Reader’s Links for April 14, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

Western nations, especially the United States, make themselves incredibly easy to attack by creating laws that make it so. Just think. All an enemy has to do is throw a few million at existing organizations like “The Southern Poverty Law Center” or “Black Lives Matter” or any of a thousand virulently anti-American NGOs, give them a little nudge every now and then, and watch as they take advantage of their privileges and do the invading for you. Those organizations should be dealt with by the FBI but in America, they seem to have every right in the world to sell out their own country, so they do…

What you’re seeing in these street riots is great crowds of traitors, eager to take a handful of gold for selling out their own country and worthy of short trials and even shorter punishments. In past times they would have been rounded up and hanged or even sent to Australia…

  2. Hitler is to Stalin…
    “Grand Strategy, Part III (1939-1940)”
    by J.R. Nyquist – March 18, 2021

    Excerpt:

In fact, the first historian to properly recognize Stalin’s genius was Stephen Kotkin, the latest of Stalin’s biographers, whose first volume on Stalin (published in 2014) ended with a striking tribute to Stalin’s unique abilities. Kotkin understood something that Topitsch had grasped thirty years earlier; namely, that Stalin was no friend to flashy or “spectacular public appearances.” Stalin did not make himself into a human lightning rod, like Hitler. He understood how to do important things without drawing attention to himself; for example, how to make a communist system function by famine, mass arrests, and purges, while retaining devoted followers around the world. None of his colleagues could have done it, says Kotkin. And there can be little doubt Kotkin is right. Stalin’s grasp of politics was without equal, whether he was dealing with Trotsky and Zinoviev or Churchill and Roosevelt. He lured Hitler into playing the unfortunate role of aggressor in Poland and then proceeded to his own aggressions unmolested. Incredibly, the impotent Allied powers that denounced these aggressions ended by allying with Stalin – helping the Soviet dictator to further conquests in the heart of Europe and Asia.

Stalin, noted Topitsch, was “a master of the undercover game, of indirect action.” He was patient. He let others give their intentions away while keeping his own intentions to himself. He pretended to give Hitler what the Germans needed, realizing that he was leading them into a trap from which they could not escape. Everything was carefully considered. (Even now, Stalin serves as a model for Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping.) From the point of view of Western statesmanship, Stalin’s character is not easily understood. “The sly, mistrustful Georgian probably did not confide even to his close associates what he knew, intended or desired,” stated Topitsch.

      Excerpt:

It can be argued that Western strategists, in reckoning their Eastern adversaries, have forgotten with whom they are dealing. The communists in Russia and China are part of a global network of political crime and subversion. Whatever their internal squabbles in the past, they are working together, even now, for socialism on every continent. They are coordinating their policies in Africa, Latin America and inside the United States. Their inhuman ruthlessness was best characterized by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, who described Soviet socialism as a “sewage disposal system” for disposing of human beings. As George Orwell said of man’s socialist destiny, “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face – fore ever.” Igor Shafarevich concluded, at the end of his book on socialism, that “one could regard the death of mankind as the final result to which the development of socialism leads.” And then there is Eric Voegelin, who described Karl Marx as a charlatan and a liar. “Yes,” noted Voegelin, “Marx was an intellectual swindler.”

Candidly speaking: Putin, Ukraine and the Jews

Thirty years ago, I would never have visualized myself supporting closer relations between Israel and Russia.

The international crisis created by Putin’s military incursion into Crimea has also served to highlight, again, Russia’s relationship to the Jews. The Russian president has included radical nationalism and anti-Semitism in the Ukraine as major justifications for his intervention.…

I have personal experience of the feral anti-Semitism which pervaded the region from my direct dealings with senior Soviet authorities in the campaign to free Soviet Jewry, which was the central focus of my public life for many years. I have no doubt that both in the Ukraine and Russia, a substantial proportion of the population continues to hate and fear Jews.

Yet today it is almost surreal, particularly when recalling the major contribution of Soviet Jewish dissidents toward the downfall of the Evil Empire, to observe President Vladimir Putin, the authoritarian former KGB official, displaying overt friendship toward Jews and Israel.

