Reader’s Links for November 22, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Women Assassins of Haqqani Network
    https://www.khaama.com/women-assassinators-of-haqqani-network-876870/

“Muzghan and her Aunt Nasreen are the female assassins who lured an Afghan security official to his death with promises of sex before shooting him dead.

Following the assassination, they dumped his body at a cemetery, the women are among thousands of Taliban affiliated assassinators freed as part of a fragile peace plan, AFP reports.

As ultra-conservative Islamists ban women from many areas of life and are often forced to stay home, but these women were given tasks to become and serve as deadly assassins.

Muzhgan and her aunt Nasreen walked free from jail in September of 2020, following confession to being members of the Haqqani network.

Both women were reported to have been on death row, after several killings including the murder of an Afghan intelligence agent at their home.

Nasreen’s daughter used as bait “under the pretext of selling her body” on the orders of a Taliban commander, AFP quotes a security official.

The agent was cold-bloodedly murdered using a pistol fitted with a silencer; his body was left in a local graveyard inside a metal box.

These women were prolific killers, adept at setting deadly “honey traps and brutal murders, including killings of their own relatives- AFP.

They are involved in murdering two men of their own family who served as policemen; one was poised and the other was killed by the assassin’s magnetic mine.

As it is not common for relatives to opposing sides in Afghanistan’s decades of war.

The pair before their arrest in 2016 worked with other people including Muzhgan’s husband. The assassin group carried out deadly grenade attacks and shooting on a Sufi shrine and their list of murder spree grows.

Prior to her release, Muzhgan said in a recorded video by the authorities, that she “will not join this group again” she confessed to murdering, kidnapping, and cooperating with the “Haqqani Network”.

It is rare for such notorious killers to appear in female bodies, as the Taliban are strictly based on women’s freedom.

Under the prisoner swap agreement of more than 5000 Taliban fighters, 5 are women.

Such cases are almost unheard of in regions such as Afghanistan.

“The Taliban’s norms and ideology firmly relegate women to the domestic sphere,” she told AFP.

“To allow them to take part in, or admit that they played a role in waging the war, would go against core ideological tenets of the movement.” analyst Ashley Jackson from the Overseas Development Institute think tank told AFP.

Taliban freed 1,000 members of the Afghan security forces, but Kabul said many of the Taliban released prisoners have returned to the battlefield.

Nasreen and Muzhgan were among the 400 most dangerous prisoners to be released.

On the other hand, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said, the women were ordinary members of Taliban families detained during American operations.

He said women in the insurgent families do cooperate but are not included, recruited, or “ordered to take part in operations”

Among the released prisoners, Nargis an Iranian national who became an Afghan citizen, a police officer following her marriage with a local man, was convicted of killing a U.S. police trainer in Kabul in the year 2012. It is reported as the first insider attack by the Afghan officials.

According to the Taliban, two other women are from insurgent families, who were released and have now returned to their homes.”

  2. More than 7,300 foreigners granted Turkish citizenship since 2017
    https://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/more-than-7-300-foreigners-granted-turkish-citizenship-since-2017-160251

“Some 7,312 foreigners have become Turkish citizens over the past three years by investing in property in the country, daily Milliyet has reported.

“Turkey started a citizenship program in 2017. In 2017-2018, any foreigner investing $1 million in Turkey can apply for citizenship. Since Sept. 18, 2018, the limit was lowered to $250,000,” the daily reported on Nov. 22.

The data comes after a Turkish citizen asked the petition commission of Turkey’s parliament how many people applied to the program, while criticizing the model.

The commission later replied to the citizen with data from the Interior Ministry.

According to the ministry, in 2017-18, 70 foreigners applied for Turkish citizenship by investing $1 million each. These investors included 26 Iranians, six Yemenis, five Iraqis, four Palestinians, three Chinese nationals, as well as a few Azeris and Afghans. Some individuals from the U.K., the U.S. and Canada also were granted Turkish citizenship during this period.

After the decision to lower the investment quota for citizenship eligibility, the applications skyrocketed.

After September 2018, some 7,242 foreigners from 93 countries made property investments in the country, each investing $250,000.

In the second investors group, 1,690 Iranians lead the list. Some 994 Afghans, 920 Iraqis and 786 Yemenis follow suit.

According to the data, three Germans, 71 U.S. citizens, two Argentines, 10 Australians, five Brazilians, 17 Britons, 10 French citizens and 31 Canadians invested in property before applying for citizenship.

There have also been applications from smaller and more remote countries, including 20 from St Kitts and Nevis, 10 each from Antigua and Barbuda, individuals each from Belize, Djibouti, Comoros, Mauritania, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

There are also two stateless people that got the Turkish citizenship.

