The number of medical incidents among U.S. military pilots that prompted official reporting increased by more than 1,700% from 2019 to 2022, a phenomenon the Pentagon blames on COVID-19, Military.com reported.

The Defense Medical Epidemiology Database (DMED) reveals that the number of reportable medical events among military pilots increased from an average of 226 per year between 2016 and 2019 to 4,059 in 2022, as reported by Dr. Theresa M. Long, an Army flight surgeon.

According to Dr. Long, she decided to look into DMED after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) secretly widened the EKG parameter range for pilots.

    • JP Morgan reaches agreement with Ukraine’s Zelensky on rebuilding infrastructure

JP Morgan, led by Jamie Dimon, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky with the eye on attracting private capital for a new investment fund to rebuild Ukraine’s infrastructure.

JP Morgan, the nation’s largest bank, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky with the eye on attracting private capital for a new investment fund to rebuild Ukraine’s infrastructure that has been destroyed in its war with Russia, FOX Business has learned.

JP Morgan bankers spent most of last week meeting with Zelensky and his senior staff where they discussed the creation of a fund seeded with $20 billion to $30 billion in private capital, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter.

Other ideas discussed with the Ukrainian president were the creation of a bank administered by Wall Street firms that would make investments in oil refineries, roads, bridges and other pieces of economic infrastructure destroyed in Vladimir Putin’s year-long campaign to annex the country and rebuild the old Soviet Union, these people add.

JP Morgan bankers were on the ground in Kiev and other cities, dodging bombs, and witnessing firsthand how the war has crippled the country’s economy. After a series of meetings with various ministers, they met directly with Zelensky on Friday night. As a gesture of goodwill on the eve of Sunday’s Super Bowl, the bankers also presented Zelensky with a New England Patriots jersey with the number “91,” to signify the year Ukraine gained independence from the old Soviet Union, these people say.

FOX Business is the first to report the possible creation of an investment fund and bank to help rebuild the country. People with knowledge of the matter say the plans for a fund or a bank are in the nascent stages and subject to change. J.P. Morgan declined to comment. The big bank is expected to make an announcement about its work in Ukraine on Monday. A representative for Zelensky couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.

The Russian invasion has been thwarted by stiff resistance from Ukrainianswith the assistance of billions of dollars in US and western aid. Still, Russia is said to control around 15% of the country, mostly in the east. While the Russian military has suffered significant casualties, its bombing of key cities such as Ukraine’s capital of Kiev as well as civilian and infrastructure targets has devastated the Ukrainian economy. The country is said to have a 30% unemployment rate even with men between the ages of 18 and 60 required to remain in the country to join the military or be subject to conscription.

Jamie Dimon, J.P. Morgan’s chief executive, has been particularly vocal about the consequences of the conflict, calling it “an inflection point for the Western world for a hundred years… Do we get our act together to help win this war, help the Ukrainians, help rebuild Ukraine?”

Dimon also believes attracting private capital will be key to Ukraine’s ability to fight off Russian aggression. Zelensky announced last week he would join the bank’s online investment summit with other major bank clients.

Privately, J.P. Morgan bankers met with Zelensky for hours last week, providing him with ideas on how to attract private capital. They also recommended that he invite major CEOs, like Apple’s Tim Cook, to the country to discuss economic development and that he meet with GOP lawmakers, such as the new House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. Some Republicans are skeptical about the billions in US aid being sent to the country, these people add.

They also said that weeding out corruption and eliminating graft in government will be key to attracting private capital. Zelensky was said to be receptive to the advice and understood that at some point the vast amounts of western aid to the country will come to an end and that private capital – which will demand a return for its investment – will be needed to rebuild, these people say.

Wall Street has long had its sights on helping rebuild Ukraine, eyeing future investment opportunities as the country moves beyond its war with Russia. BlackRock, the world’s largest money manager, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Zelensky as an investment advisor, and Goldman Sachs is also said to be eying opportunities.

China state-affiliated media outlet The Global Times reported on Sunday that authorities in China’s Shandong Province have spotted an unidentifiable flying object over the coastal city of Rizhao.

Authorities in China are now preparing to shoot down the UFO and have sent out a message to local fishermen to stay out of the waters until the operation is complete.

The new report by China comes less than 24 hours after the United States shot down a high-altitude object in Canada and 48 hours after the United States shot down another object in Alaskan airspace.

