Reader’s Links for October 29, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. EXCLUSIVE: Senate Committee Successfully Verifies All Bobulinski Materials Reviewed To Date

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has been successful in verifying all materials reviewed so far from Hunter Biden’s ex-business partner Tony Bobulinski, the Daily Caller has learned.

Committee Chairman Sen. Ron Johnson will not call Bobulinski to testify before the November 3 elections, as the committee is working to review all the information provided to the committee by Bobulinski. The information has to be verified, as it is subject to the same false information to Congress laws that verbal or written testimony does. However, a Johnson spokesperson told the Caller that all the material provided by Bobulinski that has been reviewed so far has turned out to be legitimate. The committee has “also” not come across any “signs” or evidence to suggest the content is false, the spokesperson added.

Bobulinski, who said Tuesday he believes “Joe Biden and the Biden family are compromised” in an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, has turned

    Worse than the zombie apocalypse?

Below are The Top 50 Reasons Why a Biden Presidency Would Be Worse Than The Zombie Apocalypse:

Another lockdown – Which will Kevorkian what’s left of the economy.

Amnesties and other incentives for illegal immigration – Joe promised another amnesty bill in his first 100 days to satisfy the urgent need for more Democrat voters. No border wall, ICE defunded, sanctuary cities subsidized.

Back to the era of bad trade deals – Give away the store to get it done. Joe understands trade, based on his vast business experience.

  3. Mozambique Army Advances on Key Militia Base: Govt
    https://www.thedefensepost.com/2020/10/29/mozambique-advances-key-militia-base/

“Mozambican troops are honing in on a forest base camp belonging to insurgents terrorizing the gas-rich north, the government has said, signaling a significant advancement in the battle to regain control of the region.

A shadowy insurgency has wreaked havoc in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province over the past three years, targeting villages and towns in a bid to establish an Islamist caliphate.

The group has stepped up its offensive in recent months, seizing swathes of territory near major liquefied natural gas (LNG) investment projects.

Interior Minister Amade Miquidade late Wednesday told lawmakers the army had dismantled several “hideouts in the woods” and was advancing on a central base hidden in the heavy forest of Mocimboa da Praia district.

“Terrorists have a main base that they call ‘Syria’, where our operations are focused,” Miquidade said during a parliamentary session called to brief cabinet members on counter-insurgency tactics.

“We are putting out of action some of their leaders who are of foreign nationality,” he added, refusing to elaborate.

Details about the targeted group are sketchy. It calls itself Al Shabaab although it has no known links to the group of that name operating in Somalia, and last year pledged allegiance to the so-called Islamic State group.

It has staged more than 600 attacks across 10 out of the 17 districts in Cabo Delgado, according to a US-based NGO, the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED) group.

ACLED has also documented more than 2,000 deaths, at least 1,100 of them civilians.

Miquidade said the unrest had displaced over 435,000 people, 100,000 of whom fled their homes in the past month alone.

He noted the threat to LNG exploration projects and defended the hiring of private military companies to boost security.

It is the first time the government openly acknowledged its collaboration with the private military sector.

The gas projects “have specific security dynamics and the continuity of these investments requires specialized security means which Mozambique does not have,” the minister explained.

French energy giant Total signed a security agreement with Mozambique in August to protect its multi-billion-dollar LNG project on the Afungi peninsula.

Militants remain in control of Mocimboa da Praia town, a strategic port 60 kilometers (40 miles) south of the LNG facility.”

  5. Sanctions Have Failed to Break Us, Iran’s President Says
    https://www.tasnimnews.com/en/news/2020/10/29/2379113/sanctions-have-failed-to-break-us-iran-s-president-says

“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the US sanctions have failed to achieve their desired effects and “break us”.

“The sanctions have impacted people (’s lives), but have failed to break us,” Rouhani said in remarks on Thursday.

People should know that the sanctions have not affected the development projects in Iran, he added.

“I am pretty sure that our people will overcome the existing problems,” the Iranian president further said.

The current US administration returned the sanctions that the previous regime had lifted. Washington took the move after leaving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a historic nuclear agreement that has mandated the sanction relief.

US President Donald Trump has been trying to justify the campaign under its signature Iran policy of “maximum pressure.” His administration has also snubbed an International Court of Justice order on it to suspend coercive economic measures against food and medicine as well as other vital items such as plane parts.

