Reader’s Links for February 3, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. PROJECT VERITAS – DOH Whistleblower Says Covid Inflated for Profit ‘He went for gunshot wounds and was coded as COVID’

COVID Cases Inflated for Profit: ‘The Guy Went in for Multiple Gunshot Wounds and he was Coded as COVID’

    – Jeanne Stagg, a whistleblower who worked in Inpatient Utilization Management, approached Project Veritas after seeing cases coded as COVID-19 that she says should not have COVID-19 listed as the “primary diagnosis.”

-Stagg: “I’ve tried to raise awareness to my leadership and even with the Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Department, and it just kind of fell on deaf ears.”

    – The Chief Medical Officer for United Healthcare of Louisiana (Medicaid) opined in a recorded phone conversation that the Medicaid rate for reimbursement of COVID-19 patients, which is faster and significantly higher, could be the motivation for the improper “primary diagnosis” codes.

    – “Oh, yes. Yeah. I would think that there’s some motivation that it’s driving higher rates of reimbursement or quicker reimbursement, or something, because otherwise there’s no reason to put, you know, something like that as a leading diagnosis in an asymptom– basically asymptomatic patients,” said Dr. Morial, Chief Medical Officer for United Healthcare of Louisiana.

    – The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has suspended utilization review which is the process of determining whether health care is medically necessary for a patient or an insured individual. The whistleblower says this could be a major contributing factor to spikes in COVID numbers, which then influence public health decisions.

[Baton Rouge, La. – Feb. 2, 2022] A source who works for United Healthcare of Louisiana’s Inpatient Utilization Management Department is blowing the whistle on COVID-19 cases possibly being inflated for financial incentive. The brazen instance of such potential abuse was a patient who had multiple gunshot wounds with his primary diagnosis listed as COVID-19.

United Healthcare of Louisiana is the states’ Medicaid arm, and as the whistleblower Jeanne Stagg points out in a conversation with the Chief Medical Officer of United Healthcare of Louisiana, Dr. Julie Morial, there are several financial incentives for hospitals to prefer to code patients as COVID-19 hospitalizations.

“Well maybe that’s… maybe that’s driving some of the motivation,” said Dr. Morial before stating that the Medicaid rate for reimbursement of COVID-19 patients is both higher and faster.

Project Veritas also published footage of a leadership call within United Healthcare of Louisiana wherein the whistleblower’s attempt to discuss the improper primary diagnoses she is seeing was dismissed.

A major element of this story is the fact that recent actions by public officials have allowed the problem to persist, and the whistleblower believes erroneous codes could be the cause of COVID-19 spikes which influence major public health decisions.

A health plan advisory, which announced that all utilization management for all medical hospitalizations [including but not limited to initial service authorization and concurrent reviews], must be suspended was the action taken — which is in question.

“Now, this is not specific to COVID-19. This is every single hospital admission. We’re not allowed to do medical necessity review. So, it gives the hospitals free reign to admit anything they want. Code it however they want,” says the whistleblower, Jeanne Stagg.

United Healthcare of Louisiana’s Dr. Morial was contacted for comment on this story and said, “When I see a patient, and if a patient is presenting other symptoms that aren’t suggestive of a COVID infection, even though they may test positive for COVID, that’s not my primary diagnosis.”

  2. Laura Ingraham. It is remarkable how increasingly similar the portrait, and therefore nefarious correlating machinations, of our our two countries look alike. Sure, we don’t have First and Second Amendments, but still. It may sound like a great leap to say that we should be one country, but the aggregate affects of leftist deconstruction are inadvertently making us appear to be such during this season of our discontent:

  3. February 3 2022 Chief ISIS thug blows up himself, family as US closes in
    https://nypost.com/2022/02/03/biden-announces-death-of-isis-leader-abu-ibrahim-al-hashimi-al-qurayshi/
The leader of the ISIS terror group detonated a suicide vest during a raid by US special forces Thursday, killing himself and at least a dozen others, multiple outlets reported Thursday.
President Biden confirmed the death of Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi in the operation in northwestern Syria near the Turkish border, and noted there were no American casualties.
The president was due to give further remarks on the operation later Thursday morning.
The Associated Press, citing first responders, reported that 13 people had died, including six children and four women. The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed on social media that there were 13 deaths. However, the organization said only four of them were children and three were women.
ABC News, citing a US official, reported that all the victims were killed when al-Qurayshi blew himself up.
It was not immediately clear whether all of those killed were members of al-Qurayshi’s family and inner circle. Other potential targets of the raid have not been identified.
Al-Qurayshi has acted as the leader of ISIS since October 2019. He succeeded Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who similarly detonated a sucide bomb as American forces approached his lair.
The operation took place in the village of Atmeh, near Syria’s border with Turkey. The raid, which lasted roughly two hours, was the largest in the province since the operation that targeted al-Baghdadi.

