Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  1. Multiple Power Grid Facilities Receive Threatening Letters Following Substation Attacks, Authorities Say
    By Jim Hoft
    Published December 17, 2022 at 7:00am

A power plant in Lycoming County in Pennsylvania contacted state police after they received a threatening letter, according to North Central PA.

On December 6th, the Hamilton Patriot LLC power plant in Clinton Township notified police that they had received a threatening letter in the mail.

Authorities concluded that the threat was “non-credible,” as stated by Trooper William Reynolds.

According to Reynolds, the investigation revealed that other facilities around the U.S. had received similar letters.

The incident has been reported to and is still being investigated by several local law enforcement agencies.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that authorities are looking into an increasing number of reported threats to power infrastructure, in light of recent assaults on power substations in the South and on the West Coast.

According to recent reports, the FBI is investigating attacks in Washington and Oregon in November, after a massive power outage in North Carolina was caused by two substations being damaged by gunfire.

The Seattle Times reported that Puget Sound Energy, the Cowlitz County Public Utility District, and Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) have all said they are cooperating with a federal investigation into the attacks. However, the FBI has declined to confirm that it is conducting such an investigation.

An internal federal law enforcement memo warning of the recent attacks has been obtained exclusively by NewsNation.

“Power companies in Oregon and Washington have reported physical attacks on substations using hand tools, arson, firearms and metal chains possibly in response to an online call for attacks on critical infrastructure… In recent attacks, criminal actors bypassed security by cutting the fence links, lighting nearby fires, shooting equipment from a distance or throwing objects over the fence and onto equipment,” according to the memo.

    CNN reported:

Beyond this month’s incidents in South Carolina and North Carolina, where lights flickered back on Wednesday:

    • In Oregon, a substation in Clackamas was damaged in a “deliberate physical attack” over the Thanksgiving holiday, a Bonneville Power Administration spokesperson told CNN. “BPA operators discovered a cut perimeter fence and damaged equipment inside,” the spokesperson said, adding the company is working with the FBI on the incident.

    • In Washington state, “two incidents occur(ed) in late November at two different substations,” Puget Sound Energy spokesperson told CNN. “Both incidents are currently under investigation by the FBI,” it said, adding, “We are aware of recent threats on power systems across the country and take these very seriously.”

And two Cowlitz County Public Utility District substations were vandalized in mid-November in the Woodland area, agency spokesperson Alice Dietz told The Seattle Times. “At this time, we do not have any further comment … Our facilities have since been repaired,” Dietz told the Times. CNN has reached out to the FBI’s office in Seattle for comment.

      • The global chaos has begun. I doubt the European and American actions are coordinated, not yet anyway.

The terror campaigns are going to spread to all nations.

  2. Yesterday, in ‘Reader’s Links’, I posted a video that illustrated starkly (and, frankly, frighteningly) the post-modernist belief that there is no such thing as ‘free will’ and that therefore, we should not punish criminals for their actions.

Well, this is not just a post-modernist idea, but a deeply religious one that had caused ‘a lot of trouble’ in the past. Actually, more than ‘a lot of trouble’…

Here is one instance where it threw the UK, arguably the whole of Western Society, into existential crisis: during the reign of Charles I.

His reign was filled with troubles from the start: his father succeeded the first Elizabeth, even though she had reluctantly executed his own mom, but that is background noise. The key at the bottom of the religious strife that rocked (to put it mildly) the times was the difference in belief between Catholics and some forms of Protestantism that humans have free will and the Calvinists and some/other (there was overlap) Puritans of divine determinism (which, by the way, informs much Islamic philosophy).that there is no such thing and that a man’s (forgive the term) destiny is pre-determined from conception.

It seems to me that the current, post-modernist belief that people should not be punished for their crimes because they are a product of society/biology and therefore have no control over their criminal behaviour is – at its core- rooted in the Calvinist/Puritan religious belief system, even of the post-modernist thinkers are unaware of it.

It ought to be pointed out to them and called out for the religious prejudice it is.

OK – following is a video on the history of Charles I, it is long, but, it does justice to explaining the free will vs determinism religious basis in Christianity and makes it clear (with the benefit of hindsight) how post-modernism is a ‘slave to Christian dogma’

Go to roughly 27 – 30 min of the following video for more detail:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O53VC2766to

Yes, this is about Charles I so the info I speak of is diffused among many parts of it, but, the religious ideas that divided his society were moral determinism vs free will of the individual, something we are living through right now ourselves.

    • “determinism religious basis in Christianity”.

Determinism does not come from the Bible. So-called Christianity has adopted many unbibical doctrines.

Hindu’s I think believe in determinism.

