All things Russia Vs. Ukraine for March 29, 2022

1. Tucker’s opener is indirectly about it, but is very important. He shows that now several times, Biden’s remote-control has had to step out in front of their actor and correct the record. No small thing.

Early in the 2000s, a documentary was made and aired, of all places on CBC, but well before Comrade Trudeau took control, called “Nuclear Jihad”. I am posting it here to punctuate one of Tucker’s points. In this documentary, at least in the original, and while I haven’t watched this exact one to know if its a faithful reproduction of the original, it shows how Osama Bin Laden obtained a fatwa from a high ranking Islamic jurist, clearly stating that it would be within the rules of Islam for him to obtain and use a nuclear weapon on Western and especially American or Israeli peoples. So it should be known that should Russia decide to deliver such a weapon to a jihadi group, they already have the legal means to detonate it upon us.

Over the course of the day I will try and watch and confirm it contains all the important elements. But even if they removed some of the more Islam-unfriendly ones, the A. Q. Khan story is an important one to know.

2. Germany, which banned the letter Z, is now pulling over older men on motorcycles and questioning them for having Russia related material on their jackets.

3. V4 meeting cancelled over Hungary’s Ukraine policy

**This article has been updated with comments from the Hungarian Ministry of Defence received after publication, confirming the cancellation.

The upcoming Visegrad 4 meeting between respective defence ministers will no longer take place as both Poland and Czechia have pulled out over Budapest’s lukewarm support for action against Moscow, according to preliminary information from the Slovak defence ministry.

The meeting, organised by Hungary was set to take place on 30-31 March, but now it seems it will not take place at all.

Polish Defence Minister Mariusz B?aszczak cancelled his participation in the meeting over Hungary’s rhetoric over the Russian invasion of Ukraine, leading daily “Gazeta Wyborcza” reported citing government sources on Monday.

Czech Defence Minister Jana ?ernochová (ODS, ECR) also cancelled her participation on Friday (25 March) while EU leaders met to discuss the situation in Ukraine last week in Brussels.

March 29, 2022 Updated: March 29, 2022

Russia is cutting down on its military activity near the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, an official said after the latest round of negotiations between the warring countries.

6. So all I know about this one, is that its very religious Chechen Muslims, who give the Islamic State salute at the start of the video (the index finger signalling the oneness of Allah) who according to wikipedia fight for Russia, presumably in this instance, in Ukraine.

The special military operation in Ukraine will continue until the set goals are achieved: Russian Defense Minister Shoigu

PRESS TV – Russia calls ‘liberation’ of Donbass main goal of operation in Ukraine

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu says Moscow has completed the main objectives of the first phase of the special military operation in Ukraine and that the army will be focusing on the “liberation” of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, collectively known as the Donbass.

Shoigu said in a meeting at the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday that Moscow can now focus on its key objective since the main tasks of the first phase of the war have been completed and Russian forces have “significantly reduced” the Ukrainian military’s combat power.

“In general, the main tasks of the first stage of the operation have been completed, which allows us to focus our main efforts on achieving the main goal – the liberation of [the] Donbass,” he said.

The Russian defense minister added that, “The combat potential of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was significantly reduced, the Air Force and Air Defense of Ukraine were practically destroyed, and its Navy ceased to exist” following the start of the military campaign.

Shoigu stressed that the “military operation” will continue until all the goals set are achieved.

During the meeting on Tuesday, the Russian defense minister also condemned the West’s decision to supply lethal weapons to Ukraine, calling the move “reckless.” Shoigu said Kiev is “mindlessly” handing out those weapons to the local population and mercenaries, adding that the move might create threats to the Europeans themselves in the future.

The top Russian official warned that Moscow would respond “adequately” if the NATO military alliance supplied Ukraine with planes and air defense systems, without elaborating.

In a televised speech on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in Ukraine following Moscow’s recognition of Lugansk and Donetsk “republics.”

The conflict has provoked a unanimous response from Western countries, which have imposed a long list of sanctions on Moscow. Russia says it will halt the military operation instantly if Kiev meets Moscow’s list of demands, including never applying to join NATO.

Peace talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations are taking place in the Turkish city of Istanbul, with an Interfax source saying a document on the neutral status of Ukraine may be signed later on Tuesday.

Russia To ‘respond Appropriately’ If NATO Nations Give Combat Planes To Kiev: Defence Min

Russian Defence Minister asserted that Russia will “respond appropriately” to NATO countries if they provide combat planes and air defence systems to Ukraine.

