Reader’s Links for April 16th, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Resentment makes people stupid.

    1. Critical faculties disengaged.

White Racism promoted as coming from The Evil Patriarchy by white Feminists and their skirt-chasing cuckolds, will be turned back on them as “White Wokeness.” Socialists always dig out their own graves.

    2. Their brains are slowed as they ‘good-fact and bad-fact’ check their own permitted parameters. To prevent their inadvertent Hate Speech becoming public knowledge and being Cancelled to get employment and services. . Guilt reigns supreme, because they know they have unforgiven sins. Their personas are fake.

This makes every innocent child, their enemy; and every corrupted child, their friend. Recruiting Liars in solidarity.

John the Baptist taught people to be “fishers of men.” To
help people to their repentance for playing God.. As they forgive, so they are forgiven.

Others simply worship one of John’s students saying he did it all for them so they don’t have to. When Jesus repeated John’s attitude in preparedness before prayer, these Superstar Followers made it into a Magical Mantra.

Living to avoid a curse and to receive a blessing. Sub-angels paying a retainer for their rank.

  2. What’s going on in China? They are locking Shanghai down into oblivion. Rumors of people starving in their apartments, suicides, a world of apparent misery while CCP officials say there is nothing they can do. Why do they say this? Two years and counting, so much scientific research and resources, presumably, having studied this thing, and there’s still nothing they can do? Even family pets are off-ing themselves by running really fast headlong into shovels held by government workers. Talk about depressed. Most of us have seen some videos, for whatever they’re worth. Crazytown. And is that death by shovel or death with shovel?

They blame their virus, Omicron, or whatever it is being called this week. Not to be cavalier about it, but too many things don’t add up.

If most people are vaccinated then why so much freaking out and why so many cases? The vaccines work, right? If it is Omicron, which is mild (Dystopian government doctors, the ultimate experts in the whole galaxy, told us to assume you’ve got it if you sneeze twice and fart once, so I’ve had it) then should its successor not be more contagious yet milder still? Why are they still using faulty tests to pump up numbers? What’s the deal with so many asymptomatic cases? Does such a thing exist and is it a threat? (I can’t believe I still have to ask this question.) Why is government (and it is government by accounts) panicking and chasing “zero covid” when such a thing cannot exist? They purportedly kill family pets in an attempt to eliminate the animal reservoir aspect, but do they seriously believe they will succeed when science has learned such goals are futile? Does it make sense to blame the CCP for all of this while its own economy is tanking from the self-imposed lockdowns? Even though authorities claim they are fighting Covid, is this even true? Is there some other disease they don’t want to admit to?

All in the fullness of time, grasshopper.

  3. Police are looking for a woman who pepper-sprayed a man who was taking photos of his own children in Arlington, Virginia, authorities said.

The woman reported the man to a security officer Tuesday afternoon in the 1100 block of S. Hayes Street, which is the block where Pentagon City Mall is located, Arlington police said.

She believed the man didn’t know the children, police said.

The security guard communicated with the man and learned he was photographing his own children, police said.

The woman then used pepper spray on the man and ran away, police said.

The man was treated by medics on the scene.

Police are trying to figure out the woman’s identity and say she’s wanted for allegedly causing malicious injury by a caustic agent.

Note: men are no longer allowed to take pictures of their own children in public. Great….

  7. the guardian – How Zelenskiy’s team of TV writers helps his victory message hit home

Influences from Churchill to Tolkien are woven in to the Ukrainian president’s compelling video addresses

[…]The writer of them is a 38-year-old former journalist and political analyst with fewer than 200 followers on Twitter. In an interview conducted via WhatsApp, Dmytro Lytvyn told the Observer the ideas behind the speeches were Zelenskiy’s: “The president always knows what he wants to say, and how he wants to say it.”

He added: “In the speeches, emotions are most important. And of course the president is author of emotions and the logic of the words.” Other world leaders “might learn how to do it”. In other words they might emulate Zelenskiy’s punchy combination of frankness and emotional power.

Lytvyn is part of the president’s inner team. He and his colleagues have been living and working at Bankova – Ukraine’s equivalent of the White House or Downing Street – since the first days of the invasion. A one-time columnist with the Levyy Bereg weekly news magazine, named after the left bank of the Dnipro River, Lytvyn was reluctant to say more. “I don’t usually comment on this topic,” he said.

Serhiy Leshchenko, another former journalist turned wartime Zelenskiy adviser, described Lytvyn as a literary and artistic assistant: “He collects the president’s ideas each day. He works as a mind or sense collector.” One day the theme might be the barbarism of Russian soldiers, the next Ukraine’s urgent need for defensive weapons.

Lytvyn has been in the thick of Ukrainian politics for sometime. He was a political analyst for Servant of the People, Zelenskiy’s political party, and a bitter opponent of Petro Poroshenko, Zelenskiy’s predecessor as president. One former colleague said Lytvyn’s attacks on the country’s post-2014 leadership after the pro-European Maidan uprising had split Ukrainian society. “I’m not a fan. But he’s smart,” the colleague added.

[…]Orysia Lutsevych, manager of the Ukraine forum at foreign policy thinktank Chatham House, said Zelenskiy’s previous career as an actor and comedian was key to his success. Viewers were used to seeing him in different roles on television and were therefore able to accept him as “commander-in-chief in a T-shirt” – a feat that eludes more conventional politicians.

“They know he can transform. He’s like metamorphosis Zelenskiy,” she said. “He’s a modern-day statesman who came from entertainment. He’s in his element.

[…]Lutsevych said Zelenskiy and his co-writers had created a sense of “historical mission”, which linked Ukraine’s current struggle with previous battles against Moscow. They were also well versed in pop culture, presenting the war as “light versus darkness”. In this Lord of the Rings-style drama, Russian soldiers were “orcs” and Putin an invisible Sauron.

Many of Zelenskiy’s senior advisers come from television, and worked with him at Kvartal-95, his production studio. Their attempts to win global support are helped by the clear-cut nature of Russia’s invasion. Ukraine is the victim. It is fighting for survival. This makes Zelenskiy the leader of what political scientist Ivan Krastev calls a “romantic constellation”.
