Reader’s Links for September 23, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. The vaxx program is designed to perpetuate the control pandemic, not end it. If public health policy truly wanted to end it it would not be denying us Ivermectin, et al. No, the vaxx mandate and control regime continues until it is the new normal, which really means freedom is forgotten. Then Agenda 30 gets fast-tracked, and we get world fascism.

The Great Reset is here and now, not “going forward” as is the fashionable expression. (Remember how we used to say ‘ in the future’?) Well the future is now and it’s in full bloom, not ‘going forward’. This expression is applied incrementalism.

The only way to save ourselves is for the vaxxed to give their heads a shake, stop “defending their purchase,” and start following the unvaxxed. If you vaxxed don’t like hearing this, well, too bad. Don’t get mad at me, take back your autonomy from those who are trying to steal it before you get really hooked on their immune-system depleating boosters. Stop the madness now.

You will be held hostage at needle point by a design wherein your resentment against your government is trumped by your fear of encountering the next wild virus that brings you ADE. Only the obedient will get boosted, adverse event stats will be suppressed, and future generations will know nothing of their lost history.

The year we are in, 2021, is a culminating point for ideologues who have long envisioned the exploitation of “crises” to demand “solutions” that upend government and related institutional arrangements without being put to a seriously contested vote.

This situation has been building for decades. One of the building blocks is measures that, in the generic, are touted as “solutions” to public problems, but that are not only unconstitutional or extremely misguided in many cases, but are also not solutions to the problems they are proposed to address.

Issues like COVID-19 mandates and U.S. border security are at the forefront of Americans’ minds right now. But there is a larger set of purported “solutions” advanced over the last 50-100 years whose consequences are – for many people – only now being recognized for what they are.

The list of twelve “non-solutions” below is by no means comprehensive. I see it as a starting point for retraining our minds to think in these terms. We have come over the last century to accept the idea of government as an all-purpose source of desperately needed “solutions,” and it is high time we recognize the problems we’ve created for ourselves by doing that.

Two tier society that punishes the unvaccinated could remain in place forever.

The CEO of pharmaceutical giant Moderna says that even younger people will have to get vaccine booster shots at least once every three years, meaning that a two-tier society which punishes the unvaccinated could remain in place indefinitely.

According to Stephane Bancel, the pandemic will continue for at least another year, at which point there will be enough vaccine doses “so that everyone on this Earth can be vaccinated.”

This includes jabs for infants and booster shots for those who require them.

“Those who don’t get vaccinated will immunize themselves naturally because the Delta variant is so contagious,” said Bancel, although he went on to assert that such people would still get ill.

“You can either get vaccinated and have a good winter. Or you don’t do it and risk getting sick and possibly even ending up in hospital,” said the Moderna CEO.

Bancel says life will return to normal “in a year,” but that this will be dependent on people continuing to receive regular COVID-19 booster jabs.

The CEO said older and vulnerable people would “undoubtedly” need refresher shots at least once a year, while even younger people who face an infinitesimal chance of dying from the virus will need booster shots every three years.

Israel has already signaled that vaccine passports will incorporate mandatory proof of an individual having received booster shots.

This means that those hoping to ride out the pandemic while remaining unvaccinated, with all freedoms returned next year, may actually face a permanent bio-security police state which keeps them under de facto lockdown forever.

Those who for whatever reason refuse to take their booster jabs will also face discrimination when it comes to travel and basic lifestyle activities in many countries.

Despite Bancel’s insistence that the entire planet will have been offered a vaccine within a year, according to Amnesty International, “Moderna has not yet delivered a single vaccine dose to a low-income country.”

zero hedge – New York’s New Gov Threatens To Replace Unvaccinated Hospital Workers With ‘Foreigners’

New York’s first female governor Kathy Hochul, who took the reins in the Empire State after her predecessor and former boss, Andrew Cuomo, finally resigned, is showing the state’s recalcitrant healthcare workers just how understanding and progressive she can be.

During a press briefing with reporters in Rochester Wednesday, Hochul told a group of reporters that she hoped all unvaccinated workers would meet Monday’s deadline to get the jab, or lose their jobs.

