Reader’s Links for November 1, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Russia: Police detain anti-Macron protesters next to French embassy in Moscow

Police detained several protesters rallying against French President Emmanuel Macron in Moscow on Friday, as the backlash on Macron’s comments on Islam continues across the world.

Activists could be seen in the unauthorised protest, trampling on portraits of Macron near the French embassy building in the city centre, and being detained by law enforcement officers.

According to media reports, the French Embassy asked Russian authorities on Friday to strengthen protection for all diplomatic missions in the country.

  2. I wrote a lengthy comment under an October 30th comment that quoted Al-Ahram saying that Israel seized Jerusalem in 1967. Of course, that isn’t what happened. Egypt’s Nasser lied to King Hussein, leaving Hussein without support to back up the Jordanian military, who weren’t interested in fighting. Israeli soldiers made decisions on their own to press forward, rather than merely defending the Israeli sector. They might have realized that the Jordanian soldiers who had expelled Jews from Jerusalem in 1948 were not going to be the ones expelling Jews from the Israeli sector; this time there were armed civilians, eager to use their weapons.

While reading these two accounts, you see that successful battles depend on knowing the truth about your position and the enemy’s. How often will that happen in any dictatorship?

  3. “Pass the butter, please.”
“–I have no idea what he meant by it,” continued Ruth, “but it wasn’t funny at all. I’ve never met anyone who finds himself more entertaining who clearly is not.”
    “Pass the cranberries.”
“So what did you do, then?” said Bill. “I mean, you couldn’t very well stick around after that.”
“Oh, I left. The guy’s a pig, frankly. I mean, he lays bricks for a living, or something like that. Or he’s a contractor of some sort. I mean he’s polite, and not that laying bricks is bad but you know what I mean. It’s that package that you spot from a mile away. Blue collar, inarticulate, no meaningful education, white, some kind of ethnic slavic-like last name. –Trump voter.”
“No I know. You don’t have to explain. It’s like they stamp these guys out from cookie cutters.”
    “Pass the milk.”
Bill passed the cranberries to Little Paul who was consumed by his consuming. “–But how can he be a pig and be polite at the same time?” Little Paul asked. His mouth was full.
“Don’t talk with your mouth full!” said his mother. Big Paul, who was also busy eating, threw a stern glare across the dinner table at Little Paul. Pick your battles, Big Paul thought while cramming more bird into his maw.
“–My friend Susan who works at the hospital says they just slap the Covid on everyone. Doesn’t matter how they went,” said Laura at the other end of the table.
“Really? Why?,” Little Paul’s mother asked.
“Why do you think? Money. The doctors get twenty percent more from the State,
per,” said Laura. “This doctor she said, what’s his name, Greene? Dr. Arthur Greene? He was happy as a lark she said. He’s in charge or something. I guess the hospital gets its cut.”
“I can see it,” said Bill. “Those people won’t hesitate.”
    “Nope.”
    “What’s for dessert?” Jimmy asked.
“You’re not even finished and you’re asking for dessert? Slow down,” said Little Paul’s mother who had done all the cooking.
“It’s really good, Mom,” said Little Paul.
    “Excellent,” Bill echoed.
    “Wonderful,” said Ruth.
“After next week everything can get back to normal, don’t worry. Everyone has had enough. Then they’ll get him on the Russians and the country can close this chapter,” said Michael. Michael was a labour lawyer. “If we’re lucky they’ll bring back Brennan and Clapper and all those guys and clean this mess up.”
“Do you think Melania will go to prison, too?” Laura asked.
“My guess is yes. They should have enough on everyone. The whole gang. Giuliani, Bannon, Carlson–everyone. They’ll have to build new prisons for what’s coming.” said Michael.
“But I heard on T.V. there was no Russian stuff,” said Little Paul.
“Don’t eat with your mouth full I said,” said Little Paul’s mother. Big Paul burned another look at Little Paul. He grunted into his dark meat. He would have to talk to that boy tomorrow. Tonight he would be too tired to get into it all. Not after this meal.
“My friend Mickey Kozlawski says his dad forces him to watch every Mark Levin show,” said Little Paul, ignoring his mother.
“One wonders if that isn’t child abuse,” said Michael, delicately poking at his turkey leg.
“May as well make the kid watch porn,” said Laura.
“Oh, please,” said Little Paul’s mother, “He’s only twelve.”
“Old enough to know better,” mumbled Big Paul, his mouth now full of brussel sprouts.
“Well you’re his father, aren’t you?” said Laura.
“Granpa says the father is never really known,” said Little Paul.
“Where did you get this kid?” Bill asked.
“–Too much time hanging around with that Kozlawski boy,” said Big Paul.
“–Don’t be silly,” said Little Paul’s mother.
“–Was the turkey expensive?” Ruth asked.
“–You’re not supposed to ask questions like that,” said Bill.
“Quite,” answered Little Paul’s mother. “I actually couldn’t believe it, but what can you do? People have to eat.”
“We’re losing farmland at an alarming rate,” said Michael. “–Big food shortages coming if Trump gets in again. Right now he’s driving climate change.”
“I heard that, too,” said Big Paul who now had a lump of cranberry sauce on his chin.
“Where are Doug and Marnie?” Laura asked.
“They agreed to stay away. Social distancing,” said Bill.
“Where does it all end?” asked Ruth.
“It ends November third,” said Michael.
“Mickey Kozlawski’s dad says Trump shouldn’t leave even if he loses ’cause the Democrats are communists,” said Little Paul.
“He’s right,” said Grandpa from the head of the table. Grandpa had some time ago given up on talking much at these family dinners. People spoke over him and became impatient when he took too long to find his words.
    “Grandpa!” Ruth shouted.
“Never mind,” said Little Paul’s mother.
“He’s ninety-one,” said Big Paul. “He’s not all there.”
“Thank you,” said Grandpa. “But I’ve got news for you. I am all here and I know more than you!”
Big Paul ground the insult in the salt he sprinkled over his plate. “I’m sorry, Grandpa, but you can’t relate the world you grew up in to what we have today. They’re completely different.”
“You’re wrong. Nothing has changed. Communism puts on a modern face but it’s the same animal.”
“There you go again, Grandpa. You’re banging that same old drum. A commie under every bed…”
“Hey,” said Grandpa raising his eyebrows at Big Paul, “why doesn’t Trump wear glasses?”
    “Why?” answered Big Paul.
    “Because he’s already got 2020.”

