Reader’s Links for May 28th, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • Where? If it was here please send me a screen grab of the error. I see your comments below with the numbers though.

      • It was on here. It said access denied. I took out the line that the doctor informed Walensky and other members of the Safety Advisory committee about the boy’s death, broke it all down to get the numbers out there, even though I am now of the opinion the monsters will never be stopped in this mad world.

Saw my neighbour for the first time in a long time, one side of her face is sagging, yes she got the booster and she STILL social distances. GRRR. She doesn’t know I am not vaccinated or she would probably arrange to have someone drive a wooden stake through my heart. I wanted to tell he there is nothing to fear but fear itself, but unfortunately she is too far gone. Very sad to see such paranoia.

        • Please try again with the line intact. There are no filters that I am aware of on the site, so please try again. Its important for me to know if there are errors and especially if the site censors.

            • Thank you. Ill send this thread to the guy who understands these things.

The only thing I can think of at the moment, is if you tried to scrape and paste material from another site, sometimes it accidentally grabs code and this site will block that for safety.

One way to test that, is to scrape the same material that caused the block, then put it into a text editor, a really simple one like Textedit on Mac or notepad or something that doesnt do code, then scrape it from there and try again that way.

              That often works.

              • Thank you for tolerating me, I do not have a clue what you are talking about, I did what I always do when putting up information from VARES.

I was going to take a course on computers but it was cancelled can you guess why? LOL

reuters – Iran shows off underground drone base, but not its location, state media report

May 28 (Reuters) – The Iranian army has given some details – but not the exact location – of an underground base for its military drones, state media reported on Saturday, amid simmering tensions in the Gulf.

State TV said 100 drones were being kept in the heart of the Zagros mountains, including Ababil-5, which it said were fitted with Qaem-9 missiles, an Iranian-made version of air-to-surface U.S. Hellfire.

“No doubt the drones of Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces are the region’s most powerful,” army commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said. “Our capability to upgrade drones is unstoppable,” he added.

The Iranian state TV correspondent said he had made the 45-minute helicopter flight on Thursday from Kermanshah in western Iran to a secret underground drone site. He was allowed to take blindfolds off only upon arrival at the base, he said.

TV footage showed rows of drones fitted with missiles in a tunnel, which it said was several hundred metres underground.

The TV report came a day after Iranian Revolutionary Guards seized two Greek tankers in the Gulf, in an apparent retaliation for the confiscation of Iranian oil by the United States from a tanker held off the Greek coast.

Greek authorities last month impounded the Iranian-flagged Pegas, with 19 Russian crew members on board, due to European Union sanctions. The United States later confiscated the Iranian oil cargo held onboard and plans to send it to the United States on another vessel.

The Pegas was later released, but the seizure inflamed tensions at a delicate time, with Iran and world powers seeking to revive a nuclear deal that former U.S. President Donald Trump abandoned, reimposing sanctions on Tehran.

  4. ctv news – Truth tracker: Analyzing the World Economic Forum ‘Great Reset’ conspiracy theory

The World Economic Forum’s 51st-annual meeting wrapped up Thursday in the luxurious alpine town of Davos, Switzerland. Private jets have shuttled the billionaires, global leaders and business magnates away, yet conspiracy theories about the elite and influential lobbying organization remain.

Conspiracy theorists say the World Economic Forum (WEF) is pulling the levers of world power. Some even accuse it of using or even orchestrating the COVID-19 pandemic to restructure societies in favour of multinational corporations and leftist global elites through a project called “The Great Reset.” It’s claimed the World Economic Forum’s influence extends right to Ottawa and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government.

Roland Paris, a professor and director of the University of Ottawa’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, says, “none of these concerns are legitimate.”

“The WEF brings people together for discussions,” Paris told “It may have pretensions as an organization that produces policy ideas, but it has little-to-no influence on government policy.”

In Canada, former member of Parliament Maxime Bernier and Conservative leadership hopeful Pierre Poilievre have repeatedly taken aim at the World Economic Forum and “The Great Reset,” accusing it of serving a globalist agenda at the expense of regular Canadians.

