Reader’s Links for November 25th, 2022

Here is a link to the VladTepesBlog social media Mastodon Pod. Please feel free to check it out and sign up for an account if you are sufficiently annoyed with Twitter and Facebook to try something new.

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. “…To understand, you must understand what’s coming. Everything is about fuel. They understand this. If you think your world has become smaller in the last couple of years, well, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Thank you.”

Short and bald with a day-old beard smiling grey, the little man stepped off the riser. It gave him a bounce, doing this thing. Forty-one years ago he last stood on this same Speaker’s Corner here in London, and wasn’t time just the most greasy little bugger, he thought, slipping and slipping and slipping away. Well so be it, then, if this is the way of things.

“A fine delivery,” said a man in passing.
“Thank you,” he replied as he tucked his speech into the breast pocket of his overcoat. The man stopped.
“And no one sees a bloody ounce of it, yet.”
    “No, they don’t.”
“Yet they believe the most ridiculous things they are told to believe. Stupid things.”
“Well this is the point, isn’t it? Making you believe in the absurd is the key. It is the ultimate power grab–it is the receipt upon the owning of another human being.”

  2. Ghana now pays for oil with gold. How long will its leader last? Also, given the U.S. Fed-induced worldwide dollar shortage, how many other countries are being forced to consider paying in commodities in order to shore-up their dwindling dollar reserves. This is just the beginning until the Fed pivots.14 min:

    • Starts around 9:30. Not sure what time the #@!$%&^+()& is supposed to appear.
      Viva’s livestream feed:

      • I watched the Prime Minister of the World Economic Forum, I watched from start to finish and was absolutely thrilled to learn that he never called the unvaccinated any names. I wonder who the guy who asked if the racist uncaring superspreaders, should be tolerated was.

Now I am feeling ill, omg he shed on me.

      • Yeah, yeah, I wasted a lot of time, but I always like to see what comes out of the horses’s ass mouth.

  3. “…But here’s the rub: The central banks are (and have been) intentionally suppressing paper gold in order to take more physical delivery today before they inevitably reprice gold higher tomorrow to recapitalize their horrific balance sheets.

This trend is easy to see simply because the rigged game played by the broken actors described above is as easy to predict as their lack of wisdom is easy to measure.

As Egon and I have often remarked, the central banks are unwittingly gold’s best friend, for the bankers’ lack of wisdom and abundance of self-interest in otherwise desperate times makes them easy to track.

Or stated more simply: As the system gets more corrupt (as it always does when backed against a debt wall and a moral vacuum), gold gets more loyal.”

Another day on the rock pile.

Obama Judge John Tuchi in Arizona ruled on Wednesday afternoon, November 23, 2022, the day before Thanksgiving, that Maricopa County was justified in discriminating against TGP reporter Jordan Conradson and preventing him access to the County’s press room after another corrupt election disaster in the county.

Judge Tuchi who was appointed by Barack Obama to the District Court in Arizona waited until Wednesday afternoon, the day before Thanksgiving, to announce his ruling on the case between The Gateway Pundit and Maricopa County in Arizona.

How many people did Dr. Fauci kill?

How many thousand Americans died when Dr. Fauci and the CDC failed to promote any prophylaxis treatment or early action plans for infected COVID patients for over a year into the pandemic?

How many Americans died on ventilators or from Remdesivir?

How many Americans died when the FDA mocked the use of Ivermectin or banned the use of hydroxychloroquine to elderly or sickly Americans?

How many Americans overdosed on hydroxychloroquine during the COVID pandemic?

How come anti-cop protests were allowed but not church?

    Who created the COVID-19 variant?

  6. Hungary: Soros NGO Spent $4 Million to Oust Orbán with Opposition Including Neo-Nazis

An intelligence report prepared by Hungarian secret services, and published Nov. 23, revealed $ 7.5 million in illegal foreign funding behind the campaign of Hungary’s “United Opposition”, which tried in vain to defeat popular conservative Prime Minister Victor Orbán.

As Gateway Pundit reported, Biden, Berlin and Brussels worked together with the “United Opposition”, which included the neo-Nazi Jobbik party, to try and oust the Christian conservative Victor Orbán, to no avail. Orbán was reelected in April with his fourth two-thirds majority (67,84%) – 135 out of 199 seats in Parliament. Orbán called it “a victory so great that you can see it from the moon.”
We are thankful for the hundreds of millions [of Hungarian forints] of support coming from the United States,” said former PM candidate Péter Márki-Zay back in June, publicly admitting to receiving HUF 1.8 billion ($4.5 million) in support from the US-based “Action for Democracy” organization.

But the now-declassified intelligence findings have uncovered an additional HUF 1.2 billion ($3 million) in foreign funding. The more than HUF 3 billion (US $ 7.5 million) received by the Socialist-far-right coalition is nearly four times as much as Hungary’s state budget for campaign expenses.

