Reader’s links for May 31, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

Look at how the authorities treat us like so many retarded losers. They make a big fuss about wanting the public’s help in identifying the shooters yet there is not one iota of description given of the criminals despite there being lots of people outside when the event took place. How stupid do they think we are? Any fool can see that they do not want to catch the murderers and are only interested in how this crime can advance the cause of the Democrat Party’s anti-gun policies. The welfare of the people is the farthest thing from their evil minds. They want to let the perps go because they are black and they need the black vote…

The college is aware and concerned about the increase of misinformation circulating and social media and other platforms regarding physicians who are publicly contradicting public orders and recommendations.

Physicians hold a unique position of trust with the public and have a professional responsibility to not communicate anti-vaccine, anti-masking, anti-distancing and anti-lockdown statements and / or promoting unsupported, unproven treatments for COVID-19. Physicians must not make comments or provide advice that encourages the public to act contrary to public health orders and recommendations.

Physicians who put the public at risk May face an investigation by the CPSO and disciplinary actions, when warranted.

Is Iran finally going to get a pair of navy ships to Venezuela? – Liberty Unyielding

Is Iran finally going to get a pair of navy ships to Venezuela?

Rising star: Iranian mobile base ship Makran debuts with the fleet in Jan 2021. Military Tube Today video, YouTube

The Iranian regime has been vowing to do this since 2011, but has yet to bring it off. Now Politico reports that U.S. officials are tracking an Iranian frigate in company with the newly commissioned “mobile base” ship Makran (pennant 441) on the East coast of Africa, apparently moving south and possibly headed for a visit to Venezuela.

The frigate, unnamed in the Politico report, may be IRIS Sabalan (pennant 73), which Iran heralded as on its way to Venezuela in 2014. (Prematurely, as it turned out.) Sabalan is the frigate that survived the U.S. counterattack in 1988 (Operation Praying Mantis) during the Iran-Iraq War, after an Iranian mine severely damaged a U.S. frigate, USS Samuel B Roberts (FFG-58). Iran may try again to make the point that Sabalan is still in service and operating close to the United States.

Otherwise, more recently commissioned candidates include the Iranian Mowj-class frigates Jamaran and Sahand. (The latter is the namesake of Sabalan’s sister ship that didn’t survive Praying Mantis in 1988.) Alert readers may be aware that the Makran debuted in a fleet exercise in January with a new Sina-class guided-missile missile patrol ship, the Zereh, which some sources have called a frigate. However, the Sina class is not called a frigate by the U.S. Navy, and I doubt an official source citing Navy information would have used the designation in describing Zereh. The Sinas, small and zippy, are improved La Combattante II class patrol ships, referred to by the U.S. Navy as “PTGs” (the G indicating guided-missile equipped). They don’t have the legs for an effective deployment of the distance involved in going to Venezuela. An actual frigate is the more likely candidate.

The frigates have been getting a workout in regional deployments in the years since the international antipiracy mission off Somalia was undertaken by a number of nations in late 2008.

  3. Hibz ut-Tahrir spin-off of the Muslim Brotherhood hoods

Article 62 of the Hibz Constitution call for compulsory conscription in their sought after Caliphate. It states every Muslim male fifteen years and over is obliged to undergo military training in readiness for Jihad.

The definition of Jihad is also quite clear for Hibz ut-Tahrir. “The meaning of Jihad being a duty of sufficiency is that we initiate the fighting of the enemy even if he did not attack us. If the Muslims failed to initiate the fighting at any given time, they would be sinful. It should be noted Hibz believes that defensive Jihad is a falsehood”.

Hibz USA leader, Dr. Mohammed Malkawi, at a conference in Jordon said: “Let Britain, America and the entire West go to hell, because the Caliphate is coming.

Hibz Canadian leader, Mazin Abdul-Adhim spews the same hate on Facebook even though we have M-103, the hate speech motion introduced by a Muslim member of the Canadian parliament, Iqra Khalid, or as the boys at Palestine House call her “Loyal Sister Khalid”.

