Reader’s Links for October 30, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. – Just in time for the fake Climate Crisis –

What a wonderful thing it was therefore to read Patrick Moore’s recent book, ‘Fake invisible catastrophes and threats of doom’ ISBN-85685955-0-2 published by Ecosense Environmental Inc.

The wonderful aspect is that here is a person with impeccable environmental credentials stretching way back to the start of the global warming scare, and beyond, who reveals a story of conversion.

Having been a co-founder of Greenpeace itself, and a member of its governing board for many years, Moore’s commitment to a healthy environment is beyond rational dispute. He has however changed his mind from the position touted by the organisation he once helped to form and nurture in its early years.

He changed by a process of intellectual and scientific enquiry where he has researched the claims and emotion-laden statements about the state of the planet and the role of carbon dioxide plays. He simply finds the evidence for catastrophe lacking. Indeed, he finds the exact opposite to be the truth.

    • I’ve actually been to Tasis, the hometown of Patrick Moore. All I remember is a row of portable workers-housing and a few buildings and a sort of Bank of Montreal – oh, and a small dock. Then everything else is just forest so thick that you virtually cannot go through it. When you look up “environmentalist” in the encyclopedia you find a picture of Dr. Patrick Moore…

  2. The existence of a mysterious brain disease questioned by New Brunswick health official. health Minister, Dorothy Shephard, told a news conference Wednesday, that an epidemiological study of 48 cases of the illness did not find any evidence of a common exposure that could have triggered a potentially new neurological syndrome. instead, she said, provincial health officials believe many of those cases may have been misclassified by a single neurologist working in the province.

For months, New Brunswickers have been anxious to learn more about a cluster of patients with symptoms similar to Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, including memory loss , balance problems and hallucinations- – all supposedly associated with an unknown brain disorder.

I wonder if any or all have been vaccinated. Did the health officials ask, others have reported deaths from Creutzfeldt after being vaccinated.

    • I forget where I had this conversation exactly, but someone presented news links to me showing me that a HUGE number of rabies vaccines wrapped in maple syrup and marshmallows were left in the woods for deer to eat in that region.

The vaccines where made in part from sheep brains.

So the issue is vaccine related, but not covid. Its mad cow, from sheep brains, eaten by deer, who were then poached and sold illegally to area restaurants, and eaten by the locals.

That is the best data we have so far.

The following is logically awful and in a way kind of stupid. But it remains factual:

You won’t hear this story on that on CBC because its true. Also because the poachers of the deer may be from a protected group.

    • CBC – N.B. health officials suggest mysterious brain illness may not exist

After months of silence, New Brunswick health officials say a mysterious brain illness that has affected 48 people, nine of whom died, may not exist.

They point to autopsies that reveal the cause of eight of the nine deaths were misdiagnosed, but others say it’s too soon to come to any firm conclusion about the illness.

    • New Brunswick update on unknown neurological disease – October 27, 2021

      ( 1 hour 40 min )

In Fredericton, Dorothy Shephard, New Brunswick’s minister of health, Dr. Natalie Banville, vice-president of medical affairs for Vitalité Health Network, and Dr. Susan Brien, vice-president of medical, academic and research affairs for Horizon Health Network, provide an update on the potential neurological syndrome first detected in the province in March.

An epidemiological report has ruled out food or environmental exposures as a common factor in cases.

The syndrome, which has been identified as having no known cause, produced symptoms similar to Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, a rare and fatal brain disease.

Supporters of the far-right Islamic political party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) protested in Karachi on Friday to demand the expulsion of the French ambassador over the publication of cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad.

One of the protesters, Saleem Qadri, said, “The country (France) insulted our master and beloved Prophet at the state level. We want the fulfillment and implementation of the agreement made with us by the government of Pakistan in the parliament.”

The protest was also held against the imprisonment of party’s leader Khadim Hussain Rizvi.

The latest protest by the group comes just a few days after a similar in Lahore during which four police officers were killed and hundreds injured during clashes with Pakistani security forces.

SOT, Saleem Qadri, Protester (Urdu): “The country (France) insulted our master and beloved Prophet at the state level. We want the fulfillment and implementation of the agreement made with us by the government of Pakistan in the parliament.”

