Reader’s Links for March 23, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Terrified for NYC’s Future

I have lived in New York City my whole life – and I fear it will never recover.
Tue Mar 23, 2021 Ronn Torossian

This year has been a tremendously difficult year. Covid-19 was – and remains – scary and awful.

For so many New Yorkers, what has also been awful over the last year has been watching the destruction of New York City – undoubtedly in large part because of a pair of egomaniac buffoons: Mayor Bill De Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo.

New York City is a fragment of itself – abandoned stores and empty streets. The city that used to never sleep is in a slumber. After a year in which the city permitted looting and rioting, in which kids remain largely out of school, in which crime is rising rapidly and so many of us are afraid to walk in the streets, the city is largely shuttered and in disarray. Streets are filled with crime, the homeless are everywhere — and so many New Yorkers have left.

“If I can make it there, I can make it anywhere” now seems to be a punishment of how many extra barriers one needs to encounter in NYC to succeed.

Contrast that with Florida which is wide open, where the Mayor tweets asking people what help they need to succeed, and it’s easy to understand why so many of New York’s finest have moved in the past year.

(Richard: Pay close attention to the article, it tells the fate of all of the liberal run big cities, the politicians have played identity politics to remain in office. This hunger for power has forced the Big Cities into policies that favor the poor and uneducated and drive the educated hard working people away. The left calls this White Flight but the well educated successful People of Color are also leaving the liberal run Big Cities because they are sick and tired of living in crime ridden hell holes where the criminals have more rights then the honest hard working people.

Back in the 60s I read dystopian SF novels about cities where the poor neighborhoods were walled in to prevent the gangs from taking over the Cities. in In 1981 Kurt Russel stared in Escape from New York, in 1996 he stared in Escape from LA, both showed a future where the Big Cities were hell holes that the honest people had fled. Now the rich from the Big Cities are lamenting the way their cities have turned into the dystopian cities of the novels nd films.

I wonder how many of those lamenting what has happened to the Cities they say they loved spent their entire adult lives donating to the politicians that have destroyed the big cities?

I also wonder how long it will be before the various Democrat Militias establish little autonomous zones where they are the law? How long will it be before the Middle Classes and the upper lower class will leave the Big Cities in search for safety?

  2. Ex-Miami Heat Team Coordinator Donates Championship Ring to Group with Ties to Terror

Ancel Pratt III says his ring brought in $10,000 for ICNA project.
Tue Mar 23, 2021 Joe Kaufman

Joe Kaufman is a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center and the Chairman of the Joe Kaufman Security Initiative. He was the 2014, 2016 and 2018 Republican Nominee for U.S. House of Representatives (Florida-CD23).

Ancel Pratt III, during a video interview with South Florida anti-gay imam Shafayat Mohamed, the founder and principal of the radical Darul Uloom Institute, revealed that he donated one of the Championship rings that was given to him, when he worked for the NBA’s Miami Heat. Normally, this would be considered an extremely generous gesture, especially given the uniqueness and rarity of the item. However, the group the ring was donated to was ICNA, the US arm of Jamaat-e-Islami, South Asia’s largest Islamist organization with numerous ties to terrorism. Pratt should not be praised for this donation. Instead, he should be investigated for it.

Ancel Pratt, a.k.a. Abdus Salaam, is the Florida Director of Operations for Emgage, an Islamic extremist group that attempts to disguise its sinister motives as political advocacy. Prior to this, he spent years with the Miami Heat basketball team, where he held the job as Community Affairs Coordinator. While with the Heat, he was gifted two Championship rings, for the 2006 and 2012 winning seasons. He would have had another Championship ring for 2013, but just before the playoffs began, according to him, he was “recruited away” from the team by Heat star Dwyane Wade, to work at Wade’s private foundation.

  3. When Cultural Appropriation and Historical Revisionism Are Acts of War

“If the Jews leave those places, the Zionist idea will begin to collapse.”
Tue Mar 23, 2021 Caroline Glick

Two weeks ago, a bus filled with veteran Israeli generals from the Bithonistim, a grassroots national security organization, slowly made its way up the slopes of Mt. Ebal in Northern Samaria to visit a biblical-era site that was severely damaged by a Palestinian Authority contractor in late January.

They came to draw the public’s attention to the strategic implications of the war the Palestinians are waging against Jewish history.

The site was excavated between 1980 and 1989 by the late Professor Adam Zertal, who identified it as Joshua’s Altar as described in the Books of Deuteronomy, (27; 1-9) and Joshua (8; 30-35). The animal remains at the site contained thousands of burnt bones of year-old male, exclusively kosher, animals. They were burned in an open flame 3,250 years ago—the time generally identified as the period of ancient Jewish settlement of the Land of Israel under Joshua. Other remains found at the site included earrings and scarabs made in Egypt at the time of Ramses II, the Egyptian pharaoh often associated with the story of the Exodus from Egypt.

As Zertal explained in a lecture in 2013, the altar was buried under a layer of rocks, in keeping with Jewish prescriptions for preventing the desecration of abandoned holy sites. In keeping with the biblical narrative, the altar is made of unhewn stones; instead of steps, there are two ramps for the priests to alight to the platform—blocks of plaster were found nearby. The altar at Mt. Ebal also matches a Talmudic description of an altar from the Second Temple period, around 900 years later, indicating a continuity of Jewish practices throughout the biblical period.

Richard: the article is mainly photos showing the tow of them together.

The Daily Wire article talks about how the White House Doctor has said something is wrong with Biden after the fall. This may mean that my prediction that they would keep Biden as Pres until early February 2023 may be wrong. Especially since Russia and Chi9na are pushing for a Permanent % summit about Biden’s recent actions recent actions deploying nuclear capable bombers to Norway and Portugal.

We all knew Biden wasn’t going to last 4 years but I didn’t think he would be removed this quickly.

  5. China’s Pattern of Anti-U.S. Hostility
    Lawrence A. Franklin
    9-12 minutes

One particularly aggressive and obvious indicator of Chinese hostile military intent occurred in the East African country of Djibouti, where both the U.S. and China have military facilities. Two U.S. Air Force pilots flying a C-130 transport sustained injuries from a laser originating in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Support Base at the Port of Doraleh. China’s pattern of hostile acts against U.S. interests seems indicative of a deep-seated antipathy for American values, including its democratic form of government, rule of law, and respect for human rights. While the U.S. and China could, theoretically, cooperate on areas of common interest, the enduring norm seems to have been, at least on China’s part, one of fierce confrontation, similar to the Cold War with the Soviet Union.

The Danish government has announced a package of new proposals aimed at fighting “religious and cultural parallel societies” in Denmark. A cornerstone of the plan includes capping the percentage of “non-Western” immigrants and their descendants dwelling in any given residential neighborhood. The Danish government has announced a package of new proposals aimed at fighting “religious and cultural parallel societies” in Denmark. A cornerstone of the plan includes capping the percentage of “non-Western” immigrants and their descendants dwelling in any given residential neighborhood. The aim is to preserve social cohesion in the country by encouraging integration and discouraging ethnic and social self-segregation.
