Reader’s Links for March 27, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

Comes very close to this (jump to the 7 min. mark but it all could have been said yesterday):

As an aside, how many times must we plebes revise the model of our world? How many times are we fooled by our understandings within the information battle space pervading our every woken moment? I wonder what life would be like if, but for a fleeting glimpse, I was not playing catch-up to understanding what seems to be an infinitely labyrinthine geopolitical plot. Beyond simply giving up and letting go, how would it feel to know what THEY know? Yes, the secrets of the order of the world so perfectly nuanced with privileged information that it is like a mountain top from which you see even the faint curvature of the earth. A day so clear. Or is the quest for such understanding a chimera? Is knowing what a Soros, or Kissinger, or Schwab, or Putin or Xi knows not as breathtaking a vision as we imagine it to be? Blessed are those who are happy knowing no more, or are not driven by ambitious curiosity.

If the globalist club exists, then why war? What can possibly be so fundamental to the machinations of the final installation of Agenda 21/30 that all is placed at risk? Could the clash possibly be about how the new system will settle accounts? Is this not basic enough an issue to create friction? After all, they know they must live with the new paradigm for about one hundred years, if the history of world reserve currencies is any guide.

In one camp we have the grossly indebted USD world, sufficiently Keynesified to having one foot in its grave. In the other camp we have debt, yes, but also the ancient attitude towards hard money. In fact it’s very clear. Looking back we can see the accumulation of debt vs the accumulation of gold. We see the contrasting philosophies being Debt is Money vs Gold is Money. Yes, this is an East–West divide.

Putin, Zelensky, Biden, Xi, Trudeau et al may, indeed, be WEF bedfellows, but with a serious philosophical disagreement about scratch.

Even if we believe the Heartland theory to be obsolete, there is nothing stale about East/West disharmony. There is also no denying that Central/East Europe is the focal point of this current friction. The region grips its historical, dubious distinction like a ghost of great wars past.

It’s plain to this armchair geopolitical analyst that programmable central bank digital currencies may be supported by all for their efficacy in population control, but not for final trans-regional balance of payments. (Notice I didn’t say settlement between countries?) So yes, another revised model. Will it last for one day, or two?

  2. Rally Eric Zemmour, life from Paris, at the Trocadero, (in French).
Eric is my candidate for President of France, the only one who can safe France from “le Grand remplacement” and who is not beholden (like the other candidates) to the Globalists.

The first part of the election is on 10 April. The two who survive will battle it out in a “second tour” in May.

    • Macron spends €2.4 billion on private consultants

French government says UK spent 40 times more

President Macron’s government has defended its decision to pay private consultants €2.4 billion for reports and advice since 2018 by claiming that the UK spent 40 times more.

Macron has come under particular fire over government dealings with McKinsey, a US consultancy with which he has close links, which has been accused of failing to pay corporation tax in France for at least the past decade.

His opponents are hoping that the “scandal” will damage his standing ahead of the presidential election next month, when he is tipped to win a second term.

reuters – French Senate accuses McKinsey exec of false testimony in tax hearing

March 25 (Reuters) – The French Senate said on Friday it was launching legal action concerning U.S. management consultancy McKinsey, suspecting an executive of giving false testimony when he told senators the company was paying corporate taxes in France.

The controversy comes as rivals of President Emmanuel Macron, less than three weeks ahead of the presidential election, accuse the government of lavishly spending taxpayers’ money on international consultancies during its term.

The Senate said that a French executive in January told a hearing: “I say it very clearly: We pay corporate taxes in France and all our salaries are registered in a company under French law which pays its taxes in France.”

The Senate said in a statement on Friday it has taken “legal action on suspicion of false testimony before the inquiry’s committee”.

Macron’s government has been accused of paying millions for advice on what was criticised as a slow rollout of COVID-19 vaccines.

According to a Senate report published last week, French ministries have more than doubled spending on advisers from 379 million euros ($417 million) in 2018 to 894 million euros last year.

The report also found that McKinsey, which has been present in France since 1964 and has its office on Paris’ prestigious Champs-Elysees, had not paid corporate taxes in the country over the last ten years.

McKinsey did not comment when contacted by Reuters, referring back to a previous statement that said its French arm had paid out 422 million euros ($465 million) in taxes and social charges from 2011 to 2020, without specifying whether that included corporate taxes.

False testimony before an inquiry committee, or perjury, is liable to five years imprisonment and a fine of 75,000 euros.

Macron’s ‘state scandal’ as rival slams £2billion handed to firms now in tax probe

EMMANUEL MACRON is under fire over his government splashing at least €2.4 billion (£2bn) to consultancy firms now being investigated for tax evasion.

