  1. Pierre Pollievre has succumb to the Ukraine war mass-line narrative. He was supposed to be better than this. He now stands with Dear Idiot after caving to criticism over a few conservative MPs meeting with Christine Anderson:

On the one hand he has exposed his real thinking before attaining power. On the other hand, without him there are no alternatives to unseat the current Canadian dictator. Bernier remains in the political wilderness. And all for what? A war in which the closer “we” get to winning, the closer the world gets to losing.

  3. Trump to Glenn Beck: Nord Stream Attack “Could Have Been Us – The One Group it Wasn’t is Russia”
    By Richard Abelson Feb. 27, 2023 8:15 am1 Comment

Speaking to Glenn Beck Saturday, President Donald Trump said it is possible the Biden Regime is behind the Nord Stream bombing. “The one group it wasn’t is Russia”, Trump said.

“Well, it could have been us, and it could have been Ukraine, and it could have been some third-party country that wants to see trouble”, Trump said, refferring to the Sept. 26, 2022 attack on the Nord Stream pipeline off the coast of Danmark.”

Investigative reporter Seymour Hersh has charged that “Last June, (US) Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning.”

“The one group it wasn’t is Russia”, Trump told Beck. “This is a main source of massive income for them. They didn’t blow it up to make a point. That’s the one thing I can tell you for sure,” Trump said, adding that “everything gets blamed on Russia. These people are sick,” Trump said.

  4. Refighting the Vietnam War
Triumph Regained shows that America’s war in Vietnam could have been won earlier at far less cost, and in fact almost was, even belatedly by 1968.

    By Victor Davis Hanson

    February 26, 2023
Military historian and Hillsdale College professor Mark Moyar has just published Triumph Regained: The Vietnam War, 1965-1968, which is the second in what will become a massive three-volume revision of the entire Vietnam War. It is a book that should be widely read, much discussed, and reviewed in depth regardless of one’s view of that sad chapter in American diplomacy and conflict in Vietnam.

The first book, Triumph Forsaken: The Vietnam War, 1954-1965 appeared in 2006. It gained considerable attention for its heterodox analysis of the postwar origins of communist aggression against the South, beginning with the disastrous French colonial experience and its transference to the Americans. Moyar described the Byzantine intrigue through which the Kennedy Administration inserted American ground troops into Vietnam, and why and how his successor Lyndon B. Johnson rapidly escalated the American presence.

Moyar’s controversial argument in volume one centered on the disastrous decisions of these two administrations that ensured Americans would be sent into an uninviting distant theater of operations in the dangerous neighborhood of both communist China and Russia. Worse, they would be asked to fight under self-imposed limitations of the nuclear age in which their leaders could not achieve victory or perhaps even define it.

Still, Moyar argued that there was nevertheless a chance to achieve a South-Korean-like solution at much less cost, one that was thrown away through a series of American blunders. Most grievous was the American support for the 1963 coup that removed South-Vietnamese strongman president Ngo Dinh Diem and led to his almost immediate assassination

  5. Just In: FL Governor DeSantis Signs Bill Stripping Disney of Self-Governing Status
    By Margaret Flavin Feb. 27, 2023 9:45 am161 Comments

Monday morning, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis officially signed into law a bill that strips Disney of special privileges and appoints a state board to ensure debts are not absorbed by taxpayers.

DeSantis called a Special Session in 2022 to file legislation to terminate all special districts that were enacted in Florida prior to 1968 and the removal of exemptions from the big tech accountability law.

The Gateway Pundit reported that last year, DeSantis signed a bill terminating all special districts that were enacted in Florida prior to 1968, including Disney’s Reedy Creek Improvement District. The new law removes Disney’s tax privilege and special governing status.

The Reedy Creek Improvement District is the governing jurisdiction and special taxing district for the land of Walt Disney World Resort.

  6. Los Angeles County Scrubs 1.2 Million Names from Bloated Voter Rolls Thanks to Work by Judicial Watch

Tom Fitton and Judicial Watch Score Another Victory for Free and Fair Elections-

Los Angeles County removed 1,207,613 ineligible voters from their voter rolls as part of a lawsuit settlement with Judicial Watch.

Judicial Watch reported in January 2020 that the organization had found MILLIONS of extra registrants on voter rolls across the country. The organization warned several states that lawsuits were coming if they did not clean up their voter rolls.

Since that time Judicial Watch has forced several states to clean up their voter rolls including California, Kentucky and North Carolina.

    • I remember during a provincial election in Ontario after boundary lines were changed, the new voter sheets were short thousands of names, it created an awful mess. The Deputy Prime Minister at the time told upset voters that Conservatives made quite a mess of the lists. I corrected him by informing him in front of the voters that the province got all our lists from the Federal government and it was in fact the Liberal government who left all the voters off the list.

In the next federal there is going to be many boundary lines changed, “they” say it will most likely be a Conservative advantage. Hmmm I can not help but wonder if the ridings will get the complete lists or will the Liberals pull off another scam.

I know where I would put my money.

  7. NEWSMAX – Tucker’s Disastrous Foreign Policy Advice for America

Where would conservatives be without Tucker Carlson?

Though clearly a man of the right, he takes on conventional political wisdom espoused by all sides. He’s pro-family, pro-marriage, pro-God, a deadly enemy of the cultural left.

Every week he takes on the Leviathan, causing federal bureaucrats to quake. And he’s outspoken against those who seem eager to involve us in useless foreign wars. It’s hard to think of a crusade Tucker pursues that most conservatives don’t endorse, or, at the very least, take seriously.

Still, many of his loyal fans aren’t happy with how he has dealt with the Ukrainian issue. His opposition to sending American troops to “save Ukraine” is what the overwhelming majority of U.S. citizens believe. (And Ukraine’s leaders assure us aren’t needed.)

But Tucker frequently teams up with Fox News contributor Tulsi Gabbard, Hawaii’s Democrat former House member, to verbally abuse any and all who think military or economic aid should be given to the Ukrainian resistance.

