  1. I asked my old father why, in his opinion, did Europe experience its transformation roughly one-thousand years ago wherein the countries we see today were formed.. His answer was “…mass migration…”

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TEwIqKvOHAU&feature=youtu.be

This time-lapse illustration depicts Europe’s development. Imagine comparing the number of gallons of blood spilled in this video compared to the one above, then ask why.

    • A partial answer is population growth combined with the growth of autocratic governments. People moved to get more land or to escape government or feudal lords control. Historically people seeking freedom moved to the frontiers. This created conflicts with the native populations of the frontier regions.

Combine this with the second (and more) sons of the nobles seeking land to exploited and you have a continually changing world map. The modern nations worked to stop this problem by establishing immigration controls. This worked until the Marxists decided to destroy the current civilization so they can take over the entire world. Europe has suffered a massive crisis because of this open border policies. They haven’t fallen yet but the question of wfo will rule Europe in the future is tilting against the Europeans.

North America is experiencing the same problem but we aren’t in as serious a collapse, partially because of the armed population of the United States.

The war that Obiden has started in Eastern Europe is going to spread and grow for many decades. The lovers of freedom can win but only if we fight to retain our natural rights and freedom.

  2. Is “dooring” a backlash against radical cyclists who feel they occupy some moral, environmental high ground over motorists? I don’t know and it’s a horrible thing to do.

But I have encountered such militant cyclists in Dystopia’s capital. My wife and I were both attacked by such maniacs on separate occasions. A good indication of a rabid environmental bicycle Nazi can be when they ride within those downtown bicycle lanes distinguished by painted lines on the road. These lines empower the idealistic cyclist to defy all vehicles by virtue of the invisible, but powerful, sanctity of said space ensured by the creators of our soon-to-be 15-minute cities. Why, those lines and flimsy pylons are saving the planet, don’t you know. For an idea of the false sense of safety those lines can instill in cyclists, search Youtube for cyclists hit by dump trucks. There are so many that this has got to be a “thing”.

    • Would be great to see a graph of deaths before and after all the cycle infrastructure was put in. Downtown Ottawa has all kinds of BS for bikes, severely limiting room for cars and 6 months a year there is basically zero bike traffic. When you turn off of say, Metcalfe St. Ottawa, you have to cross a bike lane blocked of with poles that stick up about 4 feet. Nearly no one looks as they turn because its counterintuitive.

Before they had bike lanes and so on, cyclists just merged with traffic and behaved like traffic with no special status to speak of.

I wonder if there were more or fewer accidents then.

  4. George Soros Pushes A Dangerous Technology To Cool The Earth And Stop “Climate Change” – Could Lead To Massive Number of Deaths
February 17, 2023 by Cullen Linebarger

George Soros wants humans to take control of Earth’s atmosphere to halt “climate change.”

This idea could create a global calamity resulting in the deaths of millions of humans and animals.

According to Fox News, Soros spoke to the Munich Security Conference Thursday and boasted that he had discovered a process where white clouds are created to reflect sunlight away from warming areas to prevent ice sheets from melting. Ice sheets melting in Greenland in particular, he claimed, could doom human civilization.

Our civilization is in danger of collapsing because of the inexorable advance of climate change,” Soros said.

“The melting of the Greenland ice sheet would increase the level of the oceans by seven meters. That poses a threat to the survival of our civilization,” he continued. “I wasn’t willing to accept that fate, so I tried to find out whether anything could be done to avoid it.

“I was directed to Sir David King, a climate scientist who had been chief scientific advisor to previous British governments.”

Tuesday evening Anthony D. McRae, 43, walked around Michigan State and using a 9mm handgun, shot and killed three college students and seriously wounded five more. McRae killed himself later that evening when confronted by police in Lansing while walking home. McRae left a note in his pocket that detailed some sort of manifesto and a list of other targets, whose common traits are not self-evident.

Authorities now regularly delete social media profiles and suppress information about shooter motives so that they can always control the narrative on shooter motives.

Even though Michigan does not have formal party registration, different data vendors track information about every registered voter in order to determine which messages and issues to market to those individual registered voters. The Gateway Pundit asked for the details on the McRae family from one such data vendor and received the following information. The data vendor asked to remain anonymous because of fears of lost business and retribution if they were identified.

    • politico –How McKinsey steers the Munich Security Conference

The US-based consultancy has taken control of the event’s agenda, shaping its program and the guest list for years.

MUNICH, Germany — Many of the biggest names in business and politics will cross the red carpet of the stately Bayerischer Hof hotel this weekend for the Bavarian capital’s annual Munich Security Conference. But to identify the real power behind the A-list event, turn to page 169 of the conference’s annual bible, the “Munich Security Report.”

There, in baby blue letters at the bottom half of the page, is a name as familiar to most conference-goers as their own: McKinsey.

Over the past decade, the U.S.-based consultancy has quietly influenced the agenda of the conference, according to current and former employees and internal documents viewed by POLITICO, steering everything from the focus of its marquee report to the event’s program, to the guest lists.

The relationship has been symbiotic: While the non-profit MSC benefits from the convening muscle of the most powerful management consultancy in the world (free of charge) and its army of experts, McKinsey gets to shape the agenda of one of the premier venues for global elites, giving it the opportunity to push narratives that serve the firm’s client base, be they in defense, the energy sector or government, people close the conference say.