SOT, Saleem Qadri, Protester (Urdu): “State terrorism took place on the grand Labeek Ya Rasoolullah Namo Rasalat march coming out of Lahore. The oppression reached the extreme. We are protesting against this today using our legal and constitutional right.”

Taliban pledge mega gas pipeline project’s security in Afghanistan

Assurance comes after acting defense minister and Turkmenistan’s top diplomat meet in Kabul to discuss TAPI, bilateral ties

Mawlawi Muhammad Yaqub, the acting Taliban defense minister in the interim Afghanistan administration, said on Saturday that he has taken direct charge of security for the multibillion-dollar TAPI (Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India) gas pipeline project.

Yaqub, the son of the Taliban’s founding leader, Mullah Omar, made the comment following a meeting with Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, who arrived in Kabul in the morning for talks on the project and bilateral relations with Afghanistan.

“I am directly responsible for and overseeing the security of the TAPI project. We will not hesitate to make any sacrifices for the implementation of this national project,” Yaqoob tweeted after meeting with Turkmenistan’s top diplomat at the presidential palace in the capital.

The visiting Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan also met with Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, acting prime minister of the Taliban’s interim administration at his office.

“During the meeting, both sides discussed bolstering relations, economic, trade, security, and humanitarian assistance,” said Zabihullah Mujahed, the Taliban spokesman and deputy minister for information and culture.

[…]The mega project, which connects energy-rich Central Asia with energy-starved South Asia via Afghanistan, was envisioned in the 1990s and practical work on it began in 2015.

In line with this $10 billion project, up to 33 billion cubic meters of gas would be carried from the Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan to the town of Fazilka in Indian Punjab via the 1,814-kilometer pipeline passing through Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Afghanistan is expected to earn $500 million annually from this project.

Alongside TAP, another project named the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan 500 kilovolts Line (TAP-500) will transfer Turkmenistan’s electricity to Pakistan through Afghanistan. This project would also generate $110 million annually as transit-free for the country. Kabul and Ashgabat have also agreed to build a 13-kilometer railway link between the two countries.

    • global news – Why getting the world vaccinated is key to leaving the pandemic behind

Talk of vaccines is fairly consistent in countries like Canada or the U.K., but there are still many countries that are not even close to talking about being fully vaccinated, let alone booster shots.

Some countries are struggling to get even first doses of the vaccine to their citizens. But experts say variants, like those that spurred the third and fourth waves, are still a threat in places where there is uncontrolled spread of the virus and that happens when you don’t have widespread access to vaccines.

As Katherine Ward explains, experts say until there is global vaccine equity, the pandemic will not be over.

Two nurses in B.C., who have not been vaccinated for COVID-19, are speaking out over concerns that the province’s vaccine mandate for health-care workers could have a huge impact on patient care.

Both women say they are waiting for more scientific data on the vaccine, but the fact they’ve been put on unpaid leave despite offering to get daily testing and temperature checks has left them in shock.

The vaccine mandate has resulted in roughly 1,300 health-care staff in the province’s Interior Health region being put on leave and it has the nurses concerned what it will mean for patients.

    • ctv news – LTC studies suggest antibodies from vaccines wane much faster in seniors: Task Force report

TORONTO — COVID-19 antibodies wane much faster than expected among seniors and those with comorbidities, according to the latest research on long-term care residents funded by the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force (CITF).

The findings, they say, reinforce policy decisions and recommendations around providing booster shots to vulnerable populations.

The summary report, based on the results from seven CITF-funded studies, comes as the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) expanded its eligibility guidelines on Friday to include, among other groups, those aged 70 and over. Some of the CITF-funded research results support previous studies with similar findings.

The CITF, which includes experts from universities across Canada, Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam, NACI, and provincial and territorial representatives, was launched by the Canadian government in April 2020. The organization helps support, harmonize, and implement research studies and co-ordinates with leading scientists, decision makers, hospitals, communities and other partners across Canada.

The report said that the studies, which included one from the University of Toronto, consistently demonstrated that the quantity of antibodies from mRNA vaccines fell more quickly than expected in older populations compared with younger individuals, especially among those living in long-term care homes. Another study from the University of Toronto and one out of Montreal also found longer dosing intervals had a neutral or positive effect on the amount of antibody produced after the second dose.

All seven studies looked at antibody levels of those who received a two-dose regimen of an mRNA vaccine and found that Moderna and Pfizer were both “very effective at inducing antibodies after the second dose.”