After dinner the men had their Scotch and remained civil. Everyone listened as Michael explained what was wrong with the electoral college and why it would be gone. Little Paul’s mother served pumpkin pie with whipping cream for dessert. When all was done there were no hugs and kisses as the family left. They all thanked Little Paul’s mother for serving the lovely dinner.

Standing at the kitchen sink, the house now finally quiet, Little Paul’s mother stared out the window to the backyard. Lost in thought she caught herself washing the same glass twice. What would happen in the coming week? What would happen to the country? She knew all she could do was to vote, then to hope there were many more like her, like last time. Grandpa understood. He had not said a thing to anyone.

Out on the back porch she watched as a bluejay chased away a black squirrel from the bird feeder.

    • Interestingly, last time around–when I still bothered with Facebook–a pro-Trump discussion on a thread of a former classmate revolved around Trump’s misogyny. I interjected that it’s not against rhe law to be a misogynist, or even a racist, but it is against the law to mis-handle government data. A female professor castigated me, writing that ethics over-rule, and Trump’s misogyny matters more than what Hilary does with her data. It was a lawyer who responded that there are people who honor the law. I messaged him, “How many?” His response: Many. My response: We’ll see if that’s enough. Him: Yes. We will.

How many Americans other than Communist ideologues (and their over-educated minions) want two systems of justice? How many Ameeicans never say anything derogatory and are always articulate? How many Americans value progess towards peace in the Middle East and secure borders, along with preventing economic interference from the People’s Republic of China and terror from the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? How many families of the dead and families of health care providers believe that Trump and Fauci’s varying ideas on wearing masks, travel, and working puts the blame for the Wuhan Flu on Trump? How many Americans now realize the doomed attempt at impeachment wrongly took priority if indeed the US was facing an existential threat? How many Ameeicans blame looting on Trump?

Of course, there are Americans who believe that Trump’s incompetent rule has incited and invited police and virus chaos, disease, and death. The wife of an attorney expressed to me her disappointment that Trump recovered from his bout wirh COVID.

I posit that those of us who are displeased at being a “non-essential worker” and those of us who realize our status as “essential” is fickle will be voting for Trump. Americans ultimately vote based on our wallets, not foreign policy or personality. Hence, the question, “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” needs a more thoughtful answer than it usually does if Trump is to win.

    https://sputniknews.com/world/202011011080942439-two-reported-dead-and-five-wounded-after-stabbing-attack-in-quebec/

“According to preliminary reports from police in Quebec City, they are searching for a man dressed in medieval clothing and armed with a bladed weapon after he attacked multiple people.

Police have said that the deadly assault happened near the National Assembly of Quebec building. Radio Canada reported that at least two people are dead and at least five injured. The suspect, who is now in custody, is “a man in his mid-20s”. He was armed with a sword and dressed in “medieval clothing”, a Quebec City police spokesman said.

“Attention! Shortly before 1 am, the SPVQ arrested a suspect. We are still asking the citizens of Quebec City to stay inside with the doors locked as an investigation is still ongoing”, police say in a tweet.

The authorities have confirmed that five people were sent to a local hospital, but their condition remains unknown.

In the meantime, Radio Canada has reported that the perpetrator has since been hospitalised.

According to the newspaper Le Soleil, the suspect’s car was found near an expensive hotel in the historical part of the city. Police reportedly found bladed weapons and canisters with fuel in the vehicle.”

  5. ‘Rigorous Targeting’: Over 1,400 Daesh Militants Killed or Wounded in UK Drone Strikes, Report Says (sputniknews, Nov 1, 2020)
    https://sputniknews.com/military/202011011080942796-rigorous-targeting-over-1400-daesh-militants-killed-or-wounded-in-uk-drone-strikes-report-says/

“Last month, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) may replace British troops in future warfare, arguing that the country’s enemies had already adapted to modern-day challenges.

An estimated 1,409 Daesh* militants have been killed or wounded by UK Royal Air Force (RAF) drone strikes in Syria and Iraq over the past six years, according to the Defence Ministry’s flight logs released on Saturday. The tally is based on photographic evidence and debris left behind.

The airstrikes were conducted by the RAF’s MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) which were controlled by crews in bunkers based in the UK.

