Reader’s Links for May 19th, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  3. NOVEMBER 2021 –

US developing lethal, new genetically engineered viruses, including MOUSEPOX and MONKEYPOX… will these be used to demand MORE JABS in the name of “public safety?”

Mousepox is a disease caused by a virus that attacks soft tissues of mice, including an acute form of infection that bears a high mortality rate. The disease is a relative of the smallpox virus and has been carefully researched and analyzed by scientists in Australia, who recognized the virus as being a mouse-specific virus of the mammalian pox viruses. It was never a problem in the United States, until the US government funded a scientist in 2003 to deliberately create a highly lethal form of mousepox called modified mousepox, using genetic modification (GM), also known as genetic engineering.

No antiviral drugs or vaccines work against this deadly GM mousepox. Caused by the human-specific variola virus, mousepox now raises fears that technology enables its use for biowarfare. Will modified mousepox be “accidentally” released into the USA, to add to the Covid chaos? Will a “mousepox mRNA vaccine” follow as a new form of pest control?

Australian research team accidentally creates a virus with 100% kill rate as it wipes out key part of the immune system

Although mousepox does not affect humans, neither did Covid-19 before it was given “gain of function” and genetically modified to specifically target and attack human lung tissue. Modified mousepox could easily be used in biowarfare by the nefarious CCP or the insidious CDC, or both. Closely related to smallpox, modified mousepox is being adapted to be much more deadly just like the China Flu virus.

The researchers in Australia claimed to have “no intention” of producing this lethal virus. It was just about pest control (another name for population control). One of the researchers, who formerly worked on the Soviet germ-warfare program, said it was a good way to show how smallpox could be altered to make it “more virulent.” Sure. The research and virus modification was focused on stimulating antibodies that kill the mouse eggs, making the animals infertile.

The virus was the transporter, a vehicle, for implanting egg “proteins” (think spike proteins in a vaccine) into mice to trigger this antibody response. Get it? They found out that the modified mousepox virus they created completely suppressed the arm of the immune system that combats viral infection. Next they go to work on “cowpox virus,” which does infect a very wide range of animals, including humans.

Australian researcher who discovered how to make mousepox more deadly is supposedly “concerned” about GM monkeypox virus that can now cross species

Will mild infections for humans suddenly become lethal due to rogue scientists in laboratories figuring out how to make animal viruses lethal to humans? Why are they even studying this? They will tell you to prevent biowarfare, but they are creating biowarfare via accidents, theft and other bio-terrorists (CCP and CDC) getting a hold of these new creations.

How to you prevent genetically modified monkeypox? Avoid contact with animals that could harbor it, like dead ones in regions where monkeypox occurs frequently. Also avoid bedding materials where those sick animals might be kept. Monkeypox causes serious skin lesions that leave scars, and it has a high fatality rate of killing 1 in every 6 victims.

Monkeypox is a viral zoonotic disease common in tropical rainforests, but it gets transported to other regions of the world through animals and people (via rodents and primates). Human-to-human transmission does happen through respiratory droplets and other body fluids. Sound familiar? About one in ten people die who catch monkeypox, with most of those deaths happening among youth.

Though a new “third generation” vaccine is now approved for preventing monkeypox (at an 85% success rate) along with smallpox, it is not available to the public sector. Clinically, monkeypox is not as severe as smallpox, but genetic modification can change all of that. Human cases of monkeypox date back to 1970 as reported by a dozen different African countries.

Over the past 4 years, monkeypox has been imported to Israel, the United Kingdom and Singapore by travelers from Nigeria, including a health worker, who did not show symptoms until after arrival.

Get ready for more “gain of function” animal viruses to be “accidentally” released or “stolen” from communist labs around the planet. Then watch for mutant “vaccines” also that are supposed to keep you from getting such a “bad case” of GM-2022-mousepox and monkeypox. For the best in truth news on your internet dial tune to Pandemic.news because it doesn’t take a scientist or doctor to see that Covid vaccines, Remdesivir, masks, ventilators and bad CDC advice have created a pandemic of their own.

Creating the GERM team is one of the most important things we can do to prevent the next pandemic.

[…]The GERM team would be made up of people from all over the world who have a wide range of expertise: epidemiology, genetics, data systems, diplomacy, rapid response, logistics, computer modeling, communications, and more.

When they aren’t actively working in the field, most of them would call individual countries’ public health agencies home base, though some would sit in the WHO’s regional offices and at its headquarters in Geneva.

[…]Here’s how a GERM response would work: The team’s disease monitoring experts would look for potential outbreaks.