We are under no misapprehensions. Neither Russia nor Ukraine are democracies. But on a relative scale, the corruption and xenophobia currently dominating Ukraine is more extreme than in Russia, where Putin has suppressed anti-Semites and repeatedly made friendly gestures to the Jewish community….

In this he displayed total indifference to the powerful anti-Semitic elements in Russian society.

Putin is a nationalist and his primary motivation is to restore Russia as a global power. This is what propelled him to intervene in Georgia and now in Ukraine in reaction to what he regards as a threatening NATO intrusion in his sphere of influence and on his borders. Russians compare this reaction to Kennedy’s 1962 response to Khrushchev’s effort to introduce missiles into Cuba.…

Since gaining independence in 1991, Ukraine has spawned thriving xenophobic rightwing parties which are alleged to have spearheaded the revolt against the corrupt President Viktor Yanukovich.… [T]hese are genuine neo-Nazis who employ swastika symbols and are openly anti-Semitic.…

However, a number of Ukrainian Jewish oligarchs and the Jewish umbrella body known as the Vaad insisted that anti-Semitism posed no threat and called Putin a liar.

One of the “chief rabbis”, Rabbi Yaacov Bleich, a Karliner-Stoliner Hassid from New York, even accused the Russians of dressing up as Ukrainian nationalists and engaging in anti-Semitic provocations.…
      [Judaic Lupus]

Long before the confrontations with the US, Putin indicated that he respected Jews and made great efforts to display friendship to Israel. He has already paid two state visits to Jerusalem, the most recent immediately after his reelection in June 2012. He repeatedly expressed pride that former Russians make up Israel’s largest immigrant group.

He visited the Kotel – the Western Wall, even donning a yarmulke, which would have made his Bolshevik predecessors turn in their graves. He seemed utterly indifferent to the fact that this outraged Islamic groups in Israel and abroad.

This does not mean that Putin is a philo-Semite.

He is above all, a Russian nationalist. Nor is Putin an ally. He has provided lethal weapons to those seeking our destruction and is considered an ally of both Iran and Syria.

Yet he is also far more of a realist than US President Barack Obama and must be under no illusions about the threat Islamic fundamentalism represents to his country. He must also be concerned about the repercussions facing Russia should Iran become a nuclear power.

As a result of his disastrous foreign policy, President Obama has now paved the way for Russia to reassert itself into a possibly more dominant position in the Middle East than at the height of the Cold War. US support for the Muslim Brotherhood even alienated Egypt, which now seems to have also joined the Russian camp.

Unlike Obama, whose partners no longer feel he can be relied upon, Putin has demonstrated his ability to stand up and deliver on behalf of his allies.…

      AIPAC leadership losing the plot

The American Jewish leadership’s downward spiral has accelerated. This can be traced back to its cowardly silence when US president Barack Obama began treating Israel as a rogue state and applying moral equivalence to Israelis and Palestinian terrorists.

The leaders of the Reform and Conservative movements and the Anti-Defamation League have effectively become adjuncts of the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. Many have become so obsessed with hatred of US President Donald Trump that their bitterness supersedes their support for Israel.

CNN director: Matt Gaetz reporting is ‘propaganda’ to ‘hurt him’ because he’s ‘a problem for the Democratic Party’

    Project Veritas video via Twitter

The funny thing here, if you want to call it that, is that the CNN technical director seen in new video clips from Project Veritas brings up the Gaetz-themed reporting as an example of what propaganda is.

You can’t make this stuff up. Charlie Chester is asked in the video to define propaganda, and his example is what CNN has been doing to Matt Gaetz.

Trending: Cartoon of the Day: Pork-astucture

The National Pulse has a transcript: “If the agenda say, is to like get, like Matt Gaetz right now, he’s like this Republican. He’s a problem for the Democratic Party because he’s so conservative and he can cause a lot of hiccups in passing of laws and what not. So it would be great for the Democratic Party to get him out.”