    • Interesting. It will be quite a trick to fend off foreign interventions in the years ahead. Better off working for the fall of the Western Soviet. Funny how the “Iron Curtain” reversed polarity.

      • A lot of people predicted this is the 60s. I started believing it could happen when the radical left took control of the Dems party in 1972.

  7. Brazil World Cup Fans Chant “Lula, You Thief, You Belong in Jail!” as MiIitary Coup Looms

Hundreds of thousands of Brazilians continued to protest their stolen presidential elections while celebrating Brazil’s triumphant start in the World Cup, beating Serbia 2-0. Meanwhile, President Bolsonaro and leftist Judge Alexandre de Moraes met with various arms of the Military in what could be the run-up to a military confrontation or coup.

Richarlison scored one of the most sensational soccer goals ever, with a kung-fu spin kick, sending the ball past Serbian defender Milos Veljkovic in the 73rd minute. Soccer-loving Brazil went nuts. Despite the all-important match, the protests in the streets of Brazil continued to swell.

In Qatar, Brazilian fans chanted “Lula ladrão, seu lugar é na prisão” ( “Lula, you Thief, you belong in jail!”), criticizing socialist Presidential candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who was convicted of money laundering and embezzlement and sentenced to nine and a half years in prison in 2017 before the left-wing Supreme Court released him in 2019 and nullified the sentence in 2021

      ======================================

CARTA AOS OFICIAIS GENERAIS — O verdadeiro motivo e resultado da reunião no Planalto

Exmos. Srs. Oficiais Generais que compõem o Alto Comando das FFAA

Alte. de Esquadra ALMIR GARNIER SANTOS – Comte. da Marinha,

Gen. de Exército MARCO ANTONIO FREIRE GOMES –

Comte. do Exército,Ten.

Chair of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Bill Gates delivered multiple updates on the status of the 2022 Election in the county during the delayed counting of the ballots. After massive complications and corrupt acts on Election Day, many across the country believe the election is being stolen like it was in 2020.

Gates tries to come across as unbiased and professional, but the election in the state is anything but professional. It is a fraudulent mess.

Here is Gates trying to console those watching that everything is going fine and everything is ok. He comments:

Bill Gates: We’ve done this for years. This is how Arizona election law works. But we didn’t have this much attention on our elections and also our elections haven’t been as close historically as they’ve been recently.

  9. Trump’s Taxes, Vote Fraud Fight, Vax Awakening
By Greg Hunter On November 25, 2022 In Weekly News Wrap-Ups 4 Comments

Warfare like lawfare is like being waged against President Donald Trump. In the latest attack, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that Trump should turn over his taxes returns to vengeful communist Democrats in the House of Representatives. Trump expressed his outrage on his social media platform Truth Social by saying, in part, “It is unprecedented to be handing over tax returns, and it creates terrible precedent for future presidents. Has Joe Biden paid taxes on all of the money he made illegally from Hunter and beyond?” Of course, the Lying Legacy Media (LLM) will never report that Biden is a money launderer, tax cheat and is a traitor taking bribes from China.

The vote fraud fight is still going on in a few key states such as Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona. The LLM want to tell you to move on and there is nothing to see, but court cases are progressing and more fraud is being exposed every day. Of course, the leaders of both parties work together against “We the People.” The most powerful thing you can tell people is the truth, and the truth is getting out.

A top virologist for the FDA died suddenly this week and so did a 13-year-old boy. These two are just a few of the people who “died suddenly” all over the world where the vax was injected. The virologist pushed the vax for children and expectant mothers and was, no doubt, vaxed and boosted. But how does a perfectly healthy 13-year-old collapse trying out for the basketball team? Was he vaxed too? Are we supposed to believe that people just drop over dead these days for no reason? People are waking up to the truth in many areas, and that is what I am thankful for this Thanksgiving.

  10. bloomberg – Greta Thunberg Sues Her Native Sweden for Failing on Climate

Climate activist is among 600 plaintiffs in Swedish case
Lawsuit part of a wave of climate action targeting governments

A group of children and young adults including Greta Thunberg have filed a class action lawsuit against the Swedish state for failing to take adequate measures to stop climate change.

The lawsuit is part of an international wave of climate-related legal action, some of it targeting national governments.

It follows a high-profile case in the Netherlands, where the country’s highest court ruled in 2019 that the government had a legal obligation to take action to mitigate global warming.

The Swedish suit involves Thunberg, possibly the world’s best known climate activist, and more than 600 others who claim that Sweden’s climate policies violate its constitution as well as the European Convention on Human Rights.

“The Swedish state fails to meet the constitutional requirement to promote sustainable development leading to a good environment for present and future generations,” the group said in a statement.

In 2017, Sweden adopted a climate law that requires the government to work to reduce emissions of planet-warming gases toward a net-zero target set for 2045.

Cutting greenhouse gas emissions is key to meeting the 2015 Paris Agreement target of keeping global warming below 2C by the end of the century.

However, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February triggered a scramble for energy that’s set back efforts and this year’s UN-sponsored climate talks in Egypt failed to step up ambitions.

In an interview with Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter, Thunberg said she believes climate laws should be tightened.

“We don’t have laws that provide long-term protection from the consequences of climate and environmental crises, but we need to use the methods at our disposal and do everything we can,” she said.

The lawsuit, which has been in the works for two years, comes as the new Swedish government’s policies on climate change face intense scrutiny.

The cabinet, which assumed power following elections in September, has announced plans to scrap the environment ministry altogether. Its 2023 budget has been criticized for including measures that are set to increase emissions from the transport sector.

“The Swedish state has never treated the climate crisis as the crisis it is, and the new government has clearly signaled that it won’t do that either,” 20-year-old Anton Foley, who is formally the main plaintiff in the case, said in a statement.

The lawsuit, filed in Stockholm on Friday, urges the court to require that the government undertake its “fair share” of global measures to keep greenhouse gas emissions consistent with the Paris Agreements goals.

  11. Trump’s Arc Must Play Out
It remains an observable fact that the average American voter—the MAGA voter—is not going to abandon Trump, not even for another attractive candidate.
    By Erik Root

    November 24, 2022
In August, Carl Benjamin, also known as Sargon of Akkad, posted a persuasive intellectual case for Donald Trump’s candidacy in which he said that “Trump is the protagonist of an important moral story whose narrative arc has yet to resolve. And resolve it must.”

This is not some historicist narrative that Trump must be our protagonist because history is forcing the people into some deterministic future. Rather, the people’s reflection and choice must register the definitive judgment whether our republic is going to be determined by the consent of the governed or whether we revert to politics of the dark ages—accident and force. There is only one person who stands in opposition to a ruling class that sneers at our country and the “peasants” who inhabit it. Only one person exhibits the greatness to oppose our self-anointed elites. In other words, there are none on the Republican stage who possess Trump’s je ne sais quoi.

In 2016, the people chose Trump to be the protagonist against a class of elites—Democrats and Republicans—who fleeced the country for their own benefit. In 2020, Trump set an electoral record by increasing his share of the vote. Yet, the job was left unfinished; his arc was interrupted. Whether you believe the election was legally fortified or outright stolen, it denied to a reasonable electorate the opportunity to recover a small slice of liberty for themselves while protecting their families from the purposeful attack on and disintegration of their honorable way of life.

The many objections to Trump’s first term are valid—all princes disappoint. It’s a reasonable concern that Trump may repeat his mistakes by falling for similar traps that the ruling class sets for him. There is evidence, however, that Trump has learned from these mistakes (he has said so privately and, in limited ways, publicly). Going forward, we can hope he will be wiser when traps are set for him, and in any case, they would be set for someone else just as easily. You might say that at least he now knows he needs to set traps for their traps.

The electoral objections to Trump are considerable: while he has the ability to turn out the MAGA base, he also turns out blue anons. But worrying about the Left’s motivated voters is shortsighted. The ability of the ruling class machine to turn out their voters is a given no matter who the nominee is for the simple fact they do not focus on turnout as much as ballots. Fetterman anyone? Legal or not, it is genius, and the practice all but guarantees Democrat victory. The ruling class machine has figured out a way not only to engage in sectional campaigns but also to rig the Electoral College.

Trump, for his part, spent most of his time during midterm rallies speaking of the injustice of the 2020 election without offering an alternative. He rectified this in his announcement at Mar-a-Lago on November 15. People need more than a revenge candidacy. While the control of the vote must be wrested from the cabal, Trump offers a path forward. He contends we need not only paper ballots but same-day vote counts without machines and their proprietary operating systems. It is tricky how he will bring this about since voting is a matter of federalism. Perhaps in-person ballot dropping would work? Regardless, Trump recognizes the problem and therefore has to campaign for 2024 in the new mail/harvest reality, or he will lose. Further, as we saw with Arizona (thanks, John McCain!), same-day voters can easily be disenfranchised by “malfunctioning” machines. All of this is to say, Trump and MAGA cannot run the 2016 playbook—and Trump knows it.

We must do more than complain about past malfeasance. MAGA should make an affirmative case for why things should change. In 1880, Ulysses S. Grant faced similar problems. He gave at least two speeches on the issue of the vote that applies to our present situation:

That is all we ask . . . that our [fellow- citizens] of every other class who may choose to be Republicans, shall have the privilege to go to the polls, even though they are in the minority, and put in their ballot without being burned out of their homes, and without being threatened or intimidated. All we ask is that just the same privileges shall be granted to us that we grant to the Democrats. Then, when they can beat us under those circumstances, we shall believe that they have been so purified as to be fit to govern the country—until they’re turned out. The beauty of the system of free ballot is that if an Administration is not a good one the next will be of a different sort.

