Reader’s Links for November 4, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  2. Iranian Oil Sales to China Skyrocket as Experts Say Biden Admin Turns Blind Eye to Sanctions Enforcement

Illicit Iranian oil sales to China have soared in recent months as the Biden administration attempts to reenter the 2015 nuclear accord, raising concerns from Iran experts that the United States is turning a blind eye to sanctions violations in a bid to entice Iran back to the bargaining table.

China imported nearly 800,000 barrels of Iranian crude per day on average during the last three months, almost double the amount it was illegally buying from Iran during the same period last year when the Trump administration was pressuring Iran with a crippling sanctions campaign. The increase comes amid an effort by China and Iran to boost diplomatic ties and force the Biden administration into removing sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

Iran has also been building out a large “ghost armada” of ships that illegally transfer oil to China, Syria, and Russia, among others, and evade sanctions by turning off their onboard transponders, essentially making these ships invisible. The number of these ships known to be in operation has increased in recent months, according to research conducted by United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), an advocacy group that tracks Iran’s monthly oil exports and shipping industry.

China’s importation of Iranian oil has drastically increased since January 2021, according to experts tracking the numbers, and has coincided with the Biden administration’s efforts to revive nuclear negotiations with Tehran. The United States has promised to waive sanctions on Iran that were imposed by the Trump administration, including those on its oil trade, if Iran agrees to return to the deal. Experts say the Biden administration is already tacitly allowing these sales to increase by not enforcing sanctions still in place—giving the Iranian regime a critical financial lifeline as its economy teeters on the brink of collapse.

The increase in oil exports to China “has to do with a lack of enforcement on sanctions,” UANI chief of staff Claire Jungman told the Washington Free Beacon. “I do believe there is just a lack of enforcement and a lack of interest from the Biden administration to enforce these sanctions.”

  3. Cheeky protest: Israelis mock NYT on social media for article with negative portrayal of country

People in Israel have started a social media campaign against ‘The New York Times’ that portrayed them as ‘angry’ and displeased.’

They are posting pictures with the hashtag ‘sad, sad Israel’ to mock the article by the New York-based American daily newspaper.

Calling Israel a ”divided” land, the article that provoked many Israelis talks about ”incompatible factions” and grievances of the people living in the country.

The article had also highlighted how many Arab Israelis were increasingly asserting their Palestinian identity.

Israelis have criticised the negative outlook of NYT and have lambasted its preconceptions. They have also highlighted that Israel was ranked the 12th happiest country in the world.

WION of India holds Jews and Israel in its great big beautiful heart. That feels soooo good!

    • Of course she learned her history from Soviet textbooks and those are her facts.

The Russians defeated Hitler pretty much alone. They KNOW this. Their facts. I've heard it so much, I'm nodding along with it. Even though my uncle parachuted behind enemy lines and I know where, when, and how he fought. The permanent disability he sustained in the fighting.

In 1948 the British drew lines on a map and destroyed the Indian subcontinent. Horrific, enduring damage.
So in 1948 the British did the same thing over there, somewhere out there…

That means Israel was imposed on the Arabs by Western imperialists. That makes Jews “settlers” in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, or Judea and Samaria.
      JUDaism ~ JUDea?
      Sound the same. Just coincidence…

    • The New York Times Revises the English Language

What do you do when the usual way of describing Middle East developments isn’t advancing your agenda fast enough? Well, if you’re J Street or The New York Times, you just revise the English language to suit your political purposes.

Israel announced last week that it has approved the construction of about 3,000 apartments and houses inside a small number of existing Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

But building some apartments within those towns doesn’t sound too ominous. So, Patrick Kingsley, the Jerusalem bureau chief of The New York Times, came up with a new, nonsensical term that makes apartments sound much more menacing than they really are: “settlement units.”

[It’s] a rhetorical trick and a rhetorical weapon to make Israel look bad when the facts alone won’t accomplish that objective. It’s also a way of trying to energize Israel’s critics so they will immediately launch their own propaganda blasts.

