Reader’s Links for December 9, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

German chemist Dr. Andreas Noack found DEAD after exposing presence of graphene hydroxide in covid “vaccines”

Image: German chemist Dr. Andreas Noack found DEAD after exposing presence of graphene hydroxide in covid “vaccines”
(Natural News) On Nov. 23, a world-renowned German chemist by the name of Dr. Andreas Noack put out a video (you can watch it at the Daily Exposé) exposing the presence of graphene hydroxide in Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccines.” Three days later, Noack mysteriously died.

While the specific circumstances surrounding Noack’s death remain unknown, it is being reported that he was “attacked,” which resulted in his passing. This is according to Noack’s pregnant wife, who published her own video after his death to sound the alarm.

“On the day of his graphene hydroxide video, he developed breathing difficulty and died in the early morning on Nov. 26, 2021,” Noack’s wife revealed in the video.

Noack’s wife further made the suggestion that perhaps Noack was targeted with a directed energy weapon, or DEW, since he was not attacked in an obvious sense with a blunt object. Instead, Noack developed some kind of strange respiratory ailment on the very same day that he exposed one of the contents of Fauci Flu shots.

“It was on the day when the graphene hydroxide video was released and the interview with herald Thiers took place,” Noack’s wife explained in German. “Then we went upstairs onto the gallery; we relaxed, talked, laughed, told each other how much we love each other.”

“Then, he wanted to go downstairs into the kitchen to get something to nibble on, and normally he does not spend more than one minute there, so I went downstairs and said jokingly, ‘you eat everything away from me again.’ In that moment, he started to sway and I thought he was making fun of me – it looked like he was playing.”

Was Noack murdered by the powers that be?
It was at this point that Noack’s wife still thought he was pretending and tried to kiss him, telling him to stop. But Noack did not stop, and what happened next is even more shocking.

“In that moment, the electricity went off and the whole thing happened 20-30 minutes after the interview, and then Andreas collapsed in his arms,” she went on to explain. “He began to moan, had severe pain.”

“His body completely tensed, and all of a sudden he could not talk anymore. At first, I thought he might have been poisoned because he made some choking sounds. So, I instilled him with Sole (like salt water), then he vomited what he had eaten during the day, which wasn’t much. I just couldn’t do anything.”

Noack’s wife stayed with him while he remained “paralyzed” in a way that she could not describe, and helped keep his body upright so he would not strike his head. Noack was eventually able to go upstairs on his own but continued to have trouble breathing before eventually succumbing to a second round of paralysis.

“He couldn’t breathe anymore and I started to scream,” she recalls. “I yelled at him that he should get out of this condition and come back to me. I cried and he tried to comfort me. I was busy then to make sure Andreas can breathe well.”

Emergency responders tried to help Noack’s wife resuscitate him over the phone for what she says felt like hours. Eventually, six of them showed up in person and connected him to machines, as well as to a ventilator.

Noack’s wife was told that her husband would be saved during this process, but that never panned out. He was taken to the hospital where he would never leave, with doctors saying that “his large heart valve ha[d] failed completely” due to a heart attack.

  3. This is dynamite. I remember watching his live stream, a year or so ago, when the police broke into his lifestream, arrested him and stopped the transmission then and there. I thought it weird at the time, and thought that was either a staged performance, or they will kill him. But life intervened and I nearly forgot about it.

    And now he is dead.

In that link you will also find THAT video of the arrest, but also the video for which, as it looks, they gave him the coup de grace.

I would be grateful to hear what you all think about it. As a non-injected I am called an antivaxxer, here in OZ that is a euphemism for “leper”, but also soooo often I get the “conspiracy theorist” these days that I have started to wonder, if they got a point, hence my interest of what folk here think:

    • Our guys and gals have been struggling with this. We don’t know if we should translate his wife’s video or not.