The ministry’s flight logs singled out at least 4,107 sorties carried out by the MQ-9s since 2014, during which Mohammed Emwazi — called Jihadi John and targeted for beheading hostages — was killed in Raqqa, Syria.

The Sun cited a Defence Ministry spokesperson as saying that the British military always seeks “to minimise the risk of civilian casualties through our rigorous targeting”.

The remarks came after UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace made it clear in mid-September that UAVs may replace British troops in the future to crack down on the country’s enemies, who Wallace claimed had already adapted to modern-day challenges.

“Instead of mass and mobilisation, this future force will be about speed, readiness, and resilience, operating much more in the newest domains, in space, cyber and sub-sea, and working to prevent conflict as well as winning it”, Wallace said during a tour of Britain’s newest naval ship, the HMS Tamar, in London.

According to the defence secretary, “the global picture has changed”, and the UK’s foes have already studied the country’s vulnerabilities and “have adapted far more quickly than us”….”

    • Wars aren’t over until some scared kid with a knife on the end of a rifle digs the enemy out of their holes. Trying to use robots to replace infantry just makes the war last long and in the long run costs more lives.

      • Good money in selling them, though.
Competition’s tough. Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh are showrooms for the merchants.

“French police used tear gas to disperse a large gathering of dozens of Turkish ultra-nationalists who were chanting anti-Macron and anti-Armenian slogans in Dijon.

A group of 60 or so members of the group, which appeared to include members of the ultra-nationalist Grey Wolves, marched down the streets of the French city chanting slogans like “Terrorist Armenia”, along with various insults directed at French president Emmanuel Macron and chants of “Allahu Akbar.”

The march took place shortly after 8 p.m. in the centre of Dijon along the Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau and in the theatre district, France Info reports.

Social media users shared videos of the march online, with one user’s video showing demonstrators chanting “Allahu Akbar,” being viewed more than 200,000 times in less than 24 hours.

It wasn’t clear to me if he left Jerusalem before or after the fighting; the second was present during the fighting and seems to have quoted directly from the first. Recently, an account was published of an interview with the Jordanian soldier who erroneously told King Hussein that Egyptian planes were in the air when those were actually the Israeli air force. King Hussein–at that point–erred in believing Nasser that Egypt was winning. (I don’t have that link.)

  12. Following the Islamist attack in Nice, there is only embarrassing silence within the German churches – Rather, one prefers to carry out a reversal of perpetrator and victim

It was a terrible deed, and it took place in a church: three people were murdered on Wednesday in the Catholic Basilica of Notre-Dame in Nice – two women and the sexton. One of the two women was beheaded during prayer. The suspected perpetrator is a 21-year-old Tunisian who is believed to have come to Europe via Lampedusa in September 2019. Witnesses report that the man shouted “Allahu akbar” in the church. Even for hardened politicians and media consumers tired of the constant fire of the Corona news, such a crime is beyond human understanding. Barbaric killing methods, as known from the Islamic state, have finally arrived in France and thus in Europe. Nevertheless, routine consternation or repressed silence dominates in large sections of the public – also and especially in the churches. To be able to solve problems, you have to identify them. The churches are not prepared to do this. They take refuge in the vague, non-binding. Politicians have learned a lesson in that the mother of all rhetorical tranquillisers, the statement that Islamist attacks have nothing to do with Islam, is hardly heard today. Federal Foreign Minister Heiko Maas stated the obvious and wrote: “Radical Islamism kills and must have no place in our society. The Berlin State Secretary with Palestinian roots, Sawsan Chebli, also became clear: “Phrases like ‘This has nothing to do with us’ must stop. Islamists murder in the name of Islam”. Against this background, the collective stammering of the churches emerges all the more embarrassing. The President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Georg Bätzing from Limburg, expressed his ” grief ” and ” horror ” and proclaimed a political morality in which there was no room for either the word “Islam” or the word “Catholic”: “Europe was and is a great project of peaceful coexistence. We must not allow this vision to be destroyed by assassination attempts”. Who the hell is “we”? And who has actually disturbed the peace? It was an Islamist who murdered Christian believers.Bätzing does not want to know anything about the general attack on his own religion and therefore plays it down. His colleague from Bamberg, Ludwig Schick, makes a bold step towards the reversal of perpetrators and victims when he states: “Without freedom of religion, human life is fundamentally damaged. Religions must also allow themselves freedom and tolerance. Insults to religions must be ruled out”. A Catholic bishop calls out to Christian murder victims that one should not insult Islam either. Does Schick see the beheaded woman as the understandable result of an insult to Islam of which someone has previously been guilty? With such a lunatic twist, the bishop is ultimately insulting the victims. If you look at the official websites of the churches on the Internet, you will learn little or nothing about the Christian brothers and sisters murdered in southern France. On the day of the assassination attempt, the diocese of Augsburg put a video online in which the children’s reporters Antonia and Marie interview the “climate protection manager of the diocese”. The current articles of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia are concerned with the collection bag at Christmas, the refugees on Lesbos and the dangers of conspiracy theories. Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, President of the Council of the Evangelical Church, speaks of a senseless crime and a cowardly attack, as if he had fewer problems with meaningful crimes and courageous attacks. The murder, he says, “strikes at the core of all religions which work for peaceful coexistence”. From an Islamist assassination attempt on Christians, the theologian thus builds a bridge to any number of other religions, for example Buddhism, Shintoism, Hinduism. This is another way of covering up responsibility and putting the crime into perspective.Already in the case of the Islamist attack in Nice in 2016, when a man, also from Tunisia, killed almost ninety people, it was said from both the political and the church authorities that they were saddened and shocked and that they were on the side of the victims because it was an “attack on all of us”. Then as today, inconsequential cliches replace the precise naming. But problems do not disappear when they are rephrased. This is especially true in the case of Islamism, which has declared war on the West and murdered people.

