Reader’s Links for March 20, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

      • Transcarpathia has been an sore spot for Magyars since Trianon. They refuse to forget. In fact, the Orban policy has been to help finance and educate Uke Huns of this area, and Romanian Sekely of Transylvania, even to much domestic criticism from the left. My father is convinced Orban’s relatively softer tread on Putin speaks to his strategic effort to ultimately repatriate this region. Few people realize the remarkable impact some of the people from this region have had on world history.

Then very interestingly this on the Hungarian Martians:

        • A close family friend came from Chernivtsi in the Bukovina. (Same as the despicable Elie Wiesel, a prof at Boston U.)

The “country” – as such – always seemed to be in flux when they were growing up. Official portraits changed, but it didn’t really matter. Till the end of the world in 1941. Transnistria will always sound like death to me.

The flag might not matter all that much to people living in the Transcarpathian region today. If they’re not marginalized for being Hungarian, speaking their own language. For the last eight years they’ve had a hard time.
          …..
          Those Hungarian Martians are amazing.

  1. Understanding the coming changes in money terms. Hyperinflation, which I do not think we will see, occurs once the last drops of residual gold is rinsed from the currency. There will likely be a mass line construction, starting soon, to acclimatize populations to the notion of accepting a new digital manifestation of their dollars, euros etc. If I were a central banker I would wait until a financial crisis to do this because a desperate people are easier to control, and require far less narrative-induced fear hypnosis once their options are exhausted. However, don’t be fooled by an central bank digital coin. Unless it is backed by the highest form of money, physical gold then silver, it remains fiat and so will join the ghosts of currencies past. And even if it is gold backed it will be used for control rather than what money is really for: autonomy of the individual.

  2. Wishing and hoping
Yesterday I went shopping in a small town. As I got close to the town, I thought how nice it would be if only there was an A&W. I like A&W. Well much to my delight, poof, down the hill on the left sat a new A&W. I will not tell you my next wish involving some people.

Last night I read about Event 201, brought to you by the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health Security, the World Economic Forum, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, supported by funding from Open Philanthropy Project.

October 18, 2019, Pierre Hotel, New York, NY.
    Time 8:45 – 12:30
Invitation only (no “little people”) 130 people ( elites) attended.

Exercise players were Latoya Abbott, Sofia Borges, Brad Connett, Christopher Elias, Tim Evans, George GAO, Avril Haines, Jane Halton, Matthew Harrington, Martin Knuchel, Eduardo Martinez, Stephen Redd, Hasti Taghi, Adrain Thomas and Laban Thiru.

    Subject A Fictional Outbreak Scenario
Event 201 simulates an outbreak of a novel zoonotic CORONAVIRUS transmitted from bats to pigs to people that eventually becomes efficiently transmissible from person to person, leading to a severe pandemic.

The scenario ends at 18 months point, with 65 million deaths. Pandemic is beginning to slow due to decreasing numbers of susceptible people. The pandemic will continue at some rate until there is an effective vaccine or until 80-90% of the global population has been exposed. From that point on, there is likely to be an endemic childhood disease.

On November 6, 2019, poof, I read about a couple of people being isolated in Wuhan, China.

  3. Statement by the Prime Minister on Nowruz

    March 20, 2022
    Ottawa, Ontario

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on Nowruz:

“Today, over 300 million people around the world, including Iranian, Afghan, Kurdish, Zoroastrian, Bahá’í, Central Asian, and Ismaili communities will celebrate Nowruz.

“Nowruz – which means ‘new day’ in Persian – marks the first day of spring and is celebrated as the beginning of the New Year. A time of renewal and new beginnings, Nowruz is also an opportunity to reflect on the difficulties of the past year, which was made particularly challenging by the COVID-19 pandemic, and share aspirations of hope and optimism for the year ahead.

“Today, families and friends gather around the haft-seen table to share festive meals, enjoy music and dance, and appreciate life’s many gifts, while celebrating new beginnings and embodying the core values of compassion, peace, and acceptance at the heart of Nowruz.

“For all Canadians, Nowruz is an opportunity to recognize the many communities that observe this day, and the important contributions that they make to our country. Diversity is our country’s strength, and together we will persevere to build a stronger, fairer Canada for all.

“On behalf of all Canadians, I wish everyone celebrating health, joy, and prosperity in the New Year.

“Har Ruz etan Nowrouz, Nowruz etan Pyrouz.”

  4. Tomorrow is SMILE DAY

    Turn off you television.

Go outside – I am going shopping AGAIN.

Just say “To hell with the hypochondriacs, the World Economic Forum clowns / Trudeau, Freeland, Carney, Ford / Klaus Schwab puppets. Ain’t Nobody Gonna Break My Stride.”

Welcome back to the real world, oh, and never again.

  5. twitter @JustinTrudeau

The attack on congregants at the Dar Al-Tawheed Islamic Centre is incredibly disturbing.
I strongly condemn this violence – which has no place in Canada – and I’m keeping the community in my thoughts today.

I also want to applaud the courage of those who were there this morning.

  7. zero hedge – Elon Musk Defends Russell Brand, Says Groupthink Among Major Media Is “More Troubling”

Last week, after British online newspaper The Independent published a scathing op-ed piece about comedian Russell Brand, Elon Musk took to Twitter to defend the standup comedian and offer his thoughts on the mainstream media.

The exchange started when The Independent took a swipe at Brand, who has been gaining popularity online, namely for avoiding groupthink while discussing current events and politics.

Responding to a Tweet that claimed Brand had turned into a conspiracy theorist, Musk responded: “With so many mainstream media companies saying [Brand] is crazy/dangerous, I watched some of his videos. Ironically, he seemed more balanced & insightful than those condemning him!”

After sticking up for Brand, Musk then turned his ire toward the mainstream media: “The groupthink among major media companies is more troubling. There should be more dissent” the Tesla CEO wrote.

The Independent’s piece was titled “How did Russell Brand go from stand-up stardom to peddling YouTube conspiracy theories?” and it focused on the online resurgence of Brand, who has tackled topics like Covid and the Russian-Ukrainian war by daring to think for himself and now carrying the mainstream media’s narrative.

“Brand has reinvented himself as an outspoken YouTube personality, amassing over 5 million followers,” the article read. “Maybe he truly wants to awaken his followers to the world’s ugly realities. Maybe he just likes the attention. Or maybe a sceptical viewer might watch one of his videos and question why he advertises his stand-up tour just seconds into the start of each clip.”