The ruling class hates the consent of the governed because it, and it alone, is the only peaceful political weapon to rein in despotic rule. In such a voting system that treats the voters equally, a case must be made why a party, or person, deserves the vote. Votes that are fortified can sidestep public arguments. This is why Democrats know they do not have to debate. The present electoral ballot system has encouraged their radical policies because they know they do not have to be held accountable. In this sense, the game is rigged. Every reasonable voter should be able to grasp the simple truth of free and fair elections as Trump and Grant made them. In this vein, Grant had this to say:

Grant and Trump are saying similar things. Like Grant, Trump realizes that the majority party of the ruling class, as Angelo Codevilla once put it, seeks to deny elections to the very people they despise. MAGA voters have endured threats to their jobs, their land, and their lives for their political beliefs. Trump offers a solution to the problem while not compromising on the very mechanism that guarantees we remain a republic. A republic cannot survive without some trust in elections.

According to a recent Rasmussen poll, Republicans are concerned most about cheating, while Democrats are concerned about making it easier to vote. As we saw this year, Republicans are being targeted to make voting arduous. Trump should make the case for both—they are not mutually exclusive positions. Repairing the ballot is a boon for the republic as a whole, not just the Republican Party.

The aim of MAGA going forward should be not to forget or move beyond past electoral injustices but rather to do something to fix the problem. Having a plan to correct the election shenanigans of the past is what the electorate needs to see. If a clear, targeted plan from the Trump team is conducted quietly (because McLeadership sure won’t do it), it will favorably fortify a path to securing the consent of all citizens. It replaces hopelessness about our present state of affairs with the belief we can win against the corporate globalists who wish to silence us.

None of this will be easy. Trump said in his announcement that we are all going to walk into the fire . . . together. The situation is dire because failure means no Republican that the ruling class does not choose will ever hold office again.

  12. Guerre en Ukraine: l’interview du vice-président de la Douma sur BFMTV en intégralité

    ( 24 min 32 )

    • WaPo -Why are Germans losing enthusiasm for helping Ukraine?

It’s not just about energy costs, our research finds. Germans have a deep cultural aversion toward military intervention.

Will the spiking costs of energy, which are particularly high in Germany, erode European support for assisting Ukraine’s war effort against Russia? Russia – in its attempt to use energy as a weapon – has reduced gas supplies to Europe. As a result, prices have soared to ten times their previous levels and supplies are simply running out. Not surprisingly, many look to Germany – the EU’s largest economy – as the test case for continued European commitment to Ukraine. Will the astronomical gas bills and the cold winter lead Germans to press their government to reduce or withdraw its assistance to Ukraine?

To investigate, we ran a public opinion survey — and found that energy prices are not the key issue. We learned, much as other surveys are finding, that while Germans support Ukraine’s battle against the Russian invasion, they believe that Germany has already done enough. Two factors — their historical memory of German aggression in World War II and concern about the costs of hosting refugees — matter more than energy prices in German public opinion about helping Ukraine.

We’re sympathetic but we’ve done enough

We surveyed an opt-in sample of 1,000 Germans online between September 14 and October 6, 2022. We used statistical tools to obtain results that reflect the German population along age, gender, and state. We asked a series of questions about the war in Ukraine and what respondents thought of Germany’s efforts to assist.

Then we asked how much they supported (none, a little, some, very, or extremely) four specific policies:

      Increasing sanctions on Russia and Putin, even if these sanctions might lead to a further increase in food and gas prices;

      Sending more missiles and other military equipment to Ukraine, even if this increased Germany’s military budget;

      Admitting more refugees from Ukraine, even if it placed additional burdens on the economy;

Admitting Ukraine into NATO even if this means committing to defending Ukraine militarily in the future.

Most Germans (91 percent) expressed at least some sympathy for the Ukrainians.

However, a majority (54 percent) think that their country is doing enough (37 percent) or too much (17 percent) to help Ukraine’s military efforts and its refugees.

Lukewarm support for further military intervention and admitting more refugees

In general, roughly 30 percent of Germans oppose each of the four policies, while roughly 70 percent expressed some degree of support. But if we break down support by intensity (strong or weak), where strong is measured as “very” or “extremely” and weak is measured as “some” or “a little,” we find some telling variation.

While less than half (40 percent) strongly support more sanctions, even fewer support either delivering more weapons to Ukraine or admitting more refugees (just 31 percent strongly support each policy). Strong support for admitting Ukraine to NATO is lower still at only 26 percent.

In other words, German support for increasing either military assistance or humanitarian aid is lukewarm.

Former East Germans are even less willing to support Ukraine than those in the West

This national snapshot, however, hides important differences between erstwhile East and West Germany. East Germans are more opposed to all four policies than West Germans by a wide margin. For example, while only 27 percent of West German respondents are opposed to increasing military assistance to Ukraine, 52 percent of East Germans express this view. This is consistent with a more benign attitude toward Russia and greater skepticism toward NATO among that group.