  14. Pro-Turkish Slogans Used to Deface Armenian Memorial Centre in France (breitbart, Nov 1, 2020)
    https://www.breitbart.com/middle-east/2020/11/01/pro-turkish-slogans-used-to-deface-armenian-memorial-centre-in-france/

“An Armenian association in France expressed outrage Sunday after a memorial centre to the mass killings of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire was defaced with pro-Turkish slogans.

The incident in the town of Decines-Charpieu outside Lyon comes against a background of intense communal tensions in France between its Armenian minority and the Turkish community over the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Turkey has strongly backed its ally Azerbaijan in the conflict during the last weeks over Nagorno-Karabakh, part of Azerbaijan but controlled by Armenian separatists since a 1990s war as the Soviet Union broke up.

The National Armenian Memorial Centre was daubed with the giant letters “RTE” in yellow paint in reference to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the words “Grey Wolves”, a prominent Turkish nationalist movement, in French.

A nearby memorial to the killings was also smeared with an expletive against Armenia.

“This intolerable desecration.. is one of a series of events aimed at terrorising and intimidating French citizens of Armenian origin,” the Committee for the Defence of the Armenian Cause (CDCA) said in a statement.

The Lyon region is home to one of France’s largest communities of Armenians, centred around Decines-Charpieu.

Four people had been wounded on Wednesday in clashes between suspected Turkish nationalists and Armenians who had been protesting against Azerbaijan’s military offensive.

The CDCA accused the French state of “passivity” in the face of the threat and the mayor of Decines-Charpieu, Laurence Fautra, said its Armenian community needed physical protection.

The region’s top local official, prefect Pascal Mailhos, wrote on Twitter that he “strongly condemned” the damage to the memorial centre and vowed everything would be done to find those behind it.

Armenians have long campaigned for the mass killings of their ancestors in the Ottoman Empire during World War I to be recognised as genocide.

France is one of several countries to have recognised it as such.

Modern Turkey strongly rejects the use of the term, saying lives were lost on both sides during a time of war.”

All flesh was corrupted then and God had to wipe out everything he did Not create with the flood. Well we are absolutley at the end times here, God has gave us warning of what the end times will look like. Anyone here that believes in God, this has to be a wake up call. I have seen this topic of trans-humanism years ago, now I guess its at our door step. DAILY MAIL – EXCLUSIVE: National security nightmare of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop containing phone numbers for the Clintons, Secret Service officers and most of the Obama cabinet plus his sex and drug addictions – all secured by the password Hunter02

Businessman and self-confessed drug addict took the laptop to a back-street IT store in Delaware in 2019
Scale and sensitivity of its contents – easily accessible to a hacker – is only revealed for first time today
Included Joe Biden’s personal mobile number and numbers for former President Bill Clinton and wife Hillary
Were also personal documents including Hunter’s passport, driver’s licence, social security and credit cards
Laptop also showed he spent $21,000 on one ‘live cam’ porn website. Were also sex act ‘selfies’ of him

The son of the man expected by many to be America’s next President abandoned a laptop containing a treasure trove of top-secret material, including his father’s private emails and mobile phone numbers, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

In an astonishing lapse, Hunter Biden chose to protect his MacBook Pro computer – crammed with what an IT expert last night described as a ‘national security nightmare’ and ‘classic blackmail material’ – with a single, simple password: Hunter02.

Remarkably, the 50-year-old businessman and self-confessed drug addict took the machine to a back-street IT store in Delaware in April 2019 to get it repaired – yet never returned to collect it.

Its existence was revealed by the New York Post last month, but the staggering scale and sensitivity of its contents – easily accessible to a hacker with a modicum of skill – is only revealed for the first time today.

The material, none of which was encrypted or protected by anything as basic as two-factor authentication, includes:

However, Mr Biden has insisted: ‘I have not taken a penny from any foreign source ever in my life.’

The laptop contains scores of text messages between them as well as emails between Hunter and Kathleen as their relationship imploded and a bitter divorce battle began.

In one angry note to Kathleen, Hunter says: ‘Have I ever missed a tuition payment or mortgage payment, a play or a game or anything that ever mattered… Do you know what I’ve done to make that possible.

‘Do you have any idea of the level of degradation?’

Hunter has long been considered the black sheep of the Biden family with his alcohol, drug and sex problems making headlines in America – although his father has loyally stood by him.

After Hunter publicly acknowledged his battle with alcohol and drugs in April 2019 – the same month in which he visited the Mac Store – Mr Biden said: ‘Beau was my soul. Hunter is my heart.’

Even last week, the man strongly tipped to become America’s 46th President described his son as ‘the smartest guy I know’. It is doubtful whether his campaign managers or supporters share that view.