Chester continues, “So we’re going to keep running these stories to keep hurting him and make it so that it can’t be buried and just like settled outside court just and like, you know, if we keep pushing that, it’s helping us (CNN).”

The “settled out of court” presumably refers to the allegations CNN and other outlets have been running that make it sound as if Gaetz is the target of a big Justice Department investigation. (An aide recently interviewed by the FBI appeared to think that whatever probe is being done of Gaetz may well have been prompted by the media, rather than arising organically through law enforcement interest.)

  7. BBC – AstraZeneca vaccine: Denmark ceases rollout completely

Denmark has ceased giving the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid vaccine amid concerns about rare cases of blood clots, the first European country to do so fully.

The move is expected to delay the country’s vaccination programme by several weeks.

Drug watchdog the European Medicines Agency last week announced a possible link with clots but said the risk of dying of Covid-19 was much greater.

Several European countries had previously briefly suspended the jab.

Most have now resumed vaccinations with AstraZeneca, but often with limits to older age groups.

On Tuesday, the US, Canada and the European Union paused the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for similar reasons over clotting.

South Africa has also paused its use, despite the Johnson & Johnson being its preferred vaccine because of its effectiveness against the South African variant.

For both AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson, the blood clot side effects are extremely rare.

The EU’s vaccine roll-out has been criticised by the World Health Organization (WHO) for being too slow, and there are concerns this latest delay could throw it into further turmoil.

Both vaccines work by a similar method, known as adenoviral vectors.

Danish officials said that all 2.4 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine would be withdrawn until further notice.

In a statement, the Danish Health Authority said studies had shown a higher than expected frequency of blood clots following doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Director General Soren Brostrom said it had been a “difficult decision” but Denmark had other vaccines available and the epidemic there was currently under control.

“The upcoming target groups for vaccination are less likely to become severely ill from Covid-19,” he said. “We must weigh this against the fact that we now have a known risk of severe adverse effects from vaccination with AstraZeneca, even if the risk in absolute terms is slight.”

However, the authority said it could not rule out using it again at another time.

Almost one million people in Denmark have been vaccinated, with approximately 150,000 of them receiving the AstraZeneca jab.

The Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines are also in use.

Denmark was the first country to postpone use of the AstraZeneca vaccine in March. It was followed by numerous other European countries.

In a separate development, the European Commission said Pfizer-BioNTech would deliver an extra 50 million doses to the EU in the next few weeks.

Commission President Ursula von de Leyen also said the EU was discussing a new deal with Pfizer-BioNTech to deliver 1.8 billion doses in 2022 and 2023 which would all be produced within the EU.

So far 27 million people in the EU have been fully vaccinated.

global news – AstraZeneca vaccine still safe despite ‘stronger link’ to blood clots, Health Canada says

Health Canada will not be changing its recommendations for AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine despite new evidence suggesting a “stronger link” to blood clots, the agency’s chief medical adviser said on Wednesday.

“We didn’t find any specific risk factors, such as age or sex, so we are therefore not requiring that the vaccine label be updated to restrict the use of the vaccine at this time,” Dr. Supriya Sharma said.

In response to the new evidence, she said Health Canada has updated warnings on the vaccine’s label “so that Canadians can be informed of the side effects.”

After completing a safety review, Health Canada concluded the adverse events were “possibly linked to the use of the vaccine”, an assessment Sharma said was “consistent” with other international regulators.

  8. A joke from 1930

This joke is taken from The Gentleman In The Parlour, a 1930 book by by Maugham W. Somerset:

It appears that on one occasion Monsieur Paderewski was pressing upon Mr. Wilson, Mr. Lloyd George and Monsieur Clemenceau the Polish claims on Danzig.

“ If the Poles do not get it,” he said, “ I warn you that their disappointment will be so great, there will be an outbreak and they will assassinate the Jews.”

Mr. Wilson looked grave, Mr. Lloyd George shook his head and M. Clemenceau frowned.

“But what will happen if the Poles get Danzig? ” asked Mr. Wilson.