But three of the studies, one out of McMaster University, another from Montreal, and a third from the Bruyere Institute, found that Moderna produced better results. One research project found the quantity of antibodies produced after a Moderna shot was higher and lasted longer, while another found that antibody levels decreased significantly faster in long-term care residents after a first dose of Pfizer compared to Moderna. A third study saw a stronger immune response among older Moderna recipients.

The Montreal study was also able to show that the serologic response four weeks after the second dose was comparable across all three types of mRNA regimens — two doses of Moderna or Pfizer, or a mix and match of both.

Several studies also reinforced existing data that showed age and comorbidities as major factors in the effectiveness of the vaccines.

The report did note that while it is clear antibody levels eventually wane, there are other factors that also determine a person’s immunity, and that antibody levels alone do not give an accurate picture of a person’s ability to fight infection.

“That said, the antibody wane in LTC residents and older Canadians living in the community is so significant compared to younger, healthier Canadians, that a third dose is certainly a safer approach to avoid more deaths and sickness,” the report noted, adding that the results also illustrated the importance of having all long-term care staff vaccinated.

“The third dose may help, but some residents may still not mount an adequate long-term antibody response and therefore other protection measures in LTC homes continue to be of the utmost importance.”

the gateway pundit – Waterford, Ireland Exposes Covid Vaccine as a Fraud

What do you call a city where 99.7 percent of adults over the age of 18 (as registered in the last census) are fully vaccinated but now fighting one of the highest Covid-19 infection rate in their nation? You call it Waterford, Ireland.

Waterford City’s south electoral area has a 14-day incidence rate of 1,486 cases per 100,000 of the population, three times the national average which stands at 493 infections per 100,000 people.

This is a damning indictment of the validity and reliability of the Covid-19 vaccine taken by this community. A genuine vaccine is supposed to protect you against being infected by the virus the vaccine was created to stop. Tell that to the sick folk in Waterford.

But Waterford is not alone in seeing the vaccine fail to protect those vaccinated from the ravages of the Covid virus.

A recent study in Israel found that vaccinated people were 13 times as likely to be infected – and 7 times as likely to be hospitalized – as unvaccinated people with natural immunity. It concluded:

This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity. Individuals who were both previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 and given a single dose of the vaccine gained additional protection against the Delta variant.

      Alex Berenson is reporting that:

The British government is warning that people who receive the vaccines appear to have a less complete immune response to Sars-Cov-2 after infection.

Maybe even more concerning, scientists now have found evidence the vaccines may produce worrisome longer-term changes in the immune system.

The Covid vaccine is not working as predicted nor as advertised. Instead of bringing health, the vaccine appears to be facilitating more pervasive infections of Covid variants. We know that many will not take any more shots. The Pharma companies are liars as are many of our so-called public health figures. Many no longer trust anything the CDC reports and the FDA had already proved itself to be a corrupted institution beholden to the pharmaceutical industry. If you have Hulu, check out the new series, DOPESICK. DOPESICK tells the story of how Purdue Pharma created and sustained the oxycontin plague that has killed more than 500,000:

Purdue admits it illegally and misleadingly marketed its opioids, including “to more than 100 health care providers whom the company had good reason to believe were diverting opioids” for misuse; illegally paid doctors to prescribe more opioids; and took part in other fraudulent and illegal practices. Purdue says it did all of this between 2007 and at least 2017 — after a separate guilty plea in 2007 forced the company to pay more than $600 million in fines.

So what does the FDA have to do with Oxy? A Senior FDA bureaucrat signed off on labeling Oxy as “non-addictive” and expedited its move to the market.

Curtis Wright, once a director at the US Food and Drug Administration who oversaw evaluation for pain medication, got a position with a first-year compensation package of $400,000 at Purdue Pharma a year after he led the approval of OxyContin, according to the book “Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty” by Patrick Radden Keefe.

Yet none of the people at either the FDA nor Purdue went to jail for lying about Oxy. Now the FDA is signing off on vaccines for kids. Looks like the Covid vaccine bonanza is deja vu all over again, only more widespread than oxycontin.

