Reader’s Links for September 8, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • EB: what is happening is disastrous. I was out today and everybody is wearing the mask outside. It wasn’t the case one month ago, and even less four months ago. They all get their info on the local news TV that all have their special ‘experts’, all hospital-related. They think these said ‘experts’, aka contributors, are not paid to disseminate government propaganda.

That said, Australia is a testing ground (IMHO) for One World Order. One huge territory with only 25 Million population. As a continent, it’s ideal for a social experiment. I would think Canada will be next.

      • Sassy, it could be that there was a back to school special on face masks. I agree with you. Australia is ground zero.
        Winter is coming.
        Can you believe this:

  1. Communist propaganda to make people think they are formed out of the identity of other people’s racism:

‘We are all the same inside’
Some brains flower. Many don’t because of envy, pride and identity.

‘It’s not good enough to be non-racist. You have to be anti-racist.’
Thus walks the enemy through the front gate defining who is the oppressor and who is the oppressed.

Getting children to be virtuous to their own detriment and tear down their own institutions.

  2. The Paris Trial For The November 2015 Attacks Is Set To Begin On Wednesday
    https://text.npr.org/1034719286
On Wednesday, 20 men accused of planning and carrying out the largest peacetime attacks on French soil will go on trial in Paris.
Nearly six years ago, 10 attackers killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more in coordinated shootings and suicide bombings at the Bataclan concert hall, a sports stadium and bars and restaurants across the French capital. The ISIS attacks took place on an unusually balmy November Friday night in 2015, when outdoor café tables were full.
Starting this week, nearly 1,800 witnesses and victims of these attacks will testify in a trial expected to last nine months, one that will include more than 300 lawyers, hundreds of volumes of documents and unprecedented security. There will also be thousands of spectators.
A special courtroom built for the trial includes a high-security witness box for the sole survivor among the militants who carried out the attacks. Salah Abdeslam, a French citizen who lived in Belgium and is currently imprisoned in France, will be joined by 13 others accused of helping plan and provide logistics and weapons on Nov 13, 2015. He is faced with charges of murder linked to a terrorist enterprise.
Six others — ISIS members, most of whom now are believed by French intelligence to be dead in Syria — will be judged in absentia.
It will be one of the rare French trials that is filmed, though footage won’t be made public until 50 years from now.
“It is enormous and historic. After nearly six years of investigation, this will be a trial for history,” says retired Judge Jean-Louis Bruguière, who used to head France’s anti-terrorism investigation unit.
Media coverage is plunging France back into memories of the attacks as the trial approaches. A radio documentary that aired last week on public broadcaster France Info played the chilling calls to first responders from that night for the first time. As the calls flooded in from across the city, Nicolas Poirot, then head of the city’s ambulance service, said they had a hard time making sense of them.
“Then we looked at a map and realized it was a coordinated, massive attack,” he recalled in the documentary.
Stéphane Lacombe, who worked for a victims’ advocacy group at the time, says this trial is extremely important.
“The victims need to feel that a democratic state not only supports them,” he says, “but also that it’s using all its skills, resources, time, money, judges, to do what it can in order to get some answers.”
Lacombe says unlike the attacks that took place 10 months earlier in Paris, targeting the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo and a kosher supermarket, the attacks in November 2015 were more widespread.
“People said to me, ‘My God, it’s on cafés and in the street and against young people — it’s against everybody.’ So I think there was a real change in our country in the perception of terrorism on that day. From then on, everybody felt vulnerable,” says Lacombe.
Bruguière says the attacks were planned in Syria and carried out by Europeans who had joined ISIS and were able to travel back and forth undetected with the flow of migrants. The attackers were mostly French and Belgian citizens, born in Europe to immigrants from North Africa.
Such planned, coordinated attacks would be extremely difficult to carry out in France or Belgium today, he says.

  3. We have learned that the word “novel” applied to CV-19 may not be scientifically accurate. So was the novel handle applied for opportunity, then? Was it needed because, without its use, its emergency designation would not be convincing? I do find this a bit confusing.

Lay people are often confused. When I was 16 years old an old shyster sold me a car that was a lemon. As I drove away I was sure, later, that I heard him mutter the word “sucker”. The driver’s door came off its hinges when I got home. I was mad. What kind of person did such a thing? It happened again a few years later, and while I blamed the salesman, I also realized it was on me. I had better learn a little more about cars.

