The segment that got Scott Adams cancelled

The bible says, “Judge not lest ye be judged”. That clearly has become far too impractical. So maybe at least we can actually look at the evidence before we convict someone and trash their lives altogether.

  1. Allow me to properly educate you as to what the Holy Bible actually says:
The Bible does say: Judge not, lest ye be judged… But that is not the whole Passage!

Uninformed people and Apologists* for EVIL use the Bible quote: Matthew 7:1 “Judge not, lest ye be judged”. However, when you examine the context of the subsequent verses, it is clearly an admonition to not be HYPOCRITICAL in judging. The Bible, however, clearly does emphasize that we must judge – avoiding evildoers, etc.
7 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

It is also NOT “Love the sinner and Love the sin” as some would have you believe by their actions.

This is not what Christ meant, at all. We are, in fact, called to judge those actions and beliefs that we can view well enough to make a determination of guilt or innocence.

Unbelievers love to quote this one. This is why we’re supposed to be careful about casting pearls before swine. They’ll not know the right use of the teachings and twist them into an attack they think is sound.

The “judge not” line is used by the extremely “judgmental”; they can’t see the plank in their own eye! Does God actually ask Christians to just accept all sins and perversions or are we to discern and admonish and correct the sinner? This is what Jesus Himself did.

To the People who say, “Judge Not”, in many cases Jesus told us TO judge. “You will know them by the fruit they bear, just as you know a tree by its fruit.” — That is judging folks. The only thing you cannot do is to condemn a person to hell. It isn’t your place. Nor take revenge, but you can protect yourself!

    2 Timothy Chapter 4
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be equipped, prepared for every good work”.

“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingly power: proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching.” (2 Timothy 3:12).

“Open thy mouth and JUDGE rightly” Proverbs

Jesus to Peter – “Simon thou hast JUDGED rightly”.

If we are not to ever judge others, why are the words “rebuke” and “reproach” used One Hundred and Eleven times, and the word “reprove” used 35 times in the New King James Version of the Holy Bible?
    Rebuke:
    1. to express sharp, stern disapproval of; reprove; reprimand. noun
    2. sharp, stern disapproval; reproof; reprimand

    Reproach:
    1. address (someone) in such a way as to express disapproval or disappointment:
“critics of the administration reproached the president for his failure to tackle the deficiency” · [more]
    2. the expression of disapproval or disappointment:
“he gave her a look of reproach” · [more]

    Reprove:
    reprimand or censure (someone):
    “he was reproved for obscenity”
synonyms: reprimand · rebuke · reproach · scold · admonish

Isaiah 59:14-15 “And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth has fallen in the streets and equity cannot enter.
Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no judgment.”

    I have MUCH, MUCH MORE….

  2. With respect to the New Testament, at least, the difference between the scriptures supporting judging others and those condemning it are based on who is being judged. Jesus and Paul discourage passing moral judgment on unbelievers. In contrast, there is strong support for reproof, correction, and discipline of believers by other believers within the context of the congregation.

The problem is that moral judgement for a believer comes from the voice of the Holy Spirit and the correct reading of scripture. The unbeliever does not have access to the first, nor the insight for the second. Attempting to impose Christian moral judgment on the damned is like the old saw about teaching a pig to sing — it is a waste of time and it annoys the pig.

In fact, it is the one sure way to enrage the unbeliever. A classic example is Lot in Sodom. When the crowd attacking his home become enraged, it’s important to note what really upset them. Their complaint against Lot was:

““This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.”

And it enrages the damned today, as well. This is in contrast to discipline in the believer, who should welcome instruction.

This distinction was most obvious when Paul discusses Christians taking each other to court. He views judgment within the congregation and outside the congreation as different worlds, and has little use for the latter. As he writes in his letter to the Corinthians:
“If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people? Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers!”

Paul views the Christian congregation as a separate people sojourning in a strange land. We are aliens and visitors. There is no admonition for social activism in the New Testament whatsoever.

We will judge the world, upon the establishment of the Kingdom of God. But not now. Peter writes “Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. ” Now we are a separate people in a foreign land — whose customs and judgments are not ours.

    • Moral judgement of their personal behavior is not for believers to judge. Nothing about groups or people effecting others or society. I can judge someone forcing another to bake a blasphemous cake for example. Paul severly judged Elymas because he was standing in the way of his preaching.

  4. Eeyore did a tremendous service by publishing this excellent video.

Truth is a powerful weapon and what Adams said is as truthful as it gets. It took a lot of courage for him to say anything critical about a protected group.

The only thing worse would have been if he went after the trans freaks.

I hope he has good protection and guards. They are going to come for him. Now his life is in danger.

Nobody wants to hear the truth even when it’s as clear as black and white.