Gods government is all about Free Will. That’s why Satan is still alive, he chose not to be part of Gods government.

Like millions of American parents who want their children to evade political, social, or sexual manipulation in our nation’s public schools, Mills has seen the problem and wants to fix it before it seeps into our local Florida communities.

The group that labeled itself the Election Integrity Project (the EIP) bragged about its scandalous actions in identifying news segments, sharing with partners, creating responses with little apparent regard for the truth, and then recommending the removal of the hosts that created the information related to the 2020 Election.

The fact that this group was thought through and created in the first place indicates that the Deep State corrupt government agencies, Big Tech, and non-profits were aware that there was going to be an attempt to steal the 2020 Election away from President Trump.

  5. FIRST PRINCIPLES
The Bad Faith Arguments Against Marriage Defenders
They assume that opponents act from irrational passion, because that is what, secretly and probably unwittingly, they assume all moral judgments to be.
    By Anthony Esolen

    December 15, 2022
It would be an interesting investigation to reverse the names of every major bill passed by Congress and signed into law by the president, and then see whether that does not better describe the result of the law, if not the intent of the lawmakers. Names, in our day, are advertisements, and advertisements, as we well know, appeal very rarely and only glancingly to reason, but mainly to passions, and among those usually to the most powerful prompts to hasty action, such as lust, fear, avarice, and vanity.

My observation certainly applies to the recently signed Respect for Marriage Act. Our lawmakers, far from taking care of this fundamental social institution, have, since the first flurry of court decisions and liberalizing laws regarding sex, marriage, and divorce 60 years ago, treated it at best with benign but culpable neglect.

They have long shrugged at the obvious obstacles the welfare state casts in the paths of the poor when it comes to getting young people married and ensuring that children are not conceived out of wedlock; they have cast their lot where money and power are, namely other people’s money, and their own power.

It is in no one’s immediate political interest to see working-class households headed by a reasonably well-paid husband, made solid by marriage whose sound laws would protect against both betrayal and easy dissolution, and made cheerful by innocent children thriving in moral order and security. Such households would be too modest to milk for campaign money, too healthy to fall under the power and control of the welfare state, and, just possibly, too firmly rooted in unalterable moral law to be swayed by the latest fads in mass politics, mass schooling, and mass entertainment—three heads of one infernal dog that can bellow your way into hell and bare his teeth lest you should ever attempt to get back out.

I speak of political interest in the strict sense. No one has a stake in the moral stability and the success of family life; Washington loses by it, and so does every state capital. But I am by no means accusing Joe Biden and those congressmen who have gone along with the biological and anthropological absurdity enshrined in this law, that a man can marry another man or that a woman can marry another woman, with the hatred of marriage that some advocates of the Respect for Marriage Act express, or with contempt for the working class. I make no claims about their feelings whatsoever, except to note that when we are not governed by clear moral law and by reasoning from premises to conclusions, we will find that our feelings line up remarkably well with our own economic and political interests. It is like Adam Smith’s famous “invisible hand,” not adjusting market prices to oil the economic machine, but fiddling in your pocket, jingling the coins of your social status and your self-opinion and making you feel quite good about them.

For the typical question asked of people who oppose the Act, and who defend the liberties of Americans who do not wish to help to celebrate what they consider, I believe correctly, to be gravely immoral, reveals a great deal more about those who ask it than about those called to answer it. This question is whether one could likewise oppose the marriage of a man and a woman of different races, or refuse them any special service, such as catering their wedding or announcing their marriage in a bulletin, and so forth.

Doubtless, in a nation of 330 million people, there is no form of wickedness that will not find a foothold here or there, and our history of racial bigotry is not a pretty one; though right now, you will find far more supporters of polygamy among the illuminati than, you will find among evangelical and conservative Christians, opponents of interracial marriage, which has become, I am pleased to say, common among them. Yet those who ask the question assume that the cases are analogous, when a moment’s consideration, or but a passing acquaintance with human history, would show that the analogy is embarrassingly bad.

Not the worst bigot in America at the time doubted that Roy Campanella’s father, an Italian, was married to Roy Campanella’s mother, an African-American. They knew very well that the two could marry; it was an obvious biological and anthropological possibility. They wanted to prevent such marriages, though they did not deny that they were marriages in fact. The definition of marriage was not in play. Nor was the welfare of children, or the raising of boys to become men and of girls to become women, and the expectation that they would be attracted to one another, that they would marry as their parents did, and beget children of their own in turn, in the natural and naturally human way.