Once it spots one, GERM should have the ability to declare an outbreak and work with national governments and the World Bank to raise money for the response very quickly.

Product-development experts would advise governments and companies on the highest-priority drugs and vaccines.

People who understand computer modeling would coordinate the work of modelers around the world. And the team would help create and coordinate responses, such as how and when to implement border closures and recommend mask use.

Well, you can have fewer meat markets with the variety of species that create spillover risks. So, you can reduce that somewhat. But until population growth begins to slow, the overlap between humans and natural ecosystems is going up. And particularly as, due to climate change, animals seek cooler habitats, there’s a collision. We don’t have any tools to zero out the risk of zoonotic disease at this point. Russia’s defense ministry has now revised the numbers of Ukrainian fighters to have emerged from the besieged Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol upward to more than 1,700 soldiers that have left the plant. A new Reuters headline has stressed that there’s ongoing “silence from Kyiv” as the surrender is on a much larger than expected scale:

Moscow said on Thursday that 1,730 Ukrainian fighters had surrendered in Mariupol over three days, including 771 in the past 24 hours, claiming a surrender on a far bigger scale than Kyiv has acknowledged since ordering its garrison to stand down.

[…]Meanwhile, a report from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) suggests that indeed the number of fighters which were hold up at the plant for months is likely significantly higher that what was known. The Red Cross has thus far registered “hundreds”…

On Tuesday the ICRC started “to register combatants leaving the Azovstal plant, including the wounded, at the request of the parties,” it said in a statement from its headquarters in Geneva.

“The operation continued Wednesday and was still ongoing Thursday,” it added.

It was previously reported that the wounded are being transported by the Russian military to one of its administered hospitals in the Donbas, some 40km away.

    • Exclusive-U.S. Aims to Arm Ukraine With Advanced Anti-Ship Missiles to Fight Russian Blockade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The White House is working to put advanced anti-ship missiles in the hands of Ukrainian fighters to help defeat Russia’s naval blockade, officials said, amid concerns more powerful weapons that could sink Russian warships would intensify the conflict.

Ukraine has made no secret it wants more advanced U.S. capabilities beyond its current inventory of artillery, Javelin and Stinger missiles, and other arms. Kyiv’s list, for example, includes missiles that could push the Russian navy away from its Black Sea ports, allowing the restart of shipments of grain and other agricultural products worldwide.

Current and former U.S. officials and congressional sources have cited roadblocks to sending longer range, more powerful weapons to Ukraine that include lengthy training requirements, difficulties maintaining equipment, or concerns U.S. weaponry could be captured by Russian forces, in addition to the fear of escalation.

But three U.S. officials and two congressional sources said two types of powerful anti-ship missiles, the Harpoon made by Boeing and the Naval Strike Missile made by Kongsberg and Raytheon Technologies were in active consideration for either direct shipment to Ukraine, or through a transfer from a European ally that has the missiles.

In April, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy appealed to Portugal to provide the Ukrainian military with Harpoons, which have a range of up to almost 300 km.

But there are several issues keeping Ukraine from receiving the missiles. For one, there is limited availability of platforms to launch Harpoons from shore — a technically challenging solution according to several officials — as it is mostly a sea-based missile.

Two U.S. officials said the United States was working on potential solutions that included pulling a launcher off of a U.S. ship.

About 20 Russian Navy vessels, including submarines, are in the Black Sea operational zone, the British defense ministry has said.

Bryan Clark, a naval expert at the Hudson Institute, said 12 to 24 anti-ship missiles like the Harpoon with ranges over 100 km would be enough to threaten Russian ships and could convince Moscow to lift the blockade. “If Putin persists, Ukraine could take out the largest Russian ships, since they have nowhere to hide in the Black Sea,” Clark said.

Russia has already suffered losses at sea, notably the sinking of the cruiser Moskva, the flagship of its Black Sea fleet.

      WHO GOES FIRST?

A handful of countries would be willing to send Harpoons to Ukraine, the U.S. officials and the congressional sources said. But no one wants to be the first or only nation to do so, fearing reprisals from Russia if a ship is sunk with a Harpoon from their stockpile, the third U.S official said.

That U.S. official said one country is considering being the first to supply the missile to Ukraine. Once that “well stocked” nation commits to sending Harpoons, others might follow, the official said.

The Naval Strike Missile (NSM) can be launched from the Ukrainian coast and has a range of 250 km. It also takes less than 14 days training to operate.

