No MSM media is truly talking about it and when they do, they put a pretty face on Fauci.
Fauci is now in damage control, he’s not a happy man, and he knows his reputation has been damaged to the point of no return. The worst that might happen to him would be a congressional hearing and even then, no media will report negatively on it.

The buck stops where? The President and Senate have oversight over the Director on NIH, but no one apparently has oversight over the institutes within it.

While there is an NIH Director who is presidentially appointed and Senate confirmed, he or she oversees a confederation of variably independently operated ICs rather than exercises central control. Perhaps, the most compelling example is the NCI, whose Director is a presidential appointee. This stature gives the NCI virtually total control over its operations and planning. While the institute directors have a weekly hour-and-a-half meeting with the Director
Perhaps Congress needs to use the same pursestrings it used during the Base Realignment Act to move NIH to a state where its researchers could truly help raise the standard of education and finances: Mississippi. The Fauci University Consortium move would be a way that the American people and NIH employees could honor Dr. Fauci . The large construction costs could be overcome by temporarily using FEMA trailers and the Federal Government could release its prime NIH real estate for commercial and residential use; the cost of living differential given the employees in the National Capital area could be dropped; and NIH researchers would have an opportunity to do field work in a geographic area that could directly benefit from its expertise.