  4. The bate and switch is here and the bankers are here to fix all of our problems. Of course, switching to the net zero economy will have “significant macroeconomic consequences”.

Bank of Canada announces climate change commitments for COP26

Addressing climate change is a global challenge. While the Government of Canada has the primary responsibility for climate change policy, the Bank of Canada recognizes the importance of including climate change considerations in its work to promote the economic and financial welfare of Canadians.

To fulfill its monetary policy mandate of keeping inflation low and stable, the Bank needs to understand the potential impacts of climate change on the macroeconomy and price stability. Climate change and the transition to a low-carbon net zero economy will have significant macroeconomic consequences, touching every region and sector of the Canadian and global economies. It will also have implications for structural change, the growth of potential output, and price stability.
The Bank also has a mandate to foster a stable and efficient financial system. The climate-related increases in the frequency and severity of extreme weather events and the transition to a low-carbon net zero economy pose significant risks to the financial system. By developing and advancing the use of tools to assess climate-related risks, the Bank aims to help markets price such risks. This assists in the efficient allocation of capital to more sustainable investments and supports the stability of the financial system.
The Bank’s role as Canada’s central bank involves demonstrating leadership in how we are managing climate risks in its own operations. Through its actions, the Bank aims to encourage Canadian financial market participants and other businesses to better manage climate change considerations.

    • The Palestinian Authority: President Biden’s Promises Are a Mirage

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is working to renew the involvement of the “Quartet” to convene an international peace conference with the help of Russia, despite the objections of the Biden administration.

Senior PA officials accuse the U.S. administration of “dragging its feet… making fun of us…”

The Biden administration is totally preoccupied with China, Covid-19, and the U.S. economy. It wants to continue managing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict without unexpected tremors and without the PA collapsing….

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is not interested in a diplomatic falling-out with the Biden administration. He knows that he cannot get anything better at the moment, so he is trying to bypass the administration by appealing to Russia to reinvigorate the Quartet to secure its political goals.

      • Tension in the Fatah Camp: Russia Received Mahmoud Abbas’ Greatest Foe, Mohammed Dahlan

In a surprising development, Mohammed Dahlan, the opposition leader of the Palestinian “Democratic Reform Movement,” met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on November 2, 2021. Dahlan, a former Fatah official who now resides in the United Arab Emirates, is a bitter foe of the Palestinian Authority Chairman, Mahmoud Abbas. There are some in the PA who accuse Dahlan of facilitating the Abraham Accords….

Dahlan told the Russians, “We are ready for reconciliation, and we have no demands and no conditions that go beyond the wishes of all patriots… Fatah continues to say that it is the vanguard and the supposed leader, and this is true historically, but today it is a broken vanguard.”

Another report by FatahVoice stated that the two delegations discussed the latest Palestinian developments and the possibilities of “inviting the International Quartet (the UN, the EU, the United States, and Russia) to reestablish its role and revive the peace process.”3

The two sides, the report continued, stressed the importance of achieving Palestinian reconciliation and mobilizing Arab and regional support as an essential step in “advancing the negotiations under the auspices of the International Quartet to reach a just agreement that will grant the Palestinian people their hopes and aspirations for an independent state.”

This development should not be taken lightly since the strong relationship with Russia is one of the cornerstones of Mahmoud Abbas’s policy….

Today, one of the stumbling blocks to resume talks with Israel is Mahmoud Abbas’s steadfast denial of the United States’ leading role in the peace talks. Instead, he seeks to give the Quartet this role. As a result, Russia would have equal status to the United States and the Quartet would convene an international conference with parties closer to Russia’s views than the United States.

In Mahmoud Abbas’s eyes, Dahlan is a red flag. He ousted him from Fatah, nearly arrested him in Ramallah, [Dahlan fled him for his life], accused him of corruption, and asked Interpol to arrest him.