    • Hunter Biden’s laptop lays bare the world of depravity that makes him a target for blackmail: He spent $21,000 on a porn ‘live cam’ site and $11,400 in a strip club in a single night

By Caroline Graham in Los Angeles for the Mail On Sunday

Hunter Biden became so addicted to illicit sexual thrills that he once spent $11,400 on a single night of debauchery at a New York strip club and shelled out more than $21,000 to one adult ‘live cam’ porn website.

The scale of the descent of Joe Biden’s son into a morass of drugs, drink and sleaze – leaving him open to possible blackmail attempts – is laid bare in hundreds of documents and photographs on his abandoned laptop.

The 50-year-old spent a fortune on escorts and ran up massive hotel bills, often paying for multiple rooms in a single night.

Graphic photographs show him apparently smoking crack cocaine from a pipe and engaging in sex acts with unidentified women.

One email sent to Hunter Biden was from ‘hookup’ website Adultfriendfinder.com, which he appeared to be a member of

While Hunter’s demons have been well chronicled – not least during his divorce from first wife Kathleen, who alleged in court documents that his interests included ‘drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, strip clubs and gifts for women with whom he has sexual relations’ – the scale of his recklessness is staggering.

After his father became Vice President in 2009, Hunter asked the Security Service to stop deploying agents to accompany him.

It reluctantly agreed – a decision that gave the politician’s son more freedom to indulge his vices.

A source familiar with the contents of the laptop, including bank statements and credit card receipts, said: ‘Hunter’s spending on porn sites is staggering. At one point his credit card was rejected by a site because it was maxed out.

‘There are multiple hotel room charges for the same night. He spends thousands on escorts.

It’s no secret that Hunter has addiction issues, but the contents of the laptop and the apparent lack of security around either Hunter or his computer must raise doubts.

‘He was obviously highly vulnerable to a potential blackmail attempt from external forces who might seek to influence his father.’

In an interview last year, Hunter openly described at length his lurch into the seedy world of drugs and sleaze.

‘Everyone has trauma. There’s addiction in every family,’ he told The New Yorker magazine. ‘I was in that darkness. I was in that tunnel – it’s a never-ending tunnel.’

That tunnel took in the Hustler Club in New York, where he spent £8,800 in a single night in September 2018, and the Streamray porn website from which he bought a five-figure sum of services in just six months.

The Biden Files contain log-in details and passwords for numerous sex sites and multiple payments to women whose names link back to escort websites.

One message from the Jasmin porn site, shows Hunter’s attempt to buy credit was ‘declined due to insufficient funds on the credit card’.

Emails reveal desperate pleas for Hunter to get help from his family. An email from his first wife, Kathleen, says: ‘You told me if you started drinking again it would kill you. I feel like you are torturing me.’

Begging him to return to rehab, his sister Ashley writes: ‘You are a Biden. Remember that. This isn’t how we work.’

Hunter’s obsession with sexual imagery is clear. As well as selfies taken with unidentified women and a video of him engaged in a sex act, the laptop contained bizarre oil paintings of him naked while sprawled on a bed.

When sober, Hunter appears tormented by the damage that his behaviour is causing.

‘Guilt is an appropriate emotion when we’ve wronged someone (including ourselves),’ he wrote on one document stored in the poorly protected computer.

‘Guilt that isn’t acknowledged becomes shame. And shame becomes either narcissism, and addiction, and pain, and an empty life.’

The source said: ‘When you see the contents, the picture you are left with is of a troubled man who is desperately trying to maintain the family image in public, but who is falling apart behind the scenes.

‘He has the pressure of living up to the Biden name, but, in private, he dives into this dark world. He was a sitting duck for anyone who might seek to blackmail him.’

Hunter Biden’s laptop contains numerous Hollywood screenplay ‘pitches’ he had drafted

The laptop contains numerous Hollywood screenplay ‘pitches’ drafted by Hunter Biden.

A source said: ‘He has always dreamed about making a story about his life.’

      One reads:

      A Mystery to Myself:

(A really seriously tragic dramatic comedy).

In the span of eight years:

My father is elected Vice President of the United States.

I loose [sic] the entirety of my business.

I find a new way of doing business and replace most my income.

I relapse after 7 years of sobriety.

      I go back to rehab.

      The secret service follow me.

There are also oil paintings of a naked Hunter sprawled across an unmade bed and images of a tattoo on his back that appears to show long, black scratch marks running from his shoulders to his waist.

The source added: ‘In his mind he’s a Renaissance man. He writes poetry and wants to have a movie made of his life. But, as with most things, these are just pipe dreams. The reality is Hunter is a liability for his father. If Joe wins, one of the first tasks will be figuring out how to keep Hunter out of trouble for the next four years.’

    • Unkempt and unshaven, the man stumbled into the nondescript computer store at a Delaware shopping mall.

Entering The Mac Shop carrying three water-damaged computers, he approached owner John Paul MacIsaac, who later claimed that he smelled alcohol on the customer’s breath.

Mr MacIsaac was able to fix two of the machines, but the third was beyond repair.

Then the customer gave his name: Hunter Biden.

The seemingly innocuous encounter on April 12, 2019, has now become a global news story reaching the White House via Silicon Valley and inhabited by a colourful cast of characters.

As well as the albino shop owner, there’s Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, a burly wrestler turned US Navy officer, a nerdy tech wizard and the President himself.

Mr MacIsaac, 44, completed a one-page form with Hunter’s name, address and mobile phone details – all of which have been verified – and a bill for $85 due on completion of the work.

