Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  1. Dear Leader and Zelensky are both actors by training. “Leadership” is only the role others chose them to play. It’s a good bet they were picked by the same director. May West once said (paraphrased) a female actor is always more woman, but a male actor is always less man. Western powers seem quite happy to fight Russia to the last Uke, while Zelensky, reciprocally, seems intent on fighting Russia to the last Westerner. Funny how that works.

    • From the excellent article::

“…Zelensky has miscalculated, badly, because none of the internationalist players involved in propping up Kiev actually care about Ukraine. …”

Nor does green T-shirted coke-head, ogliarch, Schwab’s dancing queen, Zelensky. Pffft.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation donated $1.27 billion to “advance progress toward the global goals” during United Nations General Assembly week last month, with $200 million going toward the development of an invasive global digital ID system, Life Site News reported.

“We see the greatest progress when governments, the private sector, and local communities collaborate in global health programs,” said Bill Gates, co-chair. “The commitment this week to combat preventable diseases and save millions more lives through the Global Fund replenishment is a great step forward in getting back on track to reach the Sustainable Development Goals.”

The $200 million will be used to expand global Digital Public Infrastructure.

    • US Lawsuit Reveals 783,000 People Sought Medical Care For Serious Adverse Events After COVID Vaccination

      The Facts:
CDC data that was released on October 3 of this year shows approximately 783,000 people reported seeking medical attention for what they perceived to be a serious adverse reaction after getting their COVID-19 vaccine.

The data comes from a cluster of approximately 10 million people who utilized the V-safe system from December 14 2020 to July 31, 2022.

The CDC released the data after being sued over not making it public.

Serious adverse reactions include emergency rooms visits, hospitalizations and death.

      Reflect On:

Why has the mainstream failed to have an appropriate discussion regarding vaccine injuries?
Are they really as rare as we are made to believe?

Why is the safety of these vaccines unquestionable in the eyes of so many?

Have they come across this data?

Approximately 783,000 people reported seeking medical attention for what they perceived to be a serious adverse reaction after getting their COVID-19 vaccine. This comes from data released on October 3, 2022 by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) following a lawsuit to obtain this information.

The ‘serious adverse reactions’ include emergency room visits and hospitalizations. Another 2.4 million people reported needing to miss work, school or other normal activities. These particular reactions would be considered less severe.

They maintain that COVID-19 vaccines are completely safe and effective, and the probability of a serious adverse reaction is extremely rare.

This data compliments reports that have poured into vaccine injury surveillance systems around the world like the World Health Organizations VigiAcces System, for example, in record amounts. Millions of people around the world have reported what they believe to be serious adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines. Approximately 50 percent of vaccine injuries reported to VAERS in the last 30 years, for example, are all from COVID vaccines.

The reports were made to the CDC’s V-safe program, a new vaccine safety monitoring system to which users can report issues through smartphones. The CDC released the data to the Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN) after being sued over not producing the data when it was requested by the nonprofit. ICAN posted a dashboard summarizing the data.

The data comes from a cluster of approximately 10 million people who utilized the V-safe system from December 14 2020 to July 31, 2022. During that time, about 231 million Americans received at least one vaccine dose during that time.

CDC researchers had presented summaries of the V-safe data during meetings with the agency’s vaccine advisory panel but did not release the data for outside researchers to analyze. CDC researchers have said that V-safe raised no new safety concerns.

We’ve also seen the retention of data from federal health regulatory agencies in other countries as well. For example, researchers in Israel found that many serious side effects from COVID-19 vaccines were in fact long-term, including ones not listed by Pfizer, and established a causal relationship with the vaccine. Yet, instead of publishing the findings to the public, the Ministry of Health withheld the findings for nearly two months.

When it finally released in an official document, it misrepresented and manipulated the findings, minimized the extent of reports, and stated that no new adverse events (“signals”) were found. It further stated that the events that were detected were not caused by the vaccine, even though the researchers themselves said the exact opposite.

