Reader’s Links for May 23, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    Hannes Wessels

We are probably few in number but for those of us Africans, of all races, who have long been hoping something would change for the better, the future may never have looked bleaker in my humble opinion.

Since independence, I think it is safe to say that the quality of governance in sub-Saharan Africa, has gone from bad to worse and we must surely boast some of the most corrupt and incompetent regimes in the world. The hope that many of us clung to that South Africa, with all the systems, structures, expertise and resources inherited at the advent of black majority rule, would provide a shining light on the dark continent, have been effectively destroyed. If anything, the incompetence and corruption, endemic to the north, has not only been emulated, it has been surpassed to new, dizzying heights.

With delinquent regimes abounding and no internal mechanisms such as the rule of law effective in altering the behaviour of African leaders, the only hope lay in the application of external pressure by more responsible governments and institutions that had leverage over our rulers.

This was always a real possibility because virtually every country south of the Sahara, with the possible exception of Botswana and Namibia, is dependent on financial and other forms of support from foreign sources.

In the main, this assistance has been forthcoming in vast quantities over the past 50-60 years from the Western democracies and their financial affiliates such as the World Bank and the IMF (International Monetary Fund). However, unfortunately, the normal rules that apply between creditor and debtor seem not to apply in this context and billions, nay trillions, have been squandered and stolen over the last sixty years and while the recipient countries are worse off than ever, those that have plundered the proceeds of this largesse, have not been held accountable.

A root cause of the problem lies in the fact that throughout the post-colonial period, racial discrimination against whites has long been condoned, even incorporated in law, because it has been seen by the world as an understandable corrective action required to right alleged wrongs of the past – a deserved quid pro quo for the crimes of colonial oppression dumped on the white minorities who never asked to be born in Africa, not the citizens of the Mother nations who scrambled for Africa and occupied it in the first instance. The fact that these policies have forced the exclusion of people of European descent from every spectrum of the private and public sector where they contributed mightily, out of all proportion to their small numbers, with ruinous results, has been accepted as inevitable collateral damage.

Against this backdrop, I watch developments in the United States under the Biden administration with dismay tinged with a sense of hopelessness. By admitting the accusations forthcoming from extremist, Marxist movements such as Black Lives Matter are accurate, he has conceded that his country is inherently racist and therefore bound to make amends in a variety of ways which may include reparations for slavery.

While I look at these events from an African perspective, not lost on me, are the implications, for the country many of us have looked to for so long, for strong, principled leadership and decisiveness in protecting and keeping what used to be known as the ‘Free World’ free. And with China becoming ever more assertive in the global domain, as she grows her economic and military power, America is increasingly challenged. Now, thanks to her new president, admitting that he leads a country that is a racist, genocidal hellhole, they have lost the important moral high ground in meeting the growing threat.

When US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a summit in Alaska in March, the Chinese delegation led by his counterpart found themselves on solid ground. He chastised the Americans for having the audacity to criticise China for human-rights violations stating, “the United States does not have the qualification to say that it wants to speak to China from a position of strength” because “the challenges facing the United States in human rights are deep-seated, such as Black Lives Matter.” These “human rights violations” are “admitted by the U.S. itself.” The problem is, the Chinaman is right. With China rampaging through Africa, plundering its resources, we Africans must now know, there will be no meaningful resistance from the US.

But, thanks to the Americans, our problems do not end there. Our leaders have not missed the rapid spread of a ‘corrective’ culture embraced at virtually every level of governance in that country where basically, saying ‘no’ to a black person is absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances, making it extremely difficult and sometimes dangerous, for a white person to resist any demands made upon him or her, by a black person.

On the back of this sentiment the enforcers of law and order have been neutralised by the acknowledgement of the administration of endemic racism in the country’s police forces which was an influential factor in the conviction and incarceration of Derek Chauvin on charges that he caused the death of the serial criminal, George Floyd. Bellicose calls to ‘defund the police’ are being made countrywide, policemen are retreating rather than tackling crime where black suspects are involved and the stage seems set for lawlessness to spread throughout the land.