Yet the collaboration is also a delicate one. The MSC is a state-sponsored event held under the aegis of the German government. Without the close involvement of the state, which aside from financial support also helps recruit the global leaders who lend the conference its cachet, the MSC would cease to exist. The extent of McKinsey’s behind-the-scenes influence in shaping the conference’s agenda is bound to raise questions about the governance and oversight of an event that sells itself as a neutral forum to debate world affairs.

In a statement to POLITICO, the conference said that “as a politically independent, non-partisan organization, the MSC is solely responsible for the MSC program,” adding that all participants to its flagship event “are invited as personal guests by the MSC Chairman.”

McKinsey described its association with the MSC, which refers to the firm as a “knowledge partner,” as that of a provider of “publicly-available facts and data” and graphics, adding in a statement that it does not undertake new research or analysis for the MSC security report.

“We have no editorial control over the report or influence over its topics, and we do not have a role in shaping the conference program, its guests or events,” the firm said. “Any assertions to the contrary are wrong.”

      ‘The McLeyen System’

What makes the depth of the MSC’s partnership with McKinsey particularly sensitive in Germany is that the firm was at the center of a political scandal during Ursula von der Leyen’s tenure as German defense minister involving allegations of cronyism and irregularities in procurement. The ministry of defense is one of the primary funders of the MSC.

After being named defense minister in 2013, von der Leyen hired the then-head of McKinsey’s Berlin office, Katrin Suder, as a senior aide. In the years that followed, McKinsey, where two of von der Leyen’s children have also worked, was awarded contracts worth millions from the ministry under what internal critics claimed were questionable circumstances.

The affair — dubbed “the McLeyen System” in Berlin — triggered a nearly two-year-long parliamentary probe, and a 700-page report into allegations the ministry squandered hundreds of millions of euros on McKinsey and other consultants. By the time the investigating committee completed its work in 2020, however, von der Leyen was firmly ensconced in Brussels as president of the European Commission and Suder had left the ministry.

The investigation concluded that relations between von der Leyen’s ministry and the consultants were far too cozy and that much of the work they were hired for could have been handled by the civil service. Though von der Leyen and Suder weren’t accused of direct involvement in dodgy procurement practices, many opposition politicians argued they bore political responsibility.

A spokesman for von der Leyen, who is due to attend the MSC on Saturday, declined to comment for this article. Suder did not respond to a request for comment.

      Boiling Munich’s Ocean

Von der Leyen and Suder were central to the evolution of McKinsey’s involvement with the MSC, as well.

In December 2012, when Suder was still running McKinsey’s Berlin operation, the firm hosted an exclusive “roundtable” in the German capital together with Wolfgang Ischinger, the former German ambassador who heads the MSC. The meeting led several months later into the first “Future of European Defence Summit,” an exclusive gathering of “military, industry and academic leaders” co-sponsored by McKinsey and the MSC.

The gist of the initiative was to nudge European policymakers into pooling resources and steer the EU on a path toward common defense, a longstanding if elusive goal for many in Europe. It was also a goal for some of McKinsey’s biggest clients in defense, such as Airbus, which has encouraged common procurement in the region. And who better to help European ministries of defense along the difficult path of rationalization and weeding out inefficiencies than McKinsey?

“This independent study contains … key numbers and analyses with respect to long-term productivity and annual savings potential,” Ischinger wrote in the forward of a 33-page report McKinsey produced after the event. “I am confident that professionals from industry, from the military and from politics will find this paper helpful and thought-provoking when pondering options for the future of European defense.”

The 2013 report, the first of many, marked the beginning of a process that would transform the MSC, people close to the conference say. McKinsey offered to bolster the MSC’s analytical output with its own resources, people close to the MSC said, flooding the zone with analysis, an approach McKinseyites call “boiling the ocean.”

“I was thrilled to see that past analyses that originated from our cooperation made their way into the core of the European debate on defense,” Ischinger wrote several years later. “Our findings — for instance, about the fragmentation of European capabilities and about the annual savings potential if European countries organized defense procurement jointly — have been widely used in public appearances and official documents by defense ministers and other European leaders.”

When Ischinger took over the MSC in 2008, the conference was struggling to remain relevant. Founded during the height of the Cold War as a conclave for NATO allies, the MSC still attracted stalwarts (including then-U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, who first attended in the 1970s), but had lost much of its flair and relevance. Nearly 90 percent of the attendees were male, and the vast majority were over 50.

With guidance from his friends at McKinsey, Ischinger accelerated the MSC’s makeover, expanding its calendar of exclusive events, including at the ritzy Schloss Elmau hotel in the Bavarian Alps, and bringing on dozens of new corporate sponsors.

By 2014, the number of sponsors rose to nearly 30 from just six in 2010 and contributions jumped to more than €2 million, according to internal records viewed by POLITICO.

Even as the money rolled in, however, Ischinger’s advisory board — which at the time included several German CEOs, a Saudi prince and a former governor of Bavaria — was wary of overextending the organization and earning a reputation for sacrificing substance for financial gain, according to the internal documents. Above all, they didn’t want the MSC to turn into a copy of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

“The beauty of the MSC is its limited, focused, serious substantial and non-commercial character in comparison to Davos, which is an acquisitive ‘money-making machine’ and networking event,” reads an internal summary of the board’s view.

The board’s advice was to “keep the sponsors group small” and “discreet.”

Ischinger had his own ideas, however.

