Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. A very interesting article from a gold analyst posits a balancing of gold reserves between Eurozone countries in preclusion to a monetary reset. This balancing also includes an equilibrium with extra-Eurozone countries as a requirement for a durable new system which will not function if gross imbalances exist. It also reveals, or reminds, of the aggressive American stance towards Europe in terms of economic dominance which we are hearing more rumors of vis-a-vis its motivations to keep Germany and Russia alienated from each other.

What Is Russia Planning To Do Next In Ukraine?

In the face of Western reports that Russia is on its heels and retreating, the facts on the ground tell a different story. For starters, Russian allies with embassies still operating in Kiev are shutting down and ordering their personnel to leave Ukraine. This includes China, Tajikistan, Krygyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkenistan,Serbia, Belarus, India and Egypt. Note that these embassies have remained open during the last seven months of the war with Russia. The decisions to cutback or cease operations is one indicator that these countries expect a major escalation in the war on the part of Russia in the near future.

Another piece of evidence that implies Russia is beefing up for a new offensive comes via Belarus. Russia is moving a large number of trucks, armored personnel carriers and tanks to Belarus. Take a look at these two videos.

      • – Allied EU countries are losing financially big time. Also, USA’s Yellen is urging them to give financial aid in cash money to Zelensky. –

” Despite the diplomat’s assurances, last week, Politico reported that the European Peace Facility, a €1.5 billion fund meant to assist EU countries in replacing weapons sent to Kiev, was unable to satisfy more than half the requests that it received.

” According to the report, this angered Poland, which is one of Ukraine’s main backers in terms of weapons deliveries, with Warsaw presenting a bill for €1.8 billion ($1.75 billion). Poland later backed down, agreeing to 46% compensation, the outlet said. ”

        AND…

“Meanwhile, the US and Ukraine have both been pressing the EU to do more to support Kiev financially – and in a more expedient manner. Last week, in an apparent reference to Brussels, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen urged international donors “to keep stepping up” their aid efforts, stressing that assistance should go in direct cash payments rather than in loans.

      • Did you know that Ukrainian troops have had no time off since this war began? Normally, troops are relieved for a week or two and spend time with their families. Not the Ukrainian troops. Reports are they are demoralized. Russia is rotating its troops to give them relief.

          • Imagine how they must feel as they retreat from areas they had gained control over. Demoralized, sums it up.

Turkey will be providing gas to Western Europe. And the USA, well, shipments have greatly diminished.

Turkey mixes its gas from different sources such as Russia and Qatar. So, Russia bypassed the sanctions, the gas will be more expensive, and Islamist Erdogan controls their gas supply.

    • The movement may be a bluff to get the Ukrainians to move part of their army. This would make it easier for Russia to retake the land they pulled back from. Or it may signal the opening of a new front in the war.

Either way the war looks to be heating up.

    • I follow a YouTuber, a fantastic guy, Alexander Mercouris.

the telegraph – Invasion fears mount as Russia sends 9,000 troops to Belarus border

Troop build-up has led many to speculate Kremlin will attempt a new push at Ukrainian capital as embassies begin to shut

Russia will deploy 9,000 soldiers to Belarus, the Belarusian ministry of defence has said, as Kremlin allies began to close embassies in Kiev because of the risk of a ground assault.

Although Alexander Lukashenko, the Belarusian president, has insisted that Russian and Belarusian forces are deploying in his country on a purely defensive operation, Western analysts have said that may be a ruse to prepare for an attack on the Ukrainian capital.

Others speculated that the movements could be a feint to distract Ukrainian troops from the active front lines in the east and south.

“It’s difficult to know if this is just an ‘army in being’ to tie up Ukrainian defenders that could be used in the south and east or something more serious,” a Kiev-based security source told the Telegraph. “Lots of embassies are leaving.”

China has told its citizens to leave Ukraine because of the security threat and some countries, such as Serbia, have closed their embassies entirely. On Tuesday, the day after the heaviest missile strike on Kyiv since the start of the war, Lithuania’s embassy denied that Western diplomats planned to leave Kyiv.

The Belarusian border is 140 miles from Kyiv and was the startline for the main Russian invasion force on Feb 24. Within a month this force had been pushed back through Belarus.

With the momentum of the war firmly behind Ukraine, Vladimir Putin is under pressure to take risks to shift its trajectory.

Mr Lukashenko is his most loyal ally but has stayed away from sending his ground forces to fight. Analysts have said, though, that he may not be able to refuse an order from Mr Putin to commit his 50,000 regular soldiers and up to 250,000 reservists.

The first Russian soldiers to deploy to Belarus since March arrived on Friday evening. It also emerged on Sunday that Iran will sell missiles to Russia to use in its war in Ukraine, triggering calls from Israeli officials to start arming Kiev.