If it’s not energy costs, what shapes German attitudes toward Ukraine?

But if Germans are more willing to sacrifice their family budgets than to send weapons or take in refugees, energy costs clearly aren’t as crucial as observers have suggested. We believe two other factors are key.

The first is the commitment to military non-intervention that the nation has cultivated since the end of World War II. That war’s legacy leads many Germans to adopt an attitude of military restraint and aversion to military engagement. By now, Germany’s self-understanding as a “civilian power” has become a core part of its identity, which is hard to change. That same history – including the memory of German cities being bombed – might also influence Germans’ reluctance to be directly involved in the conflict.

In this respect, the German government’s decision to send weapons to Ukraine to fight Russian aggression has been a revolutionary change in its foreign policy, which has had a fundamental commitment not to intervene militarily outside its borders. German jets and troops participated in the NATO-led operation in Kosovo in 1999, helping to end Serbian forces’ genocide against the Albanians. And after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Germany sent troops to the U.S.-led military operation in Afghanistan. But these deployments were unpopular from the outset and the government faced mass protests as a result.

When German Chancellor Olaf Schulz announced that Germany would supply Ukraine with weapons, the public supported him overwhelmingly. But as the war has dragged on, Germans have become more hesitant about being involved militarily. That’s also what happened during the Afghanistan war: German support for direct involvement declined sharply over time, leaving even less appetite for military intervention anywhere.

The second key factor is refugee fatigue. As the social and fiscal reality of hosting refugees has become clearer, Germans are losing enthusiasm for admitting more Ukrainians. This could have serious consequences in the coming months, as Russia’s ongoing bombing campaign will likely send more Ukrainians fleeing to European countries – which might serve to further weaken support for Ukraine.

While declining gas prices since October, due in part to warmer temperatures, have given Europe a reprieve, this may not be sufficient to sustain current levels of support for Ukraine. In Germany, the government has announced a plan to pay the December gas bills for households and small- to medium-sized businesses. But even that might not be enough to boost German public support for delivering weapons and admitting more Ukrainian refugees.

  13. DAILY MAIL REVEALED: Biden ordered Trudeau to END freedom convoy over fears US car plants would close within hours – before the Canadian PM invoked emergency powers to quash it

President Biden demanded Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stop the ‘freedom convoy’ that protested at the border against vaccine mandates

Trudeau is set to testify Friday regarding his decision to clear out the convoy as part of a Canadian government investigation

The trucker protest grew until it closed vital trade routes along the Canada-U.S. border and shut down key parts of the capital for more than three weeks

Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland previously testified that Washington was ‘very, very, very worried’ about the blockades

The minister emailed staff on February 10 saying Washington feared ‘all of their northeastern car plants will shut down’ if the convoy was not stopped in 12 hours

Trudeau, according to texts between Clow and Freeland, talked to Biden about ‘money, people and political/media support’ from America

Three days after speaking with Biden, on February 14, Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act to clear out the protesters

    —————————

President Joe Biden demanded Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stop the ‘freedom convoy’ that protested at the US-Canada border against vaccine mandates, right before Trudeau invoked emergency powers to end it.

Trudeau is set to testify in Ottawa on Friday regarding his decision to clear out the convoy as part of the Canadian government’s investigation into the PM using those powers.

The trucker protest grew until it closed vital trade routes along the Canada-U.S. border and shut down key parts of the capital for more than three weeks. But all border blockades were ended on February 14.

It has been revealed that Biden pressed on his Canadian counterpart to stop the convoy, with Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland saying that Washington was ‘very, very, very worried.’

The minister emailed staff on February 10 saying that the US government feared ‘all of their northeastern car plants will shut down’ if the convoy was not stopped within 12 hours.

Freeland had been speaking that same day to Biden’s top economic advisor, Brian Deese, who was himself worried about the blockades and said they could cost around $2.9billion in trade.

Freeland has told the inquiry that she worried her country was ‘in the process of doing long-term and possibly irreparable harm to our trading relationship with the United States.’

The next day, Deese and Trudeau chief of staff Brian Clow set up a call between the Biden and the prime minister, with Trudeau being given a plan to end the convoy, according to POLITICO.

Trudeau, according to texts between Clow and Freeland, talked to Biden about ‘money, people and political/media support’ with the likes of Fox News’ Tucker Carlson influencing the blockades with nightly coverage.

Biden allegedly spoke about the rumors of a separate convoy that was going to blockade Washington and the Super Bowl in Inglewood, California, just outside Los Angeles.

According to Freeland, Biden had described the blockades as a ‘shared problem.’

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg spoke to his Canadian counterpart, Transport Minister Omar Alghabra to try and come up with ‘a plan to resolve’ the blockades.

At one point, Freeland was critical of both Democrats and Republicans in the US, saying they would ‘love any excuse to impose more protectionist measures on us.’