      Pooling Resources
In von der Leyen, who became defense minister in late 2013, a role that also gave her a big say in the conference, Ischinger won a ready ally, people close to the MSC said. And with Suder, McKinsey’s former Berlin chief, at von der Leyen’s right hand, Ischinger had a direct line into the defense ministry. It was during von der Leyen’s tenure that the partnership between McKinsey and the MSC flowered.

Von der Leyen and Suder had vowed to reform and modernize Germany’s dysfunctional Bundeswehr, or army. The MSC was a perfect opportunity to showcase what they promised would be a new dawn in German security policy.

“If we Europeans want to remain a serious actor in security policy, we have to pool planning and action,” von der Leyen told the conference in her first major address there in early 2014, echoing the line articulated by Ischinger and McKinsey at their “Future of European Defence Summit” a few months earlier.

Following von der Leyen’s speech, the chief executives of the defense contractor Raytheon and the aerospace company Airbus took the stage along with former NATO Secretary General Javier Solana. Frank Mattern, a senior director at McKinsey, introduced them.

For the consultancy, the choreography couldn’t have been better.

      The Ghostwriters
A year later, the MSC unveiled its first Munich Security Report: “Collapsing Order, Reluctant Guardians.” In his introduction, Ischinger describes the report as a “conversation starter” for the conference, which took place shortly after publication.

It was also an opportunity for McKinsey to define the agenda.

“Europe could save 13 billion euros annually by pooling defense procurement,” the report claims in its opening chapter, citing McKinsey.

In the acknowledgments, the report cites McKinsey in the middle of a laundry list of think tanks and government ministries for “research and input.” What it doesn’t reveal is that the report was largely conceived and funded by the consultancy.

People close to the MSC say the organization took pains to conceal the extent of McKinsey’s involvement. Though the name of a McKinsey consultant, Kai Wittek, is listed as a member of the “editoral team,” his affiliation wasn’t mentioned. In fact, Wittek — one of the authors of the 2013 McKinsey report that emerged from the firm’s initial collaboration with Ischinger — was dispatched to the MSC for months to work on the report, according to people familiar with the matter.

Wittek, who now works for a German defense contractor, did not respond to a request for comment.

The MSC said in a statement it “has always held full editorial control over the Munich Security Report” and that it was “committed to transparency regarding all its partnerships.” It said that its cooperation with outside partners was always labeled. In McKinsey’s case, the firm provided support for the report with graphic design, production and proofreading, “areas where the MSC did not have resources and capacities of its own.”

Though McKinsey has regularly been listed in the acknowledgments of MSC reports and as a sponsor for individual articles, such as a 2019 piece on artificial intelligence, the extent of its involvement has been deeper, with the firm even footing the bill for the reports’ print production, according to people close to the conference.

In 2016, another McKinsey man, Quirin Maderspacher, joined the team alongside Wittek. Maderspacher said that for the 18 months he worked directly on the editorial content of the reports, he had a contract with the MSC. He subsequently returned to McKinsey as a “senior associate.” Though he continued to work with the MSC it was only for projects directly sponsored by McKinsey, he said.

The MSC said some McKinsey employees have worked for the MSC under the firm’s so-called “social leave program,” under which staff members are granted a sabbatical to join a non-profit organization. The key McKinsey partners involved in managing the MSC relationship, however, were not pursuing charity work, the current and former employees of the conference said.

This group included Mattern, senior partner Wolff van Sintern, a specialist in aerospace and defense, and Gundbert Scherf, a McKinsey partner who left the firm in 2014 to work for von der Leyen and Suder at the defense ministry before returning to McKinsey in 2017. None of the three men, all of whom have since departed McKinsey, responded to requests for comment.

Over the years, McKinsey sought to shift the report’s focus toward issues important to their clients, from cybersecurity to drones, people close to the conference say. The MSC contributors were for the most part recent graduates and inexperienced, making it easier for the senior consultants to push their line, the people said. Still, McKinsey was careful to stay in the shadows. In addition to guiding the direction of the reports, McKinsey offered advice on how to structure the conference program and even whom to invite, the people close to the MSC said.

So it went until 2020, when, amid the parliamentary investigation into McKinsey’s contracts with von der Leyen’s defense ministry, the MSC offered a fuller accounting of its own engagement with the firm.

That year’s report listed the names of nine McKinsey employees in the acknowledgments, thanking them for “their contribution to the report,” and “support in the design and layout process.”

      A copy of Davos

The collaboration paid off for Ischinger in other ways. His experience with McKinsey helped inspire him to start his own consultancy, Agora Strategy Group, in 2015, former associates said. Like McKinsey, Agora has operated behind the scenes of the MSC, drawing unwelcome scrutiny, though few repercussions.

“Given the long-standing partnership between the MSC and McKinsey & Company, Ambassador Ischinger has, over the course of a decade or more, been in touch with a number of senior McKinsey executives just like with the leaders of the many partners and sponsors of the MSC,” the MSC said.

Ischinger stepped down from the day-to-day running of the MSC last year, but still heads the foundation that oversees the event.

His ties to McKinsey continue to run deep. For example, the firm has helped to fund the Hertie School, a private university in Berlin, where the former ambassador set up a center for international security. After leaving the defense ministry, Suder joined Ischinger at the center as a “senior fellow” and is also a trustee. Her former McKinsey colleague Mattern, another Ischinger confidant at the MSC, became the head of Hertie’s board of trustees. Though they’ve left the firm, their influence on the conference continues to reverberate.