Previously, China claimed the surveillance balloon that flew over Montana and was shot down in South Carolina was a “atmospheric research instrument” however the US military refuted those claims.

Some liberal cities are planning to forbid police from making certain kinds of traffic stops.

You would think that after all the nonsense of ‘defunding’ the police and the crime problems that follwed, that the people who live in these cities would be tired of progressive law enforcement.

This is just going to make things worse.

    The Daily Caller reports:

Forget ‘Defund The Police’: There’s A New Movement To Handcuff The Cops

Leaders in multiple states and cities are embracing efforts to bar police from pulling drivers over for certain less-severe traffic violations, a move that some experts believe endangers public safety.
in Washington state are pushing a plan that would forbid police traffic stops conducted to address some lower-level traffic lawbreaking, and Oregon has already established a similar policy, while San Francisco is considering a city-wide plan of this kind after Los Angeles and Minneapolis instituted their own. Such restrictions could effectively impede enforcement against more serious offenses and put innocent civilians at risk, according to experts who spoke to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Heritage Foundation legal fellow Zack Smith said measures of this kind are “par for the course” in an ongoing “war on police officers across the county, basically handcuffing them, not allowing them to do their jobs.”

  13. JUDICIAL COUP: Biden Filling Courts with Radical Judges Who Will Put Politics Before the Law

How can you tell that the Biden judges will be far-left radicals? Because of their history and the example Obama judges give us.

Barack Obama filled the courts with radical judges who ignore the law for political purposes. Under President Trump’s Administration, these judges came out of the woodwork in their attempts to stop his agenda.

A cursory review of recent posts at TGP shows the following related to Obama judges.
In New York, a case was brought against the leadership of the ‘We Build the Wall’ movement. The people behind the case hated the average Americans who built a wall on the southern border when the Democrats were trying to prevent President Trump from protecting the country, upholding the law, and having the government build a wall on the border. The communist gang took Brian Kolfage, Steve Bannon, and others to court on BS charges. Then in one case, the Obama judge suppressed evidence that exonerated the plaintiffA cursory review of recent posts at TGP shows the following related to Obama judges.

Obama judge Amy Totenberg in Georgia to this day won’t release the Halderman report requested by the court covering the Dominion voting machines used in the state. CISA released a report that indicated that these machines had serious flaws that bad actors could manipulate to steal elections. Judge Totenberg won’t allow Americans to see the Halderman report that the CISA report was in response to.

In DC Obama Judge Christopher Cooper wouldn’t recuse himself from Dr. Simone Gold’s case covering her actions on Jan 6. The courageous doctor was in the Capitol calling for Americans to address COVID. Her house was raided by a gang of FBI agents and she was arrested.

Despite Judge Cooper knowing doctor Gold and having been rebuked by the doctor when asking her out on a date when in school, he didn’t recuse himself from the case. He then proceeded to through the doctor in prison for speaking inside the Capitol on Jan 6.

In Michigan, Obama Judge Linda Parker ignored President Trump’s case on the integrity of the 2020 Election raised by attorney Sidney Powell. It’s not clear if she ever looked at it. Then Judge Judge Linda V. Parker threw the case out. There were over 100 legal affidavits from Michigan citizens alleging fraud in the 2020 election in Michigan

Then after ignoring the evidence and the case and throwing it out, Judge Linda Parker charged Sidney Powell and eight other attorneys $175,000 for daring to bring the lawsuit in the first place.

Other Obama judges like Amy Berman Jackson should be in jail for her actions against Paul Manafort and Roger Stone based on the Russia collusion lie. She was part of the coup.

The list goes on and on. Now Obama/Biden are attempting to fill the courts with more corrupt political and woke judges.

FOX News reports on Biden’s latest actions:

The Democratic-controlled Senate is poised to approve another slate of President Biden’s judicial nominees with a history of working for left-leaning organizations that represent abortion interests, the gun control lobby, the American Civil Liberties Union and the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The judicial nominations are Biden’s way of “paying back the left-wing dark money groups who spent over a billion dollars to help elect him and Senate Democrats,” Carrie Severino, president of Judicial Crisis Network, told Fox News Digital.

“These nominees will happily deliver the left’s policy preferences from the bench, regardless of the law,” Severino added. “If confirmed, they will be some of the most radical judges in the country

The article goes on to describe the latest batch of political hacks the communist Democrats want in the courts. Southern Poverty Law Center lawyers and more.

    What a nightmare.