In 2008 I, like many people, lost money in the stock market. The Canadian government incentivizes such tax-saving investment via its Registered Retirement Savings Program. This is, to me, the nanny state mentality giving you a piggy bank. It also greases the banking system wheels. After I lost that money it was clear that Nanny didn’t really care about me even, though it was she who had convinced me to put it there. She didn’t come to my rescue even though she had seemed very kind at the time of my deposits.

Just before I closed my account at the chartered bank where this happened the financial advisor gave me one last comforting thought. It is something that has resonated in my head ever since. “At least you’ve got your health,” he said.

Now, this was a line for a sucker if ever there was one. The man most responsible for protecting my money was feeding me a line in consolation, because he had nothing else to offer. I was on my own, now, despite the beautiful relationship his whiz-bang charts had sold me on. I was going to retire comfortably before ’08. No longer. Realizing I had been played for a sucker I dumped the bum. I would have to teach myself enough about money so that I was not reliant on anyone else’s knowledge.

Like the man said, there’s a sucker born every minute. Truer words are rarely spoken. And never has this expression resonated more loudly than it is right now.

Just because we are all laymen beyond our own fields of expertise does not mean we will all be played for suckers. God gave us intuition to sense when something is not right. This is enough to act on. The details will fill themselves in later, once you’ve gone to safety.

Rule by hate, lies, and death cults

Police arrayed against lockdown protesters in Melbourne, Australia, 20 Aug 2021. ABC News (Australia) video, YouTube

One thing has become clear in recent months: many Americans recognize the attempt to manipulate and rule over them through invoking hatred, dealing in lies, and making a case for an economy of death and fear – and they don’t like it, and are fighting back against it.

It is by no means only Americans who are making this clear. Mass protests in other countries, where streets fill with people rejecting collectivization and control, testify to how widespread the revulsion is.

But it seems that nowhere are the hate, lies, and death cult illuminated in such vivid, specific relief as in America. There is a simplicity and clarity to the propositions in America not necessarily found elsewhere.

    • Note how the TFI group are sucking up to Russia, this isn’t going to get Russia to fight China for them but may get more military equipment out of them to fight the Taliban.

One of the nasty effects of Bidens behavior is the way he has driven India to Russia for protection. Russia will probably supply a lot of equipment so India can funnel it to the Northern Alliance so the Taliban will be kept busy in Afghanistan and not try spreading their hate to the previously Soviet controlled Stan’s.

  10. Book burning at Ontario francophone schools as ‘gesture of reconciliation’ denounced

More than 4,700 books were removed from library shelves at 30 schools, and they have since been destroyed or are in the process of being recycled

A book burning held by an Ontario francophone school board as an act of reconciliation with Indigenous people has received sharp condemnation from Canadian political leaders and the board itself now says it regrets its symbolic gesture.

The “flame purification” ceremony, first reported by Radio Canada, was held in 2019 by the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence, which oversees elementary and secondary schools in southwestern Ontario. Some 30 books, the national broadcaster reported, were burned for “educational purposes” and then the ashes were used as fertilizer to plant a tree.

“We bury the ashes of racism, discrimination and stereotypes in the hope that we will grow up in an inclusive country where all can live in prosperity and security,” says a video prepared for students about the book burning, Radio Canada reported.

In total, more than 4,700 books were removed from library shelves at 30 schools across the school board, and they have since been destroyed or are in the process of being recycled, Radio Canada reported.

Lyne Cossette, the board’s spokesperson, told National Post that the board formed a committee and “many Aboriginal knowledge keepers and elders participated and were consulted at various stages, from the conceptualization to the evaluation of the books, to the tree planting initiative.”

“Symbolically, some books were used as fertilizer,” Cossette wrote in an email.

The project, entitled Redonnons à la terre — “give back to the earth,” in English — was intended “to make a gesture of openness and reconciliation by replacing books in our libraries that had outdated content and carried negative stereotypes about First Nations, Métis and Inuit people.”

The school library, she said, is constantly updated, and the library books on shelves have “positive and inclusive messages about the diverse communities within our schools.”

“We regret that we did not intervene to ensure a more appropriate plan for the commemorative ceremony and that it was offensive to some members of the community. We sincerely regret the negative impact of this initiative intended as a gesture of reconciliation,” Cossette wrote.

Asked about the book burning, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau said it’s not up to non-Indigenous people “to tell Indigenous people how they should feel or act to advance reconciliation.”

“On a personal level, I would never agree to the burning of books,” Trudeau said.

Yves-François Blanchet, leader of the Bloc Québécois, said “we don’t burn books,” at a press conference.