Freeland also met with some of the top bankers in Canada on February 13, and was told by the CEO of one of the country’s largest steel companies that the blockade was ‘really impacting us badly.’

Alan Kestenbaum of Stelco said: ‘I fear that even worse, the long term consequences of shutting down auto plants because of lack of Canadian parts, will only convince the auto companies to ‘on shore’ even more and relocate supplies (and our customers) to the USA.’

Freeland responded by saying that Canada was ‘determined to bring this to an end quickly.’

The next day, and three days after Biden pressed him, Trudeau invoked Canada’s Emergencies Act – which had rarely ever been used – to end the protests.

The law was used to freeze bank accounts, ban travel to the protests and compelled tow trucks to remove vehicles from the blockade.

The Emergencies Act requires an investigation to figure out if Trudeau and his Liberal Party government were right to use the act.

It’s unclear that Trudeau’s use of the emergency powers had any effect on the convoy, with documents suggesting law enforcement didn’t need their invocation to open the border.

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association said the government had not met the standard for invoking the Emergencies Act, which is intended to deal with threats to ‘sovereignty, security and territorial integrity,’ the group said.

The ‘Freedom Convoy’ protests, which started by Canadian truckers opposing a COVID-19 vaccinate-or-quarantine mandate for cross-border drivers, have drawn thousands of people opposed to Trudeau’s policies.

Protesters camped in front of the Canadian Parliament, some of whom want the prime minister to meet with them, said the latest steps were excessive.

The government also used the Emergencies Act to go after those who financially support illegal protests, Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland said at the news conference.

Freeland said financial institutions are being given the power to suspend or freeze personal or corporate accounts that are suspected of funding illegal protests.

‘We are making these changes because we know that these (crowdfunding) platforms are being used to support illegal blockades and illegal activity which is damaging the Canadian economy,’ Freeland said.

Canadian authorities have said about half of the funding for the protests has come from U.S. supporters. Toronto-Dominion Bank last week froze two personal bank accounts that received C$1.4 million ($1.1 million) for the protests.

Trudeau told protesters at the time that they need to ‘go home now’ – but he’s held back deploying the military under the Act, which grants powers that have been used only once before in peacetime, and will now be used to tackle protests over COVID-19 vaccine mandates and restrictions.

Trudeau said that invoking the Act would strengthen the police’s ability to impose fines and even imprisonment for protesters who blockade borders.

It also granted them the power to tow vehicles, and banks will be given the power to freeze funds associated with protesters if they are used in relation to Freedom Convoy demonstrations.

‘We will not and cannot allow these illegal and dangerous activities to continue. There are other ways to express yourselves without engaging in illegal and dangerous activities,’ he said.

‘We are not using the Emergencies Act to call in the military. We are not limiting freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and people’s right to protest freely.’

The provincial premiers of Alberta, Manitoba, Quebec, and Saskatchewan spoke out opposing Trudeau’s extraordinary plan.

Protesters kicked off the Ambassador Bridge blockade were upset by the move, they told DailyMail.com

‘It is a little upsetting because we did work really hard to secure Huron Church,’ one protester, Tristan Emond, 22, said, his voice hoarse.

‘It’s pretty sad how the government can shut down the economy for two years and small businesses completely lose their livelihoods, but the second we start affecting the government and the big businesses and big corporations is when they put their foot down and when they start having issues.

‘It’s freezing out here, but we got to deal with it if we want any change.

‘This is not over. This will not be over till we get our rights and our freedom back here,’ the Windsor local added.

In Ontario, which saw the fiercest protests, both in Ottawa and at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Premier Doug Ford said that he was in favor of using the Emergencies Act.

‘I support the federal government and any proposal they have to bring law and order back to our province, to make sure we stabilize our business and trade around the world,’ he said before meeting with Trudeau on Monday.

The 1988 Emergencies Act allows the federal government to override the provinces and authorize special temporary measures to ensure security during national emergencies anywhere in the country.

The legislation, previously known as the War Measures Act, has been used only three times in Canadian history: during the two world wars and in 1970 by Trudeau’s father, the late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, after militant Quebec separatists kidnapped a British diplomat and a provincial Cabinet minister.

The Ambassador Bridge, North America’s busiest trade link, reopened for traffic on the 13th, ending a six-day blockade, Canada Border Services Agency said, after Canadian police cleared the protesters fighting to end COVID-19 restrictions.

The crossing normally carries 25 percent of all trade between the two countries, and the blockade on the Canadian side had disrupted business in both countries, with automakers forced to shut down several assembly plants.

A steady stream of trucks as far as the eye could see were making their way across the Ambassador Bridge at dawn after it reopened, their lights shining bright on the dark morning hours after the reopening.

Schwab said he respected China’s “tremendous” achievements at modernizing its economy over the last 40 years.
“I think it’s a role model for many countries,” Schwab said, before qualifying that he thinks each country should make its own decisions about what system it wants to adapt.