Black Africans in power everywhere are watching this and smiling; they know the same will apply to them on an international level; all they have to do is cry colonialism, apartheid and slavery and the money from a guilt-ridden West will continue to pour forth while they persist with their awful misrule.

The damage done by the despots that has visited death, poverty and misery on hundreds of millions of blacks, is not only set to continue, but will probably reach new levels of atrociousness.

Woke wisdom in the Western democracies has concluded that colonialism is a crime against humanity. One day, probably when it is too late (if not so already), these fools will recognise that the true crime against humanity was the decolonisation of Africa that replaced the rule of law and sound governance with the rule of terror by the big chiefs who care for nobody but themselves and their personal Swiss bank accounts.

  2. The bush man spoke limited English.
“I do not wear mask,” he said before jumping into my truck. “You ok wit dat?” His accent was thick like the cloud of black flies we drove into. In the week since I had last been up here the Dragon flies had emerged, hungrily feasting in nature’s balancing smorgasbord.
“Yes, I’m ok.” We drove further into the forest. I would show him a job for which I needed his heavy equipment. We had to move dirt, buildings, and do a burn.

Free radicals need not have university educations or expansive vocabularies. In fact we know our learning institutions have become places for indoctrination into collective ideology. Savvy narrative drivers graduate into their chosen fields, trained to capture political power within the professional organizations they enter. There is no need for further explicit instruction once these political missiles are released from their alma mater. Their animal instinct to attain power is all that is needed from that point on.

Once we arrived on site we did our survey. The flies were worse in the deep bush. Later at home I would stop counting the bloody bites I got from the little bastards. The springtime bloom of life exploded here with all the energy of an atomic detonation. It is nature’s way. There is no narrative in nature because there is no human mind governing it. Narratives, or lies, i suppose are unique to the human mind. This may seem like a ridiculous statement, but to a collectivist it is an offensive notion because it usurps the power structure created by their delusions. Seeing the world only the way you wish it is more a mental illness, not a political contest. When collectivists try to inject nature with narrative they invariably create but variations of Lysenkoism. Is there anything more dangerous done by humans? And now we see them trying to lower the CO2 in the air as the climate is cooling. Over on USA Watchdog I refrained from posting a segment of a man who claims the Western drought is caused by cloud seeding. I thought it too nuts a story to perpetuate. We are so awash in scientism narratives nowadays that we are drowning in them. Only the highest form of human arrogance, stupidity, and delusion can see what it wants to see to such a wrongheaded degree. (Conversely we can argue over whether collectivist leaders are cognizant of their power-play fictions, but what would be the point of debating what merely amounts to supreme cynicism?) Only a collectivist so yearns for power that he justifies killing over one-hundred million people. It was Joseph Stalin who said, “…One death is a tragedy, one million dead is a statistic…”

“Da bug not so bad,” said the bushman with a wave of his hand across his face. Bush men don’t wear shorts and t-shirts no matter the heat of the day. Only city folk out of touch with nature think they will go from the city to the hills at this time of year and not suffer the consequences. I was glad that I at least wore socks with leather shoes and not my sandals. Otherwise I was a walking deli.

The collectivist lusts for power, the bushman for autonomy. I guess this is why he chooses the bush. We, here, are all bushmen.

I showed him my trail camera photos of the moose that had wandered the camp over winter. “Dey h’are da real owner ‘ere,” he said.

As I drove him back to his place I told him how few break-ins I had had since I had installed the cameras. I lamented how few police came up this way, telling him that I couldn’t even summon them a couple of years back when some delinquents had abandoned a stolen car on the property.

“–But now dey ‘ere every day,” he said.
“Yes, it’s true,” I said. “I saw two police cars in the village last weekend. I wondered why. That’s more cops than I’ve seen up here in seventeen years.”

“Last year, la, I get call from guy. ‘Ee say I do bad job. I go see. ‘Ee drunk and maybe ‘igh on drug. ‘Ee say ‘ee gonna kick da shit outta me. I call cop. Dey say dey no come up. Cocksuckers. Now dey ‘ere every day fer da curfew, la. I tell d’em dat’s enuff. You want cuff me? Cuff me, I say. I tell d’em enough of d’is bullshit, la.”