“We expose ourselves to history, we explain it, we demonstrate how society has evolved or must evolve,” he said.

Asked about the report, Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole said, “Reconciliation is important for all Canadians and we have to have a system that does not discriminate.”

Later, O’Toole tweeted: “A Conservative government will be committed to reconciliation. But the road to reconciliation does not mean tearing down Canada. I strongly condemn the burning of books.”

Jagmeet Singh, the NDP leader, said the news calls for reflection.

“I have seen negative images, cartoons, and presentation that do not respect the dignity of Indigenous communities. So I think we really need to change our approach to teaching our children,” Singh said.

A 165-page school board document includes analysis of all the books removed from shelves, Radio Canada reported.

Among them are classic titles, such as Tintin in America, which was withdrawn for its “negative portrayal of indigenous peoples and offending Aboriginal representation in the drawings.”

Also removed were books that allegedly contain cultural appropriation, as well as outdated history books, such as two biographies of Jacques Cartier, a French explorer who mapped the St. Lawrence, and another of explorer Étienne Brûlé.

André Noël, a Quebec journalist, noted on Twitter that his book, Trafic chez les Hurons, published in 2000, was among those removed from shelves. In a Twitter thread, Noël wrote in French that the removal of his book “surprises me and seems excessive.”

“But I fear that this controversy will distract us from the real scandal, which we have not yet fully measured: the destruction of Indigenous lands and the oppression of Indigenous peoples by Europeans and their descendants, including in Canada and in Quebec,” he wrote.

    • CBC – Co-chair of Liberals’ Indigenous commission resigns after questions emerge about ancestry

Reporting from Radio-Canada cast doubt on Kies’ claims to Indigenous ancestry

Suzy Kies, the co-chair of the Indigenous peoples’ commission of the Liberal Party, has resigned from the position after her claim to Indigenous ancestry was called into question.

Radio-Canada reported on Wednesday that it could not confirm Kies’s claims to Indigenous ancestry. Kies told Radio-Canada in an interview that her father is of European descent and her mother is of Indigenous descent.

“My mother’s family is from several communities,” she told Radio-Canada in an interview in French. “On my grandfather’s side, it’s the Maliseet, from St. Mary’s, New Brunswick, there are also the Laporte who are Innu. And my grandmother was Abenaki from Odanak.”

In Radio-Canada’s reporting, they consulted civil status records and the Abenaki Council of Odanak, who did not find Kies on the band list.

The story came following controversy over a book-burning project at a francophone Ontario school board in which Kies was involved. The event, which was carried out by the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence in 2019, has resurfaced during the election campaign and has attracted condemnation by federal leaders.

The event was meant to promote reconciliation by burning and disposing of books the school board deemed to contain outdated and inappropriate depictions of Indigenous people. The books included novels, comic books and encyclopedias, according to a documentary obtained by Radio-Canada. Nearly 5,000 books were disposed of, but only around 30 were burned.

The school board told Radio-Canada Wednesday that it regrets the event, and that it will revise its process for removing books it deems harmful to Indigenous people.

In a statement in French, Kies disputes the reporting on her ancestry. She said that her family did genealogical research in the early 1990s that showed her family is of Abenaki ancestry.

“It confirmed what my grandmother always told us,” she said in the statement.

Kies had held the position since 2017.

“Suzy is an urban Indigenous woman of Abenaki and Montagnais-Naskape ancestry,” said the Liberal news release announcing her appointment. “Suzy brings vigorous campaigning skills and a passion to raise awareness and effect positive change for the betterment of Indigenous communities, both within the party and within Canada.”

In her statement, Kies said she is resigning to protect the party.

“I refuse to have my story used to harm Justin Trudeau and our party,” she said. “This is the reason why I am resigning from my position as co-chair of the Indigenous peoples’ commission.”

Her resignation came just hours before a French-language debate between federal leaders.

“Despite the hurtful questioning of my ancestry, identity and culture, I will continue my work to advance reconciliation and honour my family history,” Kies said in the statement.

Texas Lt. Gov. Patrick pushes for 2020 election audit bill

    4-5 minutes

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) wants the state legislature to take up a bill that would allow for audits of the 2020 election once lawmakers reconvene for their third special session in a few weeks.

According to the Houston Chronicle, during a telephone town hall Monday evening, Patrick told supporters that an election audit bill is one of his priorities for the upcoming legislative session. As lieutenant governor, Patrick presides over the Senate, and during the last session, he helped fast-track the bill, which failed to advance before the close of the legislature’s second special session this year.