There is much strife and contention in the land, and many reasons – plenty of them reasonable – for the people to criticize each other.

A couple of videos may serve as a reminder of why there are times and occasions to step away from the fray and just focus on something else.

Memorial Day is such a time. On Memorial Day, we commemorate those who died in battle for our nation. From the Revolutionary War to the Mesopotamian plain of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, from the farmers’ fields in our own Civil War to the remotest parts of Southeast Asia and Africa, from the skies above us to the deepest oceans, our servicemen and women who have fought and died are remembered.

    “We will never forget.”

U.S. trading away key interests to China in exchange for climate-change rhetoric?

    Image via Twitter

Will the U.S. turn a blind eye to genocide in China, its trade barriers and intellectual property theft, and its increasingly aggressive foreign policy, in order to get China’s government to make useless noises about fighting climate change?

Lawmakers are worried about the Biden administration doing that. For example, they objected to recent remarks made by John Kerry, President Biden’s special climate envoy, about potentially reaching a climate deal with China — saying he trivialized the widespread human rights abuses committed by China’s communist government. Kerry told an interviewer. “We have differences on economic rules, on cyber. We have other differences on human rights, geostrategic interests, but those differences do not have to get in the way of something that is as critical as dealing with climate.”

Recently, Kerry traveled to Shanghai to meet with Chinese officials, after which the two countries released a joint statement vowing to tackle the climate crisis together with “seriousness and urgency.”

But such rhetoric is meaningless on China’s part. China has declared its commitment to fighting climate change in the past, such as in ratifying the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. But that rhetoric about fighting climate change did not result in China actually cutting its emissions, which continued to rise rapidly. Indeed, China’s greenhouse gas emissions have more than tripled over the last 30 years. China’s greenhouse gas emissions now exceed those of the United States and every developed nation combined, according to research cited by CNBC. China accounts for 27% of total global emissions. The United States accounts for only 11%.

    Excerpt:

Lifson obviously mentions the massive money-laundering boon of the non-vaccines to Big Pharma, but what he misses, and cannot be permitted to be lost amongst the “covid” rhetoric, is the fact that Ivermectin’s antiviral properties would eliminate AS A TOTAL PREVENTATIVE a massive percentage of the cold and flu symptom remedy market. If you never catch a cold or the flu in the first place, then you never become symptomatic, which means you don’t have any demand for over-the-counter decongestants, cough suppressants, fever reducers, etc.

It’s an ELEVEN FIGURE ANNUAL MARKET. $50 billion, conservatively. Don’t kid yourselves, folks. BigPharma is defending their over-the-counter cold and flu remedy high-profit-margin market every bit as much as they are fabricating this “non-vaccine” market by withholding and trying to character assassinate Ivermectin in th€ fir$t wor£d.

Naval powers of Indo-pacific are joining hands to turn Indonesia into a formidable naval power

    • The Biden/Obama administration is doing it’s best to destroy all influence the US has around the world. This unforced surrender of power isn’t giving the Chinese as much advantage as our so called leaders and other enemies want, the nations that were sheltering under the military coat tails of the US are banding together to help hold off the massive power grabs of China.

Japan is expanding its Naval forces manning more of the helicopter carriers they started building amd stpcl[o;omg during the Clinton years and started manning towards the end of the Obama years. These small carriers which are capable of handling the F35s that Japan flies will along with their escort ships be a very nasty thorn in the side of any Chinese Naval force that tries to take them on.

Indonesia is expanding it’s submarine fleet to 12 vessels, 12 diesel powered fast attack subs will give pause to any nation that tries to send large fleets through the First Island Chain. Especially when combined with the 21 active duty Japanese subs, they are currently building a 22nd sub and may be considering building and commissioning more. Taiwan currently has 4 subs and have 8 more under construction, if China can be prevented from taking Taiwan or if the surviving Taiwanese subs can make it to Japan this is a formadable force to defend the First Island Chain. Especially if they can keep the majority of the Chinese Blue Water Fleet trapped inside the First Island Chain. India has 2 nuclear powered subs and 15 diesel powered subs with two more under construction. Australia has 6 diesel powered subs with non under construction this gives the Quad less 1 a total of 72 subs (if all that are under construction are finished and commissioned) to harass the Chinese navy and merchant fleet.

