Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  1. Seven Soldiers Killed in Burkina Faso Attack
    https://www.thedefensepost.com/2020/11/12/seven-soldiers-killed-burkina-faso/

“Seven soldiers were killed and others wounded or missing after their patrol was ambushed in northern Burkina Faso, the center of a five-year-old jihadist insurgency, security sources said on Thursday.

The troops were attacked on Wednesday between Tin Akoff and Beldiabe in Oudalan province, which borders Mali and Niger, one source said.

“The provisional toll is seven soldiers dead,” the source said, with others wounded or missing.

Another source confirmed the attack, adding that an operation had been launched “to hunt down the assailants” and find the missing soldiers.

Jihadists began making incursions into northern Burkina from neighboring Mali in 2015 in a conflict that has left more than 1,200 people dead and forced more than one million to flee their homes.

The most recent attack was in September when four soldiers were killed.

  2. Democrats Say AT&T, Comcast and Disney Decide Presidential Elections

President Trump took on the companies behind CNN, NBC’s Biden election calls.
Thu Nov 12, 2020 Daniel Greenfield

The first to call the presidential election for Joe Biden was AT&T.

AT&T, through its subsidiary CNN, one of the largest conglomerates in the world with a market cap of over $200 billion, billions of which come from lucrative federal contracts, was the first to claim that Biden was the winner. Beyond government contracts, AT&T has a major stake in the 5G wars and has spent a lot of money investing in the Biden campaign.

AT&T employees were the tenth largest source of contributions to the Biden campaign.

Biden had attended fundraisers at the homes of two AT&T lobbyists, but the ties run deeper.

Steve Ricchetti, Biden’s former chief of staff, and longtime confidant, chaired Biden’s campaign. AT&T has been the only corporate client of the Ricchetti Consulting Group for nine years. Ricchetti has deep relationships with both AT&T and Biden. And if Biden were to take over the White House, AT&T would have its man on the inside to protect its economic interests.

  3. Who Killed Philip Haney?

Why is the FBI withholding information on the DHS whistleblower’s laptop and thumb drive?
Thu Nov 12, 2020 Lloyd Billingsley

In Amador County, California, on February 21, Philip Haney, author of See Something Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad, was found dead from a single gunshot wound. News reports suggested suicide but the local sheriff found “this is not the case.” The death of Haney, 66, was a homicide, the unlawful killing of one person by another. The Amador County sheriff had no suspects but did find some clues.

Deputies recovered “numerous thumb drives and a laptop” from the crime scene, and “those items and numerous other pieces of evidence, were turned over to the FBI.” The sheriff “hopes to complete our review of the reports and compare the FBI’s analysis with what we have already collected and analyzed within a few weeks after receipt.”

That was on July 22, and a week after the November 3 election, nearly eight months after the homicide, the FBI “analysis” has not come to light. The lapse could be partly explained by early reporting on the homicide.

“Haney’s controversial accusations that the Obama administration could have prevented terrorist attacks were polarizing among Americans,” Laura Hoy of CNN reported on February 23. As Hoy explained, “Haney’s death is likely to become political ammo for Republicans heading into the 2020 presidential elections.” Haney’s “death” did not become an election issue because key information failed to emerge from the FBI, which is becoming more like the Soviet KGB.

“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the world has realized that the policy of maximum pressure against Tehran has been ineffective and the era of such policies is long gone.

“All signs in the US and elsewhere in the world indicate that the world has come to realize that (the policy of) maximum pressure does not work and its era is over,” Rouhani said on Thursday while inaugurating over 1,500 educational and medical projects via video links.

He added that the Iranian nation will be able to overcome the pressures and defeat the sanctions through resistance and relying on the guidelines of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei…”

  5. US Administration Dreaming about Fall of Iran Toppled Humiliatingly: Rouhani
    https://www.tasnimnews.com/en/news/2020/11/11/2387391/us-administration-dreaming-about-fall-of-iran-toppled-humiliatingly-rouhani

“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said his American counterpart’s administration that sought the fall of the Iranian establishment has faced a “humiliating” defeat itself.

The US administration that dreamed about the Iranian establishment’s collapse has been toppled humiliatingly, Rouhani said at a cabinet session on Wednesday.

He said the world is faced with new conditions with the defeat of Donald Trump, adding that it would enable the Islamic Republic to strengthen relations with friends and neighbors.

Iran’s foreign relations are based upon ties with the neighbors and friends, he added, noting that the termination of Trump’s administration, which was an obstacle to Iran’s relations with other countries, would pave the way for the Iranian relations.