    M. Paderewski brightened. He shook his leonine mane.

“ Ah, that will be quite another thing,” he replied. “Their enthusiasm will be so great, there will be an outbreak and they will assassinate the Jews.”

President Biden is at the crossroads of the legacies of former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, and taking a completely different approach. He is under pressure from a wave of opposition from both parties to give concessions to the Iranian regime. The mullah’s lobbyists want concessions under the pretext of preventing Iranian access to the atomic bomb….

The Iranian regime never stopped chanting Death to America, and they mean it. This is a regime which has killed over 500 U.S. service members in Iraq through its support of terrorist militias and use of IEDs.

Experts emphasize the return of the United States to the negotiating table, concurrent with concessions to the Iranian regime, will not help the Iranian people at all, and also emboldens the regime and puts Middle East peace in danger. The US soft gesture towards Iran comes at a moment when the miserable state of the people of Iran…

Now the question is — who should take the first step of reconciliation? The Iranian regime has shown that it has no intention for the language of compromise and wants to advance its line through blackmail.…

To end this, we must learn lessons from history and past events should be our beacon. We must remember the path of diplomacy with Hitler in World War II. The Biden White House’s official fact sheet for its trillion-dollar infrastructure plan linked directly to a page on Joe Biden’s campaign website, an apparent ethics violation.

The fact sheet posted on WhiteHouse.gov directed readers to the “Climate Plan” section on Biden’s website, which includes multiple prompts for political contributions. Rep. Victoria Spartz (R., Ind.), who first flagged the political link on Thursday, sent a letter to the Office of Special Counsel calling for an immediate investigation. The link potentially violates the Hatch Act, which bans federal officials from using their official positions to engage in partisan activity.

“This prohibition extends to soliciting campaign donations and posting a link to the website of a partisan candidate leading directly to a donation or contribution page,” Spartz said in the letter, pointing to Biden’s donation prompts and call to “defeat Republicans across the country.”

The White House acknowledged Spartz’s complaint on Thursday and said the link’s inclusion was an error. “The link was in error—we think an errant copy/paste—and that’s our mistake,” said Biden director of digital strategy Rob Flaherty, who during the Trump administration said the White House was run by Nazis.

The Chinese regime is on its way to becoming a “near-peer competitor” for the United States and is the “unparalleled priority” for the country’s intelligence community, the U.S. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) said on April 14.

“China increasingly is a near-peer competitor, challenging the United States in multiple areas while pushing to revise global norms in ways that favor the authoritarian Chinese system,” Avril Haines said at a Senate Select Committee on Intelligence hearing in her first public testimony since being confirmed in January.

The regime “poses an increasingly formidable challenge to the U.S. role in global affairs,” she added.

Haines’ remarks build upon an annual threat assessment by intelligence agencies released yesterday that cast the Chinese communist regime’s push for global power as the leading threat to U.S. national security.

  19. (Richard: The facts as presented in the story say this incident was caused by inadequate training, many of the big cities don’t properly train their officers in the use of firearms. This incident sounds like this is what happened.

An example of the inadequate training is what happened (several times) in LA in hte 80s, LA was still issuing double action revolvers to the officers. Some of the officers were getting into situations where the drawn weapon wasn’t threatening enough to make the criminals back off and were cocking the revolver. (Cocking the revolver means using your thumb to pull the hammer back to the full cock notch and taking your thumb off the hammer) After the incident had calmed down the officers didn’t know how to uncock (lower the hammer) safely and would holster their weapon and go hunting an officer who knew ho to do this. Instead of doing the sensible thing, retraining all of the officers the City of LA took all of the revolvers and milled off the full cock notch so they would only fire with the long trigger pull. )

The now-former police officer who fatally shot a 20-year-old man in Minnesota on Sunday was charged on April 14 with second-degree manslaughter.

Kimberly Potter, 48, was charged by Washington County Attorney Peter Orput.

Potter was arrested at approximately 11:30 a.m. by Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and later booked into the Hennepin County Jail, where she will await her first court appearance in the shooting of Daunte Wright.