Russia has already deployed Iranian Shahed-136 drones in Ukraine and the new missiles will boost its depleted arsenal after eight months of war.

The Washington Post quoted the two intelligence officers as saying that Iran will send more drones as well as Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar missiles to Russia.

These are ballistic missiles with a range of around 200 miles and 400 miles, respectively, that are fired from vehicles. They are not a substitute for the high-precision cruise missiles that the British Ministry of Defence said Russia was running out of.

“Russia’s defence industry is probably incapable of producing advanced munitions at the rate they are being expended,” it said.

Russian forces fired 80 cruise missiles at cities in Ukraine on Monday, in retaliation for an attack on the bridge that connects Crimea to the Russian mainland.

Iran is the only country outside the former Soviet Union that Mr Putin has flown to since he ordered an invasion of Ukraine in February. In July, he travelled to Tehran to meet with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Iranian Supreme Leader.

Analysts have said that intensifying relations between Moscow and Tehran are creating a new “axis of evil”.

Intelligence that Iran will accelerate its arms supplies to Russia triggered a reaction from arch-foe Israel. Israeli officials told the media that they may start sending weapons to Ukraine, a move that spreads the war.

“There is no longer any doubt where Israel should stand in this bloody conflict,” said Nachman Shai, the Israeli diaspora minister. “The time has come for Ukraine to receive military aid.” The Israeli government has criticised the Kremlin, straining traditionally close ties.

Separately, Russia’s defence ministry said it was continuing air strikes on military and energy targets in Ukraine, using long-range precision-guided weapons.

“The goals of the attacks have been reached. All the assigned targets have been neutralised,” the ministry said.

Ukrainian officials have accused Russia of targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure to spread fear.

      • Russia has a stockpile of those drone missiles, a lot of them, and others are in production. They fly at low altitudes and strike the target. No country has such missiles, is what I’m reading. IMO, that is what will win the war for Russia.

    • the telegraph – Girl, 12, found dead in suitcase believed to have been raped and tortured
Homeless woman and man charged after body of Lola Daviet found in Paris

French police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 12-year-old girl was found in a suitcase outside her home in Paris.

The victim, Lola Daviet, is believed to have been raped and tortured before being killed.

Two suspects, a homeless Algerian woman, 24, known only as Dabhbia B, and a man, 43, were charged at the French capital on Monday. Two other people, including the suspect’s sister, were reportedly questioned earlier by police but not remanded in custody.

In all, six people were detained for questioning but only two now face charges and the prosecutor has requested they be remanded in custody. The 43-year-old man under arrest is suspected of housing the prime suspect and driving her around.

Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, visited local educational staff. Pap Ndiaye, the French education minister, observed a minute’s silence with Lola’s classmates.

Francois Dagnaud, the mayor of Paris’s 19th arrondissement where Lola lived, went to the local Georges-Brassens secondary school and said: “This is a terrible ordeal for this school, this community and the entire neighbourhood.

“What’s important is that the prime suspect has been apparently been arrested and that there is no psychopath wandering the streets of our district, which is otherwise perfectly calm.”

The macabre crime has shocked residents of the working-class district of Paris near the Buttes-Chaumont Park, a well-known public garden with a lake and waterfall.

The victim was a promising young gymnast who had been selected in May to compete in national championships in her age category.

On Sunday, local residents laid flowers outside her apartment building, along with messages of condolence.

Psychological counsellors were on hand to support traumatised classmates at her secondary school.

An official investigation opened at the weekend for “rape of a minor committed with acts of torture and barbarism” and for “the concealing of a corpse”.

The principal suspect was arrested on Saturday while out with her 21-year-old sister.

On Friday afternoon, Lola’s father reported her disappearance after she failed to return from school, a short distance from her home.

After informing the police, he was reportedly the first to view CCTV images showing that she had left school with an unknown woman, who was later seen by local people pushing a large plastic suitcase with some difficulty.

      Body covered in ‘inscriptions’
The trunk was left inside the courtyard of the apartment block where the girl lived and where her parents were the caretakers, at the 19th arrondissement in north-east Paris.

The body had been tied up and was discovered by a homeless man later that evening. An autopsy carried out on Saturday found wounds to the throat and multiple stab wounds to the body; the public prosecutor’s office reported that the girl had been asphyxiated.

According to Le Monde, the body was also covered in “inscriptions”.

Police said that there was no apparent motive for the murder. The main suspect is reported to have been unemployed, living on the streets and suffering “psychiatric problems”.

  6. The FDA will make its case this week to do something it hasn’t in over a decade — order a drug it expedited to the market to be pulled.