For those who continue to resist – including nearly 20% of the state’s hospital and nursing-home workers – they will be replaced. Possibly by foreign workers.

Faced with this, it makes sense to wonder how NY State, which has no immigration-related authority, could even credibly make such a threat? But Hochul says there have been conversations with the Department of State (albeit on a “limited basis”) about the possibility of doling out emergency visas to foreign workers.

“To those who won’t, we’ll be replacing people. And I have a plan that’s going to be announced very shortly,” she said.

“We’ve identified a whole range of opportunities we have to help supplement them.”

Hochul said state officials were “working closely with various hospital systems to find out where we can get other individuals to come in and supplement places like nursing homes.”

“We’re also reaching out to the Department of State to find out about visas for foreign workers, on a limited basis, to bring more nurses over here,” she said.

  7. BBC – The edible insects coming to a supermarket near you

It has long been suggested that we should start eating insects to help the environment, but for many of us it is not a palatable thought. One Israeli firm is hoping to win over the squeamish by adding different flavourings.

Dror Tamir opens a packet of brown, jellied sweets. “Try one,” says the boss of food tech firm Hargol.

The little gummies are packed with protein, but not from soy or gelatine. They are instead made from an edible, jumping insect – locusts, which are a type of grasshopper.

“Grasshoppers taste like pecans, mushrooms, coffee and chocolate,” adds Mr Tamir. “But with our range of food we can add in different flavours… the gummies come in orange and strawberry flavour.”

The Israeli entrepreneur says he became fascinated with grasshoppers as a child, after hearing stories from his grandmother, who was the cook on a kibbutz, or collective farm.

“I learned about the 1950s, when Israel suffered from both food insecurity as well as locust swarms flying in from Africa and destroying the crops,” he says.

“While most kibbutz members ran to the fields to scare the grasshoppers away, the Yemenite and Moroccan Jewish members collected tons of them to eat.

“That’s when I learned that grasshoppers are food for billions around the globe.”

The insects have long been eaten by communities across Africa, Asia, Central America and the Middle East, but for many people in Europe and North America it remains an unwelcome thought.

Mr Tamir hopes to change all that, and his firm is about to introduce a range of products. In addition to the sweets there will be energy bars, burgers and falafel balls.

If you are still not convinced that insects will ever become part of the Western diet, some experts believe there may be eventually no choice due to environmental concerns and projected global population growth.

By 2050 the world population is expected to reach 9.8 billion, up from the current 7.7 billion.

With another two billion people to feed, some say that traditional farming will not be able to keep pace. And that, at the same time, switching to insect protein will be far better for the environment than rearing cows, sheep and other mammals.

“Protein is essential in our diets,” says Prof Robin May, chief scientific advisor to the UK’s Food Standards Agency. “But often some of our most protein-rich foods come with significant environmental or ethical footprints – meat or dairy products, for instance.

“Some insect proteins, such as ground crickets or freeze-dried mealworms, are cheap, easy to farm, low fat and have a lower environmental impact than meat.

“And sometimes they may even provide a valuable ‘recycling’ service, by consuming waste products as their primary feedstuff, so the potential advantages to society are significant.”

Yet Prof May also cautions that some questions remain regarding the eating of farmed insects.

“The way that insects are farmed and the relatively short time in which they have been used as agricultural animals means that we know far less about insect-derived foods than we do for, say, beef,” he says.

A key question at this stage, he adds, is whether some insect proteins may prove to be allergenic or to have significant impact on the human microbiome – the bacteria and other microbes that live inside our bodies.

Mr Tamir is convinced that the environmental and health benefits are enough of a reason to make insects part of the diet.

His firm farms its locusts at an indoor, solar-powered facility in northern Israel. The main species that it breeds is the migratory locust, but it also farms the desert locust, and a bush cricket called nsenene.

“We can breed 400 million locusts a year in our facilities,” says Mr Tamir, who adds that the insect takes just 29 days to become fully grown.

He claims that compared with beef production, locust farming reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 99%, water consumption by 1,000 times and arable land usage 1,500-fold.