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu asserted that Russia will “respond appropriately” to NATO countries if they provide combat planes and air defence systems to Ukraine. While speaking at a teleconference, Sergei Shoigu stressed that they continue to monitor the remarks made by certain NATO countries on the plans of supplying planes and air defence systems to Kiev, Interfax reported. The statement of the Russian Defence minister comes as the war between Russia and Ukraine continues for the second month.

Sergei Shoigu called the implementation of their plan to supply lethal weapons as “irresponsible.” He emphasized that providing “uncontrollable” arms to the people and mercenaries in Ukraine will aggravate the situation and may even cause a threat to European nations. According to Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, around 600 foreign mercenaries have been killed in Ukraine in the past two weeks and more than 500 mercenaries have left the war-torn nation, as per the Interfax news report. Revealing details regarding their “special military operation” in Ukraine, the Russian Defence Minister asserted that they have reached the main targets of the first stage of the operation.

Ukraine armed forces ‘suffered considerable damage’: Russian Defence Minister
Furthermore, Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu stressed that the “combat potential” of the Ukrainian troops have been witnessing a significant decline and added that this permits the Russian soldiers to focus on their efforts on achieving the primary aim which is the “liberation of Donbass,” as per the news report. According to Sergei Shoigu, the Ukrainian troops have “suffered considerable damage” and 123 planes, 77 helicopters, 152 long and intermediate-range air defence missile system of Ukraine’s armed forces have been destroyed. He claimed that they have been providing humanitarian assistance to the civilians in Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republic.

    • – Installed Puppet Zelensky (yes, he was installed and some people are pulling his strings) is acting like a spoiled brat. He wants everything with almost nothing in return except more demands from the international community. I think whoever was involved in installing him has lost control of their puppet.

As an aside: Zelensky now wants the USA (aka Biden) to open its door to peace talks between parties. IMHO, I think this will occur and is going according to plan. There will be a successful resolution and Biden will be named for a Nobel Peace Prize just in time for the November Primaries. I mentioned this outcome very early on when Zelensky refused to enter into negotiations with Russia/Putin. –

As proof of his good faith during negotiations, he is flying missiles into Russian territory.

** However, Russian news agency TASS reported that four Russian military personnel were injured and said preliminary reports suggested the explosion was caused by a Ukrainian missile. **

‘The shell hit the territory of a temporary military camp in the Belgorod region. Four servicemen were injured,’ an emergency services source told TASS.

The suspected Ukrainian shelling of the target in Belgorod comes the same day that Russia announced it would begin pulling back troops from Kyiv and Chernihiv following peace talks with Ukrainian delegates in Istanbul.

Ukraine’s delegation at the conference laid out a framework under which the country would declare itself neutral and its security would be guaranteed by an array of other nations.

Moscow’s public reaction was positive, and the negotiations are expected to resume on Wednesday, five weeks into what has devolved into a bloody war of attrition, with thousands dead and almost 4 million Ukrainians fleeing the country.

    • the conservative tree house – Ukraine President Zelenskyy Demands Europe Transition to “Green Energy” Quickly

And there it is….. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a public broadcast urging the allied western nations to quickly adopt “green energy” policies which he says will undermine the influence of Russia in Europe. If you’ve been following events, this demand is yet another big puzzle piece coming together.

The Recount has the video HERE:

      https://therecount.com/watch/ukrainian-president-zelenskyy-pushes-for/2645880391

I cannot locate the shareable video on any other tech platform, which, given the importance, is not surprising. I doubt any govt in the western world wants to have the dots connected.

In the video Zelenskyy urges the NATO alliance, specifically western Europe, to quickly adopt the Build Back Better climate change agenda as it helps his country. He advocates for “green energy” as a top priority so that alliance members are not reliant on Russian energy sales.

If it seems a little odd that a president, in the middle of a war zone, would be advocating for the climate change agenda, you are not seeing the big picture.

Ukraine is a crisis that cannot be wasted.

The Green New Deal, Build Back Better, and western nation climate change agenda is far more important than a single proxy war nation.

Ukraine is a tool in the bigger agenda, nothing more.

Zelensky is controlled by the western alliance, NATO, Dept of State, CIA and western allied intelligence. This is part of the reason why Russia took action in the first place. Zelenskyy has a role to play and pushing the Build Back Better (WEF) agenda, while the opportunity exists, is all part of the organized global cleaving.

      Two fractured geopolitical groups globally.

The green energy group (economic globalists), and the fossil fuel group (economic nationalists)

The guiding American assumption here, if there is one, is that the country’s old regional allies have little choice but to eat whatever is served to us for breakfast, and to eat it again for lunch. This assumption is arrogant and false.

While American policy is beset by baffling contradictions, Chinese policy is simple and straightforward. Beijing is offering Riyadh a simple deal: Sell us your oil and choose whatever military equipment you want from our catalogue; in return, help us to stabilize global energy markets.