Ischinger and his collaboration with McKinsey has also left its mark on the nature of the conference itself. With annual revenue of more than €12 million and about 100 sponsors (including McKinsey), the MSC is well on its way to becoming what a decade ago its advisory council feared: a copy of Davos.

I must admit that sometimes I scratch my puzzler, when I watch geopolitical influence agents say the quiet part out loud, and yet no one seems to pay any attention.

In case you missed it – a few days ago (2/14/23), NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stepped in front of the cameras for an impromptu presser following a meeting of the NATO Defence Ministers at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Stoltenberg openly tells western media that NATO has been in a war against Russia since 2014. That’s when the combined effort of western political leadership, led by the U.S. State Department and NATO forces, overthrew the former Ukraine government and established the country as the center for strategic military operations against Russia. This isn’t the first time Stoltenberg has made this admission.

Against this backdrop, the February 2022 military incursion by Russia into eastern Ukraine (Donbas region), can be viewed as a counter-offensive against the NATO advancement; yet, almost no one in western media seems to hold these NATO admissions as a reference point in their outlines of the conflict.

Biden Can’t Explain Away the Chaos on the Border
    By Justin O. Smith

It doesn’t matter that many illegal aliens are good and decent people when they are breaking U.S. law and jumping in front of millions of others, who are attempting to come to America legally. So many thousands more are committing well documented rapes, assaults, robberies, and murders by the thousand each year, at a rate that has grown exponentially with the Biden regime’s immediate reversal of President Trump’s effective border policy. And to hear Joe Biden tout his actions on the border during the recent State of the Union address was sickening, dishonest, and evil to the core, as he attempted to convince the American people that an extremely out-of-control and serious problem doesn’t exist on the southern border, a problem of his making that continues to be facilitated by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Speaking to the L.A. Times in June of 2017 about her husband’s murder, which occurred thirty miles from the border in southeast Arizona in 2010, Sue Krentz stated, “It wasn’t a U.S. resident who shot him. You show me which U.S. resident it was. Give me their name and address. … There’s not a house for seven miles.”

In his book Far Beyond the Border Fence, George Alan Kelly makes the following observation:

Stopping construction of the Border Wall was just a ploy taken by Washington politicians trying to buy the votes of Hispanics living legally and illegally in the U.S.

Kelly also just happens to be a seventy-three year old rancher from Kino Springs, Arizona, a mile and a half from the Mexican border, who shot and killed Gabriel Cuen-Butimea, an illegal alien with a long history of deportations from the U.S. Kelly asserts that he took fire, which more than likely prompted him to return fire. Cuen-Butimea’s body was found a little over 100 yards away from Kelly’s house, and if one of the two rifles confiscated by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department prove to have been the illegal alien’s, there isn’t a jury in Arizona that will convict Kelly in good conscience, especially with Arizona law providing for lethal action to protect one’s life and home.

Rather than charge Kelly with murder, arrest him, and hold him on a million dollar bond, authorities should have shaken his hand and let him get on with his life and back to his elderly wife, who is now left to fend for herself on a dangerous section of border.

Make no mistake: many of these people trying to make it to America are already illegal aliens by the fact that they entered Mexico illegally, too, and they’re often dangerous criminals or terrorists. And if they truly are asylum-seekers fleeing political or religious persecution or a sex-slave situation, international law and treaties agreed upon by the U.S. and most nations of the United Nations demand that they seek asylum in the first nation they enter where the threat no longer exists.

Some have taken exception to my referencing illegal aliens as “illegal aliens” before they ever cross the Rio Grande, but if they are Other-Than-Mexican in Mexico without proper papers and authorization, they are illegals. If they cross the U.S. southern border without going through an official port of entry and without a valid passport or visa, they are illegal aliens, pure and simple.

    As I observed in 2013:

Under Article 32 of the Mexican Constitution, a person cannot immigrate Amnesty by any Other Name – American Thinker to Mexico without first demonstrating a particular skill or potential usefulness; Article 34 requires immigrants to have the means to support themselves; applicants for legal immigrant status are screened for mental illness and prior criminal acts as outlined by Article 37. And, entering Mexico illegally is a felony punishable by 5 years in prison and a 5,000 peso fine; more importantly, only citizens of their republic can take part in the politics of the country, according to Article 133.

Why aren’t these “asylum-seekers” seeking asylum in Mexico? It’s because they aren’t asylum-seekers. They are simply looking for the economic opportunities afforded people in the U.S. and all the free stuff they can collect. And even then, we have seen them reject American charity as not being good enough, as they trashed $500-a-night rooms in the Watson Hotel in Hell’s Kitchen and threw away perfectly good food and supplies they had been provided by various NGOs and the federal government, after being told they were being moved to a regular, perfectly good shelter facility.

Ranchers and many average citizens all along the border are worried and often frightened by the massive groups that seemingly appear from nowhere on their properties, and although many pass by without incident, far too many stop and do great harm to Americans like Krentz and Kelly, or they glide out of the border areas to create chaos and carry out their deadly mayhem in the interior of America. The proof is found in a well documented exponential increase in drug cartel activity throughout the country.