“I think we should be very careful in imposing systems. But the Chinese model is certainly a very attractive model for quite a number of countries,” Schwab said.

A role model? A country of zero freedom, low social mobility, social credit scores, and constant government surveillance? Who the heck, even among the revolutionary wokester crowd, is openly calling for a Chinese model for their own countries?

A Stanford Professor who challenged the orthodoxy of lockdowns has warned that “academic freedom is dead,” and that all those who have stood up to the regime narrative now face “a deeply hostile work environment.”

. Jay Bhattacharya, an author of the Great Barrington Declaration in which thousands of scientists called for a policy of herd immunity over lockdowns, warned that “When you take a position that is at odds with the scientific clerisy, your life becomes a living hell.”

Speaking at the Academic Freedom Conference at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business recently, Bhattacharya, who previously described lockdowns as the most catastrophically harmful policy in “all of history,” and “the single worst public health mistake in the last 100 years,” noted “we have a high clerisy that declares from on high what is true and what is not true.”

The really stunning thing about Elon Musk’s campaign to clean up the back-stage rats’ nest at Twitter is that he’s the lone authority figure in the land who dared to act against the degenerate political Left’s impudent and remorseless cancellation of everything that held together America’s consensual reality.

Think of it: all the college presidents and deans, all the corporate CEOs, all the judges, all the governors, mayors, and agency heads, all the news editors and network producers who did nothing and said nothing about the wholesale demolition of truths, values, and principles carried out by Woke-Jacobin maniacs under their watch. And what’s more appalling: they all pretended not to notice each other’s craven inaction and silence.

And now, Mr. Musk strikes a blow almost every day, and with amazing insouciance, as if his effort to re-ignite free speech is the most self-evidently natural thing anyone in-charge might seek to do. And let’s face it: whatever Twitter started out as, however seemingly trivial this Internet app for social chit-chat was conceived to be, it evolved into an

Over 70 percent of children are now afraid of a climate crisis and suffer from so-called “eco-anxiety,” a new survey reveals.

A UK-based start-up surveyed 1,000 children born between 2010 and 2015 on their views on the environment.

According to the research, a staggering 71 percent of respondents feared environmental changes, including climate change.

Twenty-seven percent of the children surveyed were anxiety-ridden over the impact changing global temperatures have on animals, while 19 percent said plastic pollution is their greatest concern

Joe and Jill Biden are spending the Thanksgiving weekend at a $30 million estate in Nantucket, Massachusetts.

The Biden clan took Air Force One to Nantucket to enjoy a long Thanksgiving weekend while many Americans skipped a traditional turkey dinner due to Bidenflation.

Joe Biden on Friday had lunch at a restaurant called “Brotherhood of Thieves” located on Broad Street in Nantucket.

    How fitting.

  21. The Corrupt Obama/Biden DOJ’s Newest Attempt in Creating a Corrupt Special Counsel Is Even More Criminal Than the Mueller Exam

The Biden/Obama corrupt DOJ and FBI have created a Special Counsel led by the most corrupt investigator in US history. Mueller was a coup. This guy Jack Smith is a demon.

We reported on how Robert Mueller and his entire team were conflicted and never should have been put in charge of any investigation involving any conservative, let alone the President of the United States.

President Trump complained about the Special Counsel because it was corrupt. In many professions, like accountancy and auditing, there are rules that prevent an auditor from performing audits of those areas where there are either real or perceived conflicts of interest.

In the Mueller exam, every key member of the team had material real conflicts of interest as we noted in the article below

  22. They’re Trying To Run Out The Clock”: Kari Lake Files 1st Lawsuit After Election
    Tyler Durden’s Photo
    BY TYLER DURDEN
    FRIDAY, NOV 25, 2022 – 12:10 AM
Authored by Zachary Stieber via The Epoch Times,

Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake on Nov. 23 filed a lawsuit against Maricopa County.

Lake sued Stephen Richer, the county’s recorder, and other officials in Arizona Superior Court. She’s asking the court to compel the officials to promptly produce records on the administration of the midterm elections, which featured widespread issues in the state’s largest county.

Given instances of misprinted ballots, the commingling of counted and uncounted ballots, and long lines discouraging people from voting, as demonstrated in the attached declarations, these records are necessary for Plaintiff to determine the full extent of the problems identified and their impacts on electors,” the 19-page suit states.

Maricopa County officials have acknowledged that tabulators across many polling sites stopped working properly on election day. Among the advised solutions was voters placing their ballots into a box to be counted later. Declarations attached to the new suit from poll observers say that workers mixed counted and uncounted ballots in the same container at the end of the night.

Another solution to the tabulator problem was a voter checking out of a site and utilizing a mail-in ballot. To try to figure out the extent of the problems, the Lake campaign on Nov. 15 requested information such as all records related to voters who checked into a site and who also submitted a ballot by mail. The campaign sent another request on Nov. 16. None of the records have been produced yet, which violates Arizona law that public record requests must be fulfilled “promptly,” the suit states.

