All things Russia Vs. Ukraine for March 23, 2022

1. Below, a discussion between Jeff Nyquist and communist expert, Trevor Loudon on Ukraine and Russia. This is a different look at the situation and how conservative media portrays this conflict.

Much more to come. But at this juncture, it seems that some analysis on this from an overhead perspective needs to be at least seen. Not to say that critics of Ukraine and those who feel Russia has a real cause for war are “traitors” or even totally wrong. But perspective is needed as NATO appears to be ramping up for a wider conflict and at some point, we need to be on our side no matter how repugnant we may find our own leaders. And speaking for myself, they are positively emetic.

2. Women are being tied to trees and beaten in Ukraine. I don’t know the reasons, but I don’t believe there is a trial first.

Youtube will not allow working embeds of these videos. So Ill post the links as above. Meaning if you click it, it takes you to Youtube.

3. Now to complete any unfinished cognitive dissonance that may still be out there. Remember how the US was pushing a Maoist LoE (line of effort) in the spring of 2021 about Alien involvement in Earthly geopolitics? Ok I don”t know exactly where this all comes from, but presumably its a narrative that will become more common if they can sell it. Notice there is as little evidence for the claim as there is for “The Religion of Peace”, or, “Safe and Effective”. or “Defending Democracy” or any of the other cynical slogans used to short circuit your own experience and understanding and move the locus of power farther and farther from your own reach.

Odd how after he says, “Are Ukrainians receiving heavenly help” the video is just a few birds. In any case, after the push by the US government, even on 60 Minutes, nothing would surprise me in terms of what lies they will tell us all.

4. Warning: Ukraine is the Great Reset Laboratory of the Global Tech Elite

Ukraine is transferring citizens’ power to the state and handing it over to the WEF and other Supranational organizations.

A global system of totalitarian technocracy has arrived, and Ukraine has happily been globalists’ Great Reset Laboratory.

In the middle of a war, Ukraine has been stealthily working hard on being the first nation to implement virtually all the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Great Reset key hallmarks: Digital identity, Vaccination passports, Universal basic income (UBI), Chinese style Social credit scores which are all combined in their already operational Diia app. The country is transferring citizens’ power to the state and handing it over to the WEF and other Supranational organizations.

Read the following article: “In the shadow of war: Ukraine as the great reset laboratory of the global tech elite” by Julian Schernthaner at German news site Wochenblick to learn more…

5. The Express.UK shows 2 large Russian missiles in the kitchen of a Ukranian home that seems to show no or minimal damage to the ceiling. Either they flew in through the window or…

(If you watch the video at the express, there appears to be on small perfect circle in the ceiling where both missiles presumably managed to fly through before lodging themselves in the sink. Still, its faster and less messy than calling a plumber in a communist country.)

6. Smoke coming from what is probably a document burning session at the Russian Embassy in Warsaw, Poland. Probably not, (hopefully not) a prelude to invasion, but likely a prelude to an evacuation of the embassy, either by Poland or Russia.

7. Here is a link to a page of what I suspect is Russian propaganda videos on Youtube. Quite a lot of material here. Some beach videos from Crimea for example, may not be what you expect.

8. Interview with Zelenskyy. DW is a very far left German narrative news source though. Keep that in mind when they ask CNN like questions at the start. He does a lot of globalist pitching in this video. To be honest, despite his vagaries, he seems to be feeding the narrative that he is fighting for a globalist agenda in some ways.

9. Ukraine guilty of brutal violation of Trans-rights. Won’t let Trans-women leave the country with, well women.

(Machine translation from Italian)

Ukraine, transgender women on the run rejected at the border: “They are men, they must go back to fighting”

Hundreds of transgender citizens are trying to find refuge outside Ukraine but have been stopped at the border and forced to go back to fight

They feel women , they have a completely feminine aspect and their community recognizes them as such, but not their passport , where the male name is still in bold, and the “M” is still engraved next to the gender entry.

Two words that in recent weeks weigh heavily on hundreds of transgender women fleeing the war in Ukraine.

According to the martial law in force , male citizens between 18 and 60 are forced to stay in order to serve in the military and defend Ukraine. And among these, therefore, also certified trans men or trans women without any certificate confirming the change.

  2. The whole “heavenly intervention” thing is just – weird. Probably hysterics and people that want to get on TV. Many evangelic types have been predicting the end-of-the-world any minute for the last 50+ years (at least).

On the tic-tacs: Ward Carroll, a retired naval aviator has an interesting analysis of this on YouTube. He suspects a potential U.S. dark project. That wouldn’t necessarily be unusual. The DOD has a history of keeping tech in their pocket until at some point they do a “big reveal”. I’m thinking of the mysterious triangular shaped flying craft seen for several years in various locations. Then Gulf War I happens, and bang, dozens of F-117 Nighthawks running stealth attacks on SAM sites – those were the “triangles”.

Many pilots I’ve known (including a close relative) have seen some strange phenomena they can’t fully explain even as trained observers. My father-in-law saw an enormous “bolt” of fire going upward over the Atlantic that erupted into a blossom of delta-shaped objects traveling at high speed upward. Several other pilots in the area saw it as well and reported to ATC. From the reports and the various positions of the reporting pilots, they concluded these delta shaped “darts” were frigging huge. No idea what it was, but their was a “military exercise” in the area.

Trudeau said there was also more involving climate change and clean energy that had to be discussed, as well as ways that Canada can help to replace Russian gas in the short-term.

Von Der Leyen also said meetings would be ongoing between Canadian and EU officials to “further discuss potential Canadian energy supply to Europe.”