“I have made it clear that my ministers in my government will be banned from participating in the World Economic Forum,” Poilievre, an Ontario MP, said to applause in a May 23 federal Conservative leadership campaign video. “Work for Canada! If you want to go to Davos, to that conference, make it a one-way ticket. But you can’t be part of our government and working for a policy agenda that is against the interests of our people.”

While the World Economic Forum has long been subject to legitimate criticisms about global inequalities and elitist influence, such critiques were conflated into full-blown conspiracy theories in June 2020, when the World Economic Forum held an annual meeting under the name “The Great Reset.” Although short on specifics, an article published that month by German economist, engineer and World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab argued that the COVID-19 pandemic recovery could be used to make economies more sustainable and equitable through “a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.”

“I think the reason why it attracted so much attention was partially because of the title, ‘The Great Reset,’ and because it outlined a program,” Robert O’Brien, a professor of political science at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont., told “I think it was a red flag to conspiracy theorists and to far-right nationalists.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau then seemingly added fuel to the conspiracy fire in a Sept. 2020 United Nations conference by saying the “pandemic has provided an opportunity for a reset” and to “reimagine economic systems.”

Videos also emerged online of Schwab praising Trudeau. At Davos in 2016, Schwab said of Trudeau, “I couldn’t imagine anybody who could represent more the world which will come out of this fourth industrial revolution.”

During a 2017 Harvard University talk, Schwab also declared that Trudeau and more than “half of his cabinet” were Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum: a program that promotes promising leaders aged 30 to 40. Other Canadian alumni include Chrystia Freeland, Jagmeet Singh, Andrew Scheer and Rona Ambrose.

“We penetrate the cabinets,” Schwab boasted at Harvard.

Angela Merkel, Tony Blair, Emmanuel Macron, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Ivanka Trump have also participated in the program.

Conservative MP and former cabinet minister Michelle Rempel Garner was named a Young Global Leader in 2016, and later attended a World Economic Forum meeting in Davos in Jan. 2018.

In Feb. 2022, Rempel Garner responded to ongoing harassment from Canadian conspiracy theorists with an op-ed entitled: “I went to Davos. The World Economic Forum is not running Canada.”

“The WEF is certainly elitist, but, to my eyes, it fell far short of being a cabal bent on global domination,” Rempel Garner wrote. “And as much as I do not support Justin Trudeau, I would wager a safe guess that Canadian electoral politics and personal ambition have much more impact on his policy decisions than Klaus Schwab.”

David Black, an associate professor of communication and culture at Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C., describes the World Economic Forum meetings in Davos as “an elite talking shop.”

“Is the WEF a body with intellectual influence and an opportunity for elites to network? Yes,” Black told “Is it in the business of controlling sovereign governments around the world? No.”

John Baird, another Conservative MP and former cabinet minister, was also a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader who later attended meetings in Davos. Baird currently serves as Poilievre’s campaign co-chair.

“He knows better, but he is clearly pandering to a segment of the population that distrusts institutions and falls for conspiracy theories,” Paris, of the University of Ottawa, said of Poilievre.

“It really does show his populist leanings,” O’Brien from McMaster University said. “It’s concerning to me that he’s basing part of his program for being the next leader of the Conservative Party, and perhaps, who knows, one day prime minister of the country, by appealing to these fringe views.”

An argument can be made that the World Economic Forum is elitist and detached, but there’s no credible evidence it controls world governments.

“The current wave of conservative populism argues that such institutions seek to manipulate public opinion, as well as control the wealth and political power of the average person to elites’ advantage,” Black from Royal Roads University explained. “In effect, such institutions are imagined as a kind of secret unelected government, and the real and unaccountable centres of power in the world.”

“It’s a forum for discussion; you know, no decisions are taken there,” O’Brien said of the World Economic Forum. “The only people who should be afraid of it are people who are afraid of the exchange of ideas.”

Biden’s Top USAID Climate Official Is a Klaus Schwab Fellow

Joe Biden’s chief climate officer and deputy assistant administrator at the U.S. Agency for International Development was a fellow at the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, which was founded by World Economic Forum Chairman Klaus Schwab.

Biden’s USAID climate chief, Gillian Caldwell, has significant influence over the White House’s climate and energy policy, which the World Economic Forum (WEF) has pointed to as a key element of its Great Reset agenda.