We did the original raid of his home when it happened:

      https://3speak.tv/watch?v=rairfoundation/myawtlpo&utm_source=studio

But there is so much oddness with his death. Mind you, yesterday’s ‘conspiracy theory’ is today’s established fact.

Also Rita, the term, “Conspiracy theory” was actually coined by the CIA as a way of ad hominem dismissing anyone who looked into events that they did not want people to look farther into. Specifically, the JFK assassinations.

I’m not saying one way or the other who did or did not kill Kennedy or why. But I am saying that yes, the CIA invented the term for that reason. That is established. And that RFK Jr. is correct when he says:

“When you lock up the data that long from the public, it isn’t to protect a person, it’s to protect an institution”. (paraphrasing from memory. I think it was in his interview with Dennis Prager.)

As Covid-19 began spreading in early 2020, one of Linfa Wang’s first ideas was to test the blood of people who’d survived a previous coronavirus outbreak.

The virologist, who works out of Duke-NUS Medical School, a collaboration between Duke and the National University of Singapore, has been studying bat-borne viruses for decades.

He’d helped show that SARS-CoV-1, which killed almost 800 people in 2003, likely jumped to humans from horseshoe bats. Wang’s new theory was that people who’d recovered from the original SARS might harbor antibodies that could help fight the new one, SARS-CoV-2.

Interestingly, states in the Northeast suffering from Covid surges are also leading the nation in vaccination rate.

New Hampshire also leads the nation in the share of people having received at least one shot, at 90 percent, with 63 percent of people being fully vaccinated.

All of these states are also suffering recent upticks in cases of the virus, though all by Massachusetts are among those in American with the lowest death rate per every 100,000 residents.

    • NIH: No Documents Available On Removal Of “Gain-Of-Function” Definition From Website

No documents exist explaining why officials decided to remove the definition of “gain-of-function research” from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) website, the agency told The Epoch Times.

The NIH site used to include a 232-word definition of the research but it was removed around the same time the agency disclosed that research it funded in China met the definition.

The alteration took place sometime between Oct. 19 and Oct. 21.

The Epoch Times submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for any communications and other documents from between Oct. 1 and Oct. 25 relating to the change, which had been authorized by the NIH Office of Communications and Public Liaison.

The request was closed this week. The NIH told The Epoch Times that it “does not have documentation” on the change other than the updated page.

The Department of Health and Human Services in 2017 published a document explaining how to deal with proposed research involving “enhanced potential pandemic pathogens,” or gain-of-function research. The document narrowed the definition to pathogens both highly transmissible and likely to cause significant sickness or death in humans.

The page in question “had described the general definition of gain-of-function research that fell outside the scope of the HHS P3CO Framework,” an NIH spokeswoman told The Epoch Times in an email in October.

“However, that information was being misused/used incorrectly (and still is) and creating confusion (and still is),” she added, triggering the change.

The NIH’s FOIA office sent a statement on the change that was nearly identical as the one from the spokeswoman.

Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.), the ranking Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, told The Epoch Times via email that the changed definition “has only muddied the waters.”

“Part of understanding what happened in the Wuhan lab is understanding precisely what gain of function means, and NIH has not been helpful in this regard,” he said.

The documents released to lawmakers in October showed the NIH funded, via the EcoHealth Alliance, research in China that included enhancing the pathogenicity of a modified bat coronavirus.

Experts told The Epoch Times that the research clearly fit the definition of gain-of-function.

Dr. Francis Collins, the head of the NIH, had asserted in a statement in May that his agency had never approved any grant ” that would have supported ‘gain-of-function’ research on coronaviruses that would have increased their transmissibility or lethality for humans.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of Collins’ top subordinates, said under oath during a congressional hearing that “The NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”

After the October disclosure, Collins and Fauci appeared to admit the research met the general definition of gain-of-function, but argued it did not meet the definition laid out in the framework.