As Tucker would have it, we are hurtling toward a nuclear war with Russia becauseof such provocative assistance, money we could use to fight fentanyl, control the border, or reduce the deficit.

He portrays Putin not as a dangerously aggressive dictator whose brutal actions could plunge the U.S. and Europe into a tragic, cataclysmic conflict but as a regional bully who is using force to rectify a few Russian border problems with a corrupt and undemocratic regime.

He has also painted NATO as a provocative relic of the Cold War that needlessly distresses Putin, rather than, as many thoughtful foreign policy experts believe, the most successful alliance against Soviet imperialism produced in the Western world.

NATO played a critical role in ending the Soviet threat. Who denies that? And it is playing a crucial role in undermining Putin’s determination to swallow free nations that once stuffed the Russian Empire.

The anti-interventionist wing of the GOP — of which Tucker is now an important part — thinks war with Russia can be avoided by basically ignoring Putin’s predatory conduct. But those distinguished military and diplomatic experts who know Putin best aren’t buying.

They think a major victory for Russia’s aspiring new Tsar will just whet his prodigious appetite for securing former Soviet satellites now under NATO’s military shield. They believe this pledge of protection would also make Putin far more likely to resolve an easily negotiable dispute between the warring parties. (Negotiable if Putin weren’t adamantly set on taking every square inch of Ukrainian soil.)

Henry Kissinger certainly doesn’t accept Tucker’s almost benign view of the Russian oligarch. Addressing the Davos conference in Switzerland recently, Kissinger said he had been opposed to Ukrainian membership in NATO because, like Tucker, he thought it might have provoked Putin into launching the war that is now well underway.

But in light of Putin’s actions, he now thinks NATO membership would be an “appropriate outcome.” He says that the U.S. should continue to support — and if required — intensify its military assistance.

He also expressed admiration for President Zelenskyy and “the heroic conduct of the Ukrainian people.” He called for sanctions and other pressures against Moscow until a final settlement is reached. But he also stressed we should keep negotiating with the Russian leader and “avoid the perception” that the conflict is directed against Russia itself.

That sounds like a reasonable response, even a somewhat soft response, to Putin’s assault. Hardly the ranting tones of someone who is eager for a shoot-out.

Numerous other highly respected students of Putin are in the Kissinger camp. They think his invasion of the Crimea and Ukraine indisputably revealed his determination to make Russia a world power again, strong enough to threaten the survival of NATO-protected nations that Putin has long sought to reconquer.

Retired four-star Army General Jack Keane is an astute observer of Putin. Quoting the Russian leader’s own words, he revealed his grand design “to bring back under the umbrella of Russia the former Soviet Republics that are now in NATO, and that is largely the Baltics, particularly Poland [and to] a lesser degree Romania.” (Ramzan Kadryov, the Kremlin appointed leader of Chechnya and a key Putin ally, has openly called for the invasion of Poland as soon as Ukraine is defeated).

Kadyrov’s declaration should hardly be comforting to the anti-interventionist wing of the GOP that thinks Putin has limited war aims. Nor is Gen. Keane alone in thinking that the ex-KGB chief is hell-bent on returning former Soviet satellites to the motherland.

Condeleeza Rice, former secretary of state under George W. Bush, and Robert Gates, secretary of defense under Barack Obama, have stated they got to know Putin pretty well in their service to this country.

In a jointly signed article in The Washington Post, they said he “remains fully committed to bringing all of Ukraine back under Russian control or, failing that, destroying it as a viable country.”

They remain convinced, again from both his threatening words and bloody deeds, that his “messianic mission” is to “re-establish the Russian Empire,” with Ukraine’s conquest essential to that mission.

General Keane says that NATO has the military power to rescue the world from a far worse conflict than exists today. From his wealth of historical knowledge and military experience, he concludes the current amount of our aid has already put Putin on the defensive.

Yes, Keane notes, we’ve invested $66 billion in these brave people this year but it’s only a fraction of our six trillion dollar budget and has been extremely effective.

For $66 billion, the Ukrainians, not Americans, are dying for their country.

They are “literally destroying the Russian army on the battlefield, which would set them back for years and deny them the ability to ever accomplish under Putin any of his ambitions in terms of taking back some of the Soviet Republics. By the way, if that would happen that would mean war between NATO and Russia. The scale of that [war] would be much greater than what it is right now.”

Putin used to be an anti-interventionist himself. In 1994, Russia, the United States and the United Kingdom signed the famous Budapest Manifesto. In exchange for relinquishing nuclear weapons placed in Ukraine when it was under Soviet control, these three nations pledged “to respect the independence and sovereignty and existing border of Ukraine.”

The memo reaffirmed their obligation to “refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine.”

The signatories also committed to “seek immediate” UN Security Council action “to provide assistance to Ukraine … if Ukraine should become a victim of aggression.”

At the time, Putin was a major figure in the Russian leadership. Tucker’s caution about going into war is appreciated by conservatives, especially since there are those on the right who seem willing to involve us in military conflict with anyone who gives offense.

But Tucker has failed to make the case against those like Kissinger, Keane, Rice, Gates and many, many others who have compiled overwhelming evidence that Putin is obsessed with not only subduing Ukraine but returning former Soviet satellites now under the NATO shield.

Indeed, Putin is provoking NATO, not the other way around, as he keeps saying. His massive — and needless —invasion has prompted NATO members to substantially rebuild their military. Even the historically non-aligned nations of Finland and Sweden sought NATO protection for the first time ever in May of last year.

They were so concerned about the Russian dictator’s murderous behavior they collectively sent well over $1 billion in military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine and welcomed tens of thousands of displaced Ukrainians into their communities. (Will Tucker and Tulsi call them warmongers, too?).

There are now 30 nations in NATO, the legendary defense alliance which has prevented a major war in Europe since its birth. That’s a record that can’t be ignored by serious people.

