Reader’s Links for December 4, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. “Merle, bring me another bottle of Mung blood when you come back.”

It was Saturday night on Mars. Earthphiles Merle and Argyle were doing their astronomy.

Argyle lit his cigar and placed his eyeball back on the lens of the telescope. He fiddled with the focus knob with one hand while holding the cigar delicately up in the air with the other.
“Man those things stink,” Merle said as he returned from the kitchen.
“I know. Like rat farts. You say it every time.” Argyle lifted his eye from the instrument. “It’s getting bad down there. The fascists have really pulled a fast one. Using a fake pandemic to frontrun the fall of the world currency so they can set up the new system to their advantage. Brilliant but evil.”
“How is it some can see this but most cannot?”
“Particular skill sets, maybe. Curiosities? Objective defiance? Who knows.”
“Here’s your Mung,” said Merle placing the bottle on the small table beside Argyle. “What I find fascinating, now, is retrospect. I look back at various people who were in very exclusive positions that gave them privileged information. So, as we may detect black holes by the visible bending of light, without seeing the hole itself, were can be fairly certain the hole exists.”
“Go on,” Argyle said as he took a swig of Mung blood. He made the face of disgust as he swallowed the drink. “Good stuff, that,” he gasped trying not to choke, his Martian eyes crossing with delight.

“For example August 15, 2013, page 145–if memory serves but don’t hold me to it–of the Federal budget of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Buried therein was a line permitting the bail-in of depositors’ monies by the Charter banks in the event of insolvency. Get a grip on that, for a moment. Here you had a government–no a nation–that preened its banks’ resilience after the 2008 crisis. They eagerly compared themselves to American banks. But now Harper was quietly laying the berms to bankruptcy? Why? What did he know and what was he told? The prospect of Canadian banks going down has been dismissed as essentially impossible, from what I understand. So why legalize bail-ins? Stealthily beneath the public radar far in advance of some fictitious event? How fictitious, then, if its probability was great enough to make it the law of the land? And where is Harper now, quiet as a mouse while Dear Leader roars with his neoNazi medical tyranny, talking to the country’s children about potentially harmful experimental injections like he’s their favourite Uncle Buck. How can a man of Harper’s calibre remain silent? I mean truly. When regular people are taking to the streets, how can a man of such integrity remain passive? I see only a binary answer. Either the forces arrayed against are too deadly to confront, or the supposed integrity does not exist. Or a deal was made for him to get out of the way and to stay out. But I digress. My point is that the possibility of insolvency was forseen by those in the banking industry, for the reason they were intimately familiar with the enormous liabilities present in the shadow banking realm, not to mention the additional danger of contagion among banks holding eachother’s possibly-nonperforming assets.”

“Hence the bending of the light,” said Argyle puffing on his cigar. A lazy lick of white smoke twisted slowly in the air forming a dollar sign, then vanished.

“Yes. If we look at how many leaders have quietly stepped aside it is quite conspicuous, and spooky, frankly.”

“”We’ll call it the Retrospect File. Comprising odd moves and words prior to the pandemic alluding to foreknowledge.”

    “I’ll drink to that.”

          • global news – Canadian zoos eagerly await vaccine shipment for animals

More vaccines are coming to Canada, but not for humans. Instead, zoos are eagerly awaiting doses of a COVID-19 specifically made for animals.

Pharmaceutical company Zoetis, based in the United States, has developed a vaccine specifically for animals.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has approved it for emergency use and the company is donating 900 doses, which should ship in the coming days.

As Mike Armstrong explains, American zoos are already inoculating animals against this virus.

  5. UK – Bomb squad called to Gloucester hospital after man got artillery shell ‘stuck in rectum’

The bomb squad had to be called to a hospital in Gloucester after a man got an artillery shell stuck inside him.

The army sent an explosive ordnance disposal team to Gloucestershire Royal Infirmary yesterday morning (December 2) after a patient told staff he had the ammunition stuck in his bottom.

It is understood he told staff he fell on the World War Two shell.

Gloucestershire Police confirmed its officers attended the hospital after “a report that a patient had presented with a munition in his rectum”.

A spokesperson for the force told ITV News: “The item had been removed prior to police arrival and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) were contacted.

“They attended and confirmed it was not live and therefore not a danger to the public.”

An Army spokesperson added: “We can confirm an Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called out to Gloucestershire at the request of local police.”

The hospital told ITV News it followed the relevant safety protocols were followed to ensure there was no risk to patients, staff or visitors.

the sun – BUM SQUAD Bomb squad race to A&E after patient arrives with WW2 artillery shell stuck up his bottom

THE bomb squad raced to an A&E after a patient arrived with an artillery shell stuck up his behind.

Army explosives experts were scrambled after medics feared the anti-tank round could be about to explode.

The unnamed patient told doctors he “slipped and fell” on the 17cm by 6cm armour-piercing projectile taken from his private arsenal of military collectables.

It was later identified as being a World War Two 57mm shell that were typically fired from six-pounder anti-tank guns.

A source told The Sun: “The guy said he found the shell when he was having a clear out of his stuff.

“He said he put it on the floor then he slipped and fell on it — and it went up his a**e.

“He was in a considerable amount of pain. I think he collected military memorabilia.”

Police said they responded to “a report that a patient had presented with a munition in his rectum”.

A spokesman added: “The item had been removed prior to police arrival and the Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were contacted.”

Troops from 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment rushed to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, in Gloucester.

A defence source said: “It was a solid shot round. It was a chunky, pointed lump of lead designed to rip through a tank’s armour.

“It was basically an inert lump of metal, so there was no risk to life — at least not to anyone else’s.”

The Sun doctor Carol Cooper said the patient could have died if the round had pierced his gut.

She added: “The range of objects that are pushed into rectums is incredible, from wine glasses to ketchup bottles and parts of hoovers.

“Sadly, it is an everyday occurrence in A&E — but I have never heard of the bomb squad being called out before.”

A hospital spokesman yesterday said: “As with any incident involving munitions, the relevant safety protocols were followed to ensure there was no risk to patients, staff or visitors at any time.”

The MoD said: “We can confirm an Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called out to Gloucestershire at the request of local police.”

The sheepish patient is understood to have been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

  6. global news – Study suggests mixing and matching vaccine boosters proves effective

A new study from the United Kingdom is adding to the evidence that mixing and matching COVID-19 vaccines provides solid protection from the virus.

The study looked at those who received two doses of AstraZeneca or Pfizer-Biontech. They received boosters for one of seven vaccines, including the four approved in Canada.

The effect was a boost of antibodies and T-cells against Alpha, Beta and Delta variants, equivalent to over 90 per cent protection against infection, even serious cases.

Could the method also work against the new Omicron variant?

Eric Sorensen looks at the findings.