The fact that Supreme Court justices, presumably possessed of a fair measure of brains, could suppose for a moment that the cases are alike, suggests that they themselves do not believe that moral judgments prescind rationally from moral premises, which premises are either axiomatic, so that insofar as we deny them we cease to be human at all, or are discoverable by reason, or perhaps both. They assume that opponents act from irrational passion, because that is what, secretly and probably unwittingly, they assume all moral judgments to be, that is, outbursts of feelings and no more.

It does not occur to them that the passions make for a fine engine but a bad tiller, as it does not occur to them that a man might support or oppose a thing and be right, regardless of whether his passions prompt him or even attempt to thwart him. Change the moral arena from sex to money. I might like the company of gamblers. I might believe that civil punishments against private gambling have often been at once too harsh and ineffective. I might regard the action itself with complaisance, as far as my passions are concerned. And I still might, by the use of my reason, conclude that it is wrong, and that it is evil for the state to encourage it, let alone to profit handsomely by it. To search my soul for the “real” motive is the job of my confessor, perhaps; it is not to the point in moral, legal, or political argument.

The man who wants to tear down an old building and put up a new one may or may not profit by the change; he may or may not love demolition for its own sake; but his motives for arguing as he does, even if we can know them, are not pertinent.

Let’s ask, finally, why even the justices of the Supreme Court and our representatives in Congress take for granted that expressions of moral judgment are little more than emotional splutters. It will no longer do to say that they have been taught so by bad philosophy in school, or from that all-pervading megaphone, the media. For moral reasoning requires time, patience, intellectual calm, and honesty; and sound political reasoning requires, in addition, broad experience of human affairs, experience that must be fortified by careful reading. And we are not likely to get any of that, not in our time. It is not a click or a shout away.

  6. BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: The 2021 Maricopa Audit Proved After Three Days that the 2020 Election in Arizona Was Uncertifiable (Part I)
    By Joe Hoft

After the 2021 Election, there was an unstoppable effort to get to the bottom of the 2020 Election in Arizona’s Maricopa County. Eventually, an audit was voted on, approved and performed in the Arizona GOP-led Senate.

There was much discussion then on who would perform the audit and where it would be performed. Eventually, it was determined that the audit would be performed at the Maricopa County Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

There also were months between when the audit was voted on and when it started.

The audit did occur, but based on the information we know today, the ballot count and review should have ended after three days.

Many good people volunteered and spent many hours counting and reviewing ballots during the 2021 audit of Maricopa County.

    They are not to blame.

A few weeks after the audit started a letter was sent to Maricopa County officials in May 2021 from the Arizona Senate and signed by Karen Fann. In this letter, the following was noted:

II. Chain of Custody and Ballot Organization Anomalies

As the audit has progressed, the Senate’s contractors have become aware of apparent omissions, inconsistencies, and anomalies relating to Maricopa County’s handling, organization, and storage of ballots. We hope you can assist us in understanding these issues, including specifically the following:

The County has not provided any chain-of-custody documentation for the ballots. Does such documentation exist, and if so, will it be produced?
The bags in which the ballots were stored are not sealed, although the audit team has found at the bottom of many boxes cut seals of the type that would have sealed a ballot bag. Why were these seals placed at the bottom of the boxes?
Batches within a box are frequently separated by only a divider without any indication of the corresponding batch numbers. In some cases, the batch dividers are missing altogether. This lack of organization has significantly complicated and delayed the audit team’s ballot processing efforts. What are the County’s procedures for sorting, organizing, and packaging ballot batches?
Most of the ballot boxes were sealed merely with regular tape and not secured by any kind of tamper-evident seal. Is that the County’s customary practice for storing ballots?
The audit team has encountered a significant number of instances in which there is a disparity between the actual number of ballots contained in a batch and the total denoted on the pink report slip accompanying the batch. In most of these instances, the total on the pink report slip is greater than the number of ballots in the batch, although there are a few instances in which the total is lower. What are the reasons for these discrepancies? For your reference, please see several illustrative (i.e., not comprehensive) examples in the table below:
Here is the letter from the Arizona Senate to the Maricopa County Supervisors

Exclusive Letter to Maricop… by Jim Hoft

Notice that the Senate shared that the boxes received were in terrible condition with bags unsealed and broken seals but no data was provided related to the number and percent of boxes not complying with the chain of custody practices. In addition, other material issues related to the audit were identified and the ballot issues were somewhat hidden.

In an interview with Ken Bennett two days later, Bennett shared with Jordan Conradson at TGP:

Well, we still don’t have the chain of custody documents that the county must have kept between when the ballots were put in the warehouse after the November election to when they were delivered to us on April 22nd. We know that one of the county officials tweeted out a photo of some of the ballot pallets being loaded into the back of a truck as though they were ready to deliver them to the Senate. And so we would like to see if their chain of custody documents between November and April include movement of the ballots like that. We have complete chain of custody from the day that they brought the ballots to us, while we’ve been holding the ballots. But we’re still looking for the chain of custody documentation between the election and April.