Using the logic of our raging anti-interventionists on how to achieve peace with Putin, they will, one assumes, soon call for undoing our strong alliances in Asia to avoid war with a nuclear-armed and increasingly belligerent China. (President Xi, our own military leaders have informed us, has already drawn up plans to invade Taiwan, an obsession similar to Putin’s desire to annex Ukraine permanently).

Tucker is surely right to fear that the U.S. may be involved in a war with Putin and Xi no matter what we do to confront them. But he has to ask himself this question honestly: Can any credible historian point to a single time in history that any nation that dismantled its military arsenal and abandoned its military alliances while two of its most deadly, brutal, and expansionary foes were on the march?

      • Yellen in surprise visit to Kyiv to reaffirm US economic aid to Ukraine

        – U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was in Kyiv on Monday on a surprise visit to reaffirm U.S. support for Ukraine in its struggle against Russia’s invasion and promote U.S. economic aid that is bolstering Ukraine’s war effort.

Yellen met with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and other key government officials just days into the war’s second year, repeating U.S. assurances delivered by President Joe Biden a week ago in Kyiv.

“America will stand with Ukraine as long as it takes,” Yellen, flanked by sandbags at the cabinet ministers’ office, told Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

In a private meeting with Zelenskiy late in the afternoon, the Treasury said she commended him “for his leadership and resolve in the face of Russia’s illegal and unprovoked war.”

The Treasury said she welcomed Zelenskiy’s actions to strengthen governance and address corruption – actions needed to ensure that U.S. economic aid is being spent responsibly.

“The United States has been powerfully supporting us since the first days of this war not only with weapons, but also on the financial front,” Zelenskiy said on his Telegram social media channel.

“It is necessary to further strengthen sanctions to deprive Russia of the ability to finance the war.”

In public remarks, Shmyhal said he and Yellen discussed additional sanctions on Russia, including confiscating frozen Russian assets to benefit Ukraine’s recovery.

But Yellen told reporters in a phone briefing that there were still significant legal obstacles to fully seizing some $300 billion in Russian frozen central bank assets and expressed caution about new curbs on Russia’s nuclear energy sector.

Yellen announced the transfer of the first $1.25 billion from the latest, $9.9 billion tranche of economic and budget assistance from Washington.

        AIR RAID SIREN ON ARRIVAL

Yellen’s visit comes a week after Biden staged an unannounced trip to Kyiv and promised $500 million in additional military aid for Ukraine and new sanctions on Russia announced days later, including effectively banning U.S. imports of Russian aluminum.

As Biden did, Yellen’s staff worked to keep the visit a secret until she left Kyiv, with a daily media advisory for Monday saying only that she would “meet with advisors and staff.”

Shortly before her arrival in the capital, city air raid sirens wailed as a warning of a possible attack, although they often turn out to be false alarms.

On a chilly morning, Yellen laid a wreath at a memorial wall for Ukrainian soldiers killed in the war, saying: “I am witnessing first-hand the devastating toll of Putin’s brutal war.”

She stopped to inspect a destroyed Russian tank and mobile artillery piece on display at a city square cleared of visitors and met with first responders from the city’s emergency services.

        BUDGET SUPPORT

Yellen visited Kyiv on her return to Washington from a G20 finance leaders meeting in Bengaluru, India, where she urged counterparts to boost economic aid to Ukraine and insisted that G20 ministers issue a strong condemnation of Russia’s invasion.

Since the war began, the United States has given Ukraine more than $13 billion in economic and budget support funding, and the latest disbursement will push that to over $14 billion, with an additional $8.65 billion expected through Sept. 30.

Yellen said such economic support is keeping Ukraine’s government and critical public services running, schools open and pensions paid, providing a “bedrock of stability” that fuels Ukrainian resistance.

“A sustained military effort cannot succeed without an effective government at home,” Yellen said at the Kyiv Obolon School No. 168, where the salaries of teachers, administrators and support staff are reimbursed from U.S. budget support funds.

A chalkboard at the school, damaged in Russia’s initial assault on the capital last year, read “Crimea is Ours,” next to one with “2+2=4.”

Ukraine is estimated to need $40 billion to $57 billion in external financing this year to support its economy and is negotiating a $15.5 billion loan program with the International Monetary Fund to partly fill the gap.

VOA – Yellen: Sanctions hurting Russia

      • Feb 27 2023 – U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY – Press Release

Remarks by Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen at Bilateral Meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky

President Zelenskyy, thank you for your warm welcome. Thank you for the leadership you have shown the world since the beginning of this illegal and unprovoked war.

Ukraine’s fight is our fight – for our shared values of democracy, the right to self-determination, and for an international order that advances peace and prosperity.

Ukraine is on the frontlines of freedom, and your people have paid an incredible price in that struggle.

I bring to Kyiv a clear message from President Biden and the American people: We will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.

We are matching our words with actions. The U.S. is proud to be Ukraine’s largest bilateral donor. To date, the United States has provided close to $50 billion in assistance to Ukraine.

During my visit to Kyiv, I am particularly focused on our close partnership in providing economic and budgetary support.

To date, we have provided over $14 billion in economic assistance. In the coming months, we will disburse an additional over $8 billion in economic support.

We are committed to providing you with the security assistance you need to defend your country. But we also know that resistance on the frontlines isn’t possible without a strong and stable home front: an economy that functions, and a government that continues to provide vital services.

We know that you and your Administration have taken steps to cut non-essential spending and implement prudent policies to stabilize your economy.

We also commend your focus on rooting out corruption and implementing the necessary reforms to stabilize the Ukrainian economy.

America and our global coalition will continue to step in to fill the gaps that exist in the face of Russia’s military and economic assault.

As you have said, our support is not “charity.” It’s an “investment in global security and democracy.”

Now more than ever, it is vital that the world redoubles its commitment in support of Ukraine and the cause of freedom.

        Thank you, President Zelensky.

        VICE NEWS – DEC 2019

    • My problem with funding this war is the lack of any type of coherence in the strategy and to a lesser extent tactics.

Yes Putin is working to recreate the Greater Russian Empire of the Soviet Union and must be stopped. Stopping him will require American leadership that has functioning brains and competence in their jobs. you don’t get this when you hire because of skin color, sex, or sexual preference.

