Reader’s Links for June 26th, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. I haven’t checked out the organisation under which this writer writes, but he provides an interesting and fundamental angle on war. Industrial production capacity of scale is required for a war machine. My only criticism of his position is that it assumes the outcome of this war was unknown before it began which, similar to the war on Covid-19 (as it was characterized by our own governments), had many predetermined features.

    • They are about the need for a large industrial base, this is why the left has hard to ship all of our manufacturing capabilities to the far east. As for the draw down of our munitions inventory the left has done that everytime they have gained power since Nam ended.

The enemies of freedom know this know they can run wild until Jan 21 2025. We are at massive risk until then.

    • Super, terrific site, Johnny!

“In short, US annual artillery production would at best only last for 10 days to two weeks of combat in Ukraine. If the initial estimate of Russian shells fired is over by 50%, it would only extend the artillery supplied for three weeks.

The US is not the only country facing this challenge. In a recent war game involving US, UK and French forces, UK forces exhausted national stockpiles of critical ammunition after eight days.

Unfortunately, this is not only the case with artillery. Anti-tank Javelins and air-defence Stingers are in the same boat. The US shipped 7,000 Javelin missiles to Ukraine – roughly one-third of its stockpile – with more shipments to come. Lockheed Martin produces about 2,100 missiles a year, though this number might ramp up to 4,000 in a few years. Ukraine claims to use 500 Javelin missiles every day.

The expenditure of cruise missiles and theatre ballistic missiles is just as massive.… [I]n three months of combat, Russia has burned through four times the US annual missile production…

      • The US has been reducing the production of all types of munitions or stopping it entirely every times a Dem is in the White House starting with Jimmy Carter. Another thing they have done is try and drive all of our manufacturing businesses overseas so we will have a hard time rearming. The Dems have shown that they are out to destroy the US but the low information voters refuse to look at the evidence. We are going into WWIII with a crippled military, a coastal population that doesn’t want to work or fight and a sock puppet for President. Fortunately the rot hasn’t spread to much of the heartland so we can still survive after a long and bloody war

  2. At four-twenty five
    There’s a most-clever guy
Who will brighten your day I am sure
He will tell of his murder
    Of innocent things
Yet you won’t be the slightest perturbed
    You should watch it all
Cause the first one is good
Though he comes from an era gone by
For he tells us a story
    That’s much, much too gory
For countries with sissies for guys.

  3. This is very, very good. Melting American snowflakes are considering moving north now because of Roe vs Wade. One of the most idiotic of all commie propaganda sites, Yahoo News, outlines how to become a Dystopia citizen:

Well, Yanks, if you really want to break into prison be my guest, but waiting in line is for suckers. Pretend you’re a transgender tard terrorist, with a side order of climate-change refugee dysphoria meatballs, take a taxi to Roxham Road, and let the Mountie baggage handlers haul your sorry arse in. You’ll be paid handsomely to undermine the system and may even land a job in Dear Leader’s cabinet. Then you get to exploit your privilege by making the life of every taxpayer miserable. You may even decide to retire early on a full pension so you can live like a king back in whatever shit hole you came from, except when you’re sick, at which time you return for treatment. Paradise found. Many Dems mumbled about moving north when Trump was elected, too, but it never amounts to anything. It’s all just sour grapes from whiners.

  5. Chris Martensen chomps numbers, explaining that the inflation we have is just starting, and that it is an intentional creation used to transfer wealth from the average person to the rich. I do agree. Low interest rates (cheap money) for a long time creates overextended debt cripples who fail when rates rise. Those of means then reap all hard assets that become available once the average Joe becomes insolvent and must walk away from his tangible assets (collateral). He offers the litmus of the “outside-in” perspective, which tells us to look at emerging markets to see what is coming here. In his example he uses Turkey, which is experiencing inflation well over 100%. 37 min:

  6. A very good Day By Day Cartoon

In 1861 the States were trying to seize too much power and had to be stopped. Now the same people (politically speaking) are trying to seize too much power and have to be stopped.

Unfortunately stopping them is going to be a long and bloody war. Our internal fight means that our foreign allies will be on their own for a while.

  7. sky news UK – Ukraine: 80% of troops killed or injured in elite military unit, says commander

A commander of an elite unit of Ukrainian marines has told Sky News the majority of his best trained troops have been injured or killed.

Speaking near the frontline, south of the city of Severodonetsk, company commander Oleksandr said a core of experienced soldiers who had been fighting together since 2018 have been lost.

    • The head of the UAF Army, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, wanted to withdraw from Severodonetsk three weeks ago. Like that Soviet-built fortress Azovstal in Mariupol, it’s a virtually impregnable bunker, but the army was surrounded and cut off from supplies.

Prez Z nixed retreat. He’ll be sacrificing a garrison of 7000 men at Lysychans’k for propaganda. How long before the middle and upper tier officer corps decide they’ve had enough of this clown?

