1. Derek H. Burney: The frightening reality about energy security

Shortly after sabotage operations blew ruptures in the Nord Stream pipelines from Russia to Germany, OPEC announced plans to reduce oil production by two million barrels per day. Both actions increased pressure around energy shortages, notably in Europe, where prices are already substantially higher than last year and are likely to get worse as winter nears. However, the threat is global and immediate.

Fossil fuels will be a vital source of energy for decades to come, yet the Canadian and U.S. governments remain mesmerized by climate-change evangelism and continue to stifle production of oil and gas for domestic markets, never mind for increasingly desperate allies.

2. RCMP Falsely Claimed Freedom Convoy Protesters Were Armed, Documents Show

The RCMP falsely claimed on Feb. 14—the same day cabinet invoked the Emergencies Act—that Freedom Convoy protesters gathered outside Ottawa’s Parliament buildings were armed, internal documents show. Ottawa Police Service (OPS) interim chief Steve Bell later confirmed no weapons were found among protesters.

“Intelligence information also suggests that convoy protesters are beginning to weaponize themselves,” read an RCMP briefing note sent to cabinet deputy ministers titled “Truckers Convoy And Protective Services,” obtained by Blacklock’s Reporter.

“Officers are constantly monitoring the shift in behaviour and will respond accordingly,” it continued.

The briefing note’s timestamp was dated 12:59 p.m. on Feb. 14. Four hours later, the Liberal government invoked the Emergencies Act, granting police authority to use extraordinary force in clearing protesters from Ottawa’s downtown core.

The RCMP briefing note also said that around 250 uniformed officers were outside Parliament and approximately 350 officers were being “deployed daily in support of our protective mandate.”

(We know from the leaked texts from politicized police how much they enjoyed using that force against peaceful Canadian citizens who just wanted their most basic and fundamental rights restored. Rights like the right of exit. A defining aspect of a free society.)

4. Johns Hopkins Psychiatrist: Transgender is ‘Mental Disorder;’ Sex Change ‘Biologically Impossible’

(CNSNews.com) —  Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.

Dr. McHugh, the author of six books and at least 125 peer-reviewed medical articles, made his remarks in a recent commentary in the Wall Street Journal, where he explained that transgender surgery is not the solution for people who suffer a “disorder of ‘assumption’” – the notion that their maleness or femaleness is different than what nature assigned to them biologically.

He also reported on a new study showing that the suicide rate among transgendered people who had reassignment surgery is 20 times higher than the suicide rate among non-transgender people. Dr. McHugh further noted studies from Vanderbilt University and London’s Portman Clinic of children who had expressed transgender feelings but for whom, over time, 70%-80% “spontaneously lost those feelings.”

5. NBC News: German TV Shows Nazi Symbols on Helmets of Ukraine Soldiers

(I guess at some point, the critically important discussion of what makes a Nazi a Nazi has to happen to figure out who is and isn’t one these days. The word is as diluted and scattered as the word “racist”. Ukrainian troops use the Swastika a lot, the Roman Salute a lot, and the symbol of the SS and the Black Sun a LOT. So one cannot argue that the Ukrainian army uses Nazi insignias and symbolism. We also have posted video of Nazi rituals and so on. But we also hear that they use Naziism to piss off the Russians because of the Soviet-Nazi aspect of WW2. Hard to believe that after 80 year though, they couldn’t get a new helmet. Or at least a little green paint. I dunno. I’m staying out of this one. But NBC isn’t.)

Germans were confronted with images of their country’s dark past on Monday night, when German public broadcaster ZDF showed video of Ukrainian soldiers with Nazi symbols on their helmets in its evening newscast. In a report on the fragile cease-fire in eastern Ukraine, Moscow correspondent Bernhard Lichte used pictures of a soldier wearing a combat helmet with the “SS runes” of Hitler’s infamous black-uniformed elite corps. A second soldier was seen with a swastika on his gear. “Volunteer battalions from nearly every political spectrum are reinforcing the government side,” the ZDF correspondent said in his report.