“In fact, since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, many Israeli experts have expressed serious concerns regarding the ability of the IMOH to monitor the safety of the vaccine and provide reliable data to the world. Nevertheless, the IMOH told the Israeli public, the FDA, and the entire world that they have a surveillance system, and that they are closely monitoring the data.”

Yaffa Shir-Raz, PhD. Risk communication researcher and a teaching fellow at the University of Haifa and Reichman University.
ICAN is going to keep pressing to obtain more of the V-safe data. U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman ordered the parties to meet and confer regarding what other data the group will seek following the CDC production of the data.

Pitman said the parties will then file a joint status report “that proposes any additional deadlines that the parties determine are necessary for the resolution of this matter.”

Multiple top doctors and scientists have been emphasizing that this signal is strong throughout the pandemic, and something that needs to be looked at.

For example, a new research paper authored by a prominent UK cardiologist and evidence-based medicine expert has concluded that use of mRNA COVID vaccines should be halted until independent investigators are given access to the raw data from the clinical trials. He’s one of many who have shared this opinion, and has a result have been subjected to censorship, which seems to be spearheaded by multiple government agencies.

In fact, California Governor Gavin Newsom recently signed Assembly Bill 2098 into law, which allows the state’s medical board to punish doctors for disseminating “misinformation” or “disinformation” regarding covid-19.

The new law states that doctors should not contradict “scientific consensus” on covid-19, or they could be charged with “unprofessional conduct,” and possibly have their medical license suspended or revoked.

Several scientists are now involved in a lawsuit filed by the states of Louisiana and Missouri. The lawsuit alleged that the Biden administration worked with tech companies to censor American citizens discussing issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The censorship, ridicule and stigmatization has been quite clear over the past couple of years.

It’s a deep rabbit hole to dive in to, with lots of data and information to analyze, but it’s precisely why multiple countries, like Sweden, Denmark, and Norway do not recommend and/or have halted their COVID-19 vaccination programs for certain age groups.

A proper risk/benefit analysis has not been done when it comes to comparing the risk COVID-19 vaccines to the risk of COVID-19 itself.

All this being said, many adverse reactions may not be connected to the vaccine, and some may be related to COVID itself. It’s hard to know, and what makes it hard is the fact that health agencies around the world have not properly investigated these signals. Instead, throughout the pandemic vaccine injuries have been brushed off, made out to be extremely rare and the stuff of “conspiracy theories.”

    • WaPo – OCTOBER 10 2022 -Why Anthony Fauci is the greatest public servant I have known

American political disagreements have often come down to us in the form of vivid dyads. Alexander Hamilton vs. Thomas Jefferson. Stephen A. Douglas vs. Abraham Lincoln. Franklin D. Roosevelt vs. Arthur H. Vandenberg.

One such conflict over the past few years has been Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) vs. Anthony S. Fauci, the longtime head of the department of infectious diseases at the National Institutes of Health.

I am not referring here to any moral or intellectual equivalence between the figures. Their inequality, in fact, is a central part of the story. Paul’s contempt for expertise, his spread of conspiracy theories, his use of oversight as ambush — all this indicates a performative approach to governing. Reality does not ultimately count; the play is the thing. And Paul has found an audience among ideologues who demonstrate their fidelity by taking some extra poison in their pudding.

The single most shocking fact to come out of the recent pandemic has been the unfair self-apportionment of pain and death. People in majority-Republican counties experienced 73 more deaths from covid-19 per 100,000 people than those in majority-Democratic counties. There are a variety of explanations. One is certainly the use of high office to discourage the most basic means of self-preservation during a deadly disease outbreak. Imagine if it had been Democratic public authorities encouraging Republican self-victimization. But it was Republican officials who did it — and found it an effective method of self-publicization.

On the other side has stood Fauci. In more than 50 years at the NIH, Fauci has been accustomed to scientific debates in which disagreements emerge as the result of seeking different methods in the pursuit of the same goals. But Paul and his co-ideologues have left the assumption of shared objectives in tatters. And this has constituted an attack on the very idea of public service — the notion that true experts can make a career in seeking the common good.