DEC 08 2021 – NYT – I’m an E.R. Doctor in Michigan, Where UNVACCINATED People Are Filling Hospital Beds

Recently a patient in his 70s came seeking care at the small rural hospital in West Michigan where I’ve worked as an emergency physician for two decades. He had tested positive for the coronavirus earlier in the week, was running a high fever and struggled to breathe. When asked if he’d been vaccinated, he snapped back, “I don’t approve of the vaccine.”

A few days later, a young patient sick with Covid-19 was admitted with dangerously low blood oxygen levels. His spouse and infant child came in to say goodbye just before he was sedated and intubated. “I don’t think I’ll see you again,” he said. He died before the end of the week. He was unvaccinated.

As of last Monday, nine hospitals in Michigan were 100 percent full, and at least 20 others were at or above 90 percent capacity. Statewide, nearly one in four hospital patients has a confirmed or suspected case of Covid-19. In the last few weeks, my hospital has been consistently at or near capacity and nearly every day the vast majority of those patients are sick with Covid-19. Nearly all have been unvaccinated.

In a small hospital, our patients are our neighbors, friends and old high school classmates. The profound sadness of failing to save a life hits us every time. Familiarity deepens our sadness, but more and more we feel frustrated and angry. Losing a patient is never easy. Losing one so senselessly, when the death could have been avoided with a free, safe and effective vaccine, is devastating.

I often feel full of trauma, guilt and despair. I’m mad at the Fox News personalities and the Republican politicians who downplay vaccination. I’m frustrated with people who aren’t doing more to protect themselves and their loved ones. Sometimes, I’m just mad with a kind of seething aimless anger. But even on the hardest days I box my emotions and get back to the work of caring for patients because I made a commitment to heal people, not hold grudges.

On some shifts, the stress in the air is palpable. My colleagues and I know the patients are piling up , but there just are not enough nurses to properly triage everyone. A patient experiencing heart failure waits in an emergency room because inpatient rooms upstairs are all occupied. Patients who need surgery can’t be transferred because nearly every hospital within a two-hour drive is near or at capacity, too.

Nurses in my emergency department work double duty, checking on admitted patients and tending to new ones streaming in seemingly every hour. They’ve done this shift after shift for at least a month with no end in sight. And they did it during the last surge, in the spring, and the one before that, last winter. One of the best emergency nurses I’ve ever worked with told me that she cries on her drive home after every shift.

Like in the rest of Michigan, an overwhelming majority of patients in our hospital are unvaccinated, including 98 percent of acute critical care patients. Given that only about 62 percent of Michigan residents have had at least one dose of vaccine, lagging behind the national rate by about nine points, I fear we won’t see an end to the tide of sick people anytime soon, and hospitals can absorb only so many surges.

Michigan’s health infrastructure isn’t the only one teetering on the verge of collapse. The Arizona Department of Health Services reports 94 percent of beds in the state are full, with Covid-19 patients making up about a third of those hospitalized. In Texas between mid-January and October, unvaccinated peopl made up a vast majority of reported Covid-19 cases and deaths there. The domino effect of strained operations carries a cost, and the data shows that patient safety is suffering under the crush of too many sick people and not enough health care workers.

As immunity from vaccinations wanes, infections will most likely increase if a persistently large number of people remain unvaccinated.

A VACCINE MANDATE IS THE ONLY WAY to break the endless cycle of surging infections that in turn push hospitals to the brink, AND TO SAVE LIVES IN CONSERVATIVE, PRO-TRUMP COMMUNITIES like mine where Covid-19 misinformation is pervasive and death rates are far higher than in other communities.

For close to two years, doctors and public health professionals have tried to persuade people to wear masks and socially distance. For most of 2021, we have coaxed people to do their civic duty and get vaccinated We have shared the SCIENCE. We have used facts. We have explained how vaccinations suppress and ultimately stop diseases. We have gone on TikTok. We have held town halls.