Under the French President’s administration, expenses for consulting contracts have more than doubled since he first took power in 2017. US consultancy agency McKinsey is facing Senate scrutiny as it stands accused of not having paid corporate tax in France between 2011 and 2020.

The firm is so far denying any wrongdoing claiming it respected “all the applicable French tax and social rules” and saying that it had paid corporation tax “in the five years when the firm made profits in France”.

And the French Senate’s are not the only eyes on the fallout, as Macron’s political rivals are wading in ahead of a crucial presidential election he is still tipped to win.

National Rally MEP Jordan Bardella said the Senate findings put the President on “the verge of a state scandal”.

He told Sud Radio: “I regret that the McKinsey affair makes so little noise. ??Over the entire five-year term, Emmanuel Macron and his government have paid almost €3 billion in public money to consulting firms, including €41 million to McKinsey during the management of the Covid.

“The Minister of Public Service lied under oath before the national representation by explaining that spending on consulting firms had not increased.

“However, they exploded under Emmanuel Macron, they have doubled since 2018.

“Light must be shed on this affair. This inter-self, this cronyism must be sanctioned at the ballot box.”

He continued: “This recourse to private firms to have decisions taken in the general interest.

“We can’t let these people make decisions between themselves, hand over the wheel of the French car to private interests who don’t pay taxes in France and who are American firms.”

Questioned on Wednesday, March 23, over the issue, Macron told French radio RTL that he was “shocked”.

He added: “That the government, that the communities have recourse to firms of experts, that does not shock me.

“The criterion for me is that it must not come to replace things that we know how to do ourselves and that it is done in a transparent and controllable way.”

Last week, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire also attempted to respond to backlash received over the issue.

He said: “We are going to make sure that McKinsey pays the taxes it owes to France, like all companies.”

The minister added that “all the procedures are already initiated by the Directorate General of Public Finance, McKinsey will pay”.

According to data obtained from the budget ministry, consultancy spending by French ministries amounted to €893.9 million in 2021, compared to €379.1 million in 2018.

  3. Belgian cyclist Cédric Baekeland dies aged 28 following a heart attack in Mallorca

BELGIAN cyclist Cedric Baekeland dies of a heart attack at the age of 28 during a training camp in Mallorca, Spain.

Mr Baekeland, from the Belgian city of Roeselare, rode for the Boby & Bike-BMB Boekhouding-The Rock Real Estate cycling team and had been on the Mediterranean island since March 12.

Baekeland and his teammates were preparing for the start of the Belgian cycling season, which begins on March 26 in Slypskapelle, Belgium.

However, on March 14, Baekeland suffered a heart attack. He managed to wake up his roommate before he collapsed and was sadly unable to be resuscitated.

According to Belgian news outlet Nieuws Blad, the young cyclist only recently took up the sport after playing football for both KSV Roeselare and Club Roeselare.

An injury stopped his footballing career but he proved to be good at cycling. The news outlet reports that he started in under 23s races as a member of the cycling team Dovy Kitchens-FCC Cycling Team. He stayed with the team for a few years before making the switch to Boby & Bike-BMB Boekhouding-The Rock Real Estate.

This season he would have been a full member of the team, riding in elite races.

At the request of the family, the cycling team does not wish to respond to what happened in Mallorca for the time being, Nieuws Blad reported.

Sadly, the news of Baekeland’s death comes after cycling lost another young rider.
On March 9, it was reported that Scotland’s Commonwealth Games cyclist Cédric Baekeland died suddenly aged 28.
His sudden death was mourned across the sport.

Then on Monday, March 21, the 101st edition of the famous Volta a Catalunya cycling race, which started in the comarca of Sant Feliu de Guixols in Girona, Catalonia, suffered a near-death incident, after Italian cyclist Sonny Colbrelli collapsed crossing the finishing line. Initial reports suggested that he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Colbrelli’s team, Team Bahrain Victorious, issued an official statement at the time: “After the sprint of the first stage of the Volta a Catalunya, Sonny Colbrelli fell unconscious. He received medical assistance and was in stable condition before being transferred by ambulance to the Hospital Universitari de Girona for treatment”, it read.

An update issued by the team on March 22 said: “Our medical team can confirm that Sonny Colbrelli suffered from a cardiac arrest that required defibrillation.

“The cause is still to be determined, and the Italian rider will undergo further tests tomorrow at the Hospital Universitari de Girona.

“Sonny Colbrelli’s clinical situation is good, and we wish him a prompt
    recovery.”

  4. DEUTSCHE PRAVDA – The anti-Orban roadshow in Hungary

Ahead of parliamentary elections in Hungary, the online channel “Partizan” wants to challenge Orbán’s control over the media.

An anti-Orbán alliance is running against the ruling Fidesz party on April 3, 2022.

The theme: Orbán’s part in Putin’s war.