We also need leaders that understand how the economy works and how to wage economic war. Trump (a businessman not a politician) understood real economics instead of relying on the pie in the sky Keynesian BS.

Yes all indications are that we are headed into a kinetic war with either Russia, Red China or both. This doesn’t mean we are headed into a nuclear war. Unless the Dems steal the 2025 election We still have a major nuclear force that can destroy China and do major damage to Russia. This threat will remain intact despite the best efforts of the left.

    • This article strikes me as neo-con absurdism. Where is the proof that Putin wants to reconstitute the Soviet territories? How soon the writer forgets the cost of that empire–a cost that drove it into insolvency. Where is the mention of Uke corruption siphoning off untold billions, or is this a provincial attitude unbecoming the likes of geopolitical heavyweights who are trying to convince us that this is a noble war? What about acknowledging the historical need for the Ukraine as a buffer state? What about recognizing those parts of the Ukraine that should not belong to the Ukraine? What about scrutinizing Zelensky’s hollow and lucrative “heroism”? But the kicker to exposing this very disingenuous article, in my opinion, is its final question. It is a “tell”. I can recall at no time Tucker suggesting the U.S. dismantle its military and abandon its alliances. To say so is to reveal the writer as a propagandist working not in the service of the American people, but in the service of this mass-line narrative that continues to drain American finances, while worldwide de-dollarization accelerates.

      • Putin wants to restore the Russian Empire, but a more urgent reason to take Ukraine he wants to ensure that the borders of Crimea are secure. That is Russia’s warm water port for their Naval and commerical fleet.

The real big fly in the punch is Turkey’s control of the Dardanelles Strait. Russia has long wanted control of the Dardanelles Strait, this lack of an assured passage through the straits is why Russia has the large Naval base in Syria. That baes is why they will never let Assad be replaced.

    • NEWMAX – Milley to Congress: Pentagon Needs More Ukraine Money by June

U.S. Army Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told lawmakers last week that more money will be needed by June to assist Ukraine in its war against Russia, according to multiple sources.

Congress, in its most-recent appropriation for Ukraine in December, gave $45 billion it expected to bolster Ukraine until September or October. The money was part of a $1.66 trillion government funding package.

However, the munitions and money from that appropriation is being used up at a faster rate than had been expected.

Milley, who met with Congressional leaders on Thursday, said another appropriation will be needed by June to prevent Ukraine from being unable to maintain operations and defend against Russian attacks, sources said.

Congress appropriated roughly $112 billion in military and economic support for Ukraine in four separate spending bills last year, the Washington Examiner reported.

That includes $23.5 billion in weapons and equipment from Defense Department stockpiles, provided through presidential drawdowns, according to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, a German research institute.

President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to Kyiv last week, when he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Biden, who has repeated his commitment to helping Ukraine, announced the administration’s latest military aid package, valued at roughly $460 million, during his trip there.

Among Republicans, there’s a rift growing regarding future funding to Ukraine.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and former Vice President Mike Pence are among those party members who have defended U.S. support of Ukraine.

As Russia’s war in Ukraine entered its second year on Friday, McConnell issued a lengthy statement defending the lethal aid being sent to Ukraine as a “direct investment” against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “war machine.”

Pence said Friday the U.S. should step up support for Ukraine.

“Make no mistake: This is not America’s war. But if we falter in our commitment to providing the support to the people of Ukraine to defend their freedom, our sons and daughters may soon be called upon to defend ours,” Pence told an audience at the University of Texas at Austin.

Other GOP members, though, disagree. Former President Donald Trump told conservative commentator Glenn Beck that U.S. spending will pull the country into “World War III.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, generally considered a contender for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, once strongly supported arming Ukraine to fight Russia. He urged sending “defensive and offensive” weapons to Ukraine in 2014 and 2015.

Last week, though, DeSantis criticized President Joe Biden for visiting Ukraine, and questioned the value of U.S. spending for that country’s defense.

“An open-ended blank check” is “not acceptable,” DeSantis told Fox News.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice warned during the weekend that potential 2024 GOP presidential contenders who have called for the U.S. to pull back its support for Ukraine should understand the “essence of this conflict.”

“It is really important that whoever runs for president of the United States understands the essence of this conflict, the fact that we are defending not just Ukrainian independence, but we’re defending a rules-based system that says might doesn’t make right, you can’t just extinguish your neighbor,” Rice said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

Fox News – George W. Bush pushes back on GOP criticism of Ukraine funding: ‘Not going to constrain’ helping US citizens

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke at the event

Former President George W. Bush pushed back on Republican criticism on U.S. funding going to Ukraine on the anniversary of the eastern European nation’s war with Russia.

While speaking at a George W. Bush Presidential Center event on the 20th anniversary of President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., the former president fired back on GOP criticism of funding going to Ukraine amid the war.

Former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, the moderator of the discussion with former Tanzanian President Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, asked Bush for his message to U.S. leaders and critics of American intervention in Africa with AIDS and the Ukraine War.

“I think we’re a big enough nation to do more than one thing,” Bush said. “And continuing to fight against AIDS on the continent of Africa and supporting the Ukrainian freedom fighters is not going to constrain our capacity to help our own citizens.”

Some Republicans have been critical about the amount of U.S. money going toward the war effort in Ukraine as inflation in America remains high.

Several officials, including current Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., spoke at the event on the anniversary of PEPFAR.

Pelosi was joined by her husband, Paul Pelosi, at the event. Bush gave the Pelosis a welcome during his time speaking at the event.

Pelosi said that PEPFAR is about “health justice” and saluted both Bush and former first lady Laura Bush “for not only their leadership, but the birth of this.”

“This statement at the State of the Union,” Pelosi said. “And I jumped up right away when he made this announcement representing San Francisco, as I do.”

The former speaker continued and recounted a story of speaking with U2 frontman Bono.