“We established good relations with certain neighbors such as Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Azerbaijan over the past years, as well as with other friendly countries like Russia, China and others. I feel that the atmosphere for closer relations with all of our friends is more prepared.”

Last week, Rouhani said the next American administration will have no option but to surrender to the Iranian nation.

In remarks in early November, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed that Iran’s policy toward the US would not be affected by the result of the US presidential election.”

  6. Nasrallah Slams US Bans on Lebanese Officials, Says Glad about Trump’s Humiliating Downfall

“The secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement praised Free Patriotic Movement leader Gebran Bassil’s “courageous stance” over US sanctions imposed on him last week.

“Bassil came to inform me and told me the US gave him two choices and that he wouldn’t comply with the demand (to break ties with Hezbollah), because it would compromise Lebanon’s independence and freedom … it was a courageous and patriotic stance,” Nasrallah said during a televised address on Wednesday, the Daily Star reported.

“I advised him to take any position to avoid getting harmed,” Nasrallah said, adding that he offered to help Bassil in “any way we can.”

“Bassil said he didn’t need our help, but wanted to keep us in the loop,” he said.

“We applaud Bassil’s decision,” Nasrallah said, and asked for others to stand in solidarity with him.

Nasrallah lambasted the US for imposing sanctions on Lebanese officials, as two former ministers from two parties were also blacklisted in September.

“With what legal and moral right does the US classify who is corrupt or not? A country that is the leader in terrorism and corruption,” he said.

Nasrallah said that sanctioning Lebanese officials was a sovereign issue and that he would not be happy if his opponents were sanctioned or listed as terrorists, and that it is a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Bassil Friday was blacklisted by the US under the Magnitsky Act for corruption and human rights violations, however in a speech Sunday, the FPM leader revealed that the prime demand of the US was for him to break his alliance with Hezbollah and that there was “no mention of corruption” in his conversations with US officials.

“If you are saying that Bassil is corrupt … if he breaks ties with Hezbollah will he stop being corrupt? You are contradicting yourself,” Nasrallah said addressing the US.

Nasrallah also accused the US for manipulating the dollar currency and using the deterioration of the economy as a weapon to turn the Lebanese people against Hezbollah by holding the group responsible.

He noted that the US largely failed in its mission…”

  7. Sources: Germany Charges 12 in Plot to Attack Muslims
    https://english.aawsat.com/home/article/2621296/sources-germany-charges-12-plot-attack-muslims

“German federal prosecutors have charged 12 alleged far-right conspirators suspected of planning “terrorist attacks” on politicians, asylum-seekers and Muslims, security service sources told AFP Thursday.

Eleven of the men, arrested in country-wide raids in February, stand accused of membership of a terrorist organization and weapons law violations. The 12th has been charged with supporting a terrorist group.

The federal prosecutor’s office could not immediately be reached for comment.

The arrests followed raids, some by heavily-armed special units, which hit 13 locations in six German states.

The four prime suspects planned to spark “a civil-war-like situation… via as yet undefined attacks on politicians, asylum seekers and people of Muslim faith,” federal prosecutors said in February.

The suspects are believed to have founded a “right-wing terrorist organization” with the goal of “destabilizing and ultimately overthrowing” Germany’s democratic order.

A further eight suspects were alleged to have agreed to “financially support the group, provide it with weapons or take part in future attacks.”

In order to plan their attacks, the group allegedly held regular meetings which were coordinated and organized by two of the main suspects, named only as Werner S. and Tony E.

The suspects, all of whom are German citizens, also communicated using messenger apps.

German authorities have increased attention paid to the country’s underground extreme right scene since the murder of conservative local politician Walter Luebcke in June 2019 and an attack on a synagogue in the eastern city of Halle in October last year.

Media reports said police discovered several weapons in the February raids, including one self-made “slam gun” similar to the one used in the Halle attack.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer announced late last year 600 new posts across the federal police and domestic security services to track far-right extremist threats, citing a growing danger.”

  8. Qatar accused of ‘intimidating’ claimants in Doha Bank case, UK court told
    https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/qatar-uk-doha-bank-case-intimidating-claimants

“UK counterterrorism police have been asked to investigate claims that witnesses and claimants in a terrorism funding case were intimidated by Qatari state officials, the High Court in London was told.

The allegations of perverting the course of justice were made during a hearing on Wednesday, where eight Syrian refugees had submitted compensation claims against the Qatar-based Doha Bank.

The claimants fled from Syria to Holland, saying their homes and livelihoods were destroyed by the Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda offshoot now known as Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham. They are now demanding compensation from Doha Bank because the bank was allegedly used to funnel money for the militant group. Doha Bank denies the claims.