Patrick and other Republican supporters of the audit legislation hope to pass it during the third special session.

The bill, introduced by Sen. Paul Bettencourt (R), would allow candidates, local party chairs, and election judges to request “an explanation and supporting documentation” if they suspect a local election official violated the law or if they want more information about alleged irregularities in precinct-level election results. If the person making a complaint is “not satisfied with the explanation and supporting documentation,” he or she may request an audit of the results from the Texas secretary of state.

India: Many ‘Moderate’ Muslims Increasingly Open About Their Support For the Taliban – Frontpagemag

“Allah has given us this huge victory. . .”

Despite their negative image in popular news platforms, the Taliban is winning support from some Muslims of India. Some are wishing for the Taliban to knock on India’s doors and establish their Islamic caliphate in India as well.

The Indian Muslims who have openly declared their support for the Taliban are not a poor, uneducated bunch of hoodlums who can be dismissed as exceptional cases. Several Indian politicians, eminent citizens, government officials and teachers from the community have been found to be supporting the Taliban, with even more fervor recently than they had shown before, as they celebrate the group’s recent victory. Some social media accounts belonging to reputedly moderate Indian Muslims couldn’t contain their exhilaration following the return of Islamic rule in India’s northwestern neighborhood.

In a first, the Secretary of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), Maulana Umrain Mahfuz Rahmani, took the nation by surprise by taking to his official Twitter account to shower praises on the terror outfit for their “extraordinary success” in Afghanistan. In a tweet written in Urdu, he also claimed that this victory had come with the help of Allah, and that such powerful decisions are “made in Heaven and not on Earth.”

China Mulls Takeover Of Bagram Air Base After Hasty US Withdrawal
    Anders Hagstrom
    3-4 minutes

The Chinese military is considering a takeover of the former site of the U.S. Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan following President Joe Biden’s hasty withdrawal of troops from the country in late August, according to the U.S. News.

Bagram, an airfield originally built by the Soviet Union during its occupation of Afghanistan, served as America’s largest military installation in the region throughout its 20 years in the country. Many of Biden’s critics have pointed to his abandoning of the airfield as one of the key missteps in his withdrawal from the country, which left more than 100 Americans stranded alongside tens of thousands of Afghan allies and refugees.

Chinese officials have denied any plans to occupy the base in America’s absence, however. (RELATED: Biden Expected To Be Tougher On China Than Previous Administrations)

“What I can tell everyone is that that is a piece of purely false information,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a statement Tuesday. China has repeatedly denied reports of its military deployments in the past, however.

Media For Months Reported On Matt Gaetz Investigation Without Evidence. Gaetz’s Claims Of Extortion Were Just Corroborated, However.
    Ashe Schow
    4-5 minutes

Months ago, the media publicized an FBI investigation involving Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), alleging he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl, whom he allegedly paid to travel with him. Gaetz denied the allegations and said they were part of an extortion plot against him and his family that the FBI had been working on with them.

It has been five months since the media vociferously covered the Gaetz investigation, based on anonymous leaks to The New York Times. As I wrote at the time, publicizing an investigation like this seeks to destroy the accused in the court of public opinion without needing evidence to back up those assertions. Some of the allegations against Gaetz should have been easy to corroborate, like flight details, yet the absence of such information led some to believe the allegations were politically motivated.

It is still possible that Gaetz will be indicted for a crime.

Glenn Greenwald on Friday mentioned the lack of movement in the Gaetz investigation, adding that “leaking the existence of investigations without charges is a crime for a reason: destroys reputations with no chance of defense.”

“This was a favorite tactic of corrupt Brazilian prosecutors: they’d leak investigations and accusations to corporate media outlets, which would trumpet them, but never charge the person, thus destroying their enemies’ reputations with no need to ever prove the case in court,” Greenwald added.

U.S. President Joe Biden’s “obsession with the environment” has “hindered” Brazil’s attempts to form a stronger diplomatic relationship with Washington, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said this week.

“For my part, Brazil has its doors open and [is] ready to continue the conversation with the American government,” Bolsonaro said during an interview with the local radio station Fonte FM in Brazil’s central state of Goiás on August 30.

Satanists Demand Religious Exemption To Perform ‘Abortion Ritual’ Illegal Under Texas Law
    Tim Pearce
    4-5 minutes

The Satanic Temple (TST) is challenging a Texas law that bans most abortions after a heartbeat can be detected in the unborn child.

The Satanists argue that the law restricts their right to free religious practice, referring to abortions as a “religious abortion ritual” and “a ceremony rooted in our deeply-held beliefs” on the TST website.