For Fauci, it has been a professional and moral commitment that politics should stop at the human biome’s edge. This does not imply that scientific experts are perfect. To the contrary, the purpose of the scientific method is to organize failure into deeper insight. But it does mean that scientific truth is not relative — or determined in the political realm.

In attempting to demonize Fauci, his critics gained a fundraising target. And that, by their own lights, is the definition of political success. But seldom has the choice of an attack been more of a self-indictment. Fauci is not only a symbol of public health orthodoxy; he has done as much as any scientist to turn medical innovation into humanitarian progress.

For generations, Fauci has applied a low-key excellence to fighting domestic AIDS, tropical infectious diseases, global AIDS and Ebola. His role in the creation of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief has helped save tens of millions of lives and built medical infrastructure across the developing world. His focus and public investment have brought us to the verge of vaccines against malaria, one of the world’s deadliest parasites.

Fauci is a symbol of sorts. He demonstrates what can happen when a nation at the height of its power employs the finest scientific minds of their generation to the pursuit of public health goals few believed were possible. The result has been a golden age of public health, motivated by an American belief in human dignity.

This is not the kind of reputation to be dented by political attacks or internet rumors. It is a legacy praised each day by the chorus of millions of breaths that would otherwise be silent. A vast chorus of the nearly lost.

As someone who worked for a few years with Fauci during George W. Bush’s administration, I saw how he pushed for new ideas and new funding: by expressing his passion for the scientific project itself. He is the ultimate explainer. In briefings, he did not conspire to make himself seem smart. He made those he briefed feel they had spent a few minutes looking out on a vast landscape of innovation.

Fauci assumes that everyone is rational and thus persuadable. That is not quite true. But when he described to me the shifting shell of sugars that surround and protect the AIDS virus, or how mRNA vaccines work, it left a few impressions. First, how something that can kill you can be so fascinating. But also how much Fauci’s friendship felt like mentorship. The greatness of his calling rubbed off a bit. And one was left with the infection of his mission.

Fauci’s forthcoming retirement as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases will cost Americans, and people around the world, far more than they realize. But he will ever remain the greatest public servant I have known.

WaPo – JAN 2022 – The GOP celebration of covid ignorance is an invitation to death

When the future judges our political present, it will stand in appalled, slack-jawed amazement at the willingness of GOP leaders to endanger the lives of their constituents — not just the interests of their constituents, but their lungs and beating hearts — in pursuit of personal power and ideological fantasies.

We are seeing at least three varieties of GOP political necromania.

The first, practiced most vigorously by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, uses an ongoing pandemic as a stage for the display of ideological zeal. In this view, the covid-19 crisis — rather than being a story of remarkable but flawed scientists and public health experts deploying the best of science against a vicious microbe — has been an opportunity for the left to impose “authoritarian, arbitrary and seemingly never-ending mandates and restrictions.” Never mind that U.S. public health officials are not part of the left, and are authentically confused about the equation of their advice with ideology.

In the name of freedom, politicians such as the Florida governor employ the power of their office to prevent other social institutions from taking responsible, lifesaving steps in the midst of a pandemic. This is an effort by populists to prove that their MAGA commitments outweigh all common sense, public responsibility and basic humanity.

vilification of those most dedicated to preserving the lives of Americans. Public officials such as Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) invent a conspiratorial backstory to the covid crisis and depict the most visible representatives of the United States’ covid response as scheming, deceptive deep-state operatives. Any change in emphasis or strategy by scientists — an essential commitment of the scientific method — is viewed as rich opposition research.