Such investments are expected to increase due to the health care measures taken in Turkey against the COVID-19 outbreak, according to the daily”

  3. Turkey deported nearly 9,000 foreign terrorists
    https://www.aa.com.tr/en/turkey/turkey-deported-nearly-9-000-foreign-terrorists/2052281

“Turkey has deported nearly 9,000 foreign terrorists so far, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told the Group of 20 Summit on Sunday.

“Although we were left alone, we have nabbed nearly 9,000 foreign terrorist fighters and sent them back to their countries,” Erdogan said at the virtually organized summit.

“We are the only NATO country fighting Daesh in Syria on the frontline,” Erdogan added.

Turkey does its best to “eliminate the terrorist threat, prevent conflicts and strengthen stability,” in the region, the president added…”

  4. Sweden: New poll reveals considerable shift to political right; Sweden Dems once again lead the pack
    https://rmx.news/article/article/sweden-new-poll-reveals-considerable-shift-to-political-right-sweden-dems-once-again-lead-the-pack

“A new poll has revealed that the right-wing populist Sweden Democrats, the center-right Moderate Party, and the Christian Democrats — the country’s conservative bloc — would garner just over half of the vote if an election were held today.

The poll, carried out by Sentio in November, showed that together, the Sweden Democrats — the country’s top party with 25.2 percent of the vote — along with center-right Moderate Party with 19.8 percent of the vote, and the Christian Democrats with 5.9 percent of the vote, would collect a total of 50.9 percent of the country’s total vote, Nyheter Idag reports.

The numbers reveal that the Swedish electorate’s marked shift to the political right has continued to take place since the 2018 parliamentary election, when the Sweden Democrats jumped from the 6th largest party, with 20 seats in Rikstag, to the 3rd largest party, with 49 seats in the Rikstag. Since the 2018 election, support for the SD-M-KD bloc has increased by 7.3 percent.

Meanwhile, support for pro-mass migration establishment parties like the Social Democrats, the Center Party, the Green party, and the Liberal Party continues to trend in a downward direction.

The Social Democrats, who previously polled at 24.8 percent in October, dropped to 23.3 percent this month. It’s the third month in a row that the leftist-establishment party has lost support.

The Green Party, currently a member of coalition government with the Social Democrats, the Center Party, and the Liberal Party, is now under the parliamentary threshold, with just 3.3 percent support among voters. With all of the coalition’s members performing poorly, the chances of forming a government in the 2022 election seems increasingly slim.

At the same time, the two most important issues for the Sweden Democrats — ensuring law and order and addressing the threat that mass migration poses to the Swedish people – have become increasingly important to the Swedish electorate as well. For example, an Ipsos poll from this year indicates that six out 10 Swedes want to reduce immigration to the country.

According to Novus, an analytical research firm which collects data on public opinion, Swedish voters have become increasingly concerned about issues having to do with law and order and immigration. The firm’s data suggests that, behind healthcare, law and order and immigration are the two main issues Swedes are most concerned about.

Jimmie Åkesson, the leader of the Sweden Democrats, believes that the Social Democrats’ handling of the COVID-19 pandemic has, without a doubt, negatively affected their poll numbers.

“I think it is largely due to the government’s failed corona strategy, where they seem to have learned very little from the spring experiences. Once again, the infection spreads uncontrollably,” Åkesson told Nyheter Idag.

“But then I also think that we have benefited from other issues being given more space during the autumn. Not least the migration policy linked to the work of the Migration Committee, where it is clear that the government’s ambition is to increase immigration again,” Åkesson added”

  5. Bucher says ‘toldya so’ after software maker takes blame in Wellington vote count mess

The supplier of Palm Beach County’s voting and tabulating equipment says a software “shortcoming” led to votes being assigned to the wrong candidates and the elections office declaring the wrong winners in two recent Wellington council races.

County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher, who insisted a computer glitch rather than human error was to blame for the fiasco, claimed vindication after Dominion Voting Systems released its statement.

Wellington and 15 other municipalities held elections on March 13. In Wellington, the ballot was set up with the mayor’s race first, the Seat 1 council race second and the Seat 4 council race third.

Unbeknownst to elections officials, the vote totals for the mayor’s race ended up being reported and later certified as the results of the Seat 1 race. The Seat 1 vote totals were certified as the Seat 4 results and the Seat 4 vote totals were certified as the mayoral results.

The problem wasn’t discovered until six days after the election, during a routine audit. The audit found no similar problems in the 15 other cities that held elections.

The fact that the audit is conducted after winners are certified is a requirement of state law. Bucher said her office “will be working with the state to ask for the necessary law changes.”

The United Nations is now confirming that COVID-19 lockdown tyranny will cause “famines of biblical proportions” in the third-world, with the economic damage caused by illegal government overreach eventually killing far more people than the China plague.

After cheering on extreme lockdown measures for months, the globalists are finally being forthright about the impact that their policies will really have on the disadvantaged and vulnerable.