The WEF has not only been accused by its detractors of seeking to use the COVID-19 outbreak to advance big government, but also of advocating the abolition of private property under the guise of combating climate change.

Caldwell was a Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship fellow in 2001, earning an “all expenses paid participation at the World Economic Forum in Davos annually,” per her resume.

The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship was founded by WEF Chairman Klaus Schwab in 1998 and is run by his wife, Hilde.

Caldwell’s resume also notes that in addition to attending several WEF events, she has been tagged as a blogger by the organization.

Many of the blog posts Caldwell authored from 2006 center around panels she attended and influential figures she spoke with while at the WEF.

“Day 1 at the World Economic Forum. I attended a session this morning on how we did as a global community in the last year in the areas identified as top priorities by Davos attendees last year: poverty, equitable globalization, climate change, education, global governance, and the Middle East,” she wrote.

Before becoming part of the Biden White House, Caldwell was a consultant for various left-wing entities, including Arabella Advisors, which has deep ties to George Soros. She was also a Strategy Consultant for the Robin Hood Foundation, to which Soros has donated millions of dollars.

“Gillian serves as the Chief Climate Officer and is responsible for directing and overseeing all climate and environment work across the agency. She also serves as Deputy Assistant Administrator, overseeing DDI’s Center for Environment, Energy, and Infrastructure and the Office of Environmental and Social Risk Management,” reads Caldwell’s professional bio on USAID’s website.

The USAID has previously funded research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, believed by many to be the source of COVID-19.

In a World Economic Forum-produced video touting its Great Reset, the group says that (if it gets its way) by 2030, “you’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy.”

“Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed,” Schwab wrote about the Great Reset in an article online. “In short, we need a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.”

Arabella Advisors, to which Caldwell also has ties, has recently come under scrutiny for its role in moving dark money around to left-wing politicians and causes.

Founded in 2005 by Eric Kessler, a Clinton administration official, Arabella is made up of five nonprofits — the New Venture Fund, the Sixteen Thirty Fund, the Hopewell Fund, the Windward Fund, and the North Fund.

Per Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of the conservative Americans for Public Trust, the Sixteen Thirty Fund alone donated more than $60 million to Democratic PACs and Biden.

The activities of these dark money organizations run afoul of U.S. federal election law, which prohibits foreign nationals from directly or indirectly spending in elections.

One of the main donors to Arabella and other Soros-tied groups is Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss, who is neither a U.S. citizen nor a permanent resident and is therefore a foreign national under the law.

“We know that for years Wyss has funneled millions of dollars to left-wing nonprofits that boost Democratic turnout and provide partisan campaign strategy,” said Hayden Ludwig, a senior investigative researcher at the conservative think tank Capital Research Center.

“By weaponizing charitable groups for political gain, he’s effectively bypassed campaign finance restrictions barring non-citizens from meddling in American elections. Given how much money the Left commanded in 2018 and 2020, I’d expect Wyss to continue pouring huge sums into these leftist groups in 2022 and beyond,” Ludwig added.

Caldwell’s ties to some of the most powerful globalists begs the question: Who’s really calling the shots in the White House? Biden, or the oligarchs in Davos?

    • Macron, Scholz demand Putin release Mariupol’s defenders

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are demanding that Russian President Vladimir Putin release about 2,500 Ukrainian troops taken prisoner at the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol.

The Elysee Palace reported this following Macron’s phone call with Scholz and Putin, Ukrinform reports.

“The President of the Republic and the German Chancellor have demanded the release of some 2,500 defenders of Azovstal taken prisoner by the Russian forces,” the statement said.

According to the statement, Macron and Scholz in talks with Putin also insisted on the urgency of lifting the blockade of Odesa in order to allow the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea in order to avoid a world food crisis. “They took note of the Russian President’s promise to grant ships access to the port for the export of grain crops without it being exploited militarily by Russia and if it was first cleared of mines,” the statement said.

In addition, Macron and Scholz reiterated to Putin that any solution to the war must be negotiated between Moscow and Kiev, with respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

As was reported earlier, the Ukrainian military defended Mariupol for more than 80 days. The evacuation of Ukrainian defenders from the Azovstal plant, blocked by Russian invaders, began on May 16 and lasted for several days.