Paul talks of jailing Anthony S. Fauci in the midst of our public health crisis on the basis of imaginary claims. But the fundraising appeals to MAGA loyalists that immediately follow such attacks by Paul and others are real. And for a subset of true believers, Paul’s acts of dehumanization provide cover and permission for threats of violence against scientists and their families. This is the ultimate destination of conspiracy thinking — toward direct acts by unbalanced people against supposed conspirators. Some GOP leaders are willing to feed the most dangerous social passions — to play crackpot roulette — for their own gain.

A third category of Republican death wish is the practice of strategic ignorance. In a case such as Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) — America’s most reliable source of unreliable information about covid-19 — such ignorance might not be feigned. He might well believe that gargling with mouthwash call kill the coronavirus, and that thousands of people are regularly dying from vaccine side effects, and that a pandemic that has taken more than 800,000 lives in the United States is “overhyped.”

Says Johnson of the vaccines: “We now know that fully vaccinated individuals can catch covid. … So what’s the point?” Well, the point is to prevent serious expressions of the disease and avoid the filling of hospitals and morgues. Johnson’s brand of home-brewed epidemiology will inevitably result in added suffering, tragedy and grief.

He offers his lack of intellectual seriousness as an element of his political appeal — similar to handing out a résumé with the firings and felonies highlighted. Even when comprehensively refuted, he takes the pose of a brave man willing to question the repressive experts. This is what leads a conduit of myths and lies to claim: “I’m just one of those truth tellers.” Such an assertion must be narrowed to a particular version of “truth.” It is the “truth” found in the glow of a computer screen at 2 a.m. while wandering the far reaches of the Internet. It is the “truth” of secret knowledge about conspiracies granted to an intrepid few.

Johnson is not only making dangerous statements about the coronavirus. He is using his willingness to cite stupid things as the evidence of his independence from the rule of professionals and experts. He is defining democracy, in the words of Tom Nichols, author of “The Death of Expertise: The Campaign Against Established Knowledge and Why It Matters,” as “unearned respect for unfounded opinions.” Johnson is practicing strategic ignorance.

This would be bad for democracy at any time. It encourages the development of not merely alternative views but alternative realities. And this makes the pursuit of a common good nearly impossible.

During a pandemic, however, the celebration of ignorance is an invitation to death. Public health depends on social cooperation. If a significant group of Americans regard the musing of a politician such as Johnson as equal in value to Fauci’s lifelong accumulation of expertise, the basis for rational action is lost. And the result is needless death.

US President Joe Biden on Monday promised to provide advanced air defense systems to Ukraine after Russian missiles rained down on the capital Kyiv and other cities, the White House said in a statement.

Biden spoke to President Volodymyr Zelensky and “pledged to continue providing Ukraine with the support needed to defend itself, including advanced air defense systems,” the statement said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened more “severe” attacks against Ukraine after the biggest wave of strikes in months killed at least 11 in retaliation for an explosion that damaged a key bridge linking Russia to the Moscow-annexed Crimean peninsula.

After speaking with Biden, Zelensky tweeted that “air defense is currently the number 1 priority in our defense cooperation.”

Kyiv said Russian forces had fired more than 80 missiles on cities across the country and that Russia had also used Iranian drones launched from neighbouring Belarus.

Biden “conveyed his condolences to the loved ones of those killed and injured in these senseless attacks,” the White House said.

“He also underscored his ongoing engagement with allies and partners to continue imposing costs on Russia (and) holding Russia accountable for its war crimes and atrocities.”<

The crime situation in St. Louis is out of control. City officials cut the number of police officers over a year ago and the city is still short officers. 911 calls frequently take hours to answer.

Car thefts have skyrocketed in St. Louis in recent months, with city leadership threatening lawsuits against Kia and Hyundai for an alleged defect that makes certain makes of the cars easier to steal.

“Our drivers probably get about five of these things a day. Just Kias and Hyundais getting stolen,” tow truck driver Mark Hartmann told KMOV last week of thefts in the city.

Auto thefts in St. Louis have doubled this year, according to KMOV. In July alone, the city averaged about 21 Kia and Hyundai theft incidents each day. That number increased to 23 thefts each day in August, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch previously reported.