Now add in the surface vessels of the Quad less 1 along with the Indonesian and Philippine Navies and you have a strong Naval Force to oppose the Chinese navy. If the Chinese hold off attacking Taiwan for a few years and the members of Congress can prevent the current anti-American administration from implementing it wish list of woke policies in the US Military, combined with the (currently) good chance we can get a pro America President and Congress in 2024 we may be able to avoid a major war in the Pacific.

We may avoid a major war but don’t count on it, despite what the Chinese are saying their economy is in shambles as Xi takes them back to bull communism. This combined with the natural disasters that China had in its food supply chain last year with the drought that they are currently experiencing in many areas and we see a weakening China that is making the CCP desperate. Which in turn is making Xi desperate, Oligarchies like the CCP treat failed leaders harshly and Xi has to be worried about his life expectancy and the life expectancy of his family. This desperation stands a good chance of making Xi willing to gamble and hit Taiwan or some other nation he thinks can be looted to bring in the liquid cap8ital that China is desperate for.

The logic behind Moscow’s economic outreach to Pyongyang

Even though China has been frequently described as North Korea’s leading international ally, Pyongyang’s state-controlled news agency, KCNA, listed Russia at the top of the list of countries friendly toward the DPRK, relegating China to second place.

Need a North Korean Missile? Call the Cairo Embassy

CAIRO – On an island in the Suez Canal, a towering AK-47 rifle, its muzzle and bayonet pointed skyward, symbolizes one of Egypt’s most enduring alliances. Decades ago, North Korea presented it to Egypt to commemorate the 1973 war against Israel, when North Korean pilots fought and died on the Egyptian side.

But now the statue has come to signify another aspect of Egypt’s ties to North Korea: a furtive trade in illegal weapons that has upset President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s otherwise cozy relationship with the United States, set off a painful cut in military aid and drawn unremitting scrutiny from United Nations inspectors.

Egypt has purchased North Korean weapons and allowed North Korean diplomats to use their Cairo embassy as a base for military sales across the region, American and United Nations officials say….

North Korea’s largest embassy in the Middle East, an elegant, three-story Victorian building with a rusty brass plate over the entrance, sits on a leafy street on an island in the Nile…

Like those of many North Korean outposts, the duties of the Cairo embassy extend well beyond diplomacy.

In Africa especially, North Korean diplomats have engaged in a wide variety of ruses and schemes to earn hard currency, United Nations investigators say. In South Africa and Mozambique, North Korean diplomats have been implicated in rhino poaching. In Namibia, North Koreans built giant statues and a munitions factory. In Angola, they trained the presidential guard in martial arts.

In Egypt, their business is weapons. United Nations inspectors and North Korean defectors say the Cairo embassy has become a bustling arms bazaar for covert sales of North Korean missiles and cut-price Soviet-era military hardware across a band of North Africa and the Middle East….

    • China: Peking slams Japan’s offer of COVID vaccine supply to Taiwan

China condemned Japan’s offering of COVID-19 vaccines to Taiwan, in a Beijing briefing on Monday.

“Japan can barely ensure adequate supply of vaccines at home,” Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), said, adding that ”vaccine assistance should be restarted to its original purpose of saving lives instead of being the tool for selfish political gain.”

Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi confirmed last Friday that the country is considering providing an extra supply of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines to other countries, including Taiwan, which is now battling a surge in coronavirus cases.

      SOUNDBITES:

SOT, Wang Wenbin, China’s MOFA spokesperson (Mandarin): ”Recently, many counties, cities and groups in the Taiwan region have been calling for early access to vaccines from the mainland and some institutions have announced that they will receive donations from the mainland. All this demonstrates the Taiwan people’s confidence in mainland vaccines. We have said that we are willing to help our compatriots to combat the virus.”