“So, we know when President Bush made the announcement and Bono was involved in it,” Pelosi recalled. “And I said to Bono, ‘No photo ops unless Congress goes big. We have to go big.'”

Pelosi said that HIV and AIDS became an issue for her from the “first moment” she took her seat in Congress and gave praise to Dr. Anthony Fauci, calling him a “national hero.”

In his conversation with Kikwete and Rice, Bush recounted a story of receiving a “lion” from the now-former Tanzanian president.

“You know, he gave me a lion when I went to visit in Tanzania,” Bush said.

“Not a live one,” Rice pointed out.

“No, it was a dead one,” Bush quipped, illicting laughter from the audience. “But he had it stuffed, it’s now in the Bush Library. It’s got a little name, it said, ‘Kikwete.'”

Kikwete was publicly tested for HIV/AIDS in July 2007, an act that encouraged others in the country to get tested for the virus.

    • Blinken arrives in Kazakhstan seeking ties in shadow of Ukraine war

Astana (Kazakhstan) (AFP) – Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived early Tuesday in Kazakhstan on a trip aimed at boosting the US role in Central Asia, where giant neighbour Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has prompted fears.

Kazakh officials greeted the top US diplomat after midnight in subzero temperatures on the windswept tarmac in the capital Astana, where he will meet President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the day before flying to Uzbekistan.

In Astana, he will also meet with the foreign ministers of all five former Soviet republics in Central Asia — which also include Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

The trip is the most senior to Central Asia by an official in US President Joe Biden’s administration and comes days after the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has received billions of dollars in Western support.

Central Asian nations have longstanding security and economic relationships with Russia but, unlike fellow former Soviet republic Belarus, they have not rallied behind Moscow on the war.

All five Central Asian nations abstained or did not vote last week on a UN General Assembly resolution that demanded that Moscow pull out of Ukraine.

President Vladimir Putin’s justifications for the war, which included deploring the treatment of Russian speakers in Ukraine, have rattled nerves in Central Asian nations with sizable Russian minorities.

Kazakhstan, which has Russia’s longest land border, has welcomed Russians fleeing military service and called for a diplomatic resolution to the war that respects international law. Tokayev recently spoke by telephone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, although he also visited Putin last year to reaffirm ties.

China, which the United States views as its most significant long-term challenger, has also been seeking to expand influence in the adjacent region. President Xi Jinping last year chose Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan for his first foreign trip since the Covid-19 pandemic.

After Central Asia, Blinken will head to New Delhi for a meeting of the Group of 20 foreign ministers. He is expected to avoid Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, whom he has only spoken to by telephone since the war, with the United States believing that Moscow is not sincere about a negotiated solution.

  8. Unmasking Prejudice? Professor Denounces Maskless People as “Racist, Ableist, and Classist.”

George Washington University (where I teach) this week became one of the last major universities to drop its mask mandate. Many students had long declined to follow the mandate, but the decision was met with relief by many at the school. Yet, some are vivid about the lifting of such mandates in various schools. One is a professor at the University of British Columbia who has participated in roundtable discussions as an expert with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Dr. Amy Tan is a Clinical Associate Professor in Palliative Care andFamily Practice at UBC’s Faculty of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Calgary. She recently issued a blistering attack on those going maskless as being “racist, ableist, and classist.” The comments raise long-standing concerns that masks have become a vehicle for social and political rather than medical agendas.

According to media reports, Tan responded to a user who defended labeling non-maskers as “racist.” The user denounced dropping the mandates and added:

  9. Radical Democrat and Squad Member Who Supports “Defund The Police” Movement Secretly Marries Campaign Security Guard – And She Paid Him Handsomely
    By Cullen Linebarger Feb. 27, 2023 10:00 am137 Comments

Stories about leftist politicians wanting to eliminating public safety for ordinary Americans while having top-level security for themselves are not new. One Democrat politician, however, is so hypocritical she has not only hired private security services, she married her own campaign security guard.

KSDK revealed Sunday Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) secretly married Cortney Merritts last weekend in a private ceremony. As Gateway Pundit readers know, Bush is an ardent supporter of the Marxist “Defund the Police” movement.

Their relationship has proved lucrative for Merritts since it first began. He received over $60,000 for “security services” last year alone for protecting Bush.

He has also enjoyed several trips alongside Bush including one to her first inauguration back in January 2021.

By providing this money to Merritts, Bush may have violated campaign finance laws which forbid the use of campaign funds for personal use.

Will the House of Representatives investigate?

    KSDK reported:

  10. FEB 27 2023 – CBC Building Plastered With Suspected Vaccine Injuries And Deaths

(Toronto, ON) Activists plastered hundreds of suspected Covid “vaccine” injuries and deaths onto the doors and windows of the CBC building on Front St. early this morning.

The CBC, Canada’s taxpayer-funded media corporation, has been charged by many to be complicit in propagandist lies over the safety of the experimental gene therapies, including former journalist Rodney Palmer recently saying, “They’ve got blood on their hands,” during our live panel event.

Without any critical investigation, the CBC and other mainstream media outlets continue to push the “safe and effective narrative” in spite of overwhelming evidence of catastrophic and unprecedented levels of adverse events.

Seeking to bring attention to the injuries and deaths temporally related to Covid-19 “vaccines,” the activists worked feverishly to get the profiles up. Security guards were present but did not intervene.

    Special report coming soon.

  11. CNN Guest Drops Truth Bomb on Democrats Ignoring American Suffering in East Palestine Because They Voted for Trump (VIDEO)
By Jim Hoft Feb. 27, 2023 12:05 pm

Former Democratic Ohio State Senator Nina Turner appeared on CNN’s State of the Union with Dana Bash, along with CNN Political Commentator David Urban, Former Biden Speechwriter Jeff Nussbaum, and CNN Political Commentator Kristen Soltis Anderson, to discuss the recent train derailment in Ohio and whether or not Biden should be challenged for the Democratic nomination for turning a blind eye on the tragedy.

During the discussion, Nina Turner slammed the Democrats for politicizing the tragedy in East Palestine and for turning a blind eye to the suffering of the locals because of their support for Trump.