Video: Up to 500,000 Afghans could flee by year-end – UNHCR (France 24)

UN agency warns of ‘imminent’ famine in Afghanistan
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/un-agency-warns-of-imminent-famine-in-afghanistan/ar-AAOOvTl
Afghanistan is at risk of “imminent hunger” with winter approaching and services disrupted by the return to power of the Taliban, a UN official warned in an interview with AFP.
Natalia Kanem, director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), said via video that the situation in the country was dire.
“It would not be an exaggeration to say” that at least a third of Afghanistan’s population of around 33 million is affected by “imminent hunger,” Kanem warned.
Harsh winters, disrupting the ability to transport supplies to isolated areas of the mountainous country, plus the coronavirus pandemic will aggravate an already complicated situation, she added.
“There is a lot of anxiety over how we’re going to deliver health care, where the next meal is going to come from,” Kanem told AFP from the UNFPA headquarters in New York.
The doctor from Panama warned that women and girls would bear the worst of it.
“It is urgent, for women and girls in particular who were already suffering. This is one of the countries with the highest death during childbirth and pregnancy rates.
“We cannot underscore enough that even during a transitional period, women and girls have human rights and these are to be respected,” she said.
Kanem repeated calls made by the international community to the Taliban, who swept to power last month as the United States withdrew its last troops, ending Washington’s 20-year war there.
“The women of Afghanistan have made clear over years that they want their education, they want their health care, and that they’re also ready, willing and able to design programs and to be able to lead in their communities,” she said.
Taliban leaders have tried to portray the group as more moderate than when it last ran Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001. Then, women were banned from school or work and only allowed to leave home with a male chaperone.
They have promised to change, saying they will respect women’s rights within the framework of Islamic sharia law, but many remain sceptical.
But not a single woman was appointed to the provisional government and the Islamists seem to be incrementally stripping away Afghans’ freedoms.
Kanem notes that in a country ravaged by decades of conflict, many women, particularly in areas most affected by violence, are the sole breadwinners.
“We’re all anxiously hoping that there will be regularity and ability of delivery of goods” to people in small communities where many of the UNPFA’s staff are women, she said.
“We have said that we want to be able to maintain a functioning health system.
“(It’s) pretty challenging right now with the airport having been closed, with certain professionals who have left the country,” Kanem added.
She warned that if the health system breaks down, that’s going to spell “complete disaster,” but added that for the most part the agency’s family health centers have remained open.
The UN on Wednesday released $45 million in emergency aid to support Afghanistan’s health system.

  7. Oct 27, 2021 ‘They are dying’ – calls for Prime Minister to address Afghanistan’s famine
Boris Johnson said the UK could not write a blank cheque for aid while the Taliban were in control.
    https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/uk-news/2021/10/27/they-are-dying–calls-for-prime-minister-to-address-afghanistans-famine/
The UK cannot write a “blank cheque” for aid in Afghanistan while the Taliban are in control, the Prime Minister has said after being pressed to address the famine now facing Afghans.
Boris Johnson also faced angry calls of “answer the question!” from the SNP’s Westminster leader Ian Blackford, who asked for details of how the 20,000 Afghans promised resettlement in the UK in coming years would be helped to reach the country.
At Prime Minister’s Questions ahead of the Budget statement on Wednesday, Mr Blackford said: “Before we turn to domestic matters I think it is right and important to raise the dire humanitarian situation that is developing in Afghanistan.”
The Ross, Skye and Lochaber MP cited UN statistics that suggested more than half the Afghan population or “about 22.8 million people” face acute food insecurity, and that “3.2 million children under five could suffer acute malnutrition”.
Mr Blackford said: “They are dying and they need our help. It is only two months since the allied forces relinquished control of the country, so can the Prime Minister update us on what his Government is doing to end the famine in Afghanistan?”
Boris Johnson replied that the Government had doubled its in-year aid commitment to £286m, but added: “What we can’t do at the moment is write a completely blank cheque to the Taliban government, Taliban authorities, we need to ensure that that country does not slip back into being a haven for terrorism and a narco-state.”
Blackford countered that Mr Johnson had given no details of “tangible actions” his Government was taking, and asked for the latest information on the Afghan Citizen Resettlement Scheme announced in August.
“The Afghan people are being left with no updates and vague targets,” said Mr Blackford, “so can the Prime Minister finally tell us when the resettlement scheme will open, and can he guarantee that 20,000 Afghans will be resettled and when exactly is the deadline for that to happen?”
Mr Johnson said 15,000 people had been flown out of Afghanistan during the evacuation of Kabul and were now settling in the UK.
He added: “We continue to engage, we engage with the Taliban, this country was one of the first to reach out and begin a dialogue and what we are insisting on is safe passage.”
Mr Blackford called out: “Just answer the question!”
Mr Johnson concluded: “Just to get to his point – which he rather uncivilly calls out – what we are insisting on is there is safe passage for those who wish to come and settle in this country to whom we owe an obligation and that is what we are doing, and I have answered the question.”

