Reader’s Links for April 17th, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Death is the cradle of life. Common knowledge? Not quite.. Private, public and common knowledge. It’s the great game.

In communist Hungary private knowledge whispered, at best, at the kitchen table about tyranny. Public knowledge of tyranny existed, at best, in anonymous graffiti protesting on the walls of bridges. This graffiti represented pods of enlightened groups, but who remained disconnected from eachother because of the censorship of the State. Such graffiti was immediately scrubbed.

Two-plus two equals five. This is common knowledge that is, extraordinarily, becoming less commonly known.

The criminal malfeasceance of the stewards of our economies since 1971. Hardly even private knowledge.

    The common knowledge game:

  2. Happy Easter.

A man was maimed and murdered for speaking up about what they saw: “The Emperor has no clothes.”

    And that man, relived.

Every child is helpless to being bullied into joining a collective identity of pride; be it Race, Religion, Culture, Appetite or Deed.

To announce that they will no longer be a slave that is constantly condemning other people as inferior, no matter how may Pride Celebrations offered to them, or Diversity-gang leadership roles handed out freely to them; they will not submit.

“And he lifted up his eyes upon the disciples and said,
Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
Blessed are you when men hate you and thrust you out of their company, and rail, and abhor your name as an evil thing, for the Son of man’s sake.

Rejoice then, and be glad, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. Likewise did their fathers treat the prophets.”

    • Luke 24 5-7 Hallelujah! He has Risen!

But on Sunday at dawn they went to the tomb……and found the stone rolled away, and they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

While they stood there perplexed, two men stood by in dazzling apparel…
and they said to them “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen”.

    • When I was a little girl, Easter meant wearing a new dress, dying eggs a reddish color (I guess for the blood that was shed for our sins), going to church and listening to chanting that I barely could understand, visiting with crazy family, eating a lamb … and dreading if the men were going to have too much to drink (which didn’t happen often, but boy when it did!).

As an 18 year old “born again Christian”, I knew these were all symbols, shadows of the “real”thing: a new dress, the eggs symbolizing birth and new life, the innocent “lamb” that was slaughtered, because I was bad and I acknowledged it, showing forbearance and “love” to all the crazy people, etc. I didn’t like that someone had to die, but … there is a high price to pay to truly Live. I never understood the whole killing Jesus part. The church I was in emphasized that Jesus had to die for our sins so we could die to “self”, the “self” had to die so that the new Life that was within (Jesus’ spirit, the “Holy Spirit”) could express itself. I never understood that, because self was all I had. But everything is semantics and what we extract from the mere words to try to find the deeper significance to them. Thanks to Roy Masters, I came to understand it was the “ego” self, you don’t “obliterate” who you are (whatever I was thinking that meant in my teenage mind) … I used to get so mad at him sometimes, but he opened up my mind and my heart. He really imparted Spirit, in spite of the words he may or may not have used.

I listened to Jordan Peterson talk about Easter … such an intense guy. I learned and am learning a lot about psychology and symbolism from him, and learning to understand myself and others from a different angle.

What does Easter mean to me? This might sound a bit shallow, but I got sucked into watching “Blackstone”, it’s a Canadian series about a native reserve and the corrupt chief, alcoholism, rape, etc. I’m not recommending it, but throughout the series there was an old man who always had “deep” things to say, and at the end of the series, his last words were “We all … every single one of us, failed, and we have all, by the mere fact that we’re here, have been given another chance to persevere and find peace in our lives. We’re blessed, all of us, we’re blessed to be alive.” For some reason that stuck with me and I guess that sums up what Easter sort of means to me. The bible is really into old things passing away and behold, all things are new. Biological life, psychological life, life on this earth is our brutal reality, nobody is unscathed. But …we have an opportunity every day, even every moment, to learn, to become new, to have an aha experience, to change for the better, to be content, to make peace, even be joyful. I guess Easter is every morning I wake up and look forward to a new day.

      • OLIVE: when I was a little girl, we needed a hat to go to church, and always at Easter, the tradition was to buy a new hat. What a problem that was for my beloved mom! We started three months ahead of time looking for a hat that would fit me. At 8-years old, my head was too small.

    • Hope. Hope that the higher-ups are dissatisfied with humanity and will intervene to steer it back onto the right path. But first, we must suffer in order to learn from our mistakes. And our suffering is only beginning. But there is hope that all will be well, eventually.