SOT, Wang Wenbin, China’s MOFA spokesperson (Mandarin): ”Democratic Progressive Party authorities, proceeding from selfish political calculations, turned a blind eye to the goodwill of the mainland, and even resorted to malicious smears and various other means to thwart the shipment of vaccines from the mainland to the island. This is running roughshod over the life and health of our compatriots in Taiwan.

China always supports international cooperation in combating COVID-19 and has been taking active efforts in this regard. That being said, we are firmly against those who exploit the pandemic to put on political shows or even meddle in China’s internal affairs.”

SOT, Wang Wenbin, China’s MOFA spokesperson (Mandarin): “Japan can barely ensure adequate supply of vaccines at home. Under such circumstances, the Japanese government’s announcement of considering providing vaccines to China’s Taiwan region has drawn doubts from media and the public including in Taiwan.”

SOT, Wang Wenbin, China’s MOFA spokesperson (Mandarin): ”I would like to stress that vaccine assistance should be restored to its original purpose of saving lives instead of being the tool for selfish political gain.”

    • ctv news – WHO now using Greek alphabet for coronavirus variant names

GENEVA — Coronavirus variants with clunky, alphanumeric names have now been assigned the letters of the Greek alphabet in a bid to simplify discussion and pronunciation while avoiding stigma.

The World Health Organization revealed the new names on Monday amid criticism that those given by scientists such as the so-called South African variant which goes by multiple names including B.1.351, 501Y.V2 and 20H/501Y.V2 were too complicated.

As such, the four coronavirus variants considered of concern by the U.N. agency and known generally by the public as the UK, South Africa, Brazil and India variants have now been given the letters Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta according to the order of their detection.

Other variants of interest continue down the alphabet.

“While they have their advantages, these scientific names can be difficult to say and recall, and are prone to misreporting,” said the WHO, explaining the decision.

The choice of the Greek Alphabet came after months of deliberations in which other possibilities such as Greek Gods and invented, pseudo-classical names were considered by experts, according to bacteriologist Mark Pallen who was involved in the talks.

But many were already brands, companies or alien names.

Another idea to refer to variants of concern as VOC1, VOC2 etc. was scrapped after he pointed out it resembled an English swear word.

Historically, viruses have often been associated with the locations from which they are thought to have emerged such as Ebola which is named after the eponymous Congolese river.

But this can be damaging for the places and often inaccurate such as with the so-called ‘Spanish flu’ pandemic of 1918 whose origins are unknown.

“No country should be stigmatized for detecting and reporting variants,” said WHO epidemiologist Maria Van Kerkhove.

Before the new WHO scheme, some scientists had adopted their own simplified nomenclature for variants such as a February paper using bird names. However, it was criticized on the grounds that this could imperil birds and by the mother of a girl named ‘Robin’.

Interview Stephanie Seneca, Ph.D and Judy Mikovits, Ph.D

In May of 2020, I also interviewed Mikovits about the possibility of these vaccines causing reproductive harm and other health problems. At the time, Mikovits warned that fertility rates may drop thanks to SARS-COV-2 spike protein creating antibodies that attack syncytium, and indeed, we’re now starting to see that.
Still the CDC are recommending pregnant women get these vaccines, as well as children as young as 12, which is unconscionable considering the potent life long risks and impairment of fertility.

You’re going to disrupt your white blood cells, your immune response. You are going to turn on an anti-inflammatory cytokines signature in every cell in your body. It exhausts your NK cells’ ability to determine infected cells. it’s the nightmare we predicted.

Reality is exponentially worse than predicted. Vaccinated patients are now reporting herpes and shingles infections following vaccinations. Over 1200 Bell’s palsy. Very bad sign, if a pregnant woman has a herpes flare-up, she has a two fold increased risk of producing an autistic son………….

  22. The U.S. Military’s Love of America – Frontpagemag

We need to find a way to get our country back.