Suggesting that only Congress could solve the problem by passing “comprehensive immigration reform” and providing a pathway to citizenship for DREAMers, Biden was essentially calling for Congress to come together to pass another amnesty for some 40 million illegal aliens currently residing in America. He also called for more equipment to be used to help the Border Patrol secure the border, although he full well knows that his policy has been a massive program and mission to facilitate more illegal immigration and flood the country with millions of illegal aliens, as seen through Mayorkas’s orders to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the U.S. Border Patrol.

Nearly six million illegal aliens have entered the U.S. under Biden’s watch, and it is ludicrous for him or anyone in his regime to state that they have the border situation “under control” when they so obviously don’t, and millions of more illegals are already on the way. These Democrats aren’t pursuing or advocating some minor difference on governance regarding immigration policy. They are maliciously abandoning all legal restrictions on immigration and actively refusing to enforce standing U.S. immigration law, in a manner that can only be called treasonous at the least, Machiavellian and evil to its core.

One need not be surprised when the country starts witnessing many more illegals shot along the border, or in the interior in the commission of a crime, as tensions rise across the country and Americans do what the federal government refuses, defending their own lives and property, in the same manner as George Alan Kelly did.

None of this would be happening if Joe Biden would actually enforce existing U.S. immigration laws and fully, completely, and properly secure the border, through the wall and any manpower necessary to get the job done right. This mess is his doing, it’s intentional, and he and other Democrats may soon reap what they have sown.

  10. globe and mail – Feb 17 2023 –CSIS documents reveal Chinese strategy to influence Canada’s 2021 election

China employed a sophisticated strategy to disrupt Canada’s democracy in the 2021 federal election campaign as Chinese diplomats and their proxies backed the re-election of Justin Trudeau’s Liberals – but only to another minority government – and worked to defeat Conservative politicians considered to be unfriendly to Beijing.

The full extent of the Chinese interference operation is laid bare in both secret and top-secret Canadian Security Intelligence Service documents viewed by The Globe and Mail that cover the period before and after the September, 2021, election that returned the Liberals to office.

The CSIS reports were shared among senior government officials and Canada’s Five Eyes intelligence allies of the United States, Britain, Australia and New Zealand. Some of this intelligence was also shared with French and German spy services.

Over the past decade, China, under President Xi Jinping, has adopted a more aggressive foreign policy as it seeks to expand its political, economic and military influence around the world.

MPs on the Commons Procedure and House Affairs committee are already looking into allegations that China interfered in the 2019 election campaign to support 11 candidates, most of them Liberal, in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Drawn from a series of CSIS intelligence-gathering operations, the documents illustrate how an orchestrated machine was operating in Canada with two primary aims: to ensure that a minority Liberal government was returned in 2021, and that certain Conservative candidates identified by China were defeated.

The documents say the Chinese Communist Party leadership in Beijing was “pressuring its consulates to create strategies to leverage politically [active] Chinese community members and associations within Canadian society.” Beijing uses Canadian organizations to advocate on their behalf “while obfuscating links to the People’s Republic of China.”

The classified reports viewed by The Globe reveal that China’s former consul-general in Vancouver, Tong Xiaoling, boasted in 2021 about how she helped defeat two Conservative MPs.

But despite being seen by China as the best leader for Canada, Beijing also wanted to keep Mr. Trudeau’s power in check – with a second Liberal minority in Parliament as the ideal outcome.

In early July, 2021 – eight weeks before election day – one consular official at an unnamed Chinese diplomatic mission in Canada said Beijing “likes it when the parties in Parliament are fighting with each other, whereas if there is a majority, the party in power can easily implement policies that do not favour the PRC.”

While the Chinese diplomat expressed unhappiness that the Liberals had recently become critical of China, the official added that the party is better than the alternatives. Canada-China relations hit their lowest point since the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre after December, 2018, when Beijing locked up two Canadians in apparent retaliation for Ottawa’s arrest of a Chinese Huawei executive on an extradition request from the United States.

Most important, the intelligence reports show that Beijing was determined that the Conservatives did not win. China employed disinformation campaigns and proxies connected to Chinese-Canadian organizations in Vancouver and the GTA, which have large mainland Chinese immigrant communities, to voice opposition to the Conservatives and favour the Trudeau Liberals.

The CSIS documents reveal that Chinese diplomats and their proxies, including some members of the Chinese-language media, were instructed to press home that the Conservative Party was too critical of China and that, if elected, it would follow the lead of former U.S. president Donald Trump and ban Chinese students from certain universities or education programs.

“This will threaten the future of the voters’ children, as it will limit their education opportunities,” the CSIS report quoted the Chinese consulate official as saying. The official added: “The Liberal Party of Canada is becoming the only party that the PRC can support.”

CSIS also explained how Chinese diplomats conduct foreign interference operations in support of political candidates and elected officials. Tactics include undeclared cash donations to political campaigns or having business owners hire international Chinese students and “assign them to volunteer in electoral campaigns on a full-time basis.”

Sympathetic donors are also encouraged to provide campaign contributions to candidates favoured by China – donations for which they receive a tax credit from the federal government. Then, the CSIS report from Dec. 20, 2021 says, political campaigns quietly, and illegally, return part of the contribution – “the difference between the original donation and the government’s refund” – back to the donors.

A key part of their interference operation is to influence vulnerable Chinese immigrants in Canada. The intelligence reports quote an unnamed Chinese consulate official as saying it’s “easy to influence Chinese immigrants to agree with the PRC’s stance.”