He told his customer he would need to copy the contents of the MacBook on to an external hard drive to recover them and the process would take a few days.

The man left – but never returned. Under US law, when 90 days had passed, the uncollected laptop legally became Mr MacIsaac’s property.

He decided to look at the recovered material on the laptop – which is now in the hands of the FBI as part of an investigation in which Mr MacIsaac is a material witness – and says a chill ran down his spine.

The Mail on Sunday today reveals some of that material for the first time – exposing how the son of the man tipped to be America’s next President left himself wide open to blackmail.

Mr MacIsaac fears repercussions. ‘I have everything documented. I have everything saved. But the shop is over.

‘I won’t be able to sustain my business… too many people are angry.’

He eventually alerted the FBI who collected the laptop on December 9, 2019.

An agent left a ‘receipt for property’ and a Grand Jury subpoena ordering Mr MacIsaac to testify about its contents.

At this point, the story becomes murkier.

Mr MacIsaac began emailing various senators about what he had found.

After getting no reply, he contacted Mr Giuliani who put him in touch with his lawyer, Robert Costello.

On October 14, the New York Post ran a front-page story with the headline: BIDEN SECRET EMAILS.

Inside they published a few emails relating to Hunter’s business dealings in the Ukraine and alleged links to his father.

Joe and Hunter Biden have denied any impropriety.

Strangely, the story got little traction in the US media.

Stranger still, Twitter blocked the New York Post’s account while Facebook and Google censored any mention of the article. Under pressure, they relented.

Even when Tony Bobulinski, a former US Navy serviceman and ex-wrestling champion who was Hunter’s business partner, went on Trump-supporting Fox News to confirm he had emails verifying those on the laptop, the story was largely ignored.

Meanwhile, a cyber-security expert hired by a freelance journalist drove to Mr Costello’s home on October 19 to copy the hard drive.

He then spent ‘hundreds of hours’ verifying the information and satisfying himself that the data had not been interfered with.

Finally, as Mr Trump fumed about the absence of media coverage for the Biden Files, the material was offered to The Mail on Sunday and MailOnline.

  20. Vote Republican to preserve democracy, competitive elections, and freedom
By Jerome Woehrle November 1, 2020

There has never been an election more important to vote in than this one. We may never again have a competitive national election after this one. That’s because after the Democrats take over, they will be able to maintain themselves permanently in power by changing the electorate and Congress in ways that cement their dominance. Once the Democratic Party is permanently in power, it will be able to behave in a much more radical way, making today’s left-wing California look moderate by comparison. To prevent that from happening, and preserve a meaningful democracy with competitive elections, people must vote for the Republicans, to keep the Democrats from taking over Congress and the White House. Voting for the Democrats in this election is like voting for a one-party state.

  21. GERMANY – Large crowd ‘attacks’ Frankfurt’s police HQ on second night of unrest

Police in Frankfurt said Sunday they came under attack overnight, with up to 800 people massing outside the German financial capital’s main police station and pelting officers with eggs and bottles.

Nine suspects were arrested but eight of them had to be released in the course of the night because of a lack of evidence, police said in a statement.

The violence began at around 10:45 pm, when stones, bottles and eggs were flung at a passing patrol car for no clear reason on the Zeil shopping promenade.

The situation escalated shortly after, with between 500 and 800 people massing “without meeting coronavirus rules” outside the police headquarters where they also hurled projectiles at officers.

The disturbances were the second consecutive night that police in the city came under attack.

Frankfurt police chief Gerhard Bereswil called it “unbearable that people are gathering spontaneously against the police.”

“That people are joining each other to attack colleagues on a massive scale and accepting that they could suffer serious injuries, that is something that I strongly condemn,” he said, stressing that police would not tolerate such behaviour.

In the message, the Leader called on young French people to ask their President why he supports insulting Propeht Muhammad (PBUH).

    “In His Name

    Young French people!

Ask your President why he supports insulting God’s Messenger in the name of freedom of expression. Does freedom of expression mean insulting, especially a sacred personage? Isn’t this stupid act an insult to the reason of the people who elected him?

    https://saudigazette.com.sa/article/599821/SAUDI-ARABIA/Political-Islam-is-an-extremist-ideology-that-is-nothing-to-do-with-Shariah-MWL

“The Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL) reiterated that “political Islam” is an extremist ideology that has nothing to do with the values of Islamic Shariah, which encompasses all affairs of life with a moderate outlook.

In a statement on its Twitter account, MWL said that this ideology works to achieve its political goals in the name of religion, and as a result of it, ideas of extremism, violent extremism and terrorism were born.

“The ideas of political Islam, which reduces religion to partisan political goals, were formed by separatist groups to target the security and stability of states in the name of religion.

“The ideas of political Islam are based on spreading hatred, interfering in the affairs of states, impacting their national cohesion and inciting violence in these states in order to impose their political agenda,” the statement said.

The statement also pointed out that the ideas of political Islam focus on creating extremist incubators that extend their political control in the name of religion and at the expense of its values.

The MWL asserted that the Islamic religion has nothing to do with the political Islam that extremists are promoting today and supported in their schemes by external parties targeting the unity and stability of their states, whether within or outside Islamic countries.