Editor’s note: The article below is written by Tom Burbage, a Vietnam-era veteran and Naval Academy graduate who leads The Calvert Group — a military group of American heroes who are fighting the Left’s subversion of our defense forces. The Calvert Group is a key player in an effort to connect graduates of the service academies — America’s finest military veterans — to bring their clout and resources to the fight to save America. [Tom can be contacted at: bu********@ya***.com].

Most of our uniformed service members — and most Americans — believe in the fundamental goodness of our great country. And they want to preserve it. But fighting for what is right means first understanding the truth about what is happening.

We have the world’s most powerful military and it is an all-voluntary force. We all took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. We believe in the sanctity of that oath. All of our civilian and military leaders take the same oath.

Today we are confronted with a very serious domestic enemy which, if left unchecked, will threaten our way of life and our ability to remain a beacon of freedom and a leader of the free world.

The threat has been allowed to exist in our educational systems over many years and has gained additional support and momentum with recent left-leaning media which shapes public opinion. We live in a world of social media and words with double meaning. Phrases that defined our world and that motivated young patriots to lead our volunteer military included “freedom isn’t free,” “the home of the free, because of the brave,” “heroes are forged in fire,” “this is my country,” “I’m proud to be an American” and most important of all: “God Bless America.” All of these sacred mantras have suddenly been replaced by phrases like “black lives matter,” “systemic racism” and “defund the police,” all of which have hidden meanings and exert influence on the uninformed.

  23. The Faded Flag

A portent of the dangers that lie ahead for our exceptional nation.

When I put out my flag for Memorial Day, I noticed how faded it was. At a time when we honor those who died defending our country and its freedom, this year my faded flag seems a portent of the dangers that lie ahead for our exceptional nation.

Nations decline the way one of Hemingway’s characters went broke: slowly, then all at once. In just four months, the Biden administration’s policy proposals, executive orders, and “woke” rhetoric suggest that we will continue to draw ever closer to that moment of “all at once.”

Many signs of decline have been evident for decades, punctuated by brief moments of revival. The Sixties and Seventies were a low point in our national morale, a time when the “best lacked all conviction, and the worst were filled with passionate intensity.” The protests over the war in Vietnam, the riots and terrorist bombings, the specious Watergate scandal, the oil crisis, economic stagflation, and the general assault on traditional virtue, faith, and morality––the Nietzschean “revaluation of all values”–– culminated in the presidency of Jimmy Carter with its rhetoric of doubt and retreat evident in his inaugural address. There he mourned the nation’s “recent mistakes,” counseled us not “to dwell on remembered glory,” asserted our country’s “recognized limits,” and preached that it “could only do its best.” He reprised these defeatist sentiments later in the “crisis of confidence” speech.

But Carter’s one term of failures––particularly his feeble and appeasing response to the Iranian Revolution, the violent occupation of our embassy in Tehran, and the taking hostage of its staff–– was followed by Ronald Reagan and his “morning in America” confidence and optimism. Reagan revitalized the economy, and his actions signaled to the world and our Soviet rival that the “crisis of confidence” was over, and America had recovered its nerve. He brought moral clarity to the Cold War by rejecting détente and coexistence, and stated instead, “We win, they lose.” A few years after he left office, the Soviet Union was relegated to the “dustbin of history” the Soviets had predicted for the democratic West.

  24. GOP Bill Aims to Ban Black Lives Matter, ‘Political’ Flags From Embassies

    biggersmaller Print

Republican lawmakers have introduced a proposal that would prohibit U.S. embassies and consulates from flying “political” flags, such as those associated with the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, after a number of diplomatic missions displayed the BLM flag on the anniversary of George Floyd’s death.

Called the Stars and Stripes Act of 2021 (pdf), the measure was introduced by Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) and co-sponsored by a number of GOP members of Congress, including new Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.).

“Our beautiful American flag should fly over our U.S. embassies around the world—not the flag of a political organization founded by Marxists,” Stefanik said in a statement, referring to the reported links between BLM founders and Marxism.

