Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    “Turkey rescued nearly 80 asylum seekers, including a group pushed back by the Greek Coast Guard into Turkish territorial waters in the Aegean Sea, a security source said Monday.

    Nineteen asylum seekers were stranded on a dinghy due to an engine breakdown and were rescued off the coast of Marmaris district in Turkey’s southwestern Mugla province, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

    Another group of 34 asylum seekers were rescued by the Turkish Coast Guard, who were conducting a routine patrol off the coast of Bodrum district in Mugla province.

    Separately, another Turkish Coast Guard team was dispatched off the coast of Ayvacik in northwestern Canakkale province to rescue 26 asylum seekers.

    The asylum seekers were trying to reach Greece’s Lesbos (Midilli) Island on a dinghy and a life boat…”

    “At least 26 more people with suspected links to the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind the 2016 defeated coup, have been arrested in Turkey’s northwest, a security source said on Monday.

    An operation against the terror group’s infiltration in the judiciary and military was launched in 11 provinces as part of a probe by prosecutors in Edirne province, said the source, requesting anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

    Arrest warrants were issued for several individuals and anti-terrorism teams arrested suspects in Edirne, Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Tokat, Konya, Bayburt, Trabzon, Isparta, and Siirt provinces, the source added.

    FETO and its US-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016 in Turkey, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

    Ankara accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.”

    “The Open Arms rescue ship with 265 sub Saharan migrants on board has reached Porto Empedocle, near Agrigento. The vessel, run by a Spanish NGO, will not dock in the port but will be reached, aboard cutters, by Usmaf doctors who will test the migrants for coronavirus.

    Once the results come back, according to plans, the 50 minors reported to be on board will be allowed to disembark and will be taken to Porto Empedocle. Police officials will be waiting for them at the port with two buses.

    The minors who will test negative for Covid-19 will be transferred to the hosting center Villa Sikania in Siculiana, near Agrigento, where their health will be monitored. The other migrants, some 215 adults, will be moved to the quarantine ship Rhapsody docked off Porto Empedocle.”

    White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said in an interview on Fox News that the Jan. 20 date of Inauguration Day could be changed.

    Navarro made the remarks on “Justice With Judge Jeanine” on Jan. 2, in the context of a recent call by 11 Republican senators for Congress to appoint an electoral commission to conduct an emergency 10-day audit of the election results.

    Program host Judge Jeanine Pirro asked Navarro about his expectations for the effort, saying, “All this has to happen before January 20. Do you have any hope that this can succeed?”

    “Vice President Pence, he has the authority to give that 10-day window to do what needs to get done,” Navarro said. “I cannot imagine when he looks at the facts he won’t vote the right way on that.”

    Pirro responded by saying that the “10-day window” could change the date for certification of electoral votes planned for the Jan. 6 joint session of Congress, chaired by Pence, when lawmakers certify the votes cast for the U.S. president by members of the Electoral College.

    “January 20 cannot be changed; that’s constitutional,” Pirro added, presumably referring to Section 1 of the 20th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which states: “The terms of the President and the Vice President shall end at noon on the 20th day of January … and the terms of their successors shall then begin.”

    Chinese leader Xi Jinping has commanded the regime’s military to focus on “preparing for war,” as Beijing looks to make a splash in 2021—the year marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

    In the first order of the year, Xi instructed the forces to ratchet up military training. As chairman of the regime’s Central Military Commission (CMC), Xi is head of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the CCP’s armed forces.

    He ordered the PLA to “focus on preparing for war, deepen the transformation of military training, build a new type of military training system, and comprehensively improve the level of combat training and ability to win,” according to Chinese state media Xinhua.

    The order follows the CCP’s escalation of military confrontations in several areas last year, including on the India-China border, the Taiwan Strait, and the South China Sea.

    DUBAI (Reuters) – Iran has resumed 20% uranium enrichment at an underground nuclear facility, the government said on Monday, breaching a 2015 nuclear pact with major powers and possibly complicating efforts by U.S. President-elect Joe Biden to rejoin the deal.

    Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister of Iran’s arch foe Israel, said the move was aimed at developing nuclear weapons and Israel would never allow Tehran to build them.

    The enrichment decision, Iran’s latest contravention of the accord, coincides with increasing tensions between Iran and the United States in the last days of President Donald Trump’s administration.

    Tehran started violating the accord in 2019 in response to Trump’s withdrawal from the pact in 2018 and the reimposition of U.S. sanctions that had been lifted under the deal.