My colleagues in health care and I know we can’t silence the charlatans who spout nonsense about lifelong natural immunity and unproven cures . We aren’t winning with facts because one-seventh of Americans still say they will not get vaccinated. Despite the growing body of peer-reviewed studies and scientific research under our belt confirming masks and vaccinations are how we stop Covid-19, millions of Americans are still unpersuaded.

With every shift, I see the strain people sick with Covid-19 put on my hospital. Their choice to not get vaccinated is not personal. It forces patients with ruptured appendixes and broken bones to wait for hours in my emergency department; it postpones surgeries for countless other people and burns out doctors and nurses.

The coronavirus has sickened nearly 50 million Americans and killed over 788,000. New mutations continue to appear, and the winter’s chill will bring flu season along with it. Personal choice cannot be an acceptable reason to endanger other people. With cases and deaths continuing to rise and antivirals in short supply, time is not on our side.

A widespread vaccine mandate may be the only thing that can save our hospitals and our patients.

Dr. Rob Davidson (@DrRobDavidson) is an emergency physician in West Michigan and the executive director of the Committee to Protect Health Care.

    • zero hedge – epoch times– Maine Governor Activates National Guard To Help At Hospitals After Mandate Forced Out Hundreds

Maine Gov. Janet Mills on Wednesday activated the state’s National Guard to go to hospitals and help workers after her COVID-19 vaccine mandate caused hundreds of nurses and other healthcare employees to leave their jobs or get fired.

Mills, a Democrat, said the move was to “help alleviate short-term capacity constraints at hospitals and maintain access to inpatient health care services for Maine people amid a sustained surge of COVID-19.”

One of the most-vaccinated states in the country,Maine has seen COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations increase in recent weeks.

Out of 379 hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Maine as of Dec. 8, 117 were in critical care and 60 were on ventilators.

Most are not vaccinated, according to state data.

At the same time, the bulk of inpatient beds were not being used for COVID-19 patients, according to data reported to the Department of Health and Human Services by state facilities.

Dr. Andrew Mueller, CEO of MaineHealth, said hospitalizations for COVID-19 in the healthcare system are the highest ever.

Mueller told reporters in a virtual briefing that a shortage of workers is affecting facilities in addition to the rising number of COVID-19 cases and an “incredible demand for other, non-COVID services.”

Hundreds of workers quit or were fired due to Mills’ COVID-19 vaccine mandate, which the Supreme Court declined to block, Maine hospital systems have told news outlets.

In addition to the workers lost, many workers either have COVID-19 or are being investigated for possible COVID-19, forcing them to miss work, healthcare executives said. They also described a national shortage of qualified workers.

“The challenge we’ve got is finding qualified healthcare workers, because they don’t exist. Our nation’s lost over half a million health care workers who resigned, retired, left the field in the last several months. And so there’s a huge workforce crisis across our country,” Mueller said.

The National Guard personnel will provide support to facilities and units that get patients who are discharged from hospitals due to being overwhelmed. They’ll also help administer monoclonal antibodies, one of the best-known COVID-19 treatments, in a bid to keep COVID-19 patients who aren’t in hospitals out of hospitals.

“I’m deploying these National Guard members across the state of Maine to expand our hospitals’ capacity to treat people with COVID-19 and other serious conditions,” Mills told a press conference.

The deployment will start next week and run through the end of January.

As many as 75 members will be sent to assist healthcare sites.

Mills’ administration also asked the federal government to send COVID-19 surge response teams to two Maine hospitals. The teams would help workers at Maine Medical Center in Portland and Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Maine Medical Center closed six operating rooms this week to make more space for intensive care units.

Central Maine Medical Center has also seen an increase in patients, including COVID-19 patients.

“Any additional resources that can be provided, whether from the state or federal level, during this time when resources are stretched thin for Maine hospitals are greatly appreciated,” Steve Littleson, the president and CEO of Central Maine Healthcare, the parent company of the center, said in a statement.