He’s reckless. Boosted by the feckless, like BoJo. I can see him crossing a red line, where we’ll be forced directly into the war we’re been stumbling into.

    • Prof. Katchanovski thread:

“Severodonetsk is important for political and military reasons. This industrial town became the administrative center of the Luhansk Region after Luhansk, its capital city, became capital of the self-proclaimed separatist Luhansk republic in 2014.” 1/

[link to interview: Why is Severodonetsk so important for Ukraine?]

      2 weeks ago:
“Since Ukraine now controls only a few percent of the Luhansk Region, Severodonetsk is regarded as an important symbolic value by Zelenskyy. This town is also the main battlefield of the Russia-Ukraine war right now.” 2/

“The Russian and pro-Russian separatist forces attempt to completely encircle a large number of the Ukrainian forces in Severodonetsk and neighboring locations.” #UkraineWar 3/

“His own statements and various Ukrainian reports and other evidence suggest that Zelenskyy himself ordered Ukrainian military not to withdraw from this town and nearby locations in spite of the real possibility that they could be completely surrounded by the Russian forces.” 4/

Fall of #Severodonetsk & de facto encirclements of #Ukrainian forces there & in #Lysychansk & Zolote were predictable. I suggested this in my La Razon interview about Severodonetsk battle 2 weeks ago. But #Zelenskyy decided to gamble for PR reasons. 5/

  8. 33 Senators in a letter to Biden have said that letting the States have their own laws is dangerous. They are urging him to use the full force of the Federal Government to stop the conservative States from restricting abortions.

  9. The left doesn’t believe in democracy, freedom, and individual rights, we do and aren’t letting them dictate how we are supposed to live. Because of the resistance the left is determined to use violence to force us to follow their orders

  10. Daily Mail –Moroccan police accused of ‘brutality’ as officer is filmed using his baton to strike wounded migrant lying helpless on the ground surrounded by bodies – as death toll rises to 37 after 2,000 stormed fence to enter Spanish enclave

Horror images show scores of bodies piled up next to Africa-EU border fence

Some 2,000 migrants tried to scale wall into Spain’s Moroccan enclave Melilla

But crowd pile-ups and reported police brutality resulted in dozens of deaths

NGO Walking Without Borders claims at least 37 dead; official figure still 23

    • “A Spanish police source said the migrants who stormed the fence had used sticks, knives and acid against security forces and had changed tactics to try crossing at one perceived weak spot en masse, rather than in separate attempts along the fence.

“Images posted on Twitter by Spain’s Civil Guard union – whose veracity Reuters was unable to verify – showed a large column of mostly young male migrants streaming through streets near the border.
Some appeared to be carrying sticks and throwing projectiles as puffs of smoke marked the air around them.

“Video showed the migrants cheering and raising their arms in celebration as they ran through the streets of Melilla after storming the fence.”

  11. Russian Source:
China: After the start of the operation in Taiwan, China will not rely on large-scale military operations of the army-Shukan Gendai

China is closely monitoring the progress of the Russian special operation and, taking into account the experience of Russian military operations, is planning actions against Taiwan.

In order to avoid a large-scale campaign, the Chinese leadership is making the main bet on the elimination of the Taiwanese government and the suppression of the will of Taiwanese to resist, writes the Japanese magazine Shukan Gendai…

The Chinese authorities adopted the practice of giving the military actions of the army a non-military character from the American military concept in 2008.

However, if China, in the case of an operation in Taiwan, would try to avoid condemnation in the West, then given the condemnation of the Russian special operation, it becomes clear that such an approach will not work.

Many observers believe that the main reason for China’s use of the concept of “special operation” instead of “war” is the plans to conduct a lightning operation in Taiwan and avoid protracted hostilities.

“The decision on the war against Taiwan should be made quickly to avoid its prolongation and translation into a “war of attrition”.

To do this, first of all, an operation should be carried out to decapitate the Taiwanese leadership and destroy every one of the stubbornly resisting “elements defending the independence of the island.”

If these people are left alive, they can encourage the Taiwanese people to try to resist the liberation forces and prolong the conflict…

According to Shukan Gendai, China drew attention to the fact that, without eliminating Zelensky and the nationalist leadership of Ukraine, Russia allowed the growth of the enemy’s will to resist.

This led to protracted hostilities in the face of Western sanctions and arms supplies. According to the publication, Russia’s successes in Ukraine are now accompanied by considerable difficulties.

Therefore, the Chinese authorities revised their initial plans and began planning a possible operation in Taiwan, abandoning large-scale amphibious landings and the deployment of large-scale battles throughout the island.

Instead, the Chinese military expects to conduct a special operation to destroy the leadership, the basis of the political regime, and break the will of the Taiwanese to resist.