The sources said NSMs were viewed as less logistically difficult than Harpoons, because NATO allies could loan mobile ground launchers which are available, and warheads from Norway.

The first two U.S. officials and the congressional sources said the United States was trying to work out a way for Ukraine to obtain NSM and launchers from European allies.

The congressional sources said another option would be for Norway to donate NSMs to Ukraine, an idea supported by Norwegian members of parliament https://mil.in.ua/en/news/norwegian-parliament-is-proposing-to-transfer-the-nasams-air-defense-and-nsm-strike-missiles-to-ukraine. The Norwegian Ministry of Defense declined to comment on what additional contributions of arms and defense equipment it may consider offering to Ukraine.

All weapons requests that have U.S. content such as Harpoons and NSMs would have to be approved by the U.S. State Department, which takes guidance from the White House.

Another weapon high on Ukraine’s shopping list are Multiple Rocket Launch Systems (MLRS) such as the M270 made by Lockheed Martin which can strike a target 70 or more kilometers away, a three-fold increase over many of their current howitzer rounds.

In recent weeks, the Biden administration decided instead to send M777 towed howitzers which could be deployed faster and shipped in larger quantities, the two U.S. officials said.

The two U.S. officials said the M270 or similar system like the M142 HIMARS would be considered for shipment to Ukraine once Congress passed a $40 billion supplemental funding bill that would authorize an additional $11 billion worth of Presidential Drawdown Authority. That lets the president authorize the transfer of excess weapons from U.S. stocks without congressional approval in response to an emergency.

    • Senate approves $40B Ukraine aid, sends bill to Biden

The Senate overwhelmingly approved a $40 billion infusion of military and economic aid for Ukraine and its allies on Thursday as both parties rallied behind America’s latest, and quite possibly not last, financial salvo against Russia’s invasion.

The 86-11 vote gave final congressional approval to the package, three weeks after President Joe Biden requested a smaller $33 billion version and after a lone Republican opponent delayed Senate passage for a week. Every Democrat and all but 11 Republicans — many of them supporters of former President Donald Trump’s isolationist agenda — backed the measure.

Biden’s quick signature was certain as Russia’s attack, which has mauled Ukraine’s forces and cities, slogs into a fourth month with no obvious end ahead. That means more casualties and destruction in Ukraine, which has relied heavily on U.S. and Western assistance for its survival, especially advanced arms, with requests for more aid potentially looming.

“Help is on the way, really significant help. Help that could make sure that the Ukrainians are victorious,” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., underscoring a goal by Ukraine and its allies that seemed nearly unthinkable when Russia launched its brutal assault three months ago.

The vote was a glaring exception to the partisan divisions that have hindered work on other issues under Biden and that promise to become only less bridgeable as November’s elections for control of Congress draw closer. That includes Republicans blocking Democrats from including billions to combat the relentless pandemic in the measure, leaving their efforts to battle COVID-19 in limbo.

Last week the House approved the Ukraine bill 368-57, with all of those opposed Republicans. Though support in both chambers was unmistakably bipartisan, the GOP defections were noteworthy after Trump, still a potent force in the party, complained that such sums should first be targeted at domestic problems.

Schumer called it “beyond troubling” that Republicans were opposing the Ukraine assistance. “It appears more and more that MAGA Republicans are on the same soft-on-Putin playbook that we saw used by former President Trump,” said Schumer, using the Make America Great Again acronym Democrats have been using to cast those Republicans as extremists.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., a strong backer of the measure, addressed concerns by his GOP colleagues. He said Ukraine’s defeat would jeopardize America’s European trading partners, increase U.S. security costs there and embolden autocrats in China and elsewhere to grab territory in their regions.

“The most expensive and painful thing America could possibly do in the long run would be to stop investing in sovereignty, stability and deterrence before it’s too late,” McConnell said.

On Wednesday, Schumer said he was not confident this would be the final measure to help Ukraine. “They’re doing the fighting, they’re the ones getting killed, they’re the ones struggling and suffering. The least we can do is give them the weaponry they need,” he said.

Speculation over whether Biden will run again heats up

The legislation contains around $24 billion for weapons, equipment and military financing for Ukraine, restoring Pentagon stocks of arms sent to the region and paying for U.S. reinforcements sent there. The rest includes economic aid to keep Zelensky’s government functioning, food programs for countries that rely on Ukraine’s diminished crop production, refugee assistance and funds for Kiev to investigate Russian war crimes.