  16. Proposal allowing counties to bar gun discharge on private property advance, Dems kill GOP gun bills
    By MARIANNE GOODLAND ma***************@co**************.com Feb 9, 2023 Updated Feb 9, 2023 0

Colorado’s lawmakers have begun working on firearms legislation, including legislation to allow counties to bar discharging weapons on private properties, a proposal that has brought into sharp focus not just the ideological but also the rural and urban divisions at the state Capitol.

Already, the Democrat-dominated state House committees have dismissed the only two Republican bills introduced so far on the issue, while approving the first of what’s expected to be at least a half-dozen bills that members of the majority party insist will address gun violence.

Meanwhile, the two most anticipated bills — an assault weapons ban and legislation to allow gun victims to sue firearms manufacturers — await introduction.

House lawmakers on Wednesday approved a bill to lift state preemption that keeps a county from passing an ordinance to prohibit the discharge of a firearm on private property and in unincorporated parts of a county.

Rep. Judy Amabile, D-Boulder, who sponsored House Bill 1165, described it as a response to what’s happening in Boulder, Gilpin and Clear Creek counties, which, she said, is increasingly getting complaints from residents that neighbors

    • UK to work with France on new EU biometric entry/exit system

The United Kingdom and France confirmed their willingness to collaborate on the implementation of the new EU biometric entry system.

Last week, UK’s Transport Secretary Mark Harper met his French counterpart Clément Beaune in Paris in an effort to prepare the countries for the upcoming implementation of the EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES).

The EES is a biometric border control program to register travelers from third-countries every time they cross an EU external border. The new system will replace the current system of manual stamping of passports.

The EES was meant to take full effect in May 2022, but its deadline was recently delayed to the end of 2023 by European Union authorities.

The travel industry has expressed widespread concerns over the new system, fearing that the new biometric technology will cause border delays.

Despite all concerns, Harper confirmed the UK government’s commitment to working together with France to ensure the new border control program works for both countries and all passengers.

During the meeting with his French counterpart, Harper highlighted the importance of keeping “reliable, quick, and safe travel routes” between the two countries.

Harper also held a meeting with officials of the Getlink Group, the company that manages Channel Tunnel and Shuttle transportation between England and France. He emphasized the “UK’s willingness to support preparations ahead of the implementation of EES.”

Pilots who shot down the mysterious ‘high-altitude’ over Alaska say it ‘interfered with their sensors.’

The ‘object’ shot down over Alaska on Friday entered US airspace before it was detected, a senior US official told Fox News.
The official told Fox News the object was detected by the U.S. military while it was “over Alaska not far from the northern coast” on Thursday night.”

Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said the aircraft that took out the object was an F-22 flying out of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson out of Alaska.

  18. Empty Bins in a Wartime Environment: The Challenge to the U.S. Defense Industrial Base

The U.S. defense industrial base is not adequately prepared for the international security environment that now exists. In a major regional conflict – such as a war with China in the Taiwan Strait – the U.S. use of munitions would likely exceed the current stockpiles of the U.S. Department of Defense.

According to the results of a series of CSIS war games, the United States would likely run out of some munitions – such as long-range, precision-guided munitions – in less than one week in a Taiwan Strait conflict.

The war in Ukraine has also exposed serious deficiencies in the U.S. defense industrial base and serves as a stark reminder that a protracted conflict is likely to be an industrial war that requires a defense industry able to manufacture enough munitions, weapons systems, and matériel to replace depleted stockpiles…

    Description of objects

A US official said Sunday there has been caution inside the Biden administration on the pilot descriptions of the unidentified objects shot down over Alaska and Canada due to the circumstances in which the objects were viewed.

“These objects did not closely resemble and were much smaller than the PRC balloon and we will not definitively characterize them until we can recover the debris, which we are working on,” a National Security Council spokesperson said, referring to the suspected Chinese spy balloon.

Deputy Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh also noted the difference between the incidents.

“These objects shot down on Friday and Saturday were objects and did not closely resemble the PRC balloon. When we can recover the debris, we will have more for you,” she said Sunday

[…]The object appears to be a “cylindrical object” smaller than the Chinese surveillance balloon that was shot down previously, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand said at a news conference on Saturday.

BREAKING: Pentagon Doesn’t Rule Out Possibility We’ve Been Visited By Aliens

On Sunday afternoon, another high-altitude object was brought down by the US military over Lake Huron, US officials confirmed.