China wants to build acceptance abroad for its claims on Taiwan, a self-ruled island that it considers a breakaway province and still reserves the right to annex by force. And it seeks to play down its conduct in Xinjiang, where the office of former UN Human Rights commissioner Michelle Bachelet last year said China has committed “serious human-rights violations” in the region, which may amount to crimes against humanity.

Similarly it wants to generate support for a draconian 2020 national-security law to silence opposition and dissent in Hong Kong, a former British colony that Beijing had once promised would be allowed to retain Western-style civil liberties for 50 years.

Beijing also seeks to quell foreign support for Tibet, a region China invaded and annexed more than 70 years ago, and to discourage opposition to Beijing’s militarization of the South China Sea and sweeping maritime claims in the region.

A month after the September, 2021, vote, CSIS reported that it was “well-known within the Chinese-Canadian community of British Columbia” that Ms. Tong, then the Vancouver consul-general, “wanted the Liberal Party to win the 2021 election,” one of the reports said.

CSIS noted that Ms. Tong, who returned to China in July, 2022, and former consul Wang Jin made “discreet and subtle efforts” to encourage members of Chinese-Canadian organizations to rally votes for the Liberals and defeat Conservative candidates.

CSIS said Mr. Wang has direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front Work Department (UFWD), a vast organization that uses mostly covert and often manipulative operations to influence overseas ethnic Chinese communities and foreign governments. CSIS said Mr. Wang served as an intermediary between the UFWD and Chinese-Canadian community leaders in British Columbia.

In early November, 2021, CSIS reported, Ms. Tong discussed the defeat of a Vancouver-area Conservative, whom she described as a “vocal distractor” of the Chinese government. A national-security source said the MP was Kenny Chiu. The Globe and Mail is not identifying the source, who risks prosecution under the Security of Information Act.

The source said Mr. Chiu was targeted in retaliation for his criticism of China’s crackdown in Hong Kong and his 2021 private member’s bill aiming to establish a registry of foreign agents, an effort inspired by similar Australian legislation to combat foreign interference. The United States has a long-standing registry; Canada is still studying the matter.

Mr. Chiu, who was elected to represent Steveston–Richmond East in 2019, lost the 2021 federal election to Liberal candidate Parm Bains and is widely believed to be a victim of a Beijing-led online disinformation campaign.

According to CSIS, Ms. Tong talked about China’s efforts to influence mainland Chinese-Canadian voters against the Conservative Party. She said Mr. Chiu’s loss proved “their strategy and tactics were good, and contributed to achieving their goals while still adhering to the local political customs in a clever way.”

In mid-November, CSIS reported that an unnamed Chinese consular official said the loss of Mr. Chiu and fellow Conservative MP Alice Wong substantiated the growing electoral influence of mainland Chinese-Canadians.

Former federal Conservative leader Erin O’Toole has alleged that foreign interference by China in the 2021 election campaign, using disinformation, cost the party eight or nine seats. The Liberals won 160 seats compared with 119 for the Conservatives, 32 for the Bloc Québécois and 25 for the NDP, while the Greens picked up two seats.

While the Conservative Party’s overall share of the popular vote increased slightly in the election, the party lost a number of ridings with significant Chinese-Canadian populations. These included the defeat of incumbents such as Mr. Chiu, Richmond Centre MP Ms. Wong and Markham–Unionville’s Bob Saroya.

However, the Security and Intelligence Threats to Elections (SITE) Task Force set up by the Trudeau government to monitor threats to federal elections never issued any public warning about foreign interference during the 2019 or 2021 campaigns.

Mr. Trudeau has said it found no meddling, telling the Commons in November of last year that the task force “determined that the integrity of our elections was not compromised in 2019 or 2021.” He also told reporters that “Canadians can be reassured that our election integrity held” in the two elections.

The Globe has reported that the Prime Minister received a national-security briefing last fall in which he was told China’s consulate in Toronto had targeted 11 candidates in the 2019 federal election. CSIS Director David Vigneault told Mr. Trudeau that there was no indication that China’s interference efforts had helped elect any of them, despite the consulate’s attempts to promote the campaigns on social media and in Chinese-language media outlets.

Nine Liberal and two Conservative candidates were favoured by Beijing, according to the national-security source. The source said the two Conservative candidates were viewed as friends of China.

Justin Trudeau, the Liberal Prime Minister of Canada, finds himself up against increasingly vocal demands that he be ousted. Opposition to his authoritarian regime is growing amid concerns about a sham inquiry into his abuse of the Emergencies Act and revelations that Canada’s spy agency warned about Communist Chinese interference in Canadian elections, but Trudeau did nothing to stop it.

Chinese diplomats quietly issued warnings to “friendly” influential Canadians in early 2022, advising them to “reduce their contact with federal politicians to avoid being caught up in foreign-interference investigations by Canada’s spy agency,” the Globe and Mail reported in a bombshell story that is rapidly circulating among the Canadian population.

ctv news – Protesters rally on Parliament Hill on anniversary of ‘Freedom Convoy’ removal

A group of “Freedom Convoy” supporters rallied on Parliament Hill and marched through downtown Ottawa Saturday on the anniversary of the police operation to remove the entrenched convoy protesters from Ottawa.

A massive police operation with hundreds of officers began Feb. 18, 2022 to push out the protesters who had occupied downtown Ottawa streets for three weeks. It would take multiple days to clear the parliamentary precinct.