“Certain occupations carry an immense responsibility and none more so than a sworn police officer,” Imran Ali, Washington County assistant criminal division chief and director of the Major Crime Unit, said in a statement.

  20. Wall Street, Corporations Team Up with Soros-Funded Group to Pressure States Against Election Reforms

Wall Street firms, multinational corporations, and giant law firms are teaming up with the Brennan Justice Center, which is heavily funded by billionaire George Soros, to pressure states against reforms to their election process.

After Georgia lawmakers passed sweeping reform legislation to protect the state’s elections, including requiring photo identification to vote, corporate executives have blasted the move and many are suggesting they will boycott the state by moving business elsewhere.

Now, Fortune 500 corporate executives, Wall Street firms, and attorneys at some of the nation’s largest law offices are reportedly working with the left-wing Brennan Justice Center to pressure state lawmakers from passing similar election reforms.

The corporate coalition is seeking to sue states for passing such reforms while also threatening to pull their business endeavors from states that do pass reforms.

  21. Barack Obama is Stepping Out of Shadows to Aid Biden’s Struggling Presidency
    4-5 minutes

Former* President Barack Obama is returning to the public limelight to give the Biden administration a much-needed booster.

The extremely disconnected and often absent current president, who is constantly stalked by vice president Kamala Harris, shies away from press conferences and avoids unscripted exchanges with reporters, will be getting Obama’s star power to rescue a major Biden administration program.

On Sunday, Obama will be hitting the airwaves on NBC to plug an hour-long endorsement of the Biden vaccine rollout. It has taken a major hiccup with the “pause” of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was tied to at least six cases of a rare blood-clotting disorder out of 7 million doses.

This article originally appeared in PJMmedia.com.

Formally introducing his cabinet to the public, Joe Biden proudly declared: “This is the first [time] in American history that the Cabinet looks like America.” Looking at the actual appointments and not just the gender, skin color and ethnic origins of the Biden team, it is a team that may look like America but doesn’t think like America. In fact, it is a team whose outlook is anti-American.

Take Biden’s Vice Presidential choice, Kamala Harris, whose antipathy for America oozes from her every pore. At a February 2019 presidential campaign stop, for example she said Columbus Day should be replaced with “Indigenous People’s Day” because “we are the scene of a crime when it comes to what we did with slavery and Jim Crow and institutionalized racism in this country.” This is an accurate summary of the way the Biden White House views its native land, and it is a view encapsulating three big lies.

Joe Biden puts the Communist regime in a triumphal mood.

Last month in Anchorage, Chinese diplomats Wang Yi and Yang Jiechi subjected Biden’s secretary of state Anthony Blinken and national security advisor Jake Sullivan to lengthy verbal barrage. For all its fury, China’s triumphalist rhetoric was only the sequel to an even deeper humiliation.

In February, China subjected U.S. diplomats in the PRC to “anal swab tests.” In this routine, a Chinese doctor sticks a swab two inches into the rectum and rotates it several times, an invasive procedure to say the least. Chinese Dr. Li Tongzeng claims the anal swab is a more effective test for Covid-19, but UCLA microbiology professor Omai Garner says the respiratory test is the “gold standard.”

A new administration places Iran and Palestinians on par with the Jewish State.

It seems that the Trump era ‘honeymoon’ in US – Israeli relations is over under the new administration of Joe Biden. The US is now prepared to go back to previous policies of so-called ‘evenhandedness’ between Israel and the Palestinians. Furthermore, the Biden administration appears to return to the Obama administration policy of appeasing the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Last week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken briefed Israel’s Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi about the Biden administration’s plan for the indirect talks with the Iranians in Vienna. He said that he did not believe the meeting would bear fruit. The New York Times reported (April 6, 2021) that, “The United States and Iran agreed through intermediaries on Tuesday to establish two working groups to try to get both countries back into compliance with the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.” At the moment there is a battle of wills. The Iranian officials claim that they can return to compliance fairly quickly, but demand that the US must first lift the sanctions. The US wants the Iranians to move first to return to compliance before sanctions are eased. The Iranians, it should be said, refused to deal directly with the Americans.