People on the ground reported seeing body parts around a targeted building, while local residents said the raid involved helicopters, explosions and machine gun fire. US troops were also reportedly seen using loudspeakers to urge women and children to leave the area.
The top floor of the building was almost completely destroyed in the raid, with most of the walls and ceiling knocked down. Rubble was seen surrounding the building and blood was spotted on the remaining walls and floor.
One helicopter used in the raid suffered a mechanical problem and had to be blown up on the ground, a US official confirmed to the AP.
The US has conducted several air raids in the region in recent years targeting terrorist organizations or Iran-backed militia groups.
Last October, the US military announced that a drone strike had killed top al Qaeda leader Abdul Hamid al-Matar.

  5. Slain ISIS Terror Leader Resided In Turkish Occupation Area Of Syria

update(11:06am ET): In total 13 people people reportedly died, and a US Blackhawk helicopter went down in an emergency landing (subsequently destroyed by US operatives), during the daring overnight raid on the terror leader’s hideout.

Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, said to the the successor of the Islamic State’s al-Baghdadi, reportedly detonated a suicide bomb as US special forces conducted their operation by a middle of the night landing from helicopters. He was living an a multi-story residence in Atmeh, Idlib, which is in an area controlled by Turkey & HTS (or Syrian al-Qaeda).

According to details presented by the White House:

Al-Qurayshi died after detonating a suicide bomb that also killed members of his family as U.S. forces closed in, Biden said in an address from the White House.

The counterterrorism operation was carried out under his direction, he said, with all U.S. forces emerging safe from the raid.

Local residents and first responders described a chaotic scene that left a number of people dead, including women and children.

The UK Times details, “According to reports from witnesses, he refused an initial order to surrender. In the subsequent fighting, the house was blasted with explosives and in total 13 people were killed, including four women and six children.”

Akin to the 2011 Bin Laden raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan – a US military helicopter went down: “A U.S. official said that a military helicopter experienced a maintenance issue during the operation. It set down safely at least a mile away from the objective, but was deemed unsafe to fly back and was detonated on site, the official said.”

The operation was said to have been “months” in planning, and reports say defense planners and the administration knew it would be a high risk, dangerous raid in the middle of a residential area with women and children present.

      • Looks like that chopper was systematically and thoroughly demolished. You can only tell what the wreckage used to be because of the rotor blades, and even those look like they’ve been clipped. Maybe with shaped charges? Obviously a good thing, nothing left for the Russians or Chinese to pick apart.
Except maybe that last chunk, does anybody know what part that was?
It has a large hole that’s empty, maybe for a weapon system that was taken off prior to the demolition, and transported from the scene?

    • Why are they there, we are still in lockdown? Do they not know the bloody sky has fallen in Dictator Doug‘s Ontario. Every feckless fear monger in Ontario will tell you people are dropping in the streets, it is all gloom and doom. Vile, hate spewing, misogynists, Islamophobic, immoral, super spreaders are everywhere. And the anti-everything truck drivers are in Ottawa. What will happen when March madness comes?

  8. reuters – Austria’s upper house backs COVID vaccine mandate

VIENNA, Feb 3 (Reuters) – Austria’s upper house of parliament on Thursday passed a bill to make coronavirus vaccines compulsory for adults, bringing the European Union’s first such sweeping vaccine mandate a step closer.

Roughly 69% of Austria’s population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, one of the lowest rates in western Europe. The new government has stuck to the planned mandate since it was announced by a previous chancellor in November, even as doubts have grown that it will be fully implemented.

The mandate, which is expected to be carried out in phases, is likely to come into force within days but there will be no checks until March 15, when police will start verifying the vaccination status of people they stop in their regular patrols.

More thorough checks will begin at a later, unspecified date in a third phase once a vaccination register is up and running.

“I hope that we will not need Phase 3 at all. If (health) experts say that in their assessment it is not necessary, if constitutional lawyers say it is not proportionate, Phase 3 will not happen,” Health Minister Wolfgang Mueckstein told ORF radio hours before the upper house passed the bill by 47 votes to 12.

He was asked whether that phase would still be necessary given the current record number of infections caused by the highly contagious Omicron variant, which means immunity among the population is also growing.

Adding to confusion about the mandate, the government is easing restrictions on the unvaccinated, who will soon no longer be barred from restaurants and non-essential shops because intensive-care bed occupancy is at “a good level”.

Having cleared the upper house, the bill must go through the formality of being signed by President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Karl Nehammer, after which it will come into force. That process usually takes a matter of days. The government has long said the mandate will begin at the start of February.