Mr Tamir is also keen to point out that locusts are both kosher and halal, meaning that they can be eaten by both dietary observant Jews and Muslims.

Whether you can actually buy edible insects to eat depends on what country you live in. In the UK, you can buy them from online firms such as EatGrub and Horizon Insects, although the sector would like the UK government to remove expensive regulation.

In the European Union, both the migratory locust and yellow mealworms, the larva of a beetle, were deemed fit for human consumption this year.

French firm Ynsect makes a range of protein powders made from mealworms that are already found in some brands of energy bars, pasta and burgers.

Chief executive Antoine Hubert says the protein is “completely natural” and “a less processed alternative” to many mammal-based meats, such as sausages, hams and breaded chicken products.

He points to a recent study from Maastricht University showing that insect protein is as beneficial as milk protein. “Both have the same performance on digestion, absorption and on the ability to stimulate muscle production,” says Mr Hubert.

Yet Bridget Benelam, communications manager at the British Nutrition Foundation, says more research is still needed. She echoes Prof May’s concerns about potential allergies, saying some people may be allergic to eating insects in the same way that others have an adverse reaction to shellfish.

She points out that some unanswered questions remain around the safety of consuming some types of insect, which could potentially transfer toxins or pesticides to humans. “These are some of the barriers that need to be overcome if eating insects is to become truly mainstream.”

Back in Israel, Mr Tamir admits that “the yuck factor” is one of his industry’s most important challenges. “But I am convinced it will soon be widely accepted, just like eating raw fish in sushi was embraced.”

“16 years after she had ended her term of office, it was only natural to make a lovely, small, cuddly teddy bear for Angelika Merkel,” said Martin Hermann, owner of the company.

Hermann created its first ‘Merkel’ themed teddy bear when the Chancellor was first inaugurated in office.

Sixteen years later, the 500 commemorative ‘Merkel’ bears already went sold out.

SOT, Martin Herrmann, Owner of Herrmann Teddy Bear Manufactory (German): “Teddy bears as celebrities, as prominent bears, have a very long tradition in our company. We now not only have politicians as teddy bears, but also kings and emperors, Barack Obama, but also the Pope, Martin Luther and Otto von Bismarck.”

SOT, Martin Herrmann, Owner of Herrmann Teddy Bear Manufactory (German): “And we already had an Angie bear when Angela Merkel was inaugurated, so after 16 years, after she ended her term of office, it was only natural to make a lovely, small, cuddly teddy bear for Angelika Merkel.”

SOT, Martin Herrmann, Owner of Herrmann Teddy Bear Manufactory (German): “Yes, we had on election day itself, then at 18:00, we put the bear on our website. And then presented the bear to the public for the first time.”

SOT, Martin Herrmann, Owner of Herrmann Teddy Bear Manufactory (German): “Yes, the new bears are now given number 16 at Angela Merkel for 16 years in office, so they run with number 16, because each bear is individually numbered, and our member of the Bundestag Hans Michelbach has taken it over to hand it over to Ms Merkel and so that will take place after the election.”

SOT, Martin Herrmann, Owner of Herrmann Teddy Bear Manufactory (German): “So far, we have not received any reaction from the Federal Chancellery, but the reaction of the collectors is enormous and the reactions of the Teddy friends, the Merkel friends and we hope that there will be positive news from the Federal Chancellery.”

SOT, Martin Herrmann, Owner of Herrmann Teddy Bear Manufactory (German): “Yes, we met, we also thought about what is typical for our Chancellor and what was typical were those diamond hands. And making them or making them was not easy on the average, because it differs a bit from a normal teddy bear. And that was quite complicated, to make them in such a way that they always sit down here to form this diamond.”

SOT, Martin Herrmann, Owner of Herrmann Teddy Bear Manufactory (German): Yes, every bear is handcrafted, it is completely manufactured here in Coburg, all materials come from German production and come from the region. And they are made one by one, every 500 pieces until they are just finished. It takes up to 5 hours for such a teddy bear to be showered. So it takes a while for a few to get to the number 500.”