Washington, meanwhile, keeps alleging that foodstuffs and medicinal products are exempt from the inhumane bans, a claim that Tehran strongly rejects.”

  6. Hezbollah Members Attack Journalists Covering Border Negotiations
    https://english.aawsat.com/home/article/2593511/hezbollah-members-attack-journalists-covering-border-negotiations

“Members of the Lebanese Hezbollah attacked media teams that were covering the round of border demarcation talks in Naqoura on Wednesday.

Annahar newspaper correspondent Faraj Obaji stated that the officers identified themselves as being from Hezbollah group, adding that three of them stormed into the media field offices, asking the journalists to leave, based on a decision by the party.

The Hezbollah members also prevented the journalists from filming and requested them to leave the area immediately.

Security sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that “the army has designated a media point prior to the beginning of the talks,” but apparently a number of media professionals have moved into areas controlled by Hezbollah, which raised the party’s objection.

Lebanon TV correspondent Nayla Shahwan said on Facebook that she and the photographers’ team were attacked by partisan elements while covering the second round of demarcation negotiations in Naqoura.

“As we were covering the negotiation session in Naqoura and after obtaining permission from the Lebanese army, three young men expelled us from the area and identified themselves as being from a specific party. When I tried to contact the concerned people in my station, they accused me of taking pictures of them; so they took the phone and threw our cameras, and gave us 3 minutes to leave,” she recounted.

The attack was condemned by caretaker Information Minister Manal Abdel Samad and the head of the Journalists’ Syndicate, Joseph Al-Qosaifi.

“What happened is reprehensible and requires the intervention of the relevant security services to preserve the security of journalists and the dignity of the profession,” Abdel Samad said.

Al-Qosaifi, for his part, called on the concerned authorities to “take all measures to protect journalists and media professionals and provide safe conditions for their movement.””

    https://english.aawsat.com/home/article/2593936/twitter-removes-tweet-mahathir-mohamad-glorifying-violence

“Twitter removed a tweet from former Malaysian leader Mahathir Mohamad for glorifying violence but France’s digital minister demanded the company also ban him from its platform.

Cedric O said he told the managing director of Twitter in France that Mahathir’s account “must be immediately suspended,” O tweeted on Thursday. “If not, @twitter would be an accomplice to a formal call for murder.”

Mahathir, 95 and a former Malaysian prime minister, appeared to say the deaths of French people would be justified, in the wake of attacks that French authorities attributed to extremists.

“Muslims have a right to be angry and to kill millions of people for the massacres of the past,” he said Thursday, in a series of tweets that began with his thoughts on the beheading of a middle school teacher who showed caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.

Twitter at first put a label on the tweet saying it glorified violence but left it up because it “may be in the public’s interest.”

The tweet was later removed and replaced with a tag saying it broke the rules. The company said it took action for violating its policy on glorification of violence, which doesn’t allow threats against individuals or a group of people.”

  10. Turkey to take legal action against France over ‘cultural racism and hatred’
    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20201029-turkey-to-take-legal-action-against-france-over-cultural-racism-and-hatred/

“France has been accused of spreading “cultural racism and hatred” by Turkish officials who have vowed to take legal action against the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, in the latest round of the bitter row between Paris and Ankara.

State media said Turkish prosecutors have launched an official investigation into Charlie Hebdo after it followed up its re-publication of highly offensive cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) with a caricature of the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the latest front cover of its magazine. The cartoon depicts him as a sexually depraved person while also displaying an apparent mocking reference to the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).

Erdogan is reported saying that he was upset and angry “not because of the disgusting attack on me” but because of the “vulgarity against our prophet whom we consider dearer than our own lives”.

The Turkish president, who said he had deliberately avoided looking at the cartoon, added: “We know that the target is not me, but the values that we are defending?.?.?.?It is our honour to take a sincere stand against attacks on our prophet.”

Turkey’s Minister of Justice, Abdulhamit Gul, informed reporters that Turkey will respond through legal means saying that Turkish law contained measures for imposing sanctions on people that attack “our country and our values” and that “necessary steps” had been taken.

In response, presidential communications Director Fahrettin Altun said: “Charlie Hebdo just published a series of so-called cartoons full of despicable images purportedly of our president. We condemn this most disgusting effort by this publication to spread its cultural racism and hatred.”

Vice-President Fuat Oktay called on the international community to raise its voice against “this disgrace” adding “you cannot fool anyone by hiding behind freedom of thought.”