Parents and students at an elementary school in Chelsea, Que. say they are shocked a teacher was removed from the classroom for wearing a hijab.

The Western Quebec School Board confirms the Grade 3 teacher at Chelsea Elementary School was removed from the classroom because of Bill 21, Quebec’s law that bans the wearing of religious symbols by certain government employees deemed to be in positions of authority while at work.

Parents of Grade 3 students at the school received an email on Friday, Dec. 3 letting them know the teacher would no longer be in the classroom. Some parents later learned the teacher was removed because of Bill 21.

“It’s shocking as a parent to see this come into action within our small little community,” said parent Amanda DeGrace.

“Now to have to have conversations we’ve had with our kids before, but actually have conversations that they’re able to connect the dots of something they’re seeing happening in real time and in real life, and it is very sad to me that we’re seeing Bill 21 come into action and the impact that it’s having on everyone involved.”

Quebec’s Bill 21 came into effect in June 2019, and prohibits public-sector workers who are deemed to be in positions of authority from wearing symbols such as hijabs, kippahs or turbans while at work.

This week, parents have been placing green ribbons on a fence outside the school in support of the teacher.

“As a way to help show support and solidarity with this teacher who has been affected by this Bill 21,” said DeGrace.

“We are asking people to please speak up. It’s really, really important as a community that we help to create change and we take action for that change to happen.”

In an interview with CTV News Ottawa, Western Quebec School Board interim chair Wayne Daly said the board removed the teacher from the classroom once the human resources department was made aware of the situation.

“The majority of the western Quebecers I’ve spoken to are against Bill 21, we’ve made our intentions and our feelings known to the government,” said Daly.

“Subsequent to that, the government did proceed with the bill and it is law now, and as a section of the education system within the government it is our responsibility to follow the laws of the province.”

All principals at schools within the Western Quebec School Board received a memo outlining the law and to “take it into consideration when you’re hiring teachers,” said Daly.

Daly says the board told the Quebec government that it “categorically stated our opposition to Bill 21 from the basic human rights perspective,” adding the law is “unethical.”

The Western Quebec School Board says the teacher will remain employed with the school in “another function,” but would not release further details.

the montreal gazette – Teacher removed from post in Quebec elementary school for wearing a hijab

A teacher employed at an elementary school in Chelsea, Quebec, has been removed from her teaching position because she wears a hijab, CTV News reported Wednesday evening.

The Western Quebec School Board confirmed that a Grade 3 teacher at Chelsea Elementary School, located 20 kilometres north of Ottawa, was moved from her job as a teacher in the classroom because of Bill 21, Quebec’s law that bars some civil servants from wearing religious symbols.

Parents were sent an email Dec. 3 telling them the teacher would no longer be in the classroom. They learned later that it was because of Bill 21. The woman is still working at the school in “another function,” but the school board would not say what type of work she is now doing.

Parents placed green ribbons on a fence outside the school as a sign of support for the teacher.

“It’s shocking as a parent to see this come into action within our small little community,” parent Amanda DeGrace told CTV News. “It’s very sad to me that we’re seeing Bill 21 come into action and the impact that it’s having on everyone involved.”

Wayne Daly, the interim chair of the Western Quebec School Board, said the board removed the teacher once the human resources department became aware of the situation. Daly said most residents in his sector of Quebec oppose Bill 21, and the board had told the Quebec government that it was against it “from a human rights perspective” and because it was “unethical,” but the board has no choice because it’s the law.

  7. Khaled Abu Toameh:
Arabs to Biden: Do Not Let Iran Play You for a Fool

“Iran has been insisting on its conditions and demands, including that Washington and the Western powers release frozen Iranian funds before reaching an agreement, […] refusing to discuss ballistic missiles, drones and its terrorist militias in the Middle East as the mullahs continue their alarming rate of uranium enrichment.”
Tariq Alhomayed, a Saudi journalist and former editor-in-chief of the Arabic-language newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat

“It is evident that Washington has been begging Iran to return to the negotiating table. […] Washington did not threaten Iran with the use of force. It is true that we hear statements from Washington about impatience, but they are neither serious nor real. The Americans did not convey any serious message to the Iranians.” – Tariq Alhomayed, Asharq Al-Awsat, November 24, 2021.

