Bergen thanked the young PC supporters at the event for getting involved in politics, saying their participation was encouraging.

    However, the NDP did not like the suggestion that youth are brainwashed.

    “To me, this is an attack on our public school system, it’s an attack on educators and we all need to be extremely concerned about this,” Lisa Naylor, NDP MLA and deputy caucus chair, told reporters outside the legislative chamber on Thursday.

    “I want to be very clear that educators do not brainwash our children, they teach them.”

    Naylor said she did not have a recording of Bergen’s entire speech, but added that the context of her remarks “really shouldn’t matter.”

    In a statement to CBC News, Bergen did not address her comments, but said the leaked recording omits a moment in her speech where she commended all young people who get involved in politics regardless of their political affiliations.

    “It’s no surprise that the NDP would cut and paste a positive and inspiring discussion I had with engaged youth,” the statement said.

    “Many young people are discouraged from being openly political in a multitude of settings — and I commend young, service-driven people for their willingness to stand up for what they believe, even when they may receive negativity from their peers.”

    Premier Heather Stefanson attended Wednesday’s private event with several PC MLAs. Naylor called for the premier to condemn Bergen’s remarks during Thursday’s question period.

    Minister of Environment and Climate Kevin Klein responded to Naylor by dismissing the accusation as “election propaganda.”

    “We will not tolerate dirty politics,” he said.

    Comments ‘concerning’

    Nello Altomare, NDP MLA for Transcona, said Bergen’s comments show disrespect for Manitoba educators and young people.

    “It’s concerning. What will this PC government do to public education if this is what they say behind closed doors?” Altomare asked.

    Premier Heather Stefanson did not speak to reporters following Thursday’s question period.