If Russia is moving toward Dahlan, a consensus must have emerged from the world powers and leading Arab countries pointing to the end of Mahmoud Abbas’s political career. It may also indicate why Abbas is also seeking Russia’s aid to reinvigorate the Quartet.5

    • David Collier:
How the Palestinians Stole the Suffering of Just About Everyone

The pro-Palestinian movement can steal any idea, make any accusation, and global anti-Semitism will do the rest. Because their fight is against the Jews, their empty smears all go viral. Basically, if there is a bad thing happening in the world, the pro-Palestinian movement stole the idea to use it against the Jews. These include the theft of Apartheid, the Holocaust, genocide, refugee suffering, ethnic cleansing, victims of colonialism, concentration camps, suffering freedom fighters, racism, and victims of fascism.

      • Cultural Appropriation
      • Land grabbers
      • The theft of Christian suffering
      • The theft of the victims of Child Killers
      • The theft of the evicted people
      • The theft of the world’s soul

The pro-Palestinian camp accuses Israel of anything they can. But the truth is that Israel is a society that does its best to both defend itself and uphold the sanctity of life. The pro-Palestinian movement has invaded global human rights movements and corrupted them from within until all they can see is Israel as a demon state, and they are unable to talk about anything else happening in the world without first smearing Israel in the opening paragraph.

      ======================================
Tragic death in Cuxhaven – pre-sick child died shortly after second vaccination against coronavirus

In Cuxhaven, Lower Saxony, a tragic death is currently causing a stir. There, a twelve-year-old child is said to have died two days after the second vaccination against the coronavirus. First assumptions assume that this death is connected with the vaccination. Now an autopsy is to bring clarity.

Pre-sick child (12) died after Corona vaccination

This case could give the vaccination skeptics in Germany new food. Because now it is reported about the death of a child (12) who died only two days after his Corona second vaccination. Because the death of the child is in direct temporal connection to the vaccination, the responsible health office of the city requested the autopsy of the corpse. This was reported on Wednesday from the circle of the authority. Although the final report of the autopsy is not yet available, a preliminary protocol of the autopsy assumes that the death of the child is indeed related to the vaccination. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the Lankkreis in a statement. However, since the child had also suffered from other previous illnesses, another cause of death could not yet be completely ruled out, according to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf. Up-to-date one waited still for the results of the fine fabric examinations. On, Thursday then final results are expected.

Deaths of children and adolescents in connection with the vaccination are rare worldwide

Such deaths of children and adolescents in connection with the Corona vaccination are extremely rare. Since the start of vaccinations, there have been only 5 suspected cases in Germany in which children died between 2 and 24 days after a Corona vaccination. A total of 3 of the children also had severe pre-existing conditions. “We see ourselves confronted here with a particularly tragic case”, confirms Der Cuxhavener health authority boss Kai Dehne. Because side effects with deaths occur extremely rarely. “But the affected family hits it with all ruthlessness to one hundred percent. To the relatives belongs my deepest sympathy”, clarifies Dehne further. As it is said, the district has now published this case even without a final autopsy result, because in the social networks already rumors and assumptions are made regarding the incident.

    • GOP Senator Asks Walensky, Fauci If Someone Who Had COVID-19 Should Be Mandated To Get Vaccinated

At today’s Senate Health Committee hearing, Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) asked Dr. Anthony Fauci and CDC Director Rochelle Walensky about natural immunity.

      • As Biden Mandates Vaccines, CDC Director Walensky Stumbles When Asked How Many CDC Employees Are Vaccinated

The Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, had a difficult time with a direct question at her Congressional hearing on Thursday.

Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) grilled Walensky over what should have been a layup for an agency head that has put itself in charge of America’s Covid response.

“What percent of CDC employees are vaccinated?” Rep. Cassidy asked.

“We’re actively encouraging vaccination on all of our employees and doing a lot of education and outreach in order to get our agency fully vaccinated,’ she said, completely dodging the question.

“And the — but the percent?” he asked.

“I don’t have that for you today,” she admitted.

There you have it: The head of a government agency has unilaterally made itself an enforcer of the nation’s pandemic response can’t even follow its own vaccine guidance.