After the withdrawal of the Ukrainian military from Azovstal, they are waiting to be exchanged for Russian prisoners of war.

If you were to read the play-by-play of information in the U.K. Telegraph [SEE HERE], you could get whiplash from the diametrically opposed narratives coming from both sides in the propaganda war.

On one hand the western narrative is that Russia is losing, getting weaker, running out of money and weapons.

On the other hand, France and Germany are asking Russian President Vladimir Putin to release all of the captured soldiers he is gathering, while western media claim all the Ukraine retreats are “strategic”. It would appear the Monty Python knight has lost all his appendages and is yelling, “come back coward, I’ll bite your kneecaps.”

[…]Meanwhile the U.S. State Department, the actual combatant command center for the U.S. proxy war, along with internationally aligned diplomatic corps and the U.S. intelligence apparatus, are continuing to push the propaganda as if we cannot see how clearly staged it is.

Indeed, with the Pentagon preferring a ceasefire and peaceful negotiations while the State Dept demands more war, these are very remarkable times on the other side of the looking glass.

    • The US government reportedly paid to send Starlink terminals to Ukraine

SpaceX previously said the US didn’t provide financial aid

Despite SpaceX implying that the US didn’t give money to send Starlink terminals to Ukraine in March, a report from The Washington Post reveals that the government actually paid millions of dollars for equipment and transportation. The report found that the US Agency for International Development, or USAID, paid $1,500 apiece for 1,333 terminals, adding up to around $2 million.

USAID disclosed the number of terminals it bought from the company in a press release from early April that has since been altered to remove mentions of the purchase.

According to space reporter Joey Roulette, SpaceX donated 3,667 terminals to Ukraine, or around $10 million worth, after also factoring in the three months of data it provided with the terminals. However, it’s possible this donation was partially subsidized by USAID’s $1,500-a-unit purchase. The Washington Post says it’s unclear whether Ukraine received standard terminals, which SpaceX currently charges $600 for, or the advanced terminals, which were announced in February and cost $2,500.

If USAID purchased regular terminals, it paid $900 over retail cost per unit (adding up to around $1.2 million) — notably, a recent report said that the terminals cost SpaceX around $1,000 to build. It is possible that USAID was also paying for internet service, which costs $110 a month for Starlink’s standard plan and $500 a month for its premium plan available with the more expensive terminals.

The Washington Post also reports that USAID agreed to pay more than $800,000 for transportation of the 5,000 terminals that were sent to Ukraine through what the agency now calls a “public-private partnership.”

In February, Ukraine’s vice prime minister posted images of a truck filled with what appeared to be standard Starlink terminals, days after he tweeted at SpaceX CEO Elon Musk asking for assistance. It’s unclear whether these terminals were sent solely by SpaceX, though The Washington Post’s report does note that USAID had previously bought 175 Starlink terminals as part of a separate agreement.

It does appear like SpaceX did make a significant charitable donation to Ukraine. USAID told the Post in a statement that the “delivery of Starlink terminals were made possible by a range of stakeholders, whose combined contributions valued over $15 million,” and its original press release said that SpaceX donated $10 million worth of equipment in service. But, as with many other SpaceX projects, the company does appear to have gotten a significant amount of public funding for the project.

  5. SICKENING story. How many good doctors have lost their jobs for treating patients with Covid?

A Toronto physician has vaccinated hundreds of children under five- some as young as 6 months old – against Covid-19, despite the vaccine not being authorized by Health Canada for this age group.

Public Health officials stepped in after they discovered Dr. Christopher Sun, a family doctor in Weston-Mount Dennis was giving Covid vaccines to ineligible children.

In a conversation with the Star, Sun said he gave the Covid vaccines to about 500 kids between the ages of 6 months and 5 years during a 3 month span, a decision he made “to protect the children”.

In March, Toronto Public Health told him to stop vaccinating kids and reported him to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, said Sun, adding he still vaccinated this age group until the end of that month.

UNBELIEVABLE what is going on in this country.

  6. The Telegraph UK – AstraZeneca vaccine may increase risk of serious neurological condition

Scientists believe the jab’s Trojan horse delivery system could be causing a rise in Guillain-Barré syndrome cases

The AstraZeneca vaccine may increase the risk of the serious neurological condition Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) with the jab’s Trojan horse delivery system possibly to blame, scientists believe, in a discovery which may apply to similar vaccines.