  25. ‘Hispanics are Republicans’: Senate GOP campaign arm touts poll to prove growing support with key group.
by David M. Drucker, Senior Political Correspondent |
    6-8 minutes

Senate Republicans are wooing Hispanic voters in battleground states crucial to recapturing the majority in 2022, with the GOP aiming to capitalize on the gains made with this key demographic last November.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee implemented a Spanish-language advertising and media outreach program in January as the Senate GOP campaign arm looks to boost Hispanic support for the party’s candidates in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Ohio. Republicans need to win a net of one seat in the midterm elections to take the majority in the Senate, which split 50-50, with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris casting tiebreaking votes.

The NRSC, pointing to fresh polling, argues increasing support from Hispanics is poised to help make it happen.

  26. Grassley: Confirming Biden’s ATF Pick Is Like ‘Putting Antifa In Charge Of The Portland Police’
May 26, 2021 By Jordan Davidson
    2 minutes

Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley said that confirming President Joe Biden’s pick to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives would be like “putting Antifa in charge of the Portland Police Department.”

“Day to day, ATF plays a significant role in the legal trade of firearms in this country,” the ranking member said during the Senate Judiciary hearing on Wednesday. “Many see putting a committed gun control proponent like Mr. Chipman in charge of ATF as like putting a tobacco executive in charge of the Department of Health and Human Services, or Antifa in charge of the Portland Police Department.”

President Joe Biden first nominated David Chipman in April, citing the nominee’s tenure at the ATF as qualification enough to assume the rare director position. Shortly after the White House nominated Chipman, Republicans noted the anti-gun lobbyist’s track record, including working for gun control group Giffords and advocating for bans and regulations on assault rifles, suppressors, bump stocks, certain ammunition, and homemade firearms.

  27. Biden’s Budget Assumes a Massive Retroactive Capital Gains Tax
Biden will unveil his proposed budget on Friday. Sources say it will include retroactive tax hikes.

    Mish
    May 27, 2021

    Biden Seeks Retroactive Tax Hikes

Biden seeks to hike the top rate on capital gains to 43.4% from 23.8% for households with income over $1 million.

He also wants to make the increase retroactive and force capital gains realization at death as well.

    Opposition Mounts

The WSJ reports Biden’s Budget Said to Assume Capital-Gains Tax Rate Increase Started in April.

Leaders of six biggest U.S. banks, testified to Congress Thursday warning against a retroactive change.
Sen. Mark Warner (D., Va.), wants to maintain a lower tax rate for capital gains than for ordinary income.
Lawmakers from farm states, including Sen. Jon Tester (D., Mont.) and Rep. Cindy Axne (D., Iowa) have objected to the changes on capital gains at death.

    Now and Later

Biden wants to make it retroactive so that millionaires cannot accelerate gains now. And he wants to make gains taxable at death to prevent heirs from holding.

In short, Biden wants his tax hikes now and later too.

He continues to appease the Progressives.

Lie of the Day From Biden: My Budget Will Pay for Itself

Earlier today I noted Lie of the Day From Biden: My Budget Will Pay for Itself.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says the budget is sustainable because long-term yields are below the rate of inflation, conveniently held there by the Fed.

The budget also assumes no recession for at least another 9 years despite the fact they happen about every 5 years on average.

Finally, Biden’s budget not only assumes retroactive tax hikes but those hikes will bring in more money than the nonpartisan congressional budget office assumes.

Meanwhile, Enough is Enough, a Democratic Governor Courageously Says “No More Taxes”

    Biden’s Budget Headed Nowhere

There is bipartisan support for about $900 billion in infrastructure spend, far short of the $2.3 trillion Biden seeks.

There is no bipartisan support for tax hikes.

Moreover, Biden cannot afford to lose a single Democrat Senator on any issue, but the net impact of all his tax and budget proposals suggests he has lost at least 3 Senators.

His budget and tax hikes are headed to the gutter. Beyond infrastructure, it’s unclear if Biden can pass anything.