In other words, the Chinese are offering what increasingly appears modeled on the American-Saudi deal that stabilized the Middle East for 70 years.…

MARCH 05 2021 – Biden and Ukraine: A strategy for the new administration

Issue Brief by Anders Aslund, Daniel Fried, Melinda Haring, John E. Herbst, William B. Taylor, Alexander Vershbow

Related Experts: Anders Aslund, Melinda Haring, John E. Herbst, Alexander Vershbow, Daniel Fried

    Executive summary

Since the Kremlin invaded Ukraine in 2014, the United States has been an essential partner for Kyiv. Now that President Joe Biden has taken office, he has a real chance to move past the difficult detour that US-Ukraine relations took under his predecessor. In Biden and Ukraine: A strategy for the new administration, top experts and former US ambassadors to Ukraine lay out a plan for how the Biden team can repair relations with Ukraine, encourage President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s team to commit once and for all to lasting reform in the country, and how to engage in the peace process to end the conflict in the Donbas.

Resetting relations with Kyiv will not be simple. As vice president, Biden oversaw Ukraine policy, visited the country six times, and knows most of its players and personalities, which is an obvious advantage. But Zelenskyy is different from his immediate predecessor. He hails from Ukraine’s Russian speaking east, was not an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity, has had little contact with the West, and took a battering during Trump’s first impeachment in which Ukraine was front and center. However, Zelenskyy is keen to engage with the new Biden team and seeks recognition as a global leader. The Biden administration would be wise to seize this opportunity.

The first priority for the new Biden team should be to get to know the players in Ukraine and Zelenskyy’s inner circle (Zelenskyy’s team and his ministers are not household names in Washington) and to establish a relationship of trust after the turbulence of the Trump years. The second priority should be to strengthen Western support for Ukraine’s defense against Kremlin aggression. And the third priority should be to craft a strategy to encourage Zelenskyy to embrace a real reform agenda, especially to establish and enforce the rule of law and bolster civil society and independent media. Elected on a platform to make Ukraine rich, end corruption, and bring peace to Ukraine, Zelenskyy has much work to do to live up to these promises. His inner circle doesn’t seem to comprehend these issues. Ukraine’s backtracking on reforms has been swift since Zelenskyy dismissed his reform-minded government in March 2020, but there is still time in the president’s term to turn things around. Several recent positive signs have been apparent that the United States and Ukrainian leaders can build upon.

This paper outlines a strategy toward Ukraine for the Biden administration. It includes sections on US interests in Ukraine, the domestic situation in Ukraine, the Kremlin’s objectives in Ukraine, and new approaches to resolving the conflict in the Donbas. It concludes with recommendations for the Biden administration and Congress.

Biden and Ukraine: A strategy for the new administration, is authored by Dr. Anders Aslund, senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center, Ambassador Daniel Fried, Weiser Family Distinguished Fellow at the Atlantic Council and a former assistant secretary of state for Europe and Eurasian affairs at the US Department of State, Melinda Haring, deputy director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center, Ambassador John Herbst, director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center and a former US ambassador to Ukraine, Ambassador William Taylor, vice president of the United States Institute of Peace and a former US ambassador to Ukraine, and Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, distinguished fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security and a former US ambassador to Russia.

    Key recommendations

Once the Biden administration has reestablished close relations with Ukraine, Biden’s team should:

Appoint an ambassador as soon as possible.

Take leadership of Donbas diplomacy. Play an enhanced role in the negotiations to end the war.

Work with Congress to increase military assistance to Ukraine to $500,000,000 per year.

Enhance security in southeast Europe and the Black Sea in consultation with NATO allies and partners.

Deepen Ukraine’s integration with NATO. Grant Ukraine the status of major non-NATO ally under US law. Warn Russia that if it remains intransigent in Ukraine, Washington will consider additional steps, including establishing a permanent US military presence at a Ukrainian training center close to the occupied territories and launching a NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) for Ukraine.

Strategic approach to sanctions. Work with the EU, European allies, and G7 partners to establish the concept of conditional sanctions on Russia if it continues its aggression in the Donbas. But make clear that sanctions aren’t forever.

Stay the course on ending Nord Stream 2.

Support the government of Ukraine’s efforts to organize the “Crimean Platform,” as it keeps occupied Crimea on the international agenda and reminds people, including in Russia, that Crimea is still Ukraine in the eyes of the international community.

On the issues of domestic reform in Ukraine, the Biden administration should:
Empower a senior official as the US point person for reform.

Prioritize the establishment of independent courts.

Take action against the major corrupt figures undermining reform in Ukraine.