The other thing that I think was in President Fann’s letter was that as we open a lot of the boxes, we have kind of a subtotal sheet that says ‘below this is 200 ballots that were part of a batch that Maricopa County counted’ but a lot of times we’re finding a variance. Usually, it’s small, 2 or 3 ballots, but I heard one was 35. One was 165 ballots were present when the cover sheet said that there should have been 200. Even a 2 or 3 ballots per 200 batch is significant because the election Arizona was decided by 2 out of 800! So even if you have a 1 or 2 variance in a batch of 200 ballots, that’s a significant variance in a race that was as close as 2 out of 800.

Notice, again at this time there was no clear understanding of the number of ballot issues. We also learned that there is no chain of custody for the time period between the election and when they were delivered to the audit team.

In the final reports prepared by the auditors, they also don’t mention the number of ballots that were related to boxes that were unsealed or included in boxes where the ballots were broken. Ballot issues were noted but not tabulated.

In one of the final reports, the following was provided related to ballots counted in the audit.

These results were not accurate. The reason is that the ballots were tainted. They were tampered with.

Per our understanding, there were approximately 44 pallets of ballots with approximately 80 boxes of ballots on each pallet.

We received information that of the first 13 pallets of ballots that were audited, reviewed and counted over the first three days of the audit, each and every box of ballots on each and every pallet was tampered with. The seals were broken on every single box.

After three days, 25% of the ballots from the 2020 Election were counted in the county and all were contained in boxes that were tampered with. Every single ballot during the first three days of the review was obtained from boxes that were tampered with.

NONE of the ballots observed in the first three days of counting and review should have been considered valid. They were invalidated when their boxes were opened and their seals broken.

Unfortunately, this was not mentioned in the audit reports. It should have the first thing highlighted.

As a result, the results in Maricopa County and in Arizona in the 2020 Election were uncertifiable. There is no way they should have been certified for anyone, let alone Joe Biden. No way.

Will 2023 be a year when extremely destructive conflicts erupt all over the world? We are certainly already living in a time of “wars and rumors of wars”, and tensions are approaching the boiling point in a number of key global flashpoints right now. If several more major conflicts were to suddenly begin next year, we could potentially witness an extended period of geopolitical instability that would be unlike anything that we have ever witnessed. It is easy to start wars, but it is much harder to end them. If you doubt this, just look at what is going on in Ukraine. There is no end in sight for that conflict, and there are several other wars that could literally erupt at any time.

Japan Proposes Biggest Military Build Up Since World War II Amidst Russia/Ukraine War and Tensions Between Taiwan and China

On Friday, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida proposed a $312 billion plan to build up the Japanese military over the next five years. This would represent the largest buildup since World War II. Japan will rely on tax hikes rather than bonds to fund this spending.

This spending increase is due in part to the war in Ukraine with Russia, as well as growing hostilities between China and Taiwan, and North Korea with a nuclear weapons program underway.

The defense budget increase would put Japan in line with the 2% that is agreed to be budgeted for defense by NATO nations, even though Japan is not one of them. Japan did however, for the first time in history, join NATO nations at a Summit held in Spain last June.

A phenomenon has been developing in recent weeks that should raise our level of concern about the nature of public discourse, especially as brokered by the media.

It’s more than what the media, per se, are doing, however. It has to do with “news” that purports to be coming from government, but is backed by no actual evidence, and is unverifiable in terms of whether it came from government at all, much less could be held accountable in any way.

We’ll have some examples below that clarify what I’m talking about. To start with, however, a

For almost a year now, we have been dutifully tracking several key datasets within the auto sector to find the critical inflection point in this perhaps most leading of economic indicators which will presage not only a crushing auto loan crisis, but also signal the arrival of a full-blown recession, one which even the NBER won’t be able to ignore, as the US consumers are once again tapped out. We believe that moment has now arrived.

But first, for those readers who are unfamiliar with the space, we urge you to read some of our recent articles on the topic of car prices – which alongside housing, has been the biggest driver of inflation in the past 18 months – and more specifically how these are funded my the US middle class, i.e., car loans, and last but not least, the interest rate paid for said loans. Over 5 million illegals crossed into the US in Joe Biden’s first two years in office.

Border Patrol expects the numbers to surge next week if Title 42 is ended.

This is national suicide we are witnessing in real-time. Whoever Joe Biden’s handlers are, they sure despise the country they live in.

FOX News reporter Bill Melugin is covering the catastrophe at the border. The rest of the mainstream media is largely ignoring this man-made catastrophe.