“This ritual may be performed by our members as a way to fortify self-worth, instill confidence, and provide spiritual comfort,” the TST website adds. “The performance of the Satanic abortion ritual is protected by religious liberty laws. It exempts Satanists from fulfilling any medically unnecessary and unscientific requirement, such as mandatory waiting periods or unwanted sonograms, that interferes with the practice of our ritual.”

On Thursday, TST announced that it was taking “legal action” in Texas to defend its members’ “religious rights.”

  18. – About AUSSIES and KIWIS submitting without a fight: We all agree this is very strange. Why? Is it possible these governments are interfering with their Internet services, aka censorship? –

There is just no other way to explain the disconnect between: (1) what Australian political officials and state run health offices are saying; (2) the scale and scope of the totalitarian COVID mitigation efforts -writ large- they are executing; and (3) the reality of experiences in the rest of the civilized world.

The Australian government is not in an isolation bubble with the incapacity to see the world around them and communicate with other nations. They know what is happening around the world, and those worldwide events are completely contradictory from the decisions being made by the government officials down under.

What in happening in Australia and New Zealand for COVID mitigation is being done with intent and purpose; yet, it is devoid of sense when contrast against the rest of the world.

Therefore, if we accept these officials are not literally stupid people; and if we accept they possess a reasonable constitution; the only reconciliation of their conduct is that some guiding element is instructing them to conduct their national affairs as if the experiences of the rest of the world are non-existent. That would seem to affirm there is some sort of wide-spread social test happening down-under.

The most bizarre part of accepting the premise that Australia and New Zealand are testing grounds for government control in the 21st century, is then asking yourself how a nation of 25.5 million people cannot see their fishbowl of crazy. Surely they still have access to the world-wide internet, or do they? Are the Aussies and Kiwis able to use social media that connects them to other nations, or are there filters from Big Tech intended to support the government test? Are journalists in Australia not capable of seeing the rest of the world?

I am not asking these questions out of some intent to be provocative or snarky; I genuinely cannot fathom how 25 million people cannot see the disconnect between the rules and regulations put upon them by their government and then contrast those restrictions against the visible outcomes in the rest of the world.

Australia seems to have become this weirdly antonymous state like North Korea.

SCOOP: Google has launched an “antiracism” initiative claiming that America is a “system of white supremacy” and that all Americans are “raised to be racist”—including Ben Shapiro, who is depicted as a layer of the “white supremacy pyramid,” culminating in “genocide.”

    —————————-
I have obtained a trove of whistleblower documents from inside Google that reveal the company’s extensive racial-reeducation program, based on the core tenets of critical race theory—including “intersectionality,” “white privilege,” and “systemic racism.

    —————————————–

In a module called “Allyship in Action,” Google trained employees to deconstruct their racial and sexual identities, and then rank themselves on a hierarchy of “power [and] privilege,” then “manage [their] reactions” through “cry[ing]” and “accessing [their] ‘happy place.'”

    —————————————–

In a video, guest lecturer Ibram Kendi claimed that all Americans, including children as young as 3 months old, are racist: “To be raised in the United States, is to be raised to be racist, and to be raised to be racist is to be raised to almost be addicted to racist ideas.”

    ———————————————-

Denial of racism is proof that a person is racist. “For me, the heartbeat of racism is denial and the sound of that denial is ‘I’m not racist,'” Kendi told Google employees. “It’s a critically important step for Americans to no longer be in denial about their own racism.”

    ———————————————–

In another video, guest lecturer Nikole Hannah-Jones claimed that she created the 1619 Project to verify her “lifelong theory” that everything in the modern-day United States can be traced back to slavery: “If you name anything in America, I can relate it back to slavery.”

    ————————————————-
Jones claimed that “the first Africans being sold [in 1619] is more foundational to the American story” than “the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock.”

“If you’re white in this country,” she said, “you are the beneficiary of a 350-year system of white supremacy.”

    ———————————————————-
A Google DEI Lead created an internal document called “Anti-racism resources,” containing readings and racial-consciousness exercises. One graphic claims that “colorblindness,” “Columbus Day,” “weaponized whiteness,” and “Make America Great Again” are “covert white supremacy.”

    ———————————————————-
Another graphic, titled “The White Supremacy Pyramid,” advances the idea that conservative commentator Ben Shapiro is a foundation of “white supremacy” and that Donald Trump is moving society on a path toward “mass murder” and “genocide.”