Congress approved an initial $13.6 billion measure in March. The combined price tag of nearly $54 billion exceeds what the U.S. spent on all its foreign and military aid in 2019, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who’s long had non-interventionist views, used procedural tactics last week to thwart Schumer and McConnell from moving the measure through the Senate then, citing Ukraine’s urgent need for the assistance.

In a personal criticism seen seldom on the Senate floor, Schumer on Wednesday called Paul’s move “repugnant” and said the delay, with passage inevitable, would “strengthen Putin’s hand.” McConnell, who last Saturday met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a surprise visit to Kyiv, did not speak up in his fellow Kentucky Republican’s defense.

In a brief interview, Paul responded that it would be “repugnant” to disparage “the democratic process” as embodied in Senate rules that he was using.

That spending concerned some Trump-friendly Republicans in Congress on Wednesday.

“It’s, you know, the world’s going to end if you don’t do anything here,” Sen. Mike Braun, R-Ind., who said he would oppose the Ukraine measure. “I’m more worried about the trust fund going broke” that finances Medicare and another that pays for Social Security.

Braun said he’s long pushed for bills that pay for themselves. Asked why saving $40 billion in this instance outweighed stopping Russia, he said, “Number one, it’s going to pass.”

Another conservative, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said that as costly as the measure is, the aid will protect U.S. national security and said, “If Putin wins, the consequences for America and American taxpayers will be hundreds of billions of dollars.”

Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, a moderate who has clashed with Trump, said in an interview that helping Ukraine defend itself ”is about as smart an investment as we could possibly make.” He added, “What does America First mean? It means that we should first be concerned about the interests of America. I totally agree.”

Ukraine: MEPs want a special international tribunal for crimes of aggression

Perpetrators of war crimes must be brought to justice
Support for Ukrainian authorities and International Criminal Court in gathering evidence
Swift action is of crucial importance

The special international tribunal should investigate Russian leaders and military commanders and their allies for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

In the resolution adopted on Thursday, Parliament calls on the EU to take all necessary action in international proceedings and courts to support the prosecution of the Russian and Belarussian regimes for war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and aggression. These investigations and consequent prosecutions should also apply to all Russian armed forces personnel and government officials involved in war crimes, MEPs ask.

The resolution on the fight against impunity for war crimes in Ukraine was adopted by show of hands.

      A special international tribunal

The adopted text asks the EU to support setting up a special international tribunal to punish the crime of aggression committed against Ukraine, for which the International Criminal Court (ICC) has no jurisdiction, and hold Russian political leaders and military commanders and those of its allies to account.

MEPs also want the EU to provide, as soon as possible, all the necessary human and budgetary resources and administrative, investigative and logistical support needed to establish this tribunal.

According to the EP, reported atrocities such as indiscriminate shelling of cities and towns, forced deportations, use of banned ammunition, attacks against civilians fleeing via pre-agreed humanitarian corridors, executions and sexual violence amount to violations of international humanitarian law. They may qualify as war crimes, say MEPs, stressing that all of them have so far gone unprosecuted.

      Act swiftly

MEPs stress that the EU must take action swiftly, since there is a grave risk that, due to the ongoing hostilities, evidence related to war crimes is being destroyed.

They express their full support for the investigation by the ICC Prosecutor and the work of the Commission of Inquiry of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights as well as independent civil society organisations and Ukrainian authorities working to collect evidence.

MEPs welcome the joint investigative team being set up by Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine, which is coordinated by the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation Eurojust, and in which the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC will participate, and encourage other member states to join this team.

I’m Patrick Lancaster and in this report, we’re in Mariupol at the location where the Azov and Ukrainian military members have been surrendering in mass.

Let’s talk about the facts. 3 days ago there were well over 2000 Azov and Ukrainian soldiers in the last stand, the last position of the Ukrainian military in Mariupol, the Azov Azovstal Plant.

3 days ago there was a temporary ceasefire called to allow the Azov Ukrainian military to surrender. Let’s talk about what the word is surrender: to stop resisting an enemy and submit to their authority and that is what 1700 Azov battalion members and Ukrainian military members have done. They have walked out of this plant and submitted to the authority of the Republic people’s republic and Russian forces. Yes there was a small amount that was injured and one could say can a person that is totally incapacitated surrender? Maybe those handfuls of injured Azov battalion Ukrainian military that was totally incapacitated and injured one could say they might have been evacuated(by definition) by the Donetsk People’s Republic and Russian forces but certainly not the Ukrainian authorities.

So the fact that Kiev keeps trying to push the fact that they’ve done all this to help the Azov and Ukrainian military evacuate the Azov plant here in Mariupol is a total lie and misinformation created to just mislead the world.