None of the eight claimants have been identified. Doha Bank has offices in London, which has enabled the case to be brought in the English courts. The claimants say they have been targeted by the Qatari state because of the action they are taking.

Ben Emmerson, a lawyer representing four Syrian refugees, told the High Court that witnesses in the case faced “harassment, intimidation, pressure, unlawful covert surveillance overseas, threatened visits by armed and masked men during the night, attempted bribery and criminal inducements”.

Emmerson told the court that SO15, the London Metropolitan Police’s counterterrorism command, was given details of the intimidation campaign in the UK and Netherlands.

The court heard that Qatar had ordered officials to bribe witnesses, surveil and harass them. It heard that claimants were paid nighttime visits by masked men.

Qatari officials had also allegedly requested the identity of the refugees despite anonymity orders issued to protect them, the court heard.

Four of the Syrian refugees had stepped away from the trial due to threats of physical harm, the court was told…”

  9. Female Daesh returnee charged with crimes against humanity in Germany
    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20201112-female-daesh-returnee-charged-with-crimes-against-humanity-in-germany/

“A German woman has been charged with crimes against humanity over her alleged persecution of the Yazidi minority under Daesh (ISIS), German federal prosecutors announced yesterday.

The suspect, known only as Nurten J, is believed to be the first woman charged with crimes against humanity for her actions in Syria, Agence Franc-Presse (AFP) reported.

Nurten J, according to a statement by prosecutors, travelled to Syria with her three-year-old daughter in 2015 to the join Daesh.

She later married a German-born Daesh fighter, with whom she had more children.

While living in Syria, Nurten J was frequently visited by a friend who owned a Yazidi “slave”.

The “slave” was forced to clean and tidy Nurten J’s house.

The German suspect faces secondary charges of war crimes against property for living in a house that was forcibly seized from its rightful occupants by Daesh.

She is believed to have lived in at least five different apartments, all of whose former tenants were either killed or evicted.

Nurten J also faces charges for membership of a foreign terrorist group, violating weapons laws and for endangering her infant daughter’s life by taking her to a war zone.

The German woman and her family were captured by Kurdish forces as Daesh lost all its territory in Syria, Associated Press (AP) reported.

The family were eventually taken into deportation custody in Turkey and then sent back to Germany, where she was arrested upon her arrival in Frankfurt Airport in July this year.

It was not immediately clear what happened to the rest of her family and the fate of her children is unknown.

Germany has charged several Daesh returnees with war crimes and crimes against humanity, using the principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows crimes that were committed in a foreign country to be prosecuted for elsewhere.

However, Nurten J’s case is one of only a few brought against female Daesh returnees.

Last year, a German woman was charged for war crimes in a Munich court, over allegations she allowed a young Yazidi girl to die of dehydration in 2015.

Meanwhile, last month a German-Tunisian Daesh widow was jailed in Germany for three and a half years over her membership to the group and her role in enslaving a 13-year-old Yazidi girl.”

  10. SIGAR: Gov’t Poorly Acts against Corruption in Afghanistan
    https://www.khaama.com/sigar-afghanistan-implemented-corruption-measures-over-papers-987987/

“The United States Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) has said that the Afghan government has not taken any serious measures to fight corruption and that all its actions have been on paper.

In a letter to the U.S. Secretary of Defense, U.S. Secretary of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development, John Sopko of SIGAR said the Afghan government must take strong steps to fight corruption.

Sopko emphasized that the Afghan government’s anti-corruption measures should reduce the fraud and bribery; the measures must focus on detaining and punishing corrupt individuals.

SIGAR has stated that the Afghan government has taken limited steps to eradicate corruption, and that reforms in this area have been in line with regulations and meetings.

According to SIGAR, the former head of the Afghan Independent Election Commission (IEC) Yusuf Nuristani — who is one of the main suspects in corruption in the country — has not been dealt accordingly by the government.

According to the Sopko letter, “Abdul Hamid Sharifi, a Member of Parliament, on charges of attempting to smuggle 200,000 euros into the United Arab Emirates; he was later released based on article 102 of the Afghan constitution and his case was referred to the Afghan justice system. This case demonstrates that the Afghan government’s failure to follow up on the March 2020 consultation session that identified article 102 as an immunity loophole perpetuates the culture of impunity for powerful individuals.”

The agency also called on the organizers of the Geneva summit to have full oversight of the transparency of their aid to Afghanistan to prevent it from being wasted.