Relations between Paris and Ankara are the lowest in recent memory. The two countries have also locked horns over gas exploration in Eastern Mediterranean and in the conflict in Libya where they support opposing sides.”

“Sudan’s transitional government has stripped thousands of foreigners, including Syrians, from their naturalised Sudanese citizenship, Erm News reported yesterday.

In an official statement, the government said that the foreigners had acquired the Sudanese nationality in “illegitimate ways during the era of the ousted President Omar Al-Bashir.”

The statement added that the Sudanese Interior Ministry had called on all naturalized citizens from 2014 to 2019 “to visit the ministry’s Passports and Immigration office”, noting that all naturalised citizenships issued after last year would be “stripped from their holder”.

A number of Syrians who are naturalised citizens told local media that the measures had caused them “material damage, especially investors and businessmen, who could no longer liquidate their businesses and bank accounts.””

“Egyptian prison authorities yesterday sentenced four over the torching of a nightclub in the Agouza neighbourhood located in the country’s western province of Giza.

Security sources told the media that the ruling was carried out by the Giza Criminal Court, adding that it was made against “Mohamed Emad Mohamed, Mohamed Abdelrahaman Zaki, Mohamed Gamal and Mohamed Saeed.”

The case dates back to late 2018, when the defendants burned the nightclub, dubbed Bar Al-Sayyed, acting out revenge against the owners who had evicted them from the club. The attack left 17 people dead, most of whom were workers.

In June 2019, the Court of Cassation – Egypt’s highest appeals court – upheld the Giza court’s ruling, making it a final non-appealable verdict.

Egypt ranks fifth globally in the number of executions carried out by the state, according to Amnesty International, with at least 32 defendants killed in this manner in 2019.”

“The head of French Muslim NGO BarakaCity has publicly requested asylum in Turkey for himself and his organisation, following the French government’s crackdown against its Muslim population and its dissolution of the NGO.

Idriss Sihamedi, BarakaCity’s founder and head, whose house was raided by anti-terror police two weeks ago over allegations of harassment and extremism, announced his request for asylum in Turkey on Twitter yesterday.

In the tweet, in which he tagged Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Sihamedi said: “Following the lies of the [French] government…and the closure of the humanitarian and human rights NGO, I officially request political asylum for BarakaCity.” That asylum, he wrote, should be granted also to “my team and myself, who are under threat of death.”

In response, the official account of Turkey’s Directorate General of Migration Management replied today, informing him that his “name, surname, identity information and petitions for asylum applications including passport numbers…will be assessed” once they are sent. It added that “Following your information, our Istanbul airport team will be informed of the situation.”

Sihamedi’s request for asylum in Turkey comes after BarakaCity, the NGO which distributed aid to two million people worldwide, was shut down and dissolved by the French government following two weeks of investigation over “Islamist” ties…”

  16. zero hedge – Nine COVID Controversies

Authored by Jeff Harris via The Ron Paul Institute for Peace & Prosperity,

Ever since the alleged pandemic erupted this past March the mainstream media has spewed a non-stop stream of misinformation that appears to be laser focused on generating maximum fear among the citizenry. But the facts and the science simply don’t support the grave picture painted of a deadly virus sweeping the land.

es we do have a pandemic, but it’ a pandemic of ginned up pseudo-science masquerading as unbiased fact. Here are nine facts backed up with data, in many cases from the CDC itself that paints a very different picture from the fear and dread being relentlessly drummed into the brains of unsuspecting citizens.

    1) The PCR test is practically useless

According to an article in the New York Times August 29th 2020 testing for the Covid-19 virus using the popular PCR method results in up to 90% of those tested showing positive results that are grossly misleading.

Officials in Massachusetts, New York and Nevada compiled testing data that revealed the PCR test can NOT determine the amount of virus in a sample. (viral load) The amount of virus in up to 90% of positive results turned out to be so miniscule that the patient was asymptomatic and posed no threat to others. So the positive Covid-19 tests are virtually meaningless.

    2) A positive test is NOT a CASE

For some reason every positive Covid-19 test is immediately designated a CASE. As we saw in #1 above up to 90% of positive Covid-19 tests result in miniscule amounts of virus that do not sicken the subject. Historically only patients who demonstrated actual symptoms of an illness were considered a case. Publishing positive test results as “CASES” is grossly misleading and needlessly alarming.