The rally on Parliament Hill Saturday comes a day after Justice Paul Rouleau released his findings into the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act to quell the convoy protests in Ottawa and at border crossings in Alberta and Manitoba, which found, “with reluctance”, that the government was justified in using the legislation.

Protesters could be seen with many of the usual symbols and signs of the “Freedom Convoy” movement, including anti-vaccine messages and denouncements of the prime minister.

“I was removed last February with everyone else from the city when the Emergencies Act was invoked,” said Jeremy Glass. “Basically, my purpose is to protest my federal government and to practice my right to free assembly and freedom of speech and to be acknowledged by the federal government.”

Olga Jenney, a protester who came to Ottawa from Toronto, said she disagreed with Rouleau’s report finding that the protest was unsafe and chaotic.

“Personally, I don’t feel that it was an occupation. It was a group of individuals protecting their families,” Jenney said. “None of it, to my view, was hostile, or dangerous. It was peaceful.”

Counter-protesters were also on the hill to oppose the pro-convoy demonstrators.

“(I’m here to) show solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and remind the convoy that Ottawa doesn’t appreciate their actions,” said Gary, who did not give his last name. “We remember what we they did to us a year ago.”

Police kept the two sides separate.

The Ottawa Police Service stepped up its presence in downtown Ottawa Saturday because of the possibility of protests on another convoy-related anniversary and in the wake of the Public Order Emergency Commission report. There are increased parking restrictions throughout downtown Ottawa. Access to Parliament Hill was limited and the Parliamentary Protective Service warned demonstrators that several items are prohibited, such as fireworks, alcohol, and weapons. Wellington Street remains closed to vehicular traffic.

Police later advised residents of a march through downtown Ottawa and the ByWard Market. Police temporarily blocked access to Sparks and Elgin streets to prevent the protest from disrupting Winterlude events.

Rideau-Vanier Coun. Stéphanie Plante said people have the right to protest, but not to occupy streets for weeks.

“We know with the commission some people may be aggravated, happy or unhappy with that, and they may want to take to the streets to protest, and they have every right to protest, but they don’t have a right to take over our streets for weeks and weeks on end,” she said. “I think that we are not going to see a protest like we saw a year ago ever again in this city. We are seeing more and more collaboration between the different levels of law enforcement, between the feds and the province.”

Plante said she thinks the federal government should help shoulder some of the financial burden of having to field extra police during protests against the federal government.

“The police are in place and going forward now we have to figure out is this the way it’s going to be,” she said. “If it is, then we need to ask the feds for more money for the police response because these protestors are angry at the federal government, they are not angry at the municipal government.”

Ottawa police are the police of jurisdiction throughout downtown Ottawa, including Wellington Street in front of the Parliament buildings. Ottawa city council has voted to reopen the street to vehicles in the short-term this spring, but discussions continue with the federal government about the future of the historic street that became the epicentre to the “Freedom Convoy” demonstration.

    Cows targeted, ‘coyotes’ welcomed?
    By Eric Utter
U.S. government officials have told wildlife “experts” in New Mexico to go ahead and start killing feral cows in the Gila Wilderness area just north of the Mexican border. U.S. Forest Service managers recently approved a plan to use helicopters carrying multiple gunmen to eliminate the roughly 150 wayward cows that have reportedly acted aggressively toward visitors and caused damage to sensitive areas of the world’s first designated wilderness area.

The Grant County Board of Commissioners approved the plan to take out the stray livestock, likely triggering legal challenges.

But Forest Supervisor Camille Howes said the decision to off the animals, though difficult, was necessary. She stated:

The feral cattle in the Gila Wilderness have been aggressive towards wilderness visitors, graze year-round, and trample stream banks and springs, causing erosion and sedimentation.

Many ranchers, however, opposed the decision, saying that the plan to shoot cows from a helicopter should be regarded as animal cruelty. Furthermore, they say the action would violate federal regulations and create a need for some group or entity to deal with all the carcasses left behind.

In related news, U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said that border patrol agents have seized enough fentanyl between the ports of entry so far this fiscal year (since October, in less than five months) to kill 100 million people; enough to, say, kill everyone living in California, Texas and New York. Ortiz added that agents in Arizona’s Yuma Sector recently encountered a single illegal migrant carrying 93 pounds of the deadly narcotic on his person.

    Ortiz also recently stated:

In the month of January alone, agents seized 55 firearms [and] over 6,800 pounds of narcotics, which included enough fentanyl to kill over 60 million people.

The narcotic can be fatal even in tiny doses, and is now the leading cause of death among U.S. adults ages 18 to 45. One month. 60 million people. Holy crap.

So, to recap, the government is more than willing to launch a deadly airborne assault on 12-dozen cows it claims are wreaking havoc on land near our southern border but will do nothing to stop millions of immigrants from streaming into the U.S. illegally (trampling crops and turning “deserts into dumping sites”), despite rampant sex and drug trafficking. And even though the fentanyl coming with them—in a single year—would be enough to (at least theoretically) wipe out two-thirds of the U.S. population.

Incredibly, those in the highest levels of the U.S. government, many of whom we supposedly elected, let a known Chinese spy balloon traverse the skies across the entirety of the United States, including those over our most sensitive military sites, all the while surveilling and reporting back to the Chinese Communist party—yet quickly and aggressively destroyed what appears to have been a $12 balloon from a hobby group based in northern

  14. Idaho House passes nonbinding measure calling for formal ‘Greater Idaho’ talks
    BY: CLARK CORBIN – FEBRUARY 15, 2023 3:26 PM

With a wink and a smirk the Idaho House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a nonbinding memorial calling for formal talks between the Idaho and Oregon legislatures to discuss moving some rural Oregon counties out of their state and into Idaho.