Energetically pursue the US request to Austria to extradite Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash, and pursue legal processes against Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky in the United States.

Press for reform of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Work to re-empower the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).

Push for abolition of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) economic department.

Push to restore the competitive and transparent appointment of state officials on the basis of competence. Non-reformers seemingly loyal to various vested interests are currently being selected.

Work for a return to a reform program in the health sector.

Urge the completion of the liberalization of energy markets.

Help establish full transparency of the ultimate beneficiary owners of major media and prohibit not only Russian television but also television channels owned by figures working in the Kremlin’s interests.

Reiterate strong support for the independence of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
Champion anti-monopoly legislation to limit the influence of large businesspeople on Ukraine’s economy and political system.

Outline a program that would stimulate US corporate investment in Ukraine if Ukraine proceeds with substantial prosecutorial and court reform.

Fixing relations between the United States and Ukraine will not be easy, especially given the turbulence experienced during the past administration. But close ties and a successful Ukraine are squarely in the interests of the United States and firmly in-line with the foreign policy goals of the Biden administration.

A tough choice between Muslim Europe and Muslim Russia.

Russia, with a birth rate of 1.5 children per woman, has invaded Ukraine, where the birth rate is 1.2 children per woman, to determine which nation with below replacement birth rates will go extinct the fastest. In the long run the only winners of the war to determine whether Ukraine will belong to the 1.2 or 1.5 people will be the Chechen and other Muslim soldiers doing the fighting.…

Europeans claim that they can have a tolerant society built around the demographic growth of a religion that murders unbelievers. Putin claims that a new Christian Russian empire will be built on a multifaith alliance with a religion that has spent centuries destroying Christian empires….

Vladimir Putin likes to play the defender of Christianity. A defender of Christianity wouldn’t send Muslim soldiers to invade a fellow Christian country. But then again the Europeans pretend to be defenders of tolerance and yet they’ve filled the continent with a religion of intolerance….

Behind the dueling campaigns of propaganda, the total saturation of lies, are these grim realities of despair and death. The spurious nationalism is a facade for the hard realities that Ukrainian and Russian boys are dying in a pointless war whose only winners will be the migrant hordes flooding out of the ‘Stans’ and out of Asian and Muslim Middle Eastern nations to replace them….

So this is the third time in the Ukraine war that Russia demonstrably brought up nuclear options; this is all geared to cater to Western media news cycle, “Kremlin spokesman: Russia would use nuclear weapons…”

A week ago Russia also mentioned them, “Putin spokesman refuses to rule out use…”

And then in early March, “Putin signals escalation as he puts Russia’s…”

Russia does this every week or so just to create media buzz, it’s all about catering to the worldview of the “oh no there could be WWIII” crowd. Russia knows how to use the propaganda wording that meshes well with the West’s proclivities.

  7. US Top Commander In Europe Forced To Rebut Latest Biden Remarks

In yet another awkward contradiction out of this US administration concerning Ukraine, which at this point seems to come almost daily, the head of US European Command was forced to issue a contrary explanation after Biden on Monday said multiple times that US forces are “helping train” Ukrainian troops in Poland.

This triggered a rebuttal of the US Commander-in-Chief from Gen. Tod Wolters, who also serves as NATO’s supreme allied commander in Europe. On Tuesday Gen. Wolters denied that the US is currently training Ukraine forces in Poland.

“I do not believe that we are in the process of currently training military forces from Ukraine in Poland,” the top general told a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing.

He said further according to The Hill when pressed on Biden’s series of statements, which the White House had later sought to downplay as gaffes and merely lacking in nuance:

“There are liaisons that are there that are being given advice,” Wolters told Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), without elaborating further. “And that’s different than [what] I think you’re referring to with respect training.”

But again, as we detailed earlier, Biden had actually asserted that American forces were training Ukrainians in Poland multiple times, strongly suggesting this was anything but “confusion” or a mere gaffe on the president’s part…

National security adviser Jake Sullivan previously stated that the US currently has 10,500 troops in Poland, some of which the president visited over the weekend. Across Europe, Washington has bolstered its presence to the tune of 100,000 total troops. The U.S. has 10,500 troops in Poland as part of the 100,000 total that it has stationed across Europe, told reporters.

When initially asked Monday about this “training the Ukrainian troops” remark, Biden offered the dubious explanation that he was actually referencing he himself “being with and talking with the Ukrainian troops who are in Poland.”

But it remains that not only his own advisers have had to offer repeat corrections, but now even the US head of European Command in Senate testimony. This goes beyond an awkward situation, but even into the realm of dangerous, given many of these walked-back remarks serve as a huge provocation to Russia (especially Saturday’s regime change statement fiasco from Warsaw).
