Italians defy lockdowns, open restaurants by the thousands: Links 1, January 17, 2021

1. Explosion 40 minutes from DC. Witnesses think this might be an Amazon Data centre

2. Once again, we do not know if this video is legit, or if this man really has a medical condition that causes this, if it was from the mRNA treatment being pushed as a vaccine. It could be fraudulent as there are agencies determined to muddy the waters of information on all important things out there. But this is the second video of this sort seen in 24 hours. And using the exact same ‘precautionary principle’ that led to the total removal of all our freedoms, the prudent thing is to put it out there in case it is real.

3. Welp. The machinery in DC and the world is clearly now set back to evil. Iran gets to tell the UN what can and cannot be said about its nuclear program again.

4. Iraqi Migrant Deported from Denmark for the 17th Time

A 30-year-old Iraqi migrant with Swedish citizenship has been deported from Denmark for the 17th time after coming to the country consistently for drug deals.

The 30-year-old Iraqi man was arrested earlier this week and police have demanded that not only he be deported from the country but that he should be banned from Denmark for life.

(At this point he must be using deportation as a free ride back to his suppliers)

5. Italians actually rebel, open restaurants by the thousands as government attempts to destroy the economy further and likely for an unknown amount of time. (“Two weeks to flatten the curve”. Always say that when some believer gives you an end date for these measures)

Though much of Italy remains under strict coronavirus restrictions, restaurants and bars have opened their doors in protest. Customers drank, ate, sang, and in one viral video, apparently booted the police back out the door.

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte extended the country’s three-tier coronavirus restrictions on Friday, imposing a nationwide 10pm to 5am curfew until March and forbidding travel between Italy’s 20 regions until February 15. These measures were originally implemented in November, and were set to expire on Friday.

You can pull up data for COVID 19 immunization. You would compare data say for anaphylaxis and acne to data for other vaccines. There are four times as many reactions ad adverse events, so some people are evidently recording multiple side effects for one event.

    • I would go with what gets recorded in the VAERS website because it’s pretty easy to add data.
I know more and more people who have had the vaccine and are waiting for their second one with relief.

  1. https://tnc.news/2021/01/14/one-year-since-who-claimed-no-human-to-human-transmission-of-coronavirus

Exactly one year ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) falsely claimed that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus.

“Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China,” the WHO tweeted on January 14, 2020.

Since then there have been over 93 million coronavirus cases worldwide and nearly two million people have died as a result of the virus. In Canada, 687,000 people have contracted the coronavirus and 17,508 deaths have been reported since the pandemic began.

The erroneous claim, which was based on false reports by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP,) was spread by the global organization despite the fact that China was hurryingly buying up the world’s personal protective equipment supply.

Meanwhile, Canada has not been immune to China’s influence on the coronavirus narrative.

As the pandemic was surging throughout the country, Liberal Health Minister Patty Hajdu echoed CCP talking points and discouraged closing Canada’s borders.

“The praise I offered China during the early days was based on their historic containment efforts. Don’t forget that there were millions and millions of Chinese people under, essentially confinement, if you will, for a very long time and in fact in some of those cities people are just getting back to normal and that was a public health measure that was never seen before,” said Hajdu defending her remarks.

Hajdu’s enthusiasm for China was so forthcoming that the Chinese foreign ministry praised the minister for her support.

“We noticed relevant reports and applaud the Canadian health minister’s objective and fair remarks,” said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin.

According to a report by the US Department for Homeland Security, the CCP “intentionally concealed the severity” of the virus while it was restricting exports of medical supplies and hoarding up goods abroad.

Even by February 2020, the WHO continued to advocate on China’s behalf, encouraging international allies to not ban flights from China, claiming that it would “unnecessarily interfere with international trade.”

Since then, critics have accused the international organization of kowtowing to Chinese interests.

A 2020 study by the University of Ottawa and the Université de Sherbrooke revealed how the WHO promoted Chinese narratives over focusing on the hard facts of the situation.

“It is difficult to distinguish World Health Organization recommendations based on science and expertise versus political recommendations,” the report says.

“For example, China’s actions were praised on multiple occasions by the WHO without scientific background and context.”

Researchers found that the WHO’s contradictory messaging and public relations failed to reduce stress and misinformation.

