Reader’s links for April 2,2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. When the smartest man in the room speaks you have to listen. Here is an outline of the new world money order in the shorter term. It comes down to stuff–commodities–rearranging the planet’s furniture instead of fiat.

The four pillars of commodity governance combined with the four pillars of money governance are quickly overtaking the business of how we do business. We are facing a rocky road replete with inflation, interest rate undulations, supply issues, delivery timeline issues, geopolitical realignments, all in an environment where paper money plays and pays second fiddle to paper money.

This will impact all markets everywhere. So now, as this oracle of monetary intestines says, it boils down to my stuff, your problem.

Typical to analysts, he gives analysis not politics:

  2. Russia demanded payment for commodities in rubles while simultaneously pegging the ruble at 5000/gram of gold for one month. This action accommodates for expected Western fiat depreciation. It also supports the value of the currency, and places it in the shadow of direct gold settlement. Rafi Farber:

    • the gateway pundit –Creepy Bill Gates Threw Millions at New Technology of Under-Skin Nanoparticle QR Code, to be Scanned by Smartphones

Last year it was revealed that Pentagon scientists working in a secretive united created a microchip to be inserted underneath the skin, that can detect Covid-19 before the body exhibits symptoms.

60 Minutes interviewed retired Colonel Matt Hepburn, an army infectious disease physician, who spent years with the secretive defense advanced research projects agency or DARPA, working on technology he hopes will ensure COVID-19 is the last pandemic.

“Dr. Hepburn showed us a few current projects, some sound like they’re from an episode of “Star Trek.” Consider a ship like the USS Theodore Roosevelt — hobbled last year when 1,271 crew members tested positive for the coronavirus. What if everyone on board had their health monitored with this subdermal implant, now in late-stage testing. It’s not some dreaded government microchip to track your every move, but a tissue-like gel engineered to continuously test your blood,” 60 Minutes host Bill Whitaker said.

Dr. Hepburn told 60 Minutes that the microchip is like a “check engine light.

The segment aired on “60 Minutes.”

      VIDEO

In Sweden they took this a step further. Over the last few years some Swedish workers have volunteered to have microchips implanted in their hands so they no longer have to carry cash, ID, keys, gym passes etc.

This research into quantum dot tattoo—an under-skin nanoparticle QR code, to be scanned by smartphones — did not go unnoticed.

Creepy Bill Gates heard about this new technology and immediately threw millions of dollars at the project. This should surprise no one.

Joe Allen at Joebot( . )xyz reported:

We’re living out a sci-fi thriller where unaccountable corporations openly force advanced tech into our bodies. Capitalizing on the current germaphobic frenzy, Moderna’s co-founder, Dr. Robert Langer, saw his experimental mRNA vaccines pushed on the American public. Riding that dark wave of corporate and government mandates, Langer became an instant billionaire. But this isn’t the only fanged rabbit in his magic top hat.

In 2018, the MIT scientist had developed a quantum dot tattoo—an under-skin nanoparticle QR code, to be scanned by smartphones—in order to track the vaccinated masses and ensure compliance. Like many undignified experiments, this was to begin in the Third World—cuz social justice.

This vaxx & track technology drew the intense personal interest of Bill Gates. That interest naturally translated into millions of dollars in funding. This is in addition to $20 million given to Moderna by the Gates Foundation back in 2016 to develop a new type of vaccine—where bits of injected genetic code would hijack the cell’s machinery to produce reams of pathogenic proteins.

At one time, not sol long ago, the media used to call these reports on Bill Gates and digital certificates a conspiracy.

It looks like they were wrong again.

    • Scattano le multe per i no vax over 50: ecco cosa succede

    • 85% of Greeks do not pay the fines imposed

Of the more than 300,000 Greeks who have been fined by the Greek tax authority for not being vaccinated in violation of the mandatory order, only 14% actually paid their fines before the deadline.

A total of 317,962 Greeks over the age of 60 were notified by the Greek tax agency to pay the €50 fine for the month of January when the government implemented its vaccination mandate for all residents over 60 years old.

According to the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), however, only 44,000 people have actually paid the fine by the March 15 deadline, just 14% of the total, and those with unpaid fines could face additional penalties, according to the newspaper. Ekathimerini reports.

The €50 fine for January was followed by a €100 fine in February as the mandate did not come into force until mid-January and so the government reduced the amount of the fine Consequently.

Those who refuse to pay the fine could face possible seizure of assets, according to the newspaper, while others have tried to challenge the legality of the warrants and the fines associated with them in Greek courts.

Last week, the Greek government announced it would suspend the vaccination mandate for people over the age of 60 in mid-April, but noted that anyone with unpaid fines for not being vaccinated should always pay them.

The government has not ruled out re-implementing the mandates, however, saying it will review the policy in September, according to Health Minister Thanos Plevris, who also said a committee of experts was advising the government to lift more coronavirus restrictions.

Greece is one of the few European countries to have issued vaccination mandates for people over a certain age, like Italy where the vaccination mandate for people over 50 is expected to remain in effect until in mid-June, while other measures and restrictions are expected to be removed by the end of May.