“Iraqi writer Ali Alsarraf believes that by seeking guarantees that the US will not reimpose sanctions on Iran in the future, the mullahs in Tehran are hoping that they will become immune from anything that their militias do in the Middle East, including striking American bases and forcing them to leave Iraq and Syria.

“As with North Korea, the world would be forced to grapple with Iranian aggression very cautiously because of the likelihood that it could rain down ballistic and nuclear weapons upon neighbors. Unlike North Korea, Iran has proxy forces deployed throughout the region which henceforth could act with impunity, shielded by Iran’s nuclear umbrella.”
Baria Alamuddin, award-winning Lebanese journalist and broadcaster, Arab News, November 28, 2021.

It is impressive to see that a growing number of Arabs, especially those… whose countries are occupied by Iranian-backed militias, share Israeli fears of the mullahs’ evil plans.

The message these Arabs are sending to the Biden administration: take a tough stance towards Iran before it is too late. Far from being a danger to Israel alone, Iran is terrorizing Arab countries and threatening world peace and security.

The weird thing is – the audience for this tweet is like the 500 people who track Iran policy. And 100% of them know this isn’t what our GCC partners told him. So why?

Justice, Democracy, and Free Speech: The Kyiv Post According to Publisher Adnan Kivan

Kyiv Post: There’s been plenty of speculation as to what led to your decision to make what appeared to be sudden changes at the Kyiv Post – everything from rumors of political pressure to office politics, to wanting to re-launch as a multilingual news organization. In your own words, can you tell us what really happened?

…Adnan Kivan: “Justice and democracy” – these are the main principles to which I live by. Also, “Silence is absolutely not golden”. My words were twisted to serve other people’s agendas and it was not what I meant at all…

  10. Democracy without Borders: Belarusian realities (1)

In the spirit of democratic solidarity, the Kyiv Post also wants to serve these communities of democratically minded refugees and exiles by providing them with the possibility to voice their concerns and views.

For this purpose, we will periodically be inviting representatives from political exiles who have found asylum in Ukraine and see it as a base for their democratic activities, to be heard on our pages in a new column called Democracy without Borders. The first two contributors will be from the Belarusian and Russian exile communities in Kyiv.

    Denis Dudinsky, exile from Belarus

To start with, let’s agree that all kinds and types of forced migration nowadays are distressing, horrible, unacceptable and humiliating. In 2020 Belarusians encountered this term – “forced migration” – for the first time.

That summer, presidential elections were held in Belarus. Belarusian society was split into two opposing and antagonistic groups – those who voted for Aleksandr Lukashenko and those who were against him (doesn’t matter for whom exactly the latter were going to vote for on election day – they all were voting AGAINST the dictatorship of Lukashenko).

Later, after Lukashenko announced himself the president of Belarus, political persecution began. Lots of opponents ended up in jail for weeks, months and years; thousands had, or were urged, to leave Belarus. The biggest wave of forced immigration from the country had started….

    • The Lookout @The_Lookout_N
      1/5 Nothing changed yesterday.

Remember Putins statement that is is useful to keep tensions high for the foreseeable future.

The buildup will likely continue, and contrary to popular belief, I’d say it’s being done as covertly as is possible in 2021.

2/5 The maps circulated in the press makes it seem obvious what the Russian plan is. This is very far from reality. The level of uncertainty is high.

Know deployments, as of today, are not jump-off positions for an immediate offensive, but forward basing and prepositioning.

3/5 Operational-level suprise is retained, and much can change within the last 24 – 72 hours before H-hour, if the order to go is issued.