“For the neoliberals who say that the residents of that area deserve what they are getting because they voted for President Donald J. Trump. It is abhorrent. This is about poverty,” said Turner.

“This is about poor working-class white people who are enduring some of the same things that poor working-class black people endure. And so I want to lay it out that the cultist behavior in politics right now – it is a sin and a shame that when people are suffering to this magnitude, you got people who will… say that they are getting what they deserve. What they deserve is clean air, clean food, clean water. They deserve relief both in the short term and also in the long term.”

Turner believes in human rights, meaning the right to clean air, clean food, clean water, healthcare, shelter, and education regardless of who you vote for.

The Man Who Saved the Second Amendment
    By David Deming
In recent weeks, federal courts have begun to nullify a number of gun control laws on the grounds they violate the Second Amendment. In the Western District of Oklahoma, judge Patrick Wyrick found that prohibiting marijuana users from owning guns is unconstitutional. The Fifth Circuit Court concluded that people subject to domestic violence restraining orders cannot be compelled to surrender any weapons they own. A federal district court in West Virginia ruled that the federal law which makes it a crime to possess a firearm with an altered, obliterated or removed serial number is unconstitutional. The tide at last has turned: two-hundred and thirty-two years after its ratification, the federal courts are finally starting to take the Second Amendment seriously.

There’s no mystery as to the cause of this revolution. Last June, in the landmark case of NYSRPA v. Bruen, the Supreme Court significantly strengthened the case law supporting Second Amendment rights. In a 6 to 3 opinion authored by Justice Clarence Thomas, the Court recognized that the Second Amendment protects not only the right to bear firearms, but to carry them in public. More importantly, the Court put an end to “means-end scrutiny,” the rationale that lower courts had used repeatedly to uphold gun control statutes. Under this doctrine of review, any statute that was viewed as furthering an important government interest was upheld as constitutional. Placed in the hands of liberal judges who found firearms to be repugnant, the implementation of means testing had essentially removed the Second Amendment from the Bill of Rights. On the contrary, Thomas wrote, the proper standard of judicial review was “to assess whether modern firearms regulations are consistent with the Second Amendment’s text and historical understanding” — and the most important historical period was the late eighteenth century, the time during which the Second Amendment was written and adopted.

So the man who saved the Second Amendment was Justice Clarence Thomas. But if we are to believe Justice Thomas himself, he was not so much the cause as the effect. In his autobiography, My Grandfather’s Son, Thomas explained that his entire character had been formed by his grandfather, Myers Anderson. “What I am is what he made me.” Born into the most abject poverty in rural Georgia, Thomas’ parents divorced in 1950, and his father abandoned him. As a young child, Thomas lived in a shack without electricity or plumbing. One day, the house burned to the ground, and Thomas’ mother relocated to a slum in Savannah where raw sewage poured out onto the ground. “Most of the time,” Thomas wrote, “I was cold and hungry.”

At the age of six, Clarence and his brother were taken in by their grandparents. Thomas’ grandfather, Myers Anderson, was barely literate. With only a third-grade education, Anderson made his living delivering fuel oil. A man of some self-discipline, Anderson raised his grandchildren to have “manners and behavior,” and respect “rules and regulations.” The order of the household was enforced by a liberal amount of corporal punishment. Anderson understood that the key to success in life was education combined with a powerful work ethic. He told Clarence, “I am going to send you boys to school and teach you how to work so you can have a better chance than I did.” By the time he was in the fourth grade, Clarence Thomas was a fixture at his grandfather’s business: before dawn, after school, and all day on Saturdays.

In the summers, Myers Anderson took his grandchildren to live and work on the family farm. Clarence and his brother woke before sunrise and worked all day, cutting trees, clearing land, mending fences, washing dishes, and feeding livestock. They learned how to butcher a hog, and how to skin and clean deer, raccoons, and squirrels. Anderson didn’t allow his grandsons to wear work gloves because he considered it “a sign of weakness.” Initially the boys’ hands blistered, but the blisters turned into calluses and the gloves proved unnecessary. No task was too difficult. If the boys protested, Anderson told them, “old man can’t is dead—I helped bury him.”

In college, Clarence Thomas drifted away from his grandfather’s teachings. He entertained Marxism and the Black power movement of the 1960s. In his autobiography, Thomas confessed, “I was an angry black man…I now believed that the whole of American culture was irretrievably tainted by racism.” In the Spring of 1970, Thomas participated in a rally protesting the Vietnam War. He marched and chanted “Ho, Ho, Ho Chi Minh.” The event degenerated into a riot. Thomas found his way back to his college campus early the next morning, escaping possible arrest and the ruination of his life. Exhausted, he prayed. “I promised Almighty God that if He would purge my heart of anger, I would never hate again.” Rage and resentment were abandoned.

Proverbs 22:6 assures us, “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Clarence Thomas returned to his grandfather’s principles. He read Thomas Sowell’s Economics and Politics of Race, and Ayn Rand’s Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. In 1980, Thomas registered as a Republican and voted for Ronald Reagan. He adopted the natural law philosophy of the Founders, and their vision of a government designed to protect the natural rights of its citizens. Through hard work and quiet perseverance, Thomas eventually was appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States.

There is a clear lesson in this story: nothing is more important than the education of our children. The greatest mistake conservatives ever made in this country was to abandon our education systems and turn them over to leftists. Our public schools are a disaster. This type of headline is now commonplace: “Not a single student can do math at grade level in 53 Illinois schools. For reading, it’s 30 schools.” Contemplate that. If 20 or 30 percent of the students failed to achieve basic proficiency levels in reading or math, we would have a serious problem. It’s much worse than that: in many schools not a single student is achieving the most basic level of proficiency. In the nineteenth century, teachers in one-room rural schools managed to successfully teach reading, writing, and arithmetic. But our modern public schools are only good for inculcating racial hatred through critical race theory and providing young children with pornography. This is a corrupt system that cannot be reformed or improved; it must be abolished.