A panel of independent expert advisers on obstetric and reproductive drugs will meet starting Monday to decide whether to recommend that Makena, an injection marketed as lowering the risk of preterm birth, remain available for at least some patients.

The years-long effort to yank the drug’s approval offers a case study of the agency’s accelerated approval program, which green-lit Makena in 2011. The program, which increasingly includes pricey and sometimes controversial drugs for Alzheimer’s disease and cancer, allows drug makers to sell products before trials confirming their clinical benefit are complete. But when treatments turn out to be ineffective, it can take a long time to pull them off the market, to the frustration of FDA officials.

  7. A North Carolina man who reported for jury duty this week found himself in jail for 24 hours after he refused to wear a mask in court, despite there being no local mask mandates in place.

“I never thought I would show up to jury duty and end up behind bars,” Gregory Hahn told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight.

Hahn told WRAL there were signs in the courthouse saying no masks were required and that he and 98 other jury candidates “all walked in.”

Harnett County court judge Charles Gilchrist is the only one within the courthouse that requires a mask, clerk of superior court Renee Whittenton told the local outlet.

“You can go in any district courtroom without a mask, you can come into superior clerk court without a mask and the [district attorney’s] office without a mask, but with Judge Gilchrist he has a mandate that you must wear a mask,” Whittenton said.

  8. Barack Obama has said repeatedly that his association with ’60s radical Bill Ayers, a “radical, leftist, small-‘c’ communist,” as he recently described himself, and one of the founders of the Weather Underground, an anti-war group during the Vietnam period, was entirely in passing. Ayers was just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” said Obama, and “not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis.”

But recently, Stanley Kurtz, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, spent a few days at the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago, going through the papers of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Ayers and Obama were involved in. He says that the Ayers/Obama relation runs more deeply than previously reported. The documents in the CAC archives make clear that Ayers and Obama were partners at the CAC, he writes in The Wall Street Journal.

Barack Obama’s first run for the Illinois state Senate was launched at a famous fundraiser and kickoff for the campaign at a 1995 gathering at the house of Bill Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn, says Kurtz.

When do the cells stop making spike protein? “The answer is no one knows because no one’s done the study,” said board-certified clinical and anatomic pathologist Ryan Cole as he was being interviewed by Steve Kirsch.

But we do know that a study by Dr. Bansal in the Journal of Immunology showed circulating spike in exosomes up to four months after inoculation. Therefore, one would presume that the sequence is still present and making that spike.

But how can we be sure it’s because of the shot?
Well, the COVID injection only makes antibodies to spike, whereas the natural infection produces antibodies to both spike and the nucleocapsid. So when you find spike without the presence of the nucleocapsid in weird places like the brain and the heart, you can safely assume it’s because of the jab.

  12. DAILY MAIL – Boston University CREATES a new Covid strain that has an 80% kill rate — echoing dangerous experiments feared to have started pandemic

Researchers added Omicron’s spike protein to the original Wuhan Covid strain

Omicron’s spike is highly mutated which made it the most infectious variant ever

Eight in 10 mice infected with the lab-created strain died at Boston University lab
    ———————————

US researchers have developed a new lethal Covid strain in a laboratory – echoing the type of experiments many fear started the pandemic.

The mutant variant — which is a hybrid of Omicron and the original Wuhan virus — killed 80 percent of mice infected with it at Boston University.

When a similar group of rodents were exposed to the standard Omicron strain, however, they all survived and only experienced ‘mild’ symptoms.

The scientists also infected human cells with the hybrid variant and found it was five times more infectious than Omicron.

This suggests the man-made virus might be the most contagious form yet.

It will no doubt surprise many Americans that such experiments continue to go on in the US despite concerns similar studies may have led to the global Covid outbreak.

Covid first began spreading from a wet market in Wuhan, China, about eight miles from a similar high-security virology laboratory that manipulated bat coronaviruses.

So-called gain-of-function research involved tinkering with viruses to make them more lethal or infectious – with the hopes of getting ahead of a future outbreak.

Europe faces a critical shortage of energy this winter. It has a big gas field that could replace much of the natural gas supply it lost due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But it won’t use that rich gas field and is shutting it down. Instead, Europe is burning more coal — including dirty lignite coal — and even that won’t be enough to fill unmet needs, due to supply bottlenecks. Coal generates much more pollution than natural gas.

The sprawling Groningen field, beneath the windmill-dotted marshlands of the Netherlands, is Europe’s largest natural gas reserve. It holds enough fuel to replace what Germany once imported from Russia, reported Bloomberg News.

But instead of supporting Europe, as a brutal winter approaches, the field is being shut down, merely because of tremors similar to the tremors that fracking for natural gas produces all the time in