“The political Islam is a modern term intended to distort the connotations and purposes of the legal texts in order to gain extremist parties’ goals and objectives. Many political Islam schemes have been passed on to the targeted countries under the umbrella of training imams and guided financing,” MWL said.”

  26. Emmanuel Macron must stop pandering to bigots and show strong moral leadership
    https://www.middleeasteye.net/opinion/emmanuel-macron-islamophobia-pandering-bigots-strong-moral-leadership-

“As organisations that have spent decades building peace and bringing people together across Europe from various backgrounds, of all faiths and none, we would like to ask you and your government to reconsider the unilateral assault on Muslims, Islam and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The horrific murder of Samuel Paty and the heinous attack on a place of worship in Nice drew condemnation and empathy from people all over the world. This is a moment in which French citizens looked up to you to provide strong moral leadership.

Yet, unfortunately, there has been neither wisdom nor moral leadership in your response. Maligning Islam and your own Muslim citizens, closing mainstream mosques, Muslim and human rights organisations, and using this as an opportunity to stir up further hatred, has given further encouragement to racists and violent extremists.

    Opportunistic behaviour
Your own words and actions go against the principle of laïcité, as well as the French Constitution of 1958, which states that “all citizens regardless of their origin, race or religion are treated as equals before the law and respecting all religious beliefs [or lack thereof]”.

Your use of state mechanisms and the security services of the French state to spread unfounded defamatory accusations, raid civic organisations, close mosques and shut down legitimate organisations is symptomatic of the underlying malaise in France’s political institutions and goes against the fundamental principles of Egalité, Liberté and Fraternité.

Indeed, this opportunistic behaviour undermines the principle of the rule of law by closing down associations based on political motivations and without sound legal procedures, and is a direct violation of Article 9 of the European Convention of Human Rights (freedom of thought, conscience and religion).

It is behaviour that is based on non-legal accusations and is being conducted with full impunity. Criminalising the work that is done to fight Islamophobia will set a dangerous precedent to cherry pick which religious and racialised groups to protect, and which ones to dehumanise and rob of their freedoms.

All of us in Europe know very well the horrendous consequences at mass scale that can lead from such actions targeting a religious minority.

    Adopting the policies of xenophobes
You appear to have forgotten that you came into office on the hopes and dreams of young French men and women who were looking for a fresh approach to race and faith relations. Adopting the policies of xenophobes and pandering to bigots serves only to further the divisions in France between communities and undermine her long-standing democracy.

The moral high ground that we invite you to, is to reject hatred, marginalisation and divisive rhetoric and use your leadership to bring people together. It is within your capacity to nurture understanding between people and to counter dangerous forms of polarisation within France and globally.

The hand of friendship from European organisations, especially of youth and student movements, has long been extended. It would be a service to France and to its cherished principles, and to the rest of the world, if you took it.

  27. The Autocratic Future of the United States?

    by Guy Millière
    November 1, 2020 at 5:00 am

There seems to have been an attempt for the last four years to instill among the population a hatred of America and of the president, to present them both as a criminal and to try to overthrow them. In any event, it is the first time in American history that there has been an attempted coup d’état against a duly elected president.

If institutions of democracy — the state, the judiciary, opposition parties and the free press — suppress verifiable information instead of informing the public about it — as has just taken place for more than two weeks regarding alleged financial corruption and the possible resultant compromise — by China, Russia, and Ukraine among other countries — of an allegedly financially compromised family as possible a national security threat — these institutions of democracy instead become vehicles to sabotage a democracy.

A danger to American democracy in the past years — with threats to undo the Constitution by, for example, abolishing the electoral college, banning guns and, in 2014, eliminating free speech — has therefore become imminent.

In 2026, the FBI, under the leadership at the time of James Comey, used a fraudulent document bought and paid for by the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign to launch a two year “investigation” in search of a crime against the president. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, at the time of his appointment, on May 17, 2017, knew, or should have known — along with the leadership of the CIA, the FBI, and other key agencies, in extremely dubious, possibly even criminal, actions — that the document on which is investigation was based, the Steele dossier, was fraudulent.

    https://www.khaama.com/khan-concern-india-will-use-afghan-soil-for-attacking-pakistan-345345/

“Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, in an interview with Spiegel Magazine, said they have no preferences in Afghanistan and their only interest is the future Kabul government should not allow India to operate against Pakistan from its territory.

He said he had discussed the issue with Abdullah Abdullah, chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation; and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of Hezb-e-Islami leader, according to sources.

Khan further said no one can predict the future of Afghanistan, but what he want to say is that after Afghanistan, Pakistan needs peace the most, reiterating Islamabad’s role in Afghan peace process.

Pakistan sees the Indian government’s active presence in Afghanistan as a threat to its national interests and has repeatedly claimed that Indian intelligence forces are using Afghan territory to strike Pakistan.

While the claim has been repeatedly denied by Kabul and New Delhi, the Afghan government dubs the allegations as an excuse for Islamabad supporting the Taliban.

Over the years, Kabul and New Delhi have built close ties, Indian government being a major supporter of Afghanistan for the past two decades.

Disputes between India and Pakistan over Kashmir have led Islamabad to see New Delhi’s presence in Afghanistan as a threat to its national security.”

  29. People Leaving Xinjiang City Forced Into Quarantine, Fed Unknown Drugs

The outbreak of COVID-19 in Xinjiang’s Kashgar has worsened. Official data from the Chinese communist government has seen an increase of nearly 200 Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus cases in the past few days.