The consequences of NYSRPA v. Bruen are just beginning to unwind. If the text and history criteria established by the Supreme Court are followed, the federal government’s entire scheme of gun regulation must fall. There is no historical precedent for the licensing of gun dealers, or for conducting background checks on buyers. Nor is there any historical basis for any gun ban whatsoever. Even the National Fireamrs Act of 1934 did not ban machine guns, it simply required registration and the payment of a tax. The first true gun national gun ban was the Hughes Amendment of 1986. The NFA, the Gun Control Act of 1968, the Brady Law of 1993, and all state bans, regulations, and restrictions are unconstitutional. It will take time, but ultimately all of these statutes are doomed.

Myers Anderson’s legacy looms large, and will continue to manifest its influence over the next several decades. Unless the Supreme Court wavers or reverses itself, the Second Amendment, and with it, perhaps, our entire constitutional system of ordered liberty, will be preserved. Not because of the actions of any brilliant legal scholar or any charismatic politician. Liberty will endure because one semi-literate Black man living in the Jim Crow South of the 1950s took the time to properly raise a child. If our country is to be saved, it must be one child at a time.

We will survive this period of danger because of the Citizen Soldier, both types the ones who have served and those who haven’t served but hunt and target shoot. The Florida Standard spoke to hospital employees who wish to remain anonymous, but provided copies of their complaints to hospital administrators.

A complaint against Dr. Daniel B. Case, was provided in which the employee alleges the Dr. made disparaging remarks about people who are unvaccinated.

The letter says the employee was asked whether they would get vaccinated, to which the employee answered “No”, adding “because that is my freedom of choice”. In response Dr. case allegedly said “You guys are the reason why people are dying and why Covid is spreading”.

Additionally the complaint claims the doctor also said “When you guys get fired, then we’ll all have a party and Darwinism will do its work and perhaps most egregiously, they should take you guys to the firing line”.

A nurse at the hospital alleges that in 2021 the hospital made lists of unvaccinated staff, when were then subject to “re-education sessions” led by other staff which sought to get them vaccinated

  14. House Oversight Chair Escalates Investigation Into Biden Crime Family, Accuses Treasury Department of Obstructing Probe

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) on Monday escalated his investigation into the Biden Crime Family.

“I am calling on US Treasury to testify at a hearing on March 10,” Comer said on Monday.

“The American people deserve transparency. Treasury’s failure to produce requested information related to the Biden family’s influence peddling schemes is unacceptable.” Rep Comer said.

Hunter Biden and his Uncle James have at least 150 suspicious activity reports on their accounts.

    Reminder:

According to Rep. Comer, the Bush administration created banking suspicious activity reports. It was a way for banks to help the administration track foreign money laundering and dangerous terrorist activities.

Congress was always able to access the government reports from the Treasury Department.

But then Joe Biden immediately changed the law when he entered the White House. Now, Congress cannot access the Biden family’s suspicious activity reports.

  15. New York Times Writer Lectures Survivor of Mao’s Cultural Revolution About Oppression
    By Margaret Flavin Feb. 27, 2023 1:35 pm12 Comments

New York Times journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones is the creator behind the “1619 Project. In a Twitter exchange, Hannah-Jones has the audacity to lecture Xi Van Fleet on oppression. Van Fleet, an opponent of CRT, is a survivor of Mao’s brutal and deadly Cultural Revolution.

The fictitious 1619 Project is a long-form journalism project with writers from The New York Times, and The New York Times Magazine attempting to “reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the very center of the United States’ national narrative.”

The Gateway Pundit has reported on Hannah-Jones labeling whites “barbaric devils” and “bloodsuckers” and comparing Christopher Columbus to Hitler.

Hannah-Jones and Van Fleet exchanged tweets on the issue.

    Hannah-Jones:
Someone asked me why is Black history, specifically, being targeted. I said it’s because our history has always been political *by definition*: Our very presence on these lands is the greatest rebuke to the narrative of American exceptionalism. We give lie to the lie.

    Van Fleet:
Yourself and I, an immigrant from China with 200 borrowed dollars in my pocket when I arrived more than 30 yrs ago, are the proof of American Exceptionalism.

    Hannah-Jones:
    How so. Be specific.

    Van Fleet:
Natural rights is unique to American founding. Bc of it we were able to abolish slavery, Jim Crow, anti-Chinese laws … to allow individuals to succeed. What is not unique to America is slavery, which still exists today. Ppl fighting for human rights in China are jailed by CCP.

    Hannah-Jones:
Ma’am, the idea of natural rights may have been unique, but 1/5th of the population was enslaved at our founding and had no “natural rights.” Further, you do not think protesters in the US face state violence and arrest? You think the US has no political prisoners?

Please watch episode five of the #1619hulu series called FEAR. I’m afraid your vision of America does not match the reality.

    Van Fleet:
Mine is not a “vision”. Mine is “lived experience” under the enslavement of Communism, freedom in America, and the current Woke Revolution aiming to undo America. Black Americans are enslaved no more thanks to the persevering principles and humanity of this country.

In the views of many critics, it is an attempt at revisionist historical work.

This isn’t the first time Hannah-Jones has gone after an Asian women. The Gateway Pundit reported that she sent a Twitter mob to attack an Asian woman who complained about the surging violence in the New York City subway system.

A tweet pinned to Van Fleet’s Twitter says, “I am deeply thankful. Today 35 yr ago, my dream came true. I was granted a student visa to come to USA. I no longer feel this is the America that I arrived in. She has been under attack by Marxism/Communism that I thought I had escaped from. That’s why I am fighting to save her!”

    By Cristina Laila Feb. 27, 2023 4:15 pm60 Comments

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is under investigation for his constant use of private jets.

Pete Buttigieg has taken at least 18 flights on private jets all paid for by US taxpayers, according to previous report published by Fox News.

Buttigieg flies on private jets while lecturing Americans on the virtues of making sacrifices in the name of climate change.

Buttigieg flies private while Americans deal with delayed flights and flight cancelations because of his incompetence and corruption.