  4. BBC – Covid vaccines now available for five to 11-year olds in England

Parents and carers of five to 11-year olds in England can now book a low-dose Covid vaccine for their children.

The jabs – already widely used in other countries – can be booked online and will be available from hundreds of sites from Monday.

It comes as officials estimate that a record 4.9 million people in the UK have the virus – up from 4.3 million the week before.

The figures were released as free tests ended for most people in England.

The UK’s vaccine advisers said the jabs would help “future-proof children’s defences” against infections.

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland already offer the jabs.

In general, most children are not at high risk of becoming severely ill from Covid.

In February, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation said vaccines should go ahead to prevent “a very small number of children from serious illness and hospitalisation” in a future wave of Covid.

It recommends two doses of the low-dose vaccine, 12 weeks apart, with some five million children now eligible.

The vaccine contains a third of the adult dose.

Dr Nikki Kanani, GP and deputy lead for the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme, said vaccines remained the best defence against the virus.

She added: “My 13-year-old son has had his two vaccinations, and I’ll be booking my 10-year-old daughter in for hers at the earliest opportunity, and would encourage all parents to read the NHS information available and consider doing the same.”

Meanwhile, Health Secretary Sajid Javid said: “Children without underlying health conditions are at low risk of serious illness from Covid, and the priority remains for the NHS to offer vaccines and spring boosters to adults and vulnerable young people, as well as to catch up with other childhood immunisation programmes.”

Most appointments will be available at local vaccination centres and community pharmacies. Options for walk-in jabs will also be on offer.

Parents and guardians of eligible children will be sent invitations from the NHS in the next few weeks.

Young children who have conditions that put them at increased risk from Covid, or who live with people with weakened immune systems, have already been offered jabs.

The wider rollout of jabs for children comes after latest estimates from the Office for National Statistics suggest that about one in every 13 people in the UK has coronavirus, with cases reaching nearly 5 million.

The figures for the week ending 26 March are thought to give the most accurate reflection of what is happening with the virus in the community.

The surge is partly driven by the contagious Omicron BA.2 sub-variant and people mixing more.

Jim McManus, president of the Association of Directors of Public Health, said the surge in numbers was causing disruption for businesses, workplaces, in schools and in the NHS, with staff going off sick.

People can help curb the rise by ventilating areas and wearing masks in crowded spaces, he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

“It is only the actions that we take that will keep this virus low and enable the NHS and businesses to do business as usual,” he said.

“If we want to be optimistic, we have to do some work to get there.”

Meanwhile, the government’s “living with Covid” plan means free testing will only continue for certain groups – including some people with weakened immune systems, people admitted to hospital and health and care staff.

Government minister Brandon Lewis told Today there would be a point where support packages introduced during the pandemic would taper off and end, as the country learned to live with Covid.

BBC – Should we be recycling Covid tests?

The UK government advice is to throw lateral flow tests into the bin after use but with millions of people using the tests that creates a lot of plastic waste.

The UK government say that they work with manufacturers to make tests more sustainable while making sure they stay safe, effective and don’t create any biohazard issues.

But some parts of the test can be recycled and one company is recycling the tests to make benches, dog kennels and plant pots.

  5. BORIS JOHNSON – GLOBAL POPULATION CONTROL

    OCTOBER 25, 2007

Global over-population is the real issue

It is a tragic measure of how far the world has changed – and the infinite capacity of modern man for taking offence – that there are no two subjects that can get you more swiftly into political trouble than motherhood and apple pie.

The last time I tentatively suggested that there was something to be said in favour of apple pie, I caused a frenzy of hatred in the healthy-eating lobby. It reached such a pitch that journalists were actually pelting me with pies, and demanding a retraction, and an apology, and a formal denunciation of the role of apple pie in causing obesity.

As for motherhood – the fertility of the human race – we are getting to the point where you simply can’t discuss it, and we are thereby refusing to say anything sensible about the biggest single challenge facing the Earth; and no, whatever it may now be conventional to say, that single biggest challenge is not global warming. That is a secondary challenge. The primary challenge facing our species is the reproduction of our species itself.

Depending on how fast you read, the population of the planet is growing with every word that skitters beneath your eyeball. There are more than 211,000 people being added every day, and a population the size of Germany every year.

As someone who has now been travelling around the world for decades, I see this change, and I feel it. You can smell it in the traffic jams of the Middle East. You can see it as you fly over Africa at night, and you see mile after mile of fires burning red in the dark, as the scrub is removed to make way for human beings.

You can see it in the satellite pictures of nocturnal Europe, with the whole place lit up like a fairground. You can see it in the crazy dentition of the Shanghai skyline, where new skyscrapers are going up round the clock.

You can see it as you fly over Mexico City, a vast checkerboard of smog-bound, low-rise dwellings stretching from one horizon to the other; and when you look down on what we are doing to the planet, you have a horrifying vision of habitations multiplying and replicating like bacilli in a Petri dish.

The world’s population is now 6.7 billion, roughly double what it was when I was born. If I live to be in my mid-eighties, then it will have trebled in my lifetime.