4/5 Conducting this buildup is a vast undertaking. It is being done for a reason, and that reason was absolutely not just to achieve yesterday call.

Moscow has been very clear of what it’s red lines are. Those concerns are still valid.

5/5 In regards to potential timelines, I agree that Russia can maintain this posture through 2022.

However, if an offensive is the plan, I believe it is set for this winter.

The European energy situation gives Moscow a tremendous bargaining card against harsh sanctions.

  11. Blast from the past – 2012:
Authorities: Prices of socially important food will not increase in Kyiv

Kyiv City State Administration has promised that the prices of socially important food will not rise.

According to the press service of the city state administration, although a relevant draft instruction on the limits on profits from socially important food only specifies a list of products, the limits have remained unchanged.

Head of the Main Price Policy Department of Kyiv City State Administration Vasyl Yastrubynsky said that it is was necessary to approve a new instruction, as in the past year the department had had to explain some of the current instruction’s terms to businessmen.

The questions were connected with the regulation of prices of imported goods. For instance, the instruction contains an item about cheese, but the restrictions do not affect such imported cheese as Roquefort and Parmesan.

At the same time, the prices of foreign foods are formed considering tendencies on the world market and currency exchange rate, which has been rather unstable recently.

“This is why we specified the list of food that is affected by the instruction, and the adoption of this document will help prevent a rise in the prices of socially important products,” Yastrubynsky said.

He stressed that thanks to the limitation of profit margins, distribution chains will have no right to overprice socially important food deliberately and artificially with the aim of receiving over-inflated profits.

  12. Media Blame Vaccine Hoarding for Omicron’s Emergence in Africa. They’re Wrong.

To hear the media tell it, the emergence of the fast-spreading Omicron variant discovered in South Africa is a sign that “the continent was yet again bearing the brunt of panicked policies from Western countries” (New York Times). Africa was uniquely vulnerable because Western countries like the United States are “hoarding coronavirus vaccines” (CNN).

The analysis overlooks a central source of Africa’s vulnerability: vaccine hesitancy among the 1.2 billion people on a continent that has long elected political leaders who preach pseudoscience on everything from the anti-retroviral drugs that can save the lives of HIV patients to the genetically modified crops that could have fed starving people during a deadly famine.

In fact, several African countries have sent back vaccines: The problem they face is one of demand, not supply…

  13. On This Day: Ottomans surrender Jerusalem in World War I

December 9 marks 104 years since the Ottoman surrender at the Battle of Jerusalem, winning major morale and strategic victory in a key city in this important World War I battle.

The battle itself was the culmination of a long, bloody campaign in the Middle East by the British against the Turks, something that had been up to a rough start for a while.

Throughout World War I, British forces suffered multiple humiliating and costly losses against the Turks. This included the disastrous Gallipoli campaign, the Battle of Kut in modern-day Iraq and two losses in Gaza.

Taking the holy city was important, not just because of the religious symbolism for the largely-Christian UK, but because it was vital for Ottoman supply routes and for the British to establish a stronger position.

Fortune began to change when, after a second loss at Gaza, the commanding general of what had been dubbed the “Egyptian Expeditionary Force,” Gen. Sir Archibald Murray, was replaced with Gen. Edmund Allenby, who had been given instructions by the prime minister: Capture Jerusalem by Christmas.

  14. Two-faced sssssnake:
Skirting the line between a lukewarm friend and an enemy

Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York was praised for visiting Israel. But his alliances with anti-Zionists and disturbing stands illustrate the dubious nature of the search for friends of the Jewish state on the far-left

… Rather than reviving a bipartisan consensus in support of Israel, the growing influence of people like Bowman more or less guarantees that it is as dead as Jewish Republicans claim it to be.

Though his position is better than that of full-throated opponents, it’s necessary for pro-Israel activists to understand that with friends like Jamaal Bowman, enemies become superfluous.