The local area has activated a first-level emergency response. People from other areas who have traveled to Kashgar recently have been traced by the authorities and put into quarantine, even having the doors of their hotel rooms sealed by authorities and fed unknown drugs.

Mr. Li, an Ürümqi resident who was on a business trip to Kashgar recently, told The Epoch Times that he arrived in Kashgar on Oct. 22 and left on Oct. 25. After arriving at Ürümqi airport at 6 p.m. on Oct. 25, he and more than 40 people on the same plane were immediately taken to a quarantine site. Ürümqi, Xinjiang’s capital city, is 900 miles northeast of Kashgar.

“I was taken directly to the quarantine site, a hotel in Tianshan District. The staff didn’t speak much and didn’t tell us anything,” Li said.

Although he was tested for the CCP virus, commonly known as coronavirus, upon arrival, the authorities have not given him the result. “We asked how long the quarantine is and when we will be told the nucleic acid test results, but nobody replied,” he said.

  30. Taliban Suffer Heavy Casualties in Kandahar, 101 Militants Killed
    https://www.khaama.com/heavy-taliban-casualties-in-kandahar-at-least-101-militants-are-dead-987867/

“Kandahar security officials say more than 100 Taliban fighters have been killed in clashes with security forces in the province overnight.

Kandahar police spokesman Jamal Naser Barakzai told the media that 101 members of the militant group had been killed in clashes between security forces and Taliban fighters in the Arghandab and Zherai districts of the province.

He added that 64 Taliban fighters were killed in the Arghandab district and 37 others were killed in the Zherai district of Kandahar province.

According to Barakzai, security forces have launched large-scale ground and air operations in parts of Arghandab district, where the Taliban have suffered heavy casualties.

Fighting between security forces and Taliban fighters escalated last week in the Arghandab district, near the city of Kandahar, and continues to this day.

According to the provincial security officials, heavy clashes between security forces and Taliban fighters are ongoing in Arghandab, Zherai, Panjwai, and Maiwand districts of the province.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the group’s heavy casualties in Kandahar province.”

“A 35-year-old Syrian male intern sexually molested two 4-year-old children — one while she was taking her afternoon nap — in a kindergarten in the city of Neubrandenburg in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, according to German police. The 35-year-old man has been charged with suspected child sexual abuse.

The alleged abuse first came to light when one boy told his parents that he was sexually molested. The management inside the kindergarten discussed the incident internally at first and did not involve the police. The father then went directly to authorities and filed a formal complaint, according to police.

Another father reported another sexual assault involving the same Syrian male on Monday of this week. The father said his child told him that the Syrian touched her genitals and buttocks with a sexual intent while she was trying to take her afternoon nap, according to German daily Bild.

“The investigations by the criminal police in Neubrandenburg into suspected sexual abuse of children is at the beginning stages,” said a police spokeswoman. “To the best of our knowledge, the accused has been suspended. The youth welfare office has also been informed.”

In response to the refugee crisis that began in 2015, the Education and Science Union (GEW) pushed for Germany to begin employing asylum seekers and reduce standards for employment in daycares. They called for a loosening of requirements on who could look after children, saying that in addition to educated specialists, non-specialists should also be allowed to look after children.

With less training and oversight requirements, the hope was that Germany could employ migrants and also help ease the burden on its kindergarten system, which is lacking in staff.”

  33. EU opens infringement procedure against Hungary over asylum laws
    https://rmx.news/article/article/eu-opens-infringement-procedure-against-hungary-over-asylum-laws

“The European Commission, the executive branch of the European Union, announced late last week that it had opened infringement proceedings against Hungary for it supposed violation of EU asylum law.

On Friday, Brussels sent a formal notice to the Hungarian government which claims that the new asylum procedures adopted by Budapest in response to the COVID-19 pandemic “are contrary to Union law”.

According to the new asylum procedures, which were introduced by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s government in May, non-EU nationals who wish to apply for asylum in Hungary must first do so at a Hungarian Embassy outside the EU and be granted a special entry permit.

The executive branch of the European Union “considers that this rule is an unlawful restriction to access to the asylum procedure as it precludes persons who are on Hungary’s territory, including at the border, from applying for international protection there.”

The infringement procedure announced last week is the fifth against the Hungary on the subject of asylum since 2015, according to the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, a left-wing non-government organization. Last spring, the NGO claimed that the government’s new asylum regulations were a “heinous violation” of European law.

Responding to the European executive’s announcement, Nicolas Bay, French MEP and General Secretary of the National Rally party, referred to the EU’s infringement case against Hungary, writing on Facebook, “While migration laxity appears to be the number one cause of the Nice Islamist attack, the Commission decides to tackle one of the few European countries that is firm on immigration and protects its people!”

The French MEP also posted an image to social media of the migration route taken by the Tunisian suspect in the Nice church terrorist attack. Along with the image, Bay wrote: “Here is the course of the Nice Terrorist. Checking borders is not an identity retreat. Checking borders could have saved the life of Vincent, Simone, and a 70-year-old woman.”

As Remix News reported last week, 21-year-old Brahim Aouissaou, the Islamic terrorist who murdered three parishioners inside the Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption basilica in Nice, had illegally arrived by boat to the Italian island of Lampedusa in September before making his way to France.”