The UN last year revised its forecasts upwards, predicting that there will be 9.2 billion people by 2050, and I simply cannot understand why no one discusses this impending calamity, and why no world statesmen have the guts to treat the issue with the seriousness it deserves.

How the hell can we witter on about tackling global warming, and reducing consumption, when we are continuing to add so relentlessly to the number of consumers? The answer is politics, and political cowardice.

There was a time, in the 1960s and 1970s, when people such as my father, Stanley, were becoming interested in demography, and the UN would hold giant conferences on the subject, and it was perfectly respectable to talk about saving the planet by reducing the growth in the number of human beings.

But over the years, the argument changed, and certain words became taboo, and certain concepts became forbidden, and we have reached the stage where the very discussion of overall human fertility – global motherhood – has become more or less banned.

We seem to have given up on population control, and all sorts of explanations are offered for the surrender. Some say Indira Gandhi gave it all a bad name, by her demented plan to sterilise Indian men with the lure of a transistor radio.

Some attribute our complacency to the Green Revolution, which seemed to prove Malthus wrong. It became the received wisdom that the world’s population could rise to umpteen billions, as mankind learnt to make several ears of corn grow where one had grown before.

And then, in recent years, the idea of global population control has been more or less stifled by a pincer movement from the Right and the Left. American Right-wingers disapprove of anything that sounds like birth control, and so George W. Bush withholds the tiny contribution America makes to the UN Fund for Population Activities, regardless of the impact on the health of women in developing countries.

As for the Left, they dislike suggestions of population control because they seem to smack of colonialism and imperialism and telling the Third World what to do; and so we have reached the absurd position in which humanity bleats about the destruction of the environment, and yet there is not a peep in any communiqué from any summit of the EU, G8 or UN about the population growth that is causing that destruction.

The debate is surely now unavoidable. Look at food prices, driven ever higher by population growth in India and China. Look at the insatiable Chinese desire for meat, which has pushed the cost of feed so high that Vladimir Putin has been obliged to institute price controls in the doomed fashion of Diocletian or Edward Heath.

Even in Britain, chicken farmers are finding that the cost of chickenfeed is no longer exactly chickenfeed, and, though the food crisis may once again be solved by the wit of man, the damage to the environment may be irreversible.

It is time we had a grown-up discussion about the optimum quantity of human beings in this country and on this planet. Do we want the south-east of Britain, already the most densely populated major country in Europe, to resemble a giant suburbia?

This is not, repeat not, an argument about immigration per se, since in a sense it does not matter where people come from, and with their skill and their industry, immigrants add hugely to the economy.

This is a straightforward question of population, and the eventual size of the human race.

All the evidence shows that we can help reduce population growth, and world poverty, by promoting literacy and female emancipation and access to birth control. Isn’t it time politicians stopped being so timid, and started talking about the real number one issue?

  8. reuters – Macron warns against Brexit-like election upset at mass campaign rally

[…]“The danger of extremism has reached new heights because, in recent months and years, hatred, alternative truths have been normalised,” he said. “We have got used to see on TV shows antisemitic and racist authors.”

Although he is still projected to win a second mandate, Macron has lost ground in the polls, a dip that some aides attribute to a manifesto that includes tough, conservative measures such as raising the state pension age to 65.

Others have also criticised a campaign that started late and lacked “magic”

After a rockstar-like entry on to the stage of a 35,000-seat stadium outside Paris, Macron started his two-hour speech with a long list of accomplishments and promises to create jobs in hospitals and nursing homes, in a clear attempt to convince centre-left voters that pollsters say could abstain.

[…]The rally of about 30,000 supporters – almost reaching the venue’s full capacity – was attended by former left-wing and right-wing prime ministers and other party grandees. Yet one supporter asked by Reuters found the speech underwhelming.

Macron holds 1st big rally; Rivals stir up ‘McKinsey Affair’

French President Emmanuel Macron held his first big rally Saturday in his race for reelection, promising the French more “progress” and “solidarity” over the next five years, but his campaign has hit a speed bump.

It’s been dubbed “the McKinsey Affair,” named after an American consulting company hired to advise the French government on its COVID-19 vaccination campaign and other policies. A new French Senate report questions the government’s use of private consultants and accuses McKinsey of tax dodging. The issue is energizing Macron’s rivals and dogging him at campaign stops ahead of France’s April 10 first-round presidential vote.

[…]Speaking to those who see “all their salary go into gasoline, bills, rent” as the war in Ukraine is driving up food and energy prices, Macron promised to let companies give a tax-free bonus to employees of up to 6,000 euros ($6,627) as soon as this summer.

[…]But for those trying to unseat Macron, the word “McKinsey” is becoming a rallying cry.

Critics describe the French government’s 1 billion euros spent on consulting firms like McKinsey last year as privatization and Americanization of French politics and are demanding more transparency.

[…]McKinsey notably advised the French government on its COVID-19 vaccination campaign

[…]A former investment banker once accused of being “president of the rich,” Macron saw his ratings surge when his government spent massively to protect workers and businesses early in the pandemic, vowing to do “whatever it takes” to cushion the blow. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