I have a friend who won’t lie to his dog because he knows the lie will register as a negative in the dog’s mind, and trust will be lost. Animal intelligence is quite sufficient to see through lies, eventually. No matter the sophistication of the narrative, it is ultimately laid bare by nature’s way.

The animal intelligence of the free radical wins every time, eventually.

  3. Still no sign of the belgian COVID-Rambo.. he’s now wanted by Interpol.

we now fear a terrorist attack by Jürgen Conings!
    https://www.archyde.com/we-now-fear-a-terrorist-attack-by-jurgen-conings/
Master Corporal Jürgen Conings, 46, a sniper and instructor at the Peutie barracks, but also a far-right sympathizer, remains considered a very serious security threat (Ocam keeps him at level 4) . Interpol has also launched an international wanted notice with a red notice.
    [..]
Recall that the individual, listed by Ocam since February 17, as a “potentially dangerous right-wing extremist”, is heavily armed: he has at least one P 90 submachine gun (capable of piercing bulletproof vests) and a handgun. He hinted in a letter that he wanted to attack institutions and virologists. He would also have confided in a friend about his willingness to carry out an attack in a mosque in Eisden (the Nieuwsblad quotes the Tevhid mosque). We saw him prowling Monday night in the neighborhood of virologist Marc Van Ranst, whom he had already threatened by name on social networks last summer.
If the research has focused so far in the park of Upper Campine, not far from his home in Dilsen-Stokkem, it is because a hunter has found his abandoned car nearby. On board, we found four rocket launchers (single use) as well as a device suggesting that the vehicle was trapped.
    [..]
On Thursday, moreover, an investigating judge was appointed in this case for “attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons in a terrorist context”. Friday evening, a search was carried out at the home of the fugitive to take a DNA sample.
    [..]
Jürgen Conings is the country’s most wanted man, but not everyone’s enemy. He can obviously count on the support of a few citizens.
On Saturday afternoon, some 150 people gathered in Maasmechelen, in show of support. The marchers notably displayed “No License to Kill” signs and denounced “corrupt politicians” as well as “media lies”.
    [..]
“Among these or among those making supportive comments would be the military!” », Tells us Alain Grignard, former commissioner of the anti-terrorism division of the federal police. He is shocked.
    [..]
If it turns out to be true that there are soldiers in these support groups, there is a very big institutional problem. They must be fired immediately! Or else, they take to the bush and follow in Jürgen’s footsteps ”. Our colleagues from Nieuwsblad contacted one of the founders of this Facebook page “Als 1 achter Jürgen”, created on Thursday. “Jürgen needs mental support and guidance, not a full army to pursue him,” he told them. “All we ask is that Jürgen Conings get a fair trial. For the avoidance of doubt, we do not allow Jürgen to steal weapons and utter verbal threats to certain individuals (…) ”.
    [..]
According to the Morgen, Jünger Conings also frequented the circle of the Vlaamse Legioen, an extreme right-wing group which meets on the side of Zutendaal, not far from Dilsen-Stokkem where the fugitive lives. Emmanuel, the leader of the Vlaamse Legioen (he is also the former president of the nationalist group Voorpost) rides in a pick-up flanked by a Nazi symbol. He was arrested (with his partner) in December 2020 as part of the investigation into the arson at the center for asylum seekers, committed in 2019 in Bilzen.

    – Excerpt from a book authored by a former prison guard in Xinjiang’s internment camps –

Among the state secrets she read in papers stamped ‘Classified Documents from Beijing’ was the real purpose of the Xinjiang camps as outlined in a three-step plan.

Step one for 2014–2015 was to ‘assimilate those who are willing in Xinjiang, and eliminate those who are not.’

Step two (2025–2035): ‘After assimilation within China is complete, neighbouring countries will be annexed.’

Step three (2035–2055): ‘After the realisation of the Chinese dream comes the occupation of Europe.’

      • CDC investigating reports of heart inflammation in young vaccine recipients

    • global news – U.S. CDC looking into heart inflammation in some youths after COVID-19 vaccination

Some teenagers and young adults who received COVID-19 vaccines experienced heart inflammation, a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory group said, recommending further study of the rare condition.