  2. COVID Lockdowns May Have No Clear Benefit vs Other Voluntary Measures, International Study Shows
BY NATALIE COLAROSSI ON 1/14/21 AT 11:41 AM EST
    https://www.newsweek.com/covid-lockdowns-have-no-clear-benefit-vs-other-voluntary-measures-international-study-shows-1561656

A study evaluating COVID-19 responses around the world found that mandatory lockdown orders early in the pandemic may not provide significantly more benefits to slowing the spread of the disease than other voluntary measures, such as social distancing or travel reduction.

The peer reviewed study was published in the European Journal of Clinical Investigation on January 5, and analyzed coronavirus case growth in 10 countries in early 2020.

The study compared cases in England, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the U.S. – all countries that implemented mandatory lockdown orders and business closures – to South Korea and Sweden, which instituted less severe, voluntary responses. It aimed to analyze the effect that less restrictive or more restrictive measures had on changing individual behavior and curbing the transmission of the virus.

The researchers used a mathematical model to compare countries that did and did not enact more restrictive lockdown orders, and determined that there was “no clear, significant beneficial effect of [more restrictive measures] on case growth in any country.”

“We do not question the role of all public health interventions, or of coordinated communications about the epidemic, but we fail to find an additional benefit of stay-at-home orders and business closures,” the research said.

However, the researchers also acknowledged that the study had limitations, and noted that “cross-country comparisons are difficult,” since nations may have different rules, cultures, and relationships between their government and citizenry.

The study was conducted by researchers affiliated with Stanford University, and was co-authored by Jay Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine and economics who has been a vocal opponent of coronavirus lockdowns since March.

Bhattacharya was also among a group of scientists who wrote The Great Barrington Declaration, a controversial statement that encouraged governments to lift lockdown restrictions to achieve herd immunity among young and healthy people, while focusing protections on the elderly.

For additional context, other studies have oppositely determined that lockdown orders have effectively saved millions of lives.

    England Lockdown
A new study shows that mandatory lockdown orders may not provide more significant benefits to curbing the spread of COVID-19 vs voluntary measures such as social distancing and travel restrictions. Here, one pedestrian walks on the pavement in central London in the morning on March 24, 2020 after Britain ordered a lockdown.

A study published in the journal Nature by researchers at Imperial College London in June found that some 3.1 million deaths had been averted due to lockdowns across Europe early on in the pandemic.

“This data suggests that without any interventions, such as lockdown and school closures, there could have been many more deaths from COVID-19. The rate of transmission has declined from high levels to ones under control in all European countries we study,” Dr. Samir Bhatt, an author of the study from Imperial College London said in June, according to the university.

“Careful consideration should now be given to the continued measures that are needed to keep SARS-CoV-2 transmission under control,” he added.

A second study published alongside that report in Nature, and led by scientists in the United States, found that 530 million coronavirus infections had been avoided due to early lockdowns in China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, France and the United States, according to the news outlet.

Mandatory lockdown orders have also been a highly politicized issue across the U.S.

Some Republican leaders, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, have vehemently opposed state or nationwide closures to curb the spread of COVID-19. In Democratic states, including New York and California, lockdown orders have been a consistent part of the coronavirus response since March.

According to a poll released by Vox and Data for Progress on December 24, more than half of Americans said they would support a nationwide lockdown for one month.

But President-elect Joe Biden said in an interview in November that he had no intention of implementing a national shutdown when he takes office on January 20.

“I’m not going to shut down the economy. I’m going to shut down the virus,” Biden said. “There is no circumstance which I can see that would require a total national shutdown. I think that would be counterproductive.”

As of Thursday, the United States had recorded over 23 million COVID cases and 385,178 deaths since the start of the pandemic, according to Johns Hopkins University.

“At approximately 10 p.m., (Loudoun County Fire Rescue) units from the Sterling, Ashburn, Kincora, Moorefield and Fairfax County North Point fire and rescue stations were dispatched for a reported structure fire at 45781 Maries Road in the Sterling District. The structure on fire appeared to be an old barn or storage type structure on an undeveloped parcel of land across the street from the Sybase Data Center.”

“Incoming fire and rescue units received a report from an (Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office) unit on the scene that the structure was fully involved with fire. An explosion occurred as the first units arrived which appeared to be a propane cylinder. LC-CFRS units initiated a rapid exterior attack on the fire with master stream devices and concurrently established a water supply from one fire hydrant at the data center and another hydrant further down Maries Road. Due to the advanced state of the fire, all suppression operations were from an exterior position.”