Everyday Americans face flight [cancellations] and long wait times because Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has completely mismanaged air travel,” APT executive director Caitlin Sutherland told Fox News Digital. “Yet, he gets to avoid all that by taking taxpayer-funded private jets to destinations with readily available commercial airline options.”

“And for someone so holier-than-thou on reducing emissions, Buttigieg sure doesn’t seem to mind the pollution caused by his literal jet-setting,” she continued. “This is hypocrisy at its finest, and these troubling expenses to taxpayers must come under immediate scrutiny.”

The Department of Transportation’s internal watchdog is now investigating Buttigieg for his constant private jet travel.

    Cook County Jail

The inmates, some who are accused of murder, argued guards at Cook County Jail were pushing them to vote – despite some being registered in a different jurisdiction

They claimed the guards were receiving orders from higher up and were ‘just doing what I’m told’ when confronted over the move.

It comes amid fears of ballot harvesting as insiders claimed the jail was the ‘ideal environment’ due to no cameras or election observers.

It also raised concerns it could propel Lori Lightfoot back into office, despite her languishing on just 13 percent in the polls.

One inmate, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told DailyMail.com the guards didn’t seem to care that they might be breaking the law.

He said: ‘I asked him [the guard], ‘Did you ask people first if they’re registered to vote?’ And he said ‘no’.

    By Cullen Linebarger Feb. 27, 2023 6:20 pm0 Comments

The investigation into the Biden Crime Family’s foreign business deals might be about to explode. A former associate of Hunter Biden claims he has damning information on the Bidens’ sordid foreign business deals.

The Washington Free Beacon revealed Monday that Gal Luft, the co-director of the Washington-based Institute for the Analysis of Global Security, says he provided details about Hunter Biden, his uncle, Jim Biden, and his father Joe Biden to the Trump Justice Department back in March 2019.

Luft was an adviser to CEFC China Energy, a business conglomerate with extremely close ties to the Chinese Communist Party. CEFC Energy paid Hunter $6 million in 2017 alone to secure energy deals in the United States according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Once Joe Biden assumed power, there was every reason to keep details on his and his family’s corruption hidden from the public. According to Luft, the Regime had him arrested on bogus weapon trafficking charges last month in an effort to silence him.

Now Luft is ready for payback. Luft’s lawyer told Biden’s DOJ that his client will submit a letter to Congress containing the information Luft previously gave to the FBI during the Trump Administration on the Bidens.

    The Washington Free Beacon reported:

An Israeli think tank executive who served alongside Hunter Biden as an adviser to a Chinese energy conglomerate widely suspected of serving as a front for the Chinese Communist Party now says he provided the FBI with damning information about the Biden family’s foreign business dealings.

Gal Luft, the co-director of the Washington-based Institute for the Analysis of Global Security, says he provided information about Hunter Biden, his father, and his uncle, Jim Biden, to the Justice Department in March 2019. Luft served as an adviser to CEFC China Energy, The group, which donated at least $350,000 to Luft’s think tank, paid Hunter Biden at least $6 million in 2017 to procure energy investment deals in the United States.

Luft’s claims come as a former Hunter Biden business partner, Eric Schwerin, has started cooperating with the House Oversight Committee’s investigation of the Biden family’s foreign business dealings. Investigators have focused heavily on Hunter Biden’s work with CEFC China Energy. The Justice Department has investigated Hunter Biden since 2018 over his taxes and foreign business dealings, though the case appears to be focused on the first son’s unpaid taxes.

Luft’s threat to “name names” comes after his arrest in Cyprus on Feb. 16 on charges that he illegally sold weapons to Libya and China. Luft asserts that the United States is seeking his extradition as part of a “politically motivated” payback for his exposure of the Bidens.

DOJ is trying to bury me to protect Joe, Jim & Hunter Biden,” Luft said. An Israeli lawyer for Luft claims his client provided information about Hunter Biden to the FBI in 2019.

While Luft’s claims might otherwise be easily dismissed as a bluff, his connection to CEFC China Energy suggests he may know something about the Bidens.

“Dr. Luft is a whistleblower,” Luft attorney Robert Henoch told the Washington Free Beacon. He asserts that prosecutors decided against pursuing Luft’s information “and are instead targeting him with trumped-up and false charges.”

This unfortunately appears to be part of an attempt to discredit a witness with critical information about an ongoing congressional and DOJ investigation.”

Henoch did not further elaborate on the information Luft has on Biden. But the lawyer recently told the Justice Department he plans to submit a letter to Congress that will detail statements that Luft gave to the Justice Department during an interview in Belgium, according to documents obtained by the Free Beacon.

Satanic Video Game Allows Players to “Activate Blood Alters” and ‘Sacrifice Friends to Demons’
    By Anthony Scott Feb. 27, 2023 7:20 pm90 Comments

Satanic subliminal messages in video games are no longer hidden. They are out in the open.

Video game news site Push Square reported a new game called Deceit 2 will allow players to sacrifice their friends to demons and activate blood alters in order to “tear down the veil of reality”.

The new game is being categorized as a social survivor horror game that will be available for both the PS5 and PS4.

    Per Steam:

Deceit 2 is a 6-9 player social deduction horror game where two among you have been Infected. Whilst the Infected do the Game Master’s bidding, the Innocent must work together to escape the Ritual whilst deducing who is plotting against them. So who can you trust?

Infected players can activate Blood Altars located across the map, weakening the veil of reality until it breaks. This transports all players to The In-Between, a parallel dimension in which the Infected have terrifying powers. Infected players will wreak havoc and sabotage the efforts of innocent players, but can be eliminated if exposed outside of the In-Between.

Here’s a look at a sadistic blood alter on the game:

The trailer is quite sinister too:

The game has been compared to as a more violent and dark version of the hit video game Among Us.

During the days leading up to the 2020 Election, The Gateway Pundit reported the video game Among Us prohibited users to have their username as Vote4Trump but allowed users to have their name as Vote4Biden.