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices in a statement dated May 17 said it had looked into reports that a few young vaccine recipients, predominantly adolescents and young adults, and predominantly male, developed myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle.

The condition often goes away without complications and can be caused by a variety of viruses, the CDC group said.

CDC monitoring systems had not found more cases than would be expected in the population, but members of the committee on vaccinations felt that healthcare providers should be made aware of the reports of the “potential adverse event,” the committee said in the statement.

It did not say how many people had been affected and recommended further investigation.

Dr. Amesh Adalja, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, said vaccines are known to cause myocarditis and would be important to monitor to see if it is causally related to the vaccine. It is important to look at the risk-benefit ratio, he added. “Vaccines are going to unequivocally be much more beneficial outweighing this very low, if conclusively established, risk.”

The CDC said the cases typically occurred within four days after receiving the mRNA vaccines. It did not specify which vaccines. The United States has given emergency authorization to two mRNA vaccines, from Moderna Inc and Pfizer/BioNTech .

Israel’s Health Ministry in April said it was examining a small number of cases of heart inflammation in people who had received Pfizer’s vaccine, though it had not yet drawn any conclusions. Most of the cases in Israel were reported among people up to age 30.

Pfizer at the time said it had not observed a higher rate of the condition than would normally be the case in the general population and that a causal link to the vaccine had not been established.

Pfizer and Moderna did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Saturday.

The CDC in late April, after news of the Israeli investigation, said it did not see a link between the two.

Earlier this month U.S. regulators expanded authorization of Pfizer and BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine to children aged 12 to 15.

The New York Times earlier reported on the CDC statement.

      https://globalnews.ca/news/7887052/us-heart-inflammation-teens-vaccine/

      • DAILY MAIL – CDC investigates dozens of reports of heart inflammation in teenagers and young adults that occur four days after their second dose of Moderna or Pfizer vaccines

CDC looking into reports that a small number of teens and young adults vaccinated against the coronavirus that may have experienced heart problems

Condition, known as myocarditis, results in an inflammation of the heart muscle which can occur following certain infections

Problems have been occurring four days after the second dose has been given

Dozens of cases have been reported to the agency in recent week

It is not yet clear which vaccine might be responsible, Moderna or Pfizer

The agency’s vaccine safety group was sparse in details, saying only that there were ‘relatively few’ cases and levels were similar to normal

Group also said that the conditions may be entirely unrelated to vaccination

The CDC is said to be reviewing the reports and is still in the early stages of examining the data before it can determine for sure whether there is a link between the vaccine and sudden heart condition.

Doctors were first alerted to the possible link between myocarditis and vaccines on May 14. The working group then reviewed the data on myocarditis on May 17.

The cases seem appear to be be occurring mainly in adolescents and young adults around four days after their second dose.

The symptoms also seemed to be affecting males more than females.

‘Most cases appear to be mild, and follow-up of cases is ongoing,’ the vaccine safety group said. The C.D.C. strongly recommends Covid vaccines for Americans ages 12 and older.

Guidance has been posted on its website for doctors to be on the alert for the heart symptoms which are unusual among young people.

‘It may simply be a coincidence that some people are developing myocarditis after vaccination,’ said infectious disease specialist Dr. Celine Gounder to the New York Times.

‘It’s more likely for something like that to happen by chance, because so many people are getting vaccinated right now.’

The symptoms include fatigue and chest pain alongside arrhythmias (a problem with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat) and cardiac arrest.

The CDC say that so far, the numbers of those reporting myocarditis is no greater than would normally be seen in young people.

The agency’s vaccine safety group decided to communicate the information to vaccine providers out of an abundance of caution.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has been administered to those 16 and above since December. while the Food and Drug Administration has since allowed children between the ages of 12 and 15 to receive the jab.

So far, more than 161 million people across the country have been vaccinated with around 4.5 million of them between the ages of 12 and 18.

More than 600,000 American children between ages 12 and 15 were vaccinated against COVID-19 last week, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr Rochelle Walensky said during a Tuesday White House briefing.

U.S. regulators last week authorized Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for use in children as young as 12.

That widened vaccine eligibility to about 17 million more Americans, a step that U.S. officials would hope speed the nation’s progress toward herd immunity.