GBS is a rare condition which causes muscle numbness and pain, and can hinder movement, walking, swallowing and, sometimes, even breathing.

It is commonly caused by the gastroenteritis bug Campylobacter, which has a surface coating which looks slightly human, and so can sometimes trigger the body to attack its own nerves instead of invading germs, leading to GBS.

Now, scientists at University College London (UCL) have found a rise in cases of GBS in the first two to four weeks after the AstraZeneca vaccine, but not in other vaccines, such as Pfizer or Moderna.

Like many vaccines, the Oxford jab uses a weakened chimp adenovirus to deliver the coronavirus spike protein into the body, and scientists have speculated that a reaction to adenovirus may be responsible for the rise in cases.

Adenovirus usually causes the common cold, but scientists are starting to think it may also mimic human cells in a similar way to Campylobacter, confusing the immune system into attacking the body.

Lead author Prof Michael Lunn (UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology) said: “At the moment we don’t know why a vaccine may cause these very small rises in GBS.

“It may be that a non-specific immune activation in susceptible individuals occurs, but if that were the case similar risks might apply to all vaccine types.

“It is therefore logical to suggest that the simian adenovirus vector, often used to develop vaccines, including AstraZeneca’s, may account for the increased risk.”

    Unusual spike in GBS reports

Adenovirus-based vaccines are used against a wide variety of pathogens, tuberculosis, HIV and malaria.

GBS affects about 1,500 people in the UK each year and 30 to 40 per cent of cases have no known causes, leading researchers to suspect that adenovirus could be a factor.

During the 1976 swine flu vaccination campaign in the USA, there was a small increase in GBS associated with the flu jab at that time, leading scientists to question whether the Covid jabs could have a similar effect.

To find out, UCL researchers carried out a population-based study of NHS data in England to track GBS case rates against vaccination rollout.

Between January to October 2021, 996 GBS cases were recorded in the UK National Immunoglobulin Database, but there was an unusual spike in GBS reports occurring between March and April 2021.

For these two months there were about 140 cases per month compared to historical rates of about 100 per month – a 40 per cent increase.

Analysis showed 198 GBS cases (20 per cent) occurred within six weeks of the first-dose Covid-19 vaccination in England.

Overall, following a first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine there were 5.8 excess GBS cases per million doses of vaccine, equating to an absolute total excess between January-July 2021 of between 98-140 cases.

The rate is still significantly lower than the one in 1,000 rate of GBS associated with Campylobacter.

Data suggest Johnson & Johnson vaccine raises GBS risk

Recent data from the US also suggests that the Johnson & Johnson Janssen vaccine – which also uses an adenovirus entry system – raises the risk of GBS to similar levels as the AstraZeneca jab.

“We know that Pfizer and Moderna don’t cause BDS but Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca do and the only commonality link is an adenovirus vector,” added Prof Lund.

“Johnson & Johnson is not the same one because they use a human adenovirus but it’s similar and the implications are broad because adenoviruses are used in quite a lot of vaccines and genetic therapies.

“The benefits from these vaccines and drugs are huge and the risk is tiny and there aren’t that many viral vectors you can use, but it’s good that the public are aware of the risks.

“And theoretically, if we know what virus is causing GBS, we can turn it off and we might be able to prevent disease progression.”

The new research was published in the journal Brain.

Vaccine benefits ‘continue to outweigh potential risks’

An AstraZeneca spokesman said: “Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) has been reported very rarely following vaccination with Vaxzevria. Vaccination of any kind is a known risk factor for GBS and it is noted in the manuscript that the small number of GBS cases appears similar to increases previously seen in other mass vaccination campaigns.

“It should also be noted that in the UK, Vaxzevria had been administered to more people than any other vaccine during the time frame studied in the manuscript.

“The study observes that the small numbers of cases should be compared to how many infections, hospitalisations and deaths our vaccine has prevented due to Covid-19. Current estimates show that globally the vaccine has helped prevent 50 million Covid-19 cases, five million hospitalisations, and to have saved more than one million lives.

“The EMA and other international bodies including the WHO, have all stated that the benefits of vaccination continue to outweigh any potential risks.”