The Pentagon later said in a press conference that extraterrestrial activity has not been ruled out.

“I haven’t ruled out anything at this point,” said Glen D. VanHerck during a press conference on Zoom.

Today’s move marks the third consecutive day that an unidentified object was shot down in North American airspace.

Previously, an object was taken down over northern Canada on Saturday and another in Alaska airspace by a US F-22 on Friday. Additionally, last weekend, F-22s shot down a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon off the coast of South Carolina.

CNN – What officials are saying object shot down near Lake Huron looks like

US fighter jets shot down an object flying at 20,000 feet over Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and about to go over Lake Huron, a senior administration official told CNN.

  21. CBS – U.S. to test shots against bird flu outbreak, as Biden administration weighs poultry vaccinations

Federal scientists are gearing up to test the first vaccines in poultry against bird flu in years, as Biden administration officials say they have now begun weighing an unprecedented shift in the U.S. strategy to counter the growing outbreak.

The move comes amid mounting concern over the threat posed by the ongoing spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza over the past few years, which has devastated flocks of wild and commercial birds around the continent.

A record 58 million birds — mostly commercially-raised poultry — have died in the outbreak so far, according to figures tallied by the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service — either killed by the virus itself or put down in efforts to quash its transmission. Every state has detected the virus spreading among wild birds and 47 have spotted them in poultry.

“The decision to proceed with vaccination is complex, and many factors must be considered before implementing a vaccination strategy,” USDA spokesperson Mike Stepien said in a statement, adding that the inspection service is discussing the options and “soliciting input from many different industry stakeholders that would be impacted.”

While the Biden administration has so far not greenlighted the use of vaccines for highly pathogenic avian influenza, several shots had been licensed for potential use in previous outbreaks. Poultry are already regularly vaccinated for other diseases, like infectious bronchitis.

While animal vaccines can take years to be licensed, Stepien said some parts of the process can be accelerated for emergencies.

It is not yet clear whether vaccines are available that will work against clade 2.3.4.4b, the strain behind the current outbreak in the U.S.

“There are a lot of moving parts to this kind of testing. And some of it is just pure logistics of getting everything in place to do the testing, getting the vaccines that are updated, getting things from parties that are involved, different manufacturers,” said Erin Spackman, a virologist who studies avian influenza vaccines at the USDA.

While it is not always a requirement for animal shots to be licensed by the department, the trials will offer an early independent evaluation of how well a vaccine works in this case. Antibody studies suggest earlier vaccines might not be as well-matched against the strain now driving the current outbreak, prompting the need for tests.

“On the test, it’s a twofold reduction, but that makes it sound a lot closer related than it is. In vaccine-speak, it means it’s starting to drift away,” said Spackman.

Spackman said evaluating the vaccines can take three months, from when birds get their shot — often in the back of the neck or thigh — to studying their response to the virus after immunity develops.

Vaccine makers say they are also closely tracking deliberations by the U.S. and other countries over the possibility of poultry vaccination, as well as assessing their own shots.

A spokesperson for Merck Animal Health said the company has an “extensive, ongoing research program” developing vaccines that can work with so-called Differentiating Infected from Vaccinated or DIVA strategies — an approach that involves systematically hunting for the virus among vaccinated flocks, in hopes of preventing undetected spread among immunized birds.

    When to vaccinate poultry?
Officials have so far been wary of deploying vaccines against the outbreak, citing concerns that the use of the shots could make it harder to export American poultry products.

“What is the trigger point of when you might use vaccination? And that’s what they’re looking at. Is it so many birds in a poultry farms in an area getting infected? Or is it a certain amount of economic loss? Or is it because a neighboring state has the virus in poultry, and you’re concerned? So there’s those are really the tough, tough questions,” said poultry veterinarian David Swayne.

Before retiring to become a consultant, Swayne served for nearly three decades in the USDA’s infectious disease arm and was the director of the department’s top research facility for dangerous pathogens.

Swayne noted there are several high-income countries in Europe that are “further along” in exploring DIVA strategies that would work with poultry exports, after wrestling for years with their outbreak. Others, including Indonesia and China, have already rolled out poultry vaccinations for bird flu.

Under one approach, birds who die of any cause in a vaccinated flock could be aggressively tested for the virus, Swayne said, or live birds might be systematically sampled for antibodies in their blood through a more complex process. Surveillance may also be possible through swabbing the environment, like checking the containers birds drink water from.