  8. October 2, 2021 Mali’s plan for Russia mercenaries to replace French troops unsettles Sahel
    https://citinewsroom.com/2021/10/malis-plan-for-russia-mercenaries-to-replace-french-troops-unsettles-sahel/
There is deep international concern over Mali’s discussions with the controversial Russian private military company, the Wagner group, but many Malians feel the Russians cannot replace French troops soon enough.
The group was first identified in 2014 when it was backing pro-Russian separatists in the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Since then, it has been involved in countries including Syria, Mozambique, Sudan, Libya and the Central African Republic.
Back in 2013, there was a jubilant welcome for the French soldiers when they arrived in Mali after Islamist militants had hijacked a rebellion and threatened to seize control of the whole country.
But President Emmanuel Macron recently said the 5,000-strong French contingent would be reduced by half, prompting Mali’s Prime Minister Choguel Maiga to accuse France of abandoning his country.
This in turn sparked a furious response from France, with Armed Forces Minister Florence Parly accusing Mali’s government of “wiping your feet on the blood of French soldiers”.
President Macron said he was “shocked” at the accusation, condemning Mali’s military government, which he said had no “democratic legitimacy” following two coups in less than a year.
But public opinion in Mali has undoubtedly turned against the presence of troops from the former colonial power.
Eight years after the French arrived, the security crisis has spread to Burkina Faso and Niger, with numerous different groups, some linked to al-Qaeda or the Islamic State group, roaming the region from their bases in the Sahara Desert.
About 55 French soldiers and several hundreds of Malians have been killed.
Enraged by the deepening insecurity, Malians hold regular protests against the French military and accuse them of failing to make any difference in the fight against the jihadists. They call the presence of French soldiers an occupation, and demand their speedy exit.
Many are happy for the Russians to replace them.
    ‘Russia is more neutral’
Oumar Cissé, a prominent peace campaigner in the restive Mopti region, said Russia was a historical partner of the Malian army.
“Russia has no interest in Malian politics unlike France, which manages the conflict according to its economic and political interests,” he told the BBC.
Some activists say the presence of the French forces itself was a catalyst of the jihadist violence. France has long opposed negotiations with jihadists, an option favoured by some Malians.
There have been no public protests against Russia but public opinion towards the proposed intervention from Wagner is divided.
The Coordination of the Movements of the Azawad (CMA), a coalition of former Arab and Tuareg rebels in northern Mali, said working with the Russians would be a threat to their 2015 peace deal.
The international consternation over a deal with Wagner is linked to the shadowy reputation of the mercenary organisation. The Russian government’s denial of links to the group is also treated with suspicion.
However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has confirmed that Mali had “turned to a private military company from Russia” to help fight jihadist groups.
In Africa, Wagner operatives are reported to have dubious involvement in the Central African Republic (CAR), where some of the Russian military instructors backing the beleaguered government are believed to be mercenaries. They are also linked to war crimes in Libya’s civil war.
Russia entered the fray in CAR in 2017 as part of efforts to expand its influence across the continent. It gave the African country weapons, ammunition and 175 military instructors.
The British foreign office described the Wagner group as “a driver of conflict” and said it “capitalises on instability for its own interests, as we have seen in other countries affected by conflict such as Libya and the Central African Republic”.
If the deal with Mali does go ahead, it would signal a major expansion of Russia’s military interests in Africa and a strategic setback for the West. The deployment of Russian military contractors would signal a profound break with France and the West.
French Minister Ms Parly warned that “we will not be able to cohabit with mercenaries”. She later accused the Malian prime minister of “hypocrisy, bad faith and indecency” after he said his administration was not consulted on the drawdown of the French mission, Operation Barkhane.
Germany and Estonia, whose forces serve under a Mali-based European force called Takuba, have also threatened to pull out their soldiers.
The West African regional bloc Ecowas strongly denounced the plan to hire private security companies.
Cherif Mahamat Zene, the foreign minister of Chad, which has played a vital role in fighting Islamist groups across West Africa, said the rebels who killed former President Idriss Deby in April were trained by the Wagner group and warned against their intervention.
    Russian helicopters arrive
In the face of rising public anger against France, the choice of Russia has been easy. Mali and Russia have maintained close ties in recent years, especially since 1994 when they signed a defence cooperation agreement which was revised in 2019.
Defence Minister Sadio Camara and some leading members of Mali’s junta were trained in Russia.
On Thursday, he welcomed the arrival of four military helicopters from Russia, which he described as “a friendly country with which Mali has always maintained a very fruitful partnership”. He said this was part of a deal agreed in December 2020 – long before the French drawdown was announced.
The Russian involvement could also be a convenient excuse for Mali’s interim government to extend its term in office, following the military takeover in May.
Debate has been raging over whether the country’s ruler, Col Assimi Goïta, will honour a pledge to hold a referendum on a new constitution on 31 October and general elections on 21 February 2021.
Prime Minister Maiga has said elections could be postponed.
A military partnership between Mali and its neighbours to tackle jihadist groups in the region, the G5-Sahel states, could also come under strain.
Niger’s Foreign Minister, Hassoumi Massaoudou, said the alliance would “certainly” collapse if Mali hired the Wagner group.
Whether or not the Russians are sent to Mali, jihadist groups, which recently celebrated the exit of the US from Afghanistan and drew parallels with the French drawdown in West Africa, could seek to exploit the instability and scale up their attacks, prompting a fresh crisis in Mali, and its neighbours.