While there are claims that the U.S. Congress ‘exempted’ itself from the vaccine mandate, this is not entirely true. It is inherently exempt from the federal vaccine mandate issued via executive order due to the separation of powers. It nonetheless remains the nation’s most powerful leaders are not holding themselves accountable to the rules they are enforcing on American citizens.

The CDC recently recommended vaccines for children between the ages of 5 and 11, despite there being no significant Covid risk for that age demographic. The survival rate for that age demographic is approximately 99.99998%. There have been 95 children in that age group die with Covid (not necessarily from Covid), and an estimated 94% of those had serious comorbidities. Therefore, there have been approximately 5-6 children that died with Covid that cannot be attributed to underlying health conditions in 19 months out of a population cohort of around 24 million children. This is infinitesimal and statistically close to zero risk.

Furthermore, vaccines have not been shown to significantly slow the spread of the Delta variant, particularly with children. There are an estimated 160 million Americans in the U.S. with “natural immunity,” which the CDC refuses to recognize despite robust evidence of its efficacy versus the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Is there anything about the CDC that isn’t a fraud?

Germany is experiencing a “massive” pandemic of the unvaccinated, Health Minister Jens Spahn said Wednesday, calling for curbs targeting those not inoculated to tame a resurgence in Covid-19 cases.

The fourth wave is raging “with exceptional force”, Spahn said.

    • DEUTSCHE PRAVDA – Germany’s “pandemic of the unvaccinated”

Germany registered a record number of COVID-19 cases on Thursday, breaking a record set in December 2020. Disease control agency the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 33,949 new infections in a single day.

The news came one day after Health Minister Jens Spahn declared that Germany was living in a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” and that the fourth wave of the virus was “in full force” across the country.

What is the situation for hospitals and vaccines?

As Germany’s vaccination program lags behind other European countries, Spahn also warned that those unwilling to get vaccinated could face new restrictions, such as being barred from shops and restaurants.

Recent figures from the RKI show that only 66.5% of Germans are fully vaccinated, compared to 88% in Portugal and 81% in Spain.

Hospitals were also beginning to buckle under the pressure as the number of intensive care beds filled up, largely populated by the unvaccinated.

On Wednesday night, the rate of hospitalizations per 100,000 residents over 7 days, the German government’s new key statistic to measure the severity of the pandemic, rose to 3.62 up from 3.29 just the day before.

So the decision by Boris Johnson to use his parliamentary majority to disregard an independent report into serious misconduct by one of his MPs and, worse still, to overturn the system, is deeply troubling.”

“Paterson has been found in breach of House of Commons rules prohibiting paid advocacy. On multiple occasions he was found to have used his influence to secure meetings with government agencies and departments to argue for a testing regime which might have benefited companies for which he was a paid consultant, and from whom he receives over £100,000 a year. His position is that he was worried about the issue of antibiotics in milk. But that is mitigation, not defence.”

“The issue might have been quietly settled had not the proposed punishment for his actions been a one-month suspension, which could have exposed him to a recall motion and a by-election. At this point his friends in the media and the party leapt into action, denouncing the parliamentary commissioner even though her findings were unanimously endorsed by the all-party Standards and Privileges committee (which also includes outside lay members) which described his breaches as “egregious”.

“On Wednesday, Downing Street ordered Tory MPs to block the sanction, create a new committee with an inbuilt Conservative majority to look at reforming the process and delay a decision on Paterson until that work is concluded.”

Nepotism and Scum come to mind when people trade and abuse their political Offices.

However, Briebart has a completely opposite take:

” Officially, Paterson is being punished because he brought parliament into disrepute by lobbying on behalf of two companies which together pay him over £100,000 a year.

Paterson’s defence is that when he mentioned these companies’ names in the course of parliamentary questions he was not lobbying but raising vital points of public interest.

“What happened to me is wicked and shameful,” he said in an interview with Nigel Farage on GB News. And when you learn the details, you may be inclined to agree. What makes his story especially poignant is that the trauma of the investigation was partly responsible for the suicide last year of his beloved wife Rose.”

