Woman arrested in connection with video filmed at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital

Police have confirmed an arrest has been made in connection with an incident at one of the county’s hospitals.

A 46-year-old woman has been arrested after a video was filmed at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and posted online.

Officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary arrested the woman yesterday on suspicion of a public order offence.

She has been bailed until January on condition she does not to enter any NHS premises unless it is for an emergency or an appointment.

The woman has not been named.

  1. Absolutely disgrace what is happening in Europe and beyond, they arresting people for showing the truth.!!!

  2. .”..public disorder offence for sharing an online video of an empty Gloucester Royal Hospital…”

For sharing her opinion about this news:
“Gloucestershire’s two main hospitals and their staff are under “considerable pressure” as the number of people fighting covid within them has risen to 186.

The figure is the highest on record since the pandemic began in March, and the first wave saw 148 people admitted to Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General hospitals with the coronavirus at its peak April.”

Now, ambulances do use hospital side entrances, and patients usually go in alone, isolated with covid.

And regarding the hospital main entrance, and minor injuries unit, being empty of patients. Just maybe because
    1. People are told to stay away unless urgent. Other Hospital Wards have had the virus
    2. Injuries are less frequent when most of the public are in isolation.
3 Clinic staff numbers are reduced and nurses redeployed to say, to administer the new vaccines.
    4. Alternative arrangements had been made to go to another hospital

Nothing in her video informed me of her assertion that reports of their government’s new covid wave or strain wave was fabricated.

The issue of being arrested for a public disorder offence would be to shout “fire” in a crowded theater.

Is she going to encourage people to ignore their Tier 3 lockdown?

    • As an observation, the UK Socialists do apply their Laws unfairly and are deliberately biased.

Black Lives Matter is a public disorder offence. They assert George Floyd was murdered without any trial by jury. They destroy statues and march with police kneeling before them with no one social-distancing. They had internet platforms to spread their racist message of White Guilt.. Actual killers of mind and body. And not a peep.

      And then they arrest Karen.

    • Remember he got miffed with you and I saying we didn’t want to watch a video? That’s when he left. We both told him not to go and just because we were grossed out over something didn’t mean he didn’t do amazing work. Dang, Martin, c’mon back ya big lug.

      • Re Martin: yes, he’s been gone for quite some time.
I noticed Vlad went quiet and no Readers Links.
He does deserve time-off, some rest and fun for a few days.
        I hope everything is O.K.

  3. To be fair, it was a Sunday afternoon and the various outpatients departments we saw would have been closed even without the shortage of staff following positive tests, extended Christmas holidays, etc.

But to arrest her for that and to charge her with a spurious offence is clearly intimidatory. And I’m pretty sure that police here in England have no power of entry to private premises to arrest a person for a public order offence.

    • I should have checked: there is one exception to the rule that police can’t enter your house without a warrant to arrest you for a summary offence … and that’s to arrest you under section 4 of the Public Order Act, headed “Fear or provocation of violence”. So, our options are two: either (1) Gloucestershire police sincerely believed that this lady’s video was likely to cause another person to believe that unlawful violence would be likely to be provoked against him, or else (2) that they abused the provisions of the Public Order Act and entered this lady’s house unlawfully in order to intimidate her and others like her.

      It must be (1).

      • Canada has a “NOT WITHSTANDING” qualifier in our joke of a constitution which serves the same purpose. You have rights, until and unless the government decides they are inconvenient. Then you don’t.