“We want to make sure our partners understand that, if we use them, we’re going to use them in the right the right manner so that they can feel secure and safe that the products they buy are not products that might contain, say, a highly pathogenic avian influenza virus,” said Swayne.

Authorities would also need a way to coordinate tracking viruses for updates to the vaccines, potentially similar to how the World Health Organization issues recommendations for manufacturers of human flu shots to keep pace with the latest strains.

However, Swayne cautioned that poultry producers will still need to take steps to shield their flocks from contact with wild birds and other ways the virus could spread.

Like their counterparts abroad, American wildlife officials have spotted the virus decimating groups of birds across a range of species. Officials believe the virus is largely being transmitted to commercial poultry flocks by wild birds migrating across the Americas.

“Biosecurity really is the first line of defense, and any vaccination that might be done is only sort of another layer of protection, sort of an insurance policy,” he said.

Is it a threat to humans?

Authorities say the risk the virus poses to humans seems to be low for now, despite a 56% fatality rate among the handful of people who have tested positive after direct contact with infected birds.

Out of more than 6,000 poultry workers that American health authorities have tracked after exposure to infected birds, only one has tested positive for the virus.

Regardless, officials have urged Americans to avoid handling dead or sick birds to reduce their risk. The virus has spilled over from birds to other species, often from coming into contact with the carcasses of infected birds.

“Somewhat concerning is that there’s been transmission to mammals in a variety of terrestrial mammals, which are basically the most of them are predatory mammals,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Tim Uyeki told a webinar hosted by Emory University last month.

The federal Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response also already maintains a program with vaccinemakers to “make and test small quantities” of shots for humans that can be ramped up to large-scale production if needed.

“High on my radar. We’ve already been in touch with our teams as to where we are with both surveillance and detection, as well as our USDA colleagues on the detection in the avian population as well,” CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky told a panel of the agency’s advisers this week.

The Wall Street Journal reported the object shot down over by U.S. planes Lake Huron Sunday afternoon was “shaped like an octagon.” Rep. Jack Bergman (R-MI) said in an interview with Fox News a few minutes ago the object shot down by an F-16 that fired an AIM-9 Sidewinder missile was an “octagonal structure” over Lake Huron at about 20,000 feet. Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) implied in a statement the object was the same one tracked over Montana Saturday night (tweet posted further down in article. UPDATE: ABC confirms, and that Biden ordered shootdown, at end of article.)

“A F-16 fighter jet shot down the object, according to a Congressional aide, who said the object was shaped like an octagon and was at an altitude of 20,000 feet, posing a hazard to commercial aircraft.”

Reuters reported Saturday the object shot down over Canada’s Yukon territory was “cylindrical” (excerpt):

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau first announced Saturday’s shootdown over the northern Yukon territory, saying Canadian forces would recover and analyze the wreckage.

Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand declined to speculate about the origin of the object, which she said was cylindrical in shape.

She stopped short of calling it a balloon but said it was smaller than the Chinese balloon shot down off South Carolina’s coast a week ago, though similar in appearance.

Aloft at 40,000 feet (12,200 m), it posed a risk to civilian air traffic and was shot down at 3:41 EST (2041 GMT), she added.

TGP reported the pilots who shot down the object over Alaska Friday said it “interfered with sensors’ and that they saw no identifiable propulsion.

Military jets searched for but could not find an object detected by radar over Montana Saturday evening. Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) appeared to imply the object shot down over Lake Huron was the same object tracked over Montana, posting after the shootdown:

“Protecting Montana and our freedoms is my top priority, and I support the move to shoot down the object that invaded Montana’s airspace last night. I remain in contact with senior defense officials, and I’ll keep demanding answers for the public.”

A China spy balloon was shot down a week ago Saturday off the coast of South Carolina.

I’ve been in contact with the federal government and our partners who were tracking an object near our airspace. I’m glad to report it has been swiftly, safely, and securely taken down. The @MINationalGuard stands ready.”

    UPDATE: ABC News excerpt:

The object was shot down by a U.S. military aircraft, according to one of the officials.

A senior administration official said President Joe Biden directed that the object be shot down “out of an abundance of caution and at the recommendation of military leaders.”

This official said the object shot down was detected on radar over Montana on Saturday and was seen again on radar over Wisconsin and Michigan on Sunday.

The object was octagonal in structure, unmanned and traveling at about 20,000 feet, the official said. There is no indication of surveillance capabilities but the administration cannot rule that out.