  9. WaPo- Igor Danchenko, source for Steele dossier, arrested as part of Durham probe

An analyst who was a primary source for a 2016 dossier of allegations against Donald Trump has been arrested on charges stemming out of special counsel John Durham’s probe of that matter, a spokesman for Durham said.

Igor Danchenko’s role in providing information to British ex-spy Christopher Steele, who compiled the accusations about Trump in a series of reports, has long been a subject of investigators’ scrutiny.

Trump and his supporters have accused senior FBI officials of conducting a partisan effort to discredit him, while the FBI’s defenders say the agency was obligated to examine allegations of Russian interference and possible collusion with the Trump campaign during the presidential election.

Durham’s probe into that FBI investigation has also led to an indictment of a lawyer connected to Democrats, on a charge he lied to the FBI.

The charges against Danchenko were not immediately known, though they are expected to be unsealed later Thursday, according to people familiar with the matter. The arrest was first reported by the New York Times.

NYT – Authorities Arrest Analyst Who Contributed to Steele Dossier

Igor Danchenko, a Russia analyst who worked with Christopher Steele, the author of a dossier of rumors and unproven assertions about Donald J. Trump, was taken into custody as part of the Durham investigation.

WASHINGTON — Federal authorities on Thursday arrested an analyst who in 2016 gathered leads about possible links between Donald J. Trump and Russia for what turned out to be Democratic-funded opposition research, according to people familiar with the matter.

The arrest of the analyst, Igor Danchenko, is part of the special counsel inquiry led by John H. Durham, who was appointed by the Trump administration to scrutinize the Russia investigation for any wrongdoing, the people said.

Mr. Danchenko, was the primary researcher of the so-called Steele dossier, a compendium of rumors and unproven assertions suggesting that Mr. Trump and his 2016 campaign were compromised by and conspiring with Russian intelligence officials in Moscow’s covert operation to help him defeat Hillary Clinton.

The people familiar with the matter spoke on condition of anonymity because the indictment of Mr. Danchenko had yet to be unsealed. A spokesman for Mr. Durham did not respond to a request for comment.

Some claims from the Steele dossier made their way into an F.B.I. wiretap application targeting a former Trump campaign adviser in October 2016. Other portions of it — particularly a salacious claim about a purported sex tape — caused a political and media firestorm when Buzzfeed published the materials in January 2017, shortly before Mr. Trump was sworn in.

But most of the important claims in the dossier — which was written by Mr. Danchenko’s employer, Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence agent — have not been proven, and some have been refuted. F.B.I. agents interviewed Mr. Danchenko in 2017 when they were seeking to run down the claims in the dossier.

The interview suggested that aspects of the dossier were misleading: Mr. Steele left unclear that much of the material was thirdhand information, and some of what Mr. Danchenko — who was born in Russia but lives in the United States — had relayed was more speculative than the dossier implied.

A 2019 investigation by the Justice Department’s inspector general sharply criticized the F.B.I. for continuing to cite material from the dossier after the bureau interviewed Mr. Danchenko without alerting judges that some of what he said had cast doubt on the contents of the dossier.

The inspector general report also said that a decade earlier, when Mr. Danchenko worked for the Brookings Institution, a prominent Washington think-tank, he had been the subject of a counterintelligence investigation into whether he was a Russian agent.

In an interview with The New York Times in 2020, Mr. Danchenko defended the integrity of his work, saying he had been tasked to gather “raw intelligence” and was simply passing it on to Mr. Steele. Mr. Danchenko — who made his name as a Russia analyst by exposing indications that the dissertation of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia contained plagiarized material — also denied being a Russian agent.

“I’ve never been a Russian agent,” Mr. Danchenko said. “It is ridiculous to suggest that. This, I think, it’s slander.”

Mr. Steele’s efforts were part of opposition research that Democrats were indirectly funding by the time the 2016 general election took shape. Mr. Steele’s business intelligence firm was a subcontractor to another research firm, Fusion GPS, which in turn had been hired by the Perkins Coie law firm, which was working for the Hillary Clinton campaign.