A presenter, Jorge Pacheco, at a California ethnic studies training session told teachers that they need to be “extra careful” about what teaching materials the parents see.

In Santa Clara County, California a training session was held for teachers about the new ethnic studies curriculum.

The presentation began with a “land acknowledgment”, this is a statement about the land a course is taught on. In the case of Santa Clara this “land acknowledgment” claims that the school occupies the territory of the Muwekma Ohlone Nation.

    6-8 minutes

A group of six House Republicans Tuesday will introduce a constitutional amendment aimed at setting the number of Supreme Court justices at nine in a reaction to calls from Democrats to pack the court and a commission ordered by President Biden to study the topic.

The proposed amendment, first obtained by Fox News, is sponsored by Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., along with Reps. Chris Jacobs, R-N.Y., Ken Buck, R-Colo., Mo Brooks, R-Ala., Ted Budd, R-N.C., and Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla.

Biden’s 36-member commission would study not just adding justices to the court but also other potential reforms as well, including “the length of service and turnover of justices on the Court; the membership and size of the Court; and the Court’s case selection, rules, and practices.”

  27. GOP Sen. Cornyn questions if Biden is ‘really in charge’
    Houston Keene
    3 minutes

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, questioned Monday if President Biden is “really in charge” as the president keeps a much lower profile than his predecessors.

Cornyn questioned the president’s leadership in a Twitter thread aimed at Biden’s sparse media presence where he shared a link to a Politico article on the Biden administration’s communications strategy.

VP KAMALA HARRIS TAKES ANOTHER SOLO CALL WITH WORLD LEADER

Cornyn quoted a portion of the article that pointed out Biden “is not doing cable news interviews” and that his “limited” social media posts online are “unimaginably conventional” when they do come.

“The public comments are largely scripted,” the excerpt continued. “Biden has opted for fewer sit down interviews with mainstream outlets and reporters.”

BIDEN AIMS TO REDEFINE WORD ‘BIPARTISAN’ AS DEMS WORK TO PUSH SPENDING BILL WITHOUT ANY GOP VOTES

Cornyn then said the administration’s communications strategy of keeping Biden out of the limelight raises the question if the president was really at the helm of his administration.

“Invites the question: is he really in charge?” wrote Cornyn.

In the Politico article, White House deputy communications director Kate Berner said the administration’s communications strategy “is based on innovation in the digital space, flooding the zone in regional and coalitions press, and effectively using traditional national media.”

Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny has threatened to sue the prison in which he is jailed, accusing it of withholding the quran – a holy book he intended to study while serving his sentence.

In an Instagram post announcing his first lawsuit against prison officials, he said: “The thing is, they’re not giving my quran.”

He added that “deeply studying” the quran, which is the central religious text of Islam, was one of several “self-improvement” goals he had set for himself while in prison.

  30. USA – Spy agencies still don’t know ‘when, where, or how” COVID was first transmitted – US Intel chief

US Director of national intelligence Avril Haines confirmed that the US intelligence community still doesn’t know the origins of COVID-19. The comments came during a hearing of the senate select committee on intelligence in Washington DC on Wednesday.

“So, it is absolutely accurate that the intelligence community does not know exactly where, when, or how COVID-19 virus was transmitted initially. Basically, components have coalesced around two alternative theories. These scenarios are it emerged naturally from human contact with infected animals, or it was a laboratory accident,” stated Haines.

The US director of national intelligence also spoke at length about external threats from abroad listing China among other nations.

“Starting with China, which is an unparalleled priority for the intelligence community. But we also look at Russia, Iran, and North Korea in that context,” she said.

Later in the hearing, CIA director William Burns touched on the US military situation in Afghanistan.

“When the time comes for the US military to withdraw, the US government’s ability to collect and act on threats will diminish. That’s simply a fact,” remarked Burns.

