Salmon Rushdie stabbed at speaking event in New York

UPDATE from the Daily Mail:

Salman Rushdie is on a ventilator, cannot speak, will likely lose an eye, his arm nerves are severed and his liver damaged: Cops raid New Jersey home of suspect, 24, ‘with sympathies toward Iranian government’ who stabbed author up to 15 times

It should be remembered that Salmon was arguably the first person to get a general death sentence imposed on him by Islamic authorities in modern times. The crime? He published a book that asked a reasonable question about the founder of Islam, Mohammad. I say founder in the same sense that I would call Joseph Smith the founder of the Mormon faith. Except Mormonism is a lot less stabby.

If memory serves, and I haven’t read Rushdie’s book in question, but as it was explained to me, the issue was this:

At some point in Islamic scripture, a problematic or contradictory verse was pointed out to Mohammad by one of his followers. The answer Mohammad gave to the questioner, was that instead of the Angel Gabriel reciting that verse, it was actually Satan, and Mohammad had been tricked into dictating that verse which was actually from Satan.

Salman asked the highly logical question: ‘If Mohammad can be tricked by Satan so he doesn’t know the difference, how to we know the entire Koran isn’t by Satan except those few verses which might actually have been from Gabriel? I mean, since he doesn’t know the difference. Hence the title of Mr. Rushdie’s book which caused the demand for his death, “The Satanic Verses”.

At that early stage in the degradation of the West and Western values, people stood up in droves to defend Mr. Rushdie and freedom of speech. Relativism, that early and powerful rhetorical weapon of the left, had not yet grown to the point where leaders and people generally questioned the right to say things that might offend desert savages. The Queen of England made him a Knight Bachelor.  Highly doubtful she would today.

Salman went through a lot of changes in order to end the Fatwa, including making a full apology and retraction according to Islamic standards for offence caused in the Satanic Verses. Which changed nothing. At the least it should have taught modern people accused of crimes of political correctness that giving an apology to leftists and muslims is like giving an hors d’oeuvre to the alligator right before you jump in his mouth.

The Fatwa on Salmon was a wake up call to people who were capable of independent thought. But the fulfilment of it in the form of this stabbing will not be. Quite the opposite. Main stream media will likely not connect Islam with the event. Already some reports are not mentioning the attacker was a muslim.

Here is Indian News on the stabbing:

Global News which has the same relationship with the truth as Perdue pharmaceuticals, says no motive is known for the attack. Which makes Global news the only people unaware of the fatwa in the entire Western world and the Middle East along with India and Pakistan.

(In the above video, we learn the problem is “hate”. Which of course gives the investigating body, the FBI, even greater licence to destroy people based on how they claim the people they destroy, feel about things. “With the left, the point is never the point. The Revolution is always the point.” And never let a good crisis go to waste when it comes to advancing the revolution. We all know they will use this attack to limit classic civ and its adherents and in no way protect us from Islam, or the threat of Islamic blasphemy laws.)

  1. Being too much focused on the Corona hysteria lately, I had nearly forgotten about this other Mass Formation Psychosis inspired by islam. Although they are flying more under the radar we should remain alert…reading more of Robert Spencer etc.

    • Quite right. When Koran says “Allah most merciful etc. etc.” they mean that their God did not screw them over as hard as he could have.

  2. It doesn’t matter what the adherents of Islam do, their victims will always be victimized all over again by the “Police” and “Government” and the real problem will not be addressed, only used to further their vice-grip, through more arbitrary laws, over Non-Muslims.
Any Crisis, no matter how small, immagined or not, is blown out of proportion or belittled to terrorize and to enslave.

  3. One again: Police are baffled and looking for motives. I think we can rule out Islam from the get-go, so that’s at least one stone that doesn’t have to be turned over.

    Maybe it was Trump! Amirite?

  5. The history of these verses is quite interesting:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satanic_Verses
The verses praise the three pagan Meccan goddesses: al-L?t, al-‘Uzzá, and Man?t and can be read in early prophetic biographies of Muhammad by al-W?qid?, Ibn Sa’d and the tafsir of al-Tabar?.
    [..]
The historicity of the incident is rejected today by modern Muslim scholars (Ulama), who cite the theological doctrine of Muhammad’s moral infallibility (‘isma), which implies that Muhammad in his perfection could have never been fooled by Satan.
    [..]
As he was reciting these verses of S?rat an-Najm,[7] considered a revelation from the angel Gabriel: “Have you thought of al-L?t and al-‘Uzzá and about the third deity, al-Man?t?” (Quran 53:19–20), Satan tempted him to utter the following line: “These are the exalted ghar?niq, whose intercession is hoped for.”
Al-L?t, al-‘Uzz? and Man?t were three goddesses worshipped by the Meccans. Discerning the precise meaning of the word ghar?niq has proven difficult [..] whether the phrase had intended to attribute a divine nature to the three “idols” is a matter of dispute. In either case, scholars generally agree on the meaning of the second half of the verse, “whose intercession is hoped for”, and this by itself would contradict a core tenet of what would become orthodox Islamic doctrine, namely that no saint or deity – nor Muhammad himself – can intercede for Muslims.

  6. I just went through the daily mail article. This guy was a walking red flag, another “known wolf”: “Matar had fake driving license in name of HEZBOLLAH commander and praised Iran’s Revolutionary Guard on social media”.
Btw there’s a comment on DM of a Brit wondering why it was a knife and not a gun. The answer is that in islamic cultures, it is considered more honorable to use a knife.