Mr. Danchenko said he did not know who Mr. Steele’s client was at the time and considered himself a nonpartisan analyst and researcher.

Mr. Durham has been known to be interested in Mr. Danchenko and the Steele dossier saga. In February, he used a subpoena to obtain old personnel files and other documents related to Mr. Danchenko from the Brookings Institution, where Mr. Danchenko had worked from 2005 until 2010.

The charges against Mr. Danchenko follow Mr. Durham’s indictment in September of a cybersecurity lawyer, Michael Sussmann, which accused him of lying to the F.B.I. about who he was working for when he brought concerns about possible Trump-Russia links to the bureau in September 2016.

Mr. Sussmann, who then also worked for Perkins Coie, was relaying concerns developed by data scientists about odd internet logs they said suggested the possibility of a covert communications channel between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank, a Kremlin-linked financial institution. He has denied lying to the F.B.I. about who he was working for.

Hamburg: After gang rape, 12 suspects remain at large

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FDQlHZZXIAcSQUe?format=jpg

(Caption: Twelve young men raped a 15-year-old girl in Hamburg’s Stadtpark in September 2020. The perpetrators include two 21-year-old black men, described as “Hamburgers” by the Bild newspaper.)

About a year ago, twelve “young men” – the youngest is 17, the oldest are 21 years old – raped a 15-year-old girl in the Hamburg city park. For two and a half hours.

The Hamburg State Criminal Police Office spent around 14 months investigating intensively. Apartments were also searched and cell phones confiscated. Now it has emerged that the Hamburg public prosecutor’s office responsible for the case has so far issued only one arrest warrant; but this suspect has been released after a short period in custody.

What’s more, apparently most of the juvenile offenders have not even been questioned – partly because of completely obscure new EU guidelines for adolescents. All the perpetrators are on the loose. Among them are two so-called intensive offenders.

    Ominous role of EU guidelines

A court date is a long way off. Although the evidence against the alleged rapists is apparently overwhelming. A spokeswoman for the Hamburg public prosecutor’s office now stated on the current status of the investigation: “We are now examining whether to press charges, and if so, on what grounds.” The Bild-Zeitung commented on the statement with one word: “Unbelievable!”

Some media – such as Focus, NDR and t-online – are reporting on the current statement by the public prosecutor’s office, but they are keeping quiet about the ethnicity of the suspects. According to AfD’s findings, at least ten of the alleged rapists are migrants.

    What happened a year ago?

The city park facilities in the Hanseatic city comprise a huge area with large meadows and larger forest areas. In this city park, “which makes body and soul healthy” (NDR), the raped girl had celebrated a birthday with friends and acquaintances, but later lost her connection to the group. Therefore, the minor wandered alone through the parks. There she came across a group of young men between the ages of 17 and 21. These men apparently quickly recognized the helpless condition of the girl, they pulled the victim into the bushes and abused her several times in succession.

Before the men fled, they also allegedly robbed the girl. Thus, her cell phone, monthly card and purse were stolen. With great chutzpah, the alleged perpetrators even tried to sell the stolen goods in the city park immediately after the rapes.

Two blacks, one Pole and eight other migrants were involved.

Police investigators have identified twelve suspects, including two twin brothers. The alleged perpetrators include two 21-year-old black men, described by the Bild newspaper as Hamburgers. One of the blacks is named James M., allegedly an apprentice. Arsen K. (19), a Pole, is also said to have filmed the acts.

According to a report in the Hamburger Abendblatt, other suspected rapists are: Amirhossein N. (17), Hasan A. (20) and Arvin A. (20). They are said to have abused the girl in a first phase. Then Ahmed F. (21), Djulian A. (19) and Tom M. (20) were phoned in, and in a second phase they abused the minor.

According to information of the Bild editorial office, investigators of the LKA have found nine foreign DNA traces on the body of the 15-year-old, which are to be assigned to the suspects.