The proposal is rooted in the so-called Greater Idaho movement, which seeks to include about 11 counties, or 63% of Oregon’s landmass, within Idaho’s borders because proponents of the plan think eastern Oregon is more politically and culturally aligned with Idaho than Oregon’s larger progressive cities in the western part of the state.

Such a large-scale change to state borders hasn’t occurred since the Civil War, and moving the borders would require the Idaho Legislature, the Oregon Legislature and Congress to all sign off in favor of the change. The move would also likely require multiple amendments to the Idaho Constitution, which defines the state’s borders and caps the number of state legislative districts at 35.

  15. Biden administration, NORAD call off search for missing unidentified objects shot down over Alaska, Lake Huron

U.S. officials called off the search for two unidentified objects that were shot down off the coast of Alaska and Lake Huron last week, according to a joint statement from North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the U.S. Northern Command.

In the joint statement, released at 10 p.m. on Friday, the agencies recommended the search be called off as the objects are believed to have landed in difficult terrain. The Secretary of Defense agreed with this recommendation, they said.

“U.S. Northern Command recommended that search operations conclude today near Deadhorse, Alaska, and on Lake Huron, as search activities have discovered no debris from airborne objects shot down on Feb. 10 and Feb. 12, 2023. The U.S. military, federal agencies, and Canadian partners conducted systematic searches of each area using a variety of capabilities, including airborne imagery and sensors, surface sensors and inspections, and subsurface scans, and did not locate debris,” the joint statement read.

It continued: “In Deadhorse, Alaska, U.S. Northern Command worked closely with the Alaska National Guard Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command to position teams to expedite recovery should searches locate debris. Arctic conditions and sea ice instability informed decisions to conclude search operations in this location. Air safety perimeters will be lifted after flight operations conclude today.”

On Lake Huron, the Unified Command Group consisting of capabilities from U.S. Coast Guard District 9, the FBI, Canadian Coast Guard, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have not identified debris from the airborne object after multiple days of surface searches and subsurface scans. Air and maritime safety perimeters have been lifted,” NORAD and U.S. Northern Command said.

President Biden’s authorization to swiftly shoot down the unidentified flying objects came after he waited more than a week to shoot down a Chinese surveillance object that floated over or near military bases in several states including Montana, Missouri, and South Carolina.

The Chinese object, which was shot down and recovered off the coast of South Carolina, was also referenced in the joint statement.

“Recovery operations concluded Feb. 16 off the coast of South Carolina, after U.S. Nary assets assigned to U.S. Northern Command successfully located and retrieved debris from the high-altitude PRC surveillance balloon shot down Feb. 4, 2023. Final pieces of debris are being transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Laboratory in Virginia for counterintelligence exploitation, as has occurred with the previous surface and subsurface debris recovered. U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard vessels have departed the area. Air and maritime safety perimeters have been lifted,” the U.S. Northern Command and NORAD said.

Shortly after the initial object was shot down, federal officials said military officials were able to suppress surveillance capabilities the device was carrying as it floated across the country.

The U.S. military’s decision to cancel their search on Friday came just days after a local hobbyist group in Illinois suggested one of the objects the U.S. military shot down was one of their small, pico balloons.

The Northern Illinois Bottlecap Balloon Brigade’s (NIBBB) said their pico balloon was floating off the west coast of Alaska but went missing the same day a Lockheed Martin jet shot down an unidentified object matching its description.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and others later criticized Biden’s decision to authorize the $200 million F-22 Raptor fighter jet to use a $400,000 missile to shoot down what may have been a $12 balloon.

On Saturday, GOP Rep. Bill Johnson spoke with Fox News about the Feb. 3 disaster in which a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed near the town of East Palestine, Ohio, resulting in the town and surrounding area being polluted with toxic chemicals.

Johnson told Fox News that the residents of his constituency, which includes East Palestine, remain concerned and anxious as they are not getting straight answers about the disaster. “There are lots and lots of questions,” he said.

He also slammed the railway company, Norfolk Southern, which was responsible for the disaster, for not showing up to a town hall meeting for the community to ask those questions. “The rail company, Norfolk Southern, did not show up at the town hall meeting last night for them to be able to ask those questions.”

But he saved his most damning criticism for Joe Biden’s transportation secretary, Pete Buttigieg. He slammed Buttigieg for not showing his face following the disaster, giving him an “F” for his response to the situation.

In January House Oversight Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) announced an investigation into Hunter Biden’s art-selling scheme.

Rep. Comer sent a letter to Hunter Biden’s art dealer, Georges Berges, seeking information on anonymous purchasers of Hunter Biden’s garbage artwork.

“The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating President Joe Biden and his family’s foreign and domestic influence peddling schemes,” wrote Chairman Comer. “For over a decade, the Biden family has profited from Joe Biden’s positions as a public official. Your arrangement with Hunter Biden raises serious ethics concerns and calls into question whether the Biden family is again selling access and influence. Despite being a novice artist, Hunter Biden received exorbitant amounts of money selling his artwork, the buyers’ identities remain unknown, and you appear to be the sole record keeper of these lucrative transactions.”