  12. THREE KILLED IN MASS PROTESTS SUPPORTING SUDAN’S DEMOCRATIC TRANSITION
    https://sudantribune.com/article222634/
Three people were killed and dozens wounded by Sudanese security forces following mass protests calling to restore a transitional government in the capital and many states across the country.
As expected Sudanese massively went to the street on Saturday chanting slogans against the military coup such as we want a civilian rule, a setback is impossible and the street is stronger, freedom for Hamdok.
The protests which were organized by the spearhead of December 2019 Sudanese Professional Association (SPA) also called for the resignation of Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
The Sudanese military authorities closed the bridges linking the capital’s three towns to prevent the posters from pouring into the strategic sites in Khartoum.
During the first hours, there were no security forces to ^break up the protests. Later, the anti riots forces were launched to disperse the demonstrators.
Medical reports from the Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors speak about injuries due to tear gas canister or stick hits.
However, the CCSD said that three protesters were killed by gunshots in Omdurman and three others were injured by live ammunition.
The police authorities immediately reacted denying opening fire on the protesters saying its forces were not armed and just used tear gas to disperse the protesters.
The police statement suggests that another party shot live rounds at protesters.
Due to the internet restrictions, there were few reports about the protests in the other states. Only Al-Jazeera TV teams were able to cover the protests in Khartoum using satellite phones.
Sudanese Diaspora also organised protests to condemn the military takeover and called for the reinstatement of the civilian-led transitional government.
Demonstrations in support of the democratic transition in Sudan took place in several states in the U.S., and European countries.
Al-Tom Hajo a leading member of the FFC National Accord vowed to organize rallies in support of the military takeover.

    • The “civilian govt” is MB.
      The “coup” is military.
Arab Spring-Part 2. The *Biden* team isn’t wasting time. They’ve enlisted Qatar-media and the MB-controlled MSM.

The perception in the West that democracy is the best form of govt universally is off base in much of the world. Islamists know that democracy is a bus; you reach your destination, and get off.

In the Mideast the most stable states are run along tribal lines or by the military. The UAE is an example of the first, which could be a model for an eventual autonomous “Palestine”. Tribal alliances are organic; they make more sense than artificial nation-states created by Western cartographers.

The military has always been the most forward-looking segment of the Turkish establishment.
That’s what kept kept reactionary autocrats in check.

It was General el-Sisi who kicked out the heinous Morsi, the democratically elected monster adored by 0, Lindsey Graham, McCain, the NYT, and the WaPo. Even as Morsi revived persecution of Christians, crucifixions, and gang rape.