  12. Niall Ferguson:

“It would indeed be wonderful if the combination of attrition in Ukraine and a sanctions-induced financial crisis at home led to Putin’s downfall. Take that, China! Just you try the same trick with Taiwan — which, by the way, we care about a lot more than Ukraine because of all those amazing semiconductors they make at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.

The fascinating thing about this strategy is the way it combines cynicism and optimism. It is, when you come to think of it, archetypal Realpolitik to allow the carnage in Ukraine to continue; to sit back and watch the heroic Ukrainians “bleed Russia dry”; to think of the conflict as a mere sub-plot in Cold War II, a struggle in which China is our real opponent.

The Biden administration not only thinks it’s doing enough to sustain the Ukrainian war effort, but not so much as to provoke Putin to escalation. It also thinks it’s doing enough to satisfy public opinion, which has rallied strongly behind Ukraine, but not so much as to cost American lives, aside from a few unlucky volunteers and journalists….

  13. reuters – Putin wants ‘unfriendly’ countries to pay for Russian gas in roubles

Russia will seek payment in roubles for gas sales from “unfriendly” countries, President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday, sending European gas prices soaring on concerns the move would exacerbate the region’s energy crunch.

European countries’ dependence on Russian gas to heat their homes and power their economies has been thrown into the spotlight since Moscow sent troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24 and the subsequent imposition of Western sanctions aimed at isolating Russia economically.

With the financial noose tightening and the European Union split on whether to sanction Russia’s energy sector, Putin hit back with a clear message – if you want our gas, buy our currency.

“Russia will continue, of course, to supply natural gas in accordance with volumes and prices … fixed in previously concluded contracts,” Putin said at a televised meeting with top government ministers.

“The changes will only affect the currency of payment, which will be changed to Russian roubles,” he said.

Russian gas accounts for some 40% of Europe’s total consumption and EU gas imports from Russia have fluctuated between 200 million to 800 million euros ($880 million) a day so far this year. The possibility that a change of currency could throw that trade into disarray sent some European wholesale gas prices up to 30% higher on Wednesday. British and Dutch wholesale gas prices had jumped by Wednesday’s close.

The Russian rouble briefly leapt to a three-week high past 95 against the dollar and, despite paring some gains, stayed well below 100 after the shock announcement. The currency is down around 20% since Feb. 24.

“At face value this appears to be an attempt to prop up the Ruble by compelling gas buyers to buy the previously free-falling currency in order to pay,” Vinicius Romano, senior analyst at consultancy Rystad Energy, said.

Putin said the government and central bank had one week to come up with a solution on how to move these operations into the Russian currency and that gas giant Gazprom (GAZP.MM) would be ordered to make the corresponding changes to gas contracts.

With major banks reluctant to trade in Russian assets, some Russian gas buyers in the European Union were not immediately able to clarify how they might pay for gas going forward.

Several firms, including oil and gas majors Eni, Shell and BP, RWE and Uniper – Germany’s biggest importer of Russian gas – declined to comment.

Moscow calls its actions in Ukraine a “special military operation” to disarm and “denazify” its neighbour. Ukraine and Western allies call this a baseless pretext that has raised fears of wider conflict in Europe.

    A BREACH OF RULES?

According to Gazprom, 58% of its sales of natural gas to Europe and other countries as of Jan. 27 were settled in euros. U.S. dollars accounted for about 39% of gross sales and sterling around 3%.

The European Commission has said it plans to cut EU dependency on Russian gas by two-thirds this year and end its reliance on Russian supplies of the fuel “well before 2030.”

But unlike the United States and Britain, EU states have not agreed to sanction Russia’s energy sector, given their dependency.

The Commission, the 27-country EU’s executive, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Wednesday that he would discuss with European partners a possible answer to Moscow’s announcement about the gas payments.

“It is unclear how easy it would be for European clients to switch their payments to roubles given the scale of these purchases,” said Leon Izbicki, associate at consultancy Energy Aspects.

“However, there are no sanctions in place that would prohibit payments of Russian gas in roubles,” he said, adding that Russia’s central bank could provide additional liquidity to foreign exchange markets that would enable European clients and banks to source the needed amount of roubles on the market.

However, there are questions over whether Russia’s decision would breach contract rules which were agreed in euros.

“This would constitute a breach to payment rules included in the current contracts,” said a senior Polish government source, adding that Poland has no intention of signing new contracts with Gazprom after their current long-term agreement expires at the end of this year.

Germany’s Habeck also said Putin’s demand was a breach of delivery contracts.

A spokesperson for Dutch gas supplier Eneco, which buys 15% of its gas from Gazprom’s German subsidiary Wingas GmbH, said it had a long-term contract that was denominated in euros.

“I can’t imagine we will agree to change the terms of that.”

The Dutch Economic Affairs Ministry said it was too soon to comment.

Russia has drawn up a list of “unfriendly” countries corresponding to those that have imposed sanctions. Among other things, deals with companies and individuals from those countries have to be approved by a government commission.

The list of countries includes the United States, European Union member states, Britain, Japan, Canada, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland and Ukraine.

Some of these countries, including the United States and Norway, do not purchase Russian gas.

I’ve seen several photos from the Ukraine of these things sticking out of the ground, a few went straight through the asphalt cover of a road.
They’re probably traveling at subsonic speed when they drop out of the sky. Still, a heavy chunk of metal like that at such speeds, that’s a lot of energy. If these can penetrate a road, they also can go through a roof, and maybe several floors depending on materials used.