    Crude explanations by the judiciary

Nevertheless, the senior public prosecutor in charge, Liddy Oechtering, has stated that so far there is no urgent suspicion of the crime or any other reason for detention, such as danger of flight or collusion. Kai Wantzen, the court spokesman, has a telling comment on this: In general, “pre-trial detention for juveniles is subject to particularly strict requirements.”

According to Hamburg’s public prosecutor’s office, which is under the control of the controversial Green justice senator Anna Gallina, DNA traces do not yet say anything about a suspect’s possible guilt.

EU directives: Interrogations of “adolescents” often impossible

The fact that, according to information from the Hamburger Abendblatt, almost all of the suspects have not even been questioned by the police so far is apparently due in no small part to the European Parliament, which passed a “children’s directive” by a majority vote in 2019.

This directive states that police officers may not question juveniles and adolescents without a defense lawyer being present. Ludicrously, this even applies to cases in which statements would exonerate the person concerned.

The problem is that the appointment of a public defender is time-consuming, since the public prosecutor’s office and the competent court must be involved and the defender must first be granted access to the files. Thus, investigations are often dragged out in a “criminal” manner by young suspects – and their potential defense attorneys.

“In the name of the people”?

Judge Thorsten Schleif (Dinslaken District Court), who published the book “A judge uncovers why our justice fails” in 2019, criticized the decisions of his Hamburg colleagues, but formulated his criticism rather cautiously: “If the public prosecutor’s office brings charges of rape, it must accept the reproach of not having applied for an arrest warrant against all twelve.”

In theory, judges and prosecutors are supposed to do their work “in the name of the people. In practice, however, large parts of the judiciary today tend to work on the basis of their individual, distinctly left-leaning legal philosophy. This “progressive” legal ideology, which is considerably strengthened by institutions of the EU, has a lot of sympathy for the perpetrators – especially when they are migrants.

The interests of the victims, on the other hand, too often fall by the wayside. A “constitutional state” thus develops into a state of injustice.

    • Who’d want to be third or fourth or tenth in line to put his thing inside there?
Even being sufficiently aroused to get it in there…
Is that a form of adolescent play common to other primate species?

  12. Israel’s Minister of Aliyah Tamano-Shata Asks PM to Fast-Track Evacuation of Ethiopian Jews as Civil War Escalates

Israel’s Minister of Aliyah Pnina Tamano-Shata sent an official letter to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett asking him to expedite the immigration of Ethiopian Jews currently waiting to be brought to Israel, in light of the escalating civil war in the African country….

[T]he prospective immigrants are located in Addis Ababa and Gondar, and are in serious danger due to the deteriorating security situation. The country’s military has lost several recent battles to Tigray rebels, who are threatening to storm the capital, and a state of emergency has been declared…

The majority of the Jews waiting to be evacuated are members of the Falash Mura community, and already have family members in Israel.

She also said that Jews living in the northern Tigray region are suffering persecution due to their faith, and that chances are high that the security situation there will further deteriorate.

“Their families in Israel are finding it difficult to communicate with them and help them economically in this difficult hour of crisis,” she said. “Every day of waiting is likely to exact a high cost in lives from the Jewish community in Ethiopia.”

  13. MEMRI:
Hamas Official Urges China to “Stay Away” from Israel: Relations Might Threaten China’s Interests

Mousa Abu Marzouk, the Deputy Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, said in a video that was uploaded by the Asia Monitor YouTube channel on October 30, 2021 that China should “stay away” from Israel.

Abu Marzouk was speaking at a conference about China and the Palestinian cause that was organized by the Istanbul-based Asia Middle East Forum, in which various Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated organization participated. He said that relations between Israel and China might have short-term benefits but will eventually become a “source of concern and a threat” to China’s interests.

Abu Marzouk also said that Israel stands in “stark contrast” to everything China stands for and is “racially and existentially attached” to “colonial powers” that are hostile to the Chinese “awakening.” He added that the Palestinians share “unlimited interests” with China, and that the Palestinians are looking forward to strengthening their relations with the CCP.