The agency had previously said in a report that more than $19 billion of the $63 billion in US aid to the Afghan government had been squandered.”

According to Ministry of Defense, ANA repelled the attack and large amounts of Taliban’s ammunition and weapons were seized.

Meanwhile, Kandahar officials say 39 insurgents have been killed in teh province.

Kandahar governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Bahir Ahmadi told the media on Wednesday night that the clearance operation had taken place in several districts.

He added, “In the last 24 hours, clearing operations have been carried out in different districts of Kandahar with the aim of suppressing the enemy”.

“39 opposition members were killed and 18 others were injured during the operation.” Bahir said.

He says that in addition to destroying a minefield, 175 planted mines were discovered and defused.

Bahir also said that a Taliban rocket had hit a residential area in Zherai district of the province, killing four women.

On the other hand, 12 taliban militants were killed and 8 others were wounded in Trinkot and Gizab districts last night,

Mod reports, “A large amount of Taliban’s weapons and ammunition were destroyed as a result of reciprocal attacks,”.”

“At least 42 people with suspected links to the Daesh/ISIS terror group were arrested in Turkey, security sources said on Thursday.

A total of 24 suspects were nabbed in operations by anti-terror teams in Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, and Bursa provinces said the sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspects recruited people for the terror group, tried to bring terrorists from conflict zones into Turkey, and conducted organizational meetings, the sources said.

A shotgun, ammunition, books, magazines, and digital materials were seized in the raids.

In the southern Osmaniye province, 18 more Daesh/ISIS suspects were arrested in operations by anti-terror teams, according to the sources.

The suspects were involved in terrorist propaganda operations and digital materials were seized in the raids, they added.

In 2013, Turkey became one of the first countries to declare Daesh/ISIS a terrorist group.

The country has since been attacked by Daesh/ISIS terrorists multiple times, with 315 people killed and hundreds more injured in at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks, and four armed assaults.

In response, Turkey launched anti-terror operations at home and abroad to prevent further attacks.”

A co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement has asked for a meeting with Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) to urge the duo to give top priority to a “well-thought-out, communnity-driven, fully resourced agenda that addresses the particular challenges faced by Black people.”

Patrisse Cullors, who signed a letter (pdf) to the Democrats in her role as leader of the Black Lives Matter Global Network, said the Biden and Harris ticket’s strong showing in the election rested on the support of black voters, adding, “we want something for our vote.”

She began by congratulating Biden and Harris, referring to them respectively as “President-Elect” and “Vice-President Elect.” While some media outlets have called the race for Biden and Harris, The Epoch Times has chosen to wait until vote tabulation concludes and legal challenges are settled in what has become a contested election, with numerous allegations of irregularities and fraud.

Investigative journalism nonprofit Project Veritas on Wednesday released a recording it claims shows federal agents pressuring a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) whistleblower in Erie, Pennsylvania, to go back on his allegations last week that he overheard superiors discussing a scheme to backdate mail-in ballots.

Mail carrier Richard Hopkins last week claimed that he heard a local postmaster at Erie Post Office, Rob Weisenbach, instruct USPS workers to collect mail ballots they receive after Nov. 3 and hand them over to him to be backdated.

Hopkins, 32, who has since been placed on non-pay status by the post office, signed a sworn affidavit, under the penalty of perjury, containing the allegations. It was received by Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Nov. 7.

  16. Trump Campaign Highlights Alleged Dead Voters Casting Ballots in Pennsylvania

President Donald Trump’s campaign on late Wednesday highlighted several alleged cases of deceased people voting during last week’s presidential election in the key state of Pennsylvania.

“Voter records show someone used the identity of John H. Granahan of Allentown, Pennsylvania to vote in the recent election, even though Granahan died in May 2019,” the campaign said. “The Dusckas Martin Funeral Home and Crematory ran an obituary of Granahan’s death when he passed away.”

The campaign noted that Judy Presto of Southpark, Pennsylvania, died in 2013, adding that “someone registered her to vote in September 2020 and cast a ballot under her name in last week’s election.” It also included an obituary of Presto published by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette at the time.

“Elizabeth Bartman of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania is shown as having registered to vote in September 2020 and cast a ballot in last week’s election, even though she died in 2008,” Trump’s campaign also said. Her obituary was published by the Philadelphia Inquirer 12 years ago.

  17. France: Moroccan migrant with 19 convictions banned from Paris neighborhood for repeated violence against women
    https://rmx.news/article/article/france-moroccan-migrant-with-19-convictions-banned-from-paris-neighborhood-for-repeated-violence-against-women

“A Moroccan migrant living in Paris with a history of violence against women has been sentenced to prison and was banned from the department of Charente-Maritime after he was convicted of physically abusing his ex-partner.