    SOUNDBITES:

SOT, Avril Haines, US Director of national intelligence: “So, it is absolutely accurate that the intelligence community does not know exactly where, when or how COVID-19 virus was transmitted initially. Basically, components have coalesced around two alternative theories. These scenarios are it emerged naturally from human contact with infected animals, or it was a laboratory accident as you identified. That is where we are right now, but we are continuing to work on this issue, and collect information to the best we can to give you greater confidence in what the scenario is.”

SOT, Avril Haines, US Director of national intelligence: “The annual threat assessment describes an array of threats we are facing in the coming year. Beginning with those emanating from key state actors. Starting with China, which is an unparalleled priority for the intelligence community. But we also look at Russia, Iran, and North Korea in that context. China increasingly is a near peer competitor, challenging the United States in multiple areas, while pushing to revise global norms in ways that favour the authoritarian Chinese system. China is employing a comprehensive reproach to demonstrate its growing strength, and compel regional neighbours to acquiesce to Beijing’s preferences. Including its claims over disputed territory, and assertions of sovereignty over Taiwan.”

SOT, Avril Haines, US Director of national intelligence: “I think there’s just no question, as a general matter, that China is focused on achieving leadership in space, in fact, as compared to the United States and has been working hard on a variety of different efforts in this area to try to contest what has been presumed our leadership in these areas.”

SOT, William Burns, CIA Director: “When the time comes for the US military to withdraw, the US government’s ability to collect and act on threats will diminish. That’s simply a fact.”

Donald Trump Goes After Supreme Court – Tells Them Biden’s Court Packing Will Be “What They Deserve”
    What’s Happening:

Trump still appears pretty upset over how things turned out in the 2020 Election.

The 45th president appealed to the Supreme Court several times. Yet the court, despite a conservative majority, refused to even hear the cases (despite the fact that the courts often weigh in on election disputes).

Now, with Biden in power, it is possible he will erode the influence and authority of the highest court in the land. And Trump is not pulling any punches on the Supreme Court.

Vessel identified as Hyperion said coming under missile attack near port of Fujairah, sustains minor damage

An Israeli-owned vessel came under attack off the Emirati shores, the al-Mayadeen channel reported on Tuesday, citing sources on the ground.

The unconfirmed report identified the ship as Hyperion, owned by the Tel-Aviv-based RAY SHIPPING company.

The privately-owned vessel said to be targeted near the Emirati port of Fujairah, where it was heading from Kuwait, according to maritime tracking websites.

Israel’s Channel 12 cited security sources as blaming the attack on Iran, adding that the vessel sustained light damage in a missile attack.

  34. the gateway pundit – YouTube Suspends Conservative Outlet Rebel News Over 3 Month Old Video on Censorship (Watch it Here)

Canadian conservative outlet Rebel News has been suspended from uploading, posting or live streaming on YouTube for one week over a three month old video about censorship.
Rebel Media has 1.45 million subscribers on the platform.

The video they were suspended for was ironically titled “If Big Tech can silence Trump, they can silence anyone”.

“This comes after YouTube’s decision last month to demonetize us (to ban all ads and donations). That knocked a $400,000 hole in our annual budget,” Rebel founder Ezra Levant said in a statement about the suspension. “I’m worried that YouTube plans to completely shut us down within weeks. (And I know a certain Canadian prime minister who would like that to happen before he calls an election.)”

Rebel has published 15,000 videos on YouTube in the last six years, without ever before receiving a strike or suspension.

Levant noted that YouTube claims that video violates their “election-related misinformation policy.” That policy reads in full:

“Don’t post content on YouTube if it fits any of the descriptions noted below: Presidential Election Integrity: Content that advances false claims that widespread fraud, errors, or glitches changed the outcome of any past U.S. presidential election.”

Rebel Media countered that “our video just didn’t do that. It wasn’t about election fraud at all — it was about Big Tech banning Trump from social media. The closest that video comes is showing Trump’s short video message telling Capitol Hill protesters to go home. But showing that video can’t be the problem — that exact same Trump video is currently on dozens of other YouTube news channels, such as CNN.”