“We need information from Maricopa County,” Lake said on Steve Bannon’s “War Room.”

“They ran the shoddiest election ever, in history, and we want some information. We’re on a timeline, a very strict timeline when it comes to fighting this botched election. And they’re dragging their feet. They don’t want to give us the information, so we’re asking the courts to force them to give us the information.”

At present, Lake’s opponent Katie Hobbs, a Democrat who serves as Arizona’s secretary of state, is ahead in the race. Maricopa County is scheduled to canvass the results on Nov. 28, with the state following on Dec. 5. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey this week said he’s working to help Hobbs transition to become governor.

The suit asks the court to compel the county to produce the records prior to the canvassing. “This deadline (or its substantial equivalent) is, under the circumstances presented, necessary to ensure that vital public records are furnished promptly and that apparent deficiencies can be remedied before canvassing of the 2022 general election,” it says.

Maricopa County did not return requests for comment on a different lawsuit filed this week by Abe Hamadeh, the Republican candidate for state attorney general, and the Republican National Committee. Its offices were closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving.

    Attorney General
The office of Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, a Republican, recently requested information from Thomas Liddy, the chief of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office’s Civil Division, after receiving hundreds of complaints about issues related to the midterms.

“These complaints go beyond pure speculation, but include first-hand witness accounts that raise concerns regarding Maricopa’s lawful compliance with Arizona election law,” Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright wrote.

“Furthermore, statements made by both Chairman Gates and Recorder Richer, along with information Maricopa County released through official modes of communication appear to confirm potential statutory violations of title 16.”

The information indicated that the county did not uniformly administer the election, as is required by state and federal law, and that poll workers weren’t trained to check out voters who left sites where the tabulators weren’t working right, she added.

Wright requested the information on or before the county submits its canvass to the secretary of state because the issues “relate to Maricopa County’s ability to lawfully certify election results.”

Bill Gates, the Republican chairman of the county’s Board of Supervisors, said in a statement that the county would not delay the canvass.

“Prior to the canvass, the County will respond to a letter from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office requesting information about the administration of the November General Election,” he said at the time.

“Board members received this letter on Saturday night and had a team working on a response all day Sunday, even as staff continued counting votes. We look forward to answering the AG’s questions with transparency as we have done throughout this election.”

Brnovich’s office has not indicated that the county has provided the information, nor has the county said it handed over the information.

Lake said on “War Room” that the county is “trying to run out the clock,” referring to the looming canvass.

    Not the ‘Main Case’
At least one other lawsuit is in the works, according to Lake.

“This is not our main case. When our main case drops, they will hear it,” she said.

Lake reiterated that whistleblowers are coming forward and that officials “better think long and hard” before certifying the election in light of the widespread issues that unfolded in Maricopa County.

The forthcoming suit may cite findings from nearly a dozen Republican attorneys who observed the election at Maricopa County sites and attested to the tabulator failures being more widespread than county officials presented.

The issues led to “substantial voter suppression,” attorney Mark Sonnenklar wrote in a memorandum summarizing the findings. Since Republicans voted in larger numbers on the day than Democrats, “such voter suppression would necessarily impact the vote tallies for Republican candidates much more than the vote tallies for Democrat candidates,” he added.

  23. Don Lemon Tries to Rewrite the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” Myth in Absurd Knock on Elon Musk (VIDEO)

Earlier this week Elon Musk admitted on Twitter that “Hands up, Don’t shoot” was a myth pushed by the liberal media.

Elon rightly pointed out, “According to Obama’s DoJ the Ferguson shooting was unequivocally self-defense. so the Ferguson protests were – if you believe Obama’s DoJ – based on a false premise.”

This statement of fact caused CNN propagandist Don Lemon to suffer a meltdown on live TV.

Don Lemon somehow justified the lie by pointing out that a DOJ report on the Ferguson Police Department found that three offensive emails were sent out out by members of the police department to their friends in their extensive investigation. At the time there were 74 employees at the Ferguson Police Department. Three sent out offensive emails. That is 4% of the police force. And Eric Holder used this to claim racism is endemic in the department.

Don Lemon repeated this lie again this week to defend the “hands up, don’t shoot” lie.

  24. JACK SMITH CAME after me. If he goes after Donald Trump with the same unrelenting ferocity, Trump will be in trouble.

On Friday, Smith was appointed special counsel to handle two ongoing criminal investigations of Trump: the Mar-a-Lago documents case and the inquiry into Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, including his role in the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Attorney General Merrick Garland chose Smith to oversee both cases to avoid accusations of political bias, following Trump’s announcement last week that he plans to run for president in 2024. Trump’s early announcement was clearly an effort to insulate himself from criminal prosecution, and Garland’s countermove seems designed to frustrate the ex-president’s attempt to use the political system for his personal legal benefit.