The District Court of La Rochelle late last month sentenced the perpetrator, Hamza, who has nineteen prior criminal convictions —including two prior domestic violence convictions — to ten months in prison, four of which will be a suspended sentence. He is also banned from entering the department of Charente-Maritime for two years, French news outlet Actu La Rochelle reports.

The perpetrator’s convictions and prison sentence comes as a result of physical and sexual violence he inflicted on a woman named Marie between September and October in the commune of Périgny.

The couple first met each other near the end of the summer at a campsite in Vendée. Immediately after meeting, Hamza returned to Périgny with Marie after she offered to help him with the papers he needed for his residence permit. The young woman told the court that instantly, upon entering her home, “he [Hamza] put down his bag and settled in with me”. From there, the situation escalated.

Marie told the court that she noticed and was troubled by Hamza’s regular alcohol and cocaine consumption, as well as what she described as three strange men from Cognac — friends of Hamza — that would regularly visit her home. After repeated failed attempts to make the Moroccan leave her home, and after suffering physical and sexual violence at his hands, Marie, on Oct. 23, filed a formal complaint with the police where she outlined the crimes committed against her. Days later, police arrested the 29-year-old Moroccan migrant.

During the court hearing, Hamza denied any wrongdoing. At one point during the proceedings, he yelled, “I couldn’t get out of the house. I was only allowed to see her. In fact, she is jealous. She was the one who wanted this relationship. Frankly, good luck.”

The public prosecutor, Caroline Fernandez, taking into account Hamza’s extensive criminal record and repeated violence against women, slapped him with an eight-month prison sentence, which was later increased to ten months, four of which were suspended, by the presiding justice.

The judge also banned Hamza from entering the department of Charente-Maritime for two years.

During sentencing, the judge presiding over the case ordered the perpetrator to take the very first TGV train out of the department upon his release.”

Rudy Giuliani, one of President Donald Trump’s personal lawyers, alleged on Nov. 11 that roughly 650,000 unlawful ballots were cast in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Speaking with Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs, Giuliani claimed that “almost none” of the hundreds of thousands of ballots were observed by Republican poll watchers. State election law requires the presence of poll watchers from all parties.

“We now are up to a count of about 650,000 ballots that are unlawful ballots that were cast in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh,” he said. “What’s being said in the mass media, that we have no evidence, is a complete, absolute lie, just like they’ve been lying for years.”

  20. China Squashes a Giant Ant and Nukes Its Financial System

    by Gordon G. Chang

Investors in Hong Kong this week dumped more than $250 billion in Chinese tech stocks. Particularly hard hit were Alibaba Group, JD.com, Tencent, and Meituan Dianping.

The rout followed the stunning postponement of what would have been the largest initial public offering in history. Ant Group Co., Ltd., an Alibaba Group affiliate, was set, with the overallotment option, to raise $39.5 billion.

Investors were valuing the six-year-old company at $359 billion, making it worth more than American-based behemoth J.P. Morgan and the world’s largest bank by assets, the state-backed Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.

On November 3, Shanghai’s Nasdaq-like STAR Market and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange announced the suspension about 36 hours before the scheduled start of trading in Hong Kong. The unprecedented actions shocked domestic and international investors.

The now-accepted narrative is that Ma Yun, the driving force behind Ant, angered Chinese regulators in a speech in Shanghai. Another often-heard explanation was that China’s stodgy state banks, threatened by the lightly-regulated Ant, retaliated. ” A terrorist attack in the northern part of Burkina Faso has resulted in the death of 14 security officers, French media reported.

The security officers were ambushed in the department of Tin-Akof, the Agence-France Presse news agency reported.

“As a result of the ambush against the unit, 13 soldiers and one gendarme have been killed,” a source told the news agency.

The response security operation has left nine terrorists killed.

The northern part of Burkina Faso has been suffering from activities of Islamist groups linked to al-Qaeda* and Daesh* terrorist organisations since 2016.

In August, 20 people were killed and many more were injured at a cattle market in Burkina Faso near the village of Namoungou, in the province of Gnagna.

  23. Veterans Day 2020: The torch we caught, to hold it high
    By J.E. Dyer November 11, 2020

Since 2018, when we passed the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, it has seemed less relevant to commemorate Veterans Day with the annual post we used to use (the last iteration was here).

As we honor military veterans on 11 November, however, I miss an integral element of that old annual post: the John McCrae poem from 1915, “In Flanders Fields.”

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.