The European Parliament has halted ratification of a controversial investment treaty with China until Beijing lifts sanctions on European lawmakers, academics and think tanks. The move, a rare display of fortitude by an institution notorious for vacillation, reflects a hardening stance in Europe toward the Chinese Communist Party.

The ratification freeze, backed by all of the major groupings in the European Parliament, is significant for several reasons: it represents a turning point in EU-China relations, in that Beijing no longer calls the shots; it marks a shift in the balance of power in favor of the European Parliament at the expense of the European Commission; and it signifies the beginning of the end of Merkelism, and ideology which has, among other things, consistently prioritized commercial interests over human rights concerns, whether in China, Russia or Iran.

The European Parliament on May 20 overwhelmingly passed a resolution to “freeze” ratification of the deal with 599 votes in favor, 30 against and 58 abstentions. A statement said:

  29. olice Deaths and Retirements Have Reached Record Levels
    David Keltz
    6-8 minutes

Just over one year after George Floyd’s death, Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests and anti-police rhetoric from Democrat politicians have led to a record number of police officer deaths and retirements. In 2020 alone, 264 police officers were killed in the line of duty, a staggering 96 percent increase from 2019.

New York City’s Police Department (NYPD), which has 34,500 uniformed officers and is the largest police force in the world, saw 2,600 cops retire last year, nearly double the number in 2019, and an 87 percent increase from the previous year. This after more than 400 NYPD police officers were injured in 2020 during anti-police protests. And in 2021, NYPD retirements are already set to surpass last year’s already high number.

As a consequence of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s senseless calls to strip $1 billion from the NYPD, as well as other policies that have handcuffed law enforcement officers from doing their job, the NYPD reported that murders in NYC rose to 462 in 2020, a 45 percent increase from 2019. The city also recorded 1,531 shootings in 2020, a 97 percent increase from 2019. De Blasio is now increasing funding to the NYPD.

  30. Michigan Secretary of State and Dominion Corp Warn Local Officials Not to Audit any Election Results – The Last Refuge

Providing further suspicion that something is afoot in the world of fraudulent election systems, the Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (Democrat) and the Dominion Company (who control the ballot counting systems) are warning state officials not to conduct audits of their local results.

(Via WaPo) […] – In letters sent to the Cheboygan and Antrim county clerks last week, the office of Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said the county boards have “no authority” to order audits — and instructed election clerks not to provide access to unaccredited outside parties to conduct them.

“Interest in granting access to unqualified third parties to conduct a ‘forensic audit’ may stem from misplaced reliance on ongoing misinformation, which has been repeatedly, comprehensively, and definitively debunked,” wrote Jonathan Brater, director of the Michigan Bureau of Elections, in a letter to Cheboygan County Clerk Karen Brewster.

In a separate letter to all Michigan counties that use its equipment, Dominion warned that transferring machines to unaccredited auditors could void licensing agreements and render the equipment “unqualified for official use.” (read more)

  31. Wuhan Lab Researcher’s Wife Died Of COVID-Like Illness In December 2019, Former Lead US Investigator Says

The wife of a Wuhan lab researcher working on coronaviruses died of what appeared to be COVID-19 in December 2019, the leader of a State Department investigation under the Trump administration told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

It would have been an early clue that the virus could be transmitted among humans, yet Chinese authorities said that the virus was not transmissible for at least a month after they knew it was, allowing it to spread, according to David Asher, who led an investigation on COVID-19’s origins and served in the State Department under Democrat and Republican presidents. Physical distancing between students will no longer be in effect in higher education institutions as of the fall semester, under certain conditions, Minister Danielle McCann announced Monday afternoon.

The rule will apply to classrooms and common areas in CEGEPs and universities. The distancing will also be lifted for extracurricular activities.

However, to do so, 75% of 16-29 year olds will need to have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. As of Monday, about 42% of 16-29 year olds are currently vaccinated, according to Dr. Horacio Arruda.

In addition, the epidemiological conditions must be stable.