    3) The Centers for Disease Control dramatically lowered the Covid-19 Death Count

On August 30th the CDC released new data that showed only 6% of the deaths previously attributed to Covid-19 were due exclusively to the virus. The vast majority, 94%, may have had exposure to Covid-19 but also had preexisting illnesses like heart disease, obesity, hypertension, cancer and various respiratory illnesses. While they died with Covid-19 they did NOT die exclusively from Covid-19.

    4) CDC reports Covid-19 Survival Rate over 99%

The CDC updated their “Current Best Estimate” for Covid-19 survival on September 10th showing that over 99% of people exposed to the virus survived. Another way to say this is that less than 1% of the exposures are potentially life threatening. According to the CDC the vast majority of deaths attributed to Covid-19 were concentrated in the population over age 70, close to normal life expectancy.

    5) CDC reveals 85% of Positive Covid cases wore face masks Always or Often

In September of 2020 the CDC released the results of a study conducted in July where they discovered that 85% of the positive Covid test subjects reported wearing a cloth face mask always or often for two weeks prior to testing positive. The majority, 71% of the test subjects reported always wearing a cloth face mask and 14% reported often wearing a cloth face mask. The only rational conclusion from this study is that cloth face masks offer little if any protection from Covid-19 infection.

    6) There are inexpensive, proven therapies for Covid-19

Harvey Risch, MD, PhD heads the Yale University School of Epidemiology. He authored “The Key to Defeating Covid-19 Already Exists. We Need to Start Using It” which was published in Newsweek Magazine July 23rd, 2020. Dr. Risch documents the proven effectiveness of treating patients diagnosed with Covid-19 using a combination of Hydroxychloroquine, an antibiotic like azithromycin and the nutritional supplement zinc. Medical Doctors across the globe have reported very positive results using this protocol particularly for early stage Covid patients.

    7) The US Death Rate is NOT spiking

If Covid-19 was the lethal killer it’s made out to be one would reasonably expect to see a significant spike in the number of deaths reported. But that hasn’t happened.

According to the CDC as of early May 2020 the total number of deaths in the US was 944,251 from January 1 – April 30th. This is actually slightly lower than the number of deaths during the same period in 2017 when 946,067 total deaths were reported.

    8) Most Covid-19 Deaths Occur at the End of a normal Lifespan

According to the CDC as of 2017 US males can expect a normal lifespan of 76.1 years and females 81.1 years. A little over 80% of the suspected Covid-19 deaths have occurred in people over age 65. According to a June 28th New York Post article almost half of all Covid suspected deaths have occurred in Nursing Homes which predominately house people with preexisting health conditions and close to or past their normal life expectancy.

    9) CDC Data Shows Minimal Covid Risk to Children and Young Adults

The CDC reported in their September 10th update that it’s estimated Infection Mortality Rate (IFR) for children age 0-19 was so low that 99.97% of those infected with the virus survived. For 20-49 year-olds the survival rate was almost as good at 99.98%. Even those 70 years-old and older had a survival rate of 94.6%. To put this in perspective the CDC data suggest that a child or young adult up to age 19 has a greater chance of death from some type of accident than they do from Covid-19.

Taken together it should be obvious that Covid-19 is pretty similar to typical flu viruses that sicken some people annually. The vast majority are able to successfully fight off the virus with their body’s natural immune system. Common sense precautions should be taken, particularly by those over age 65 that suffer from preexisting medical conditions.

The gross over reaction by government leaders to this illness is causing much more distress, physical, emotional and financial, than the virus ever could on its own. The bottom line is there is NO pandemic, just a typical flu season that has been wildly blown out of proportion by 24/7 media propaganda and enabled by the masses paralyzed by irrational fear.

State and local governments in particular have ignored the rights of the people and have instituted outrageous attacks on freedom and liberty that was bought and paid for by the blood and sacrifice of our forefathers.

Slowly the people are recognizing the great fraud perpetrated on them by bureaucrats and elected officials who have sworn to uphold rights and freedoms as spelled out in the US Constitution. The time has come to hold these criminals accountable by utilizing the legal system to bring them to justice.

  17. French police shoot dead attacker ‘linked to far-right Generation Identity’
    https://english.alaraby.co.uk/english/news/2020/10/29/french-police-shoot-dead-generation-identity-attacker

“French police shot an armed man dead in the southeastern city of Avignon on Wednesday after he threatened a North African shopkeeper and police officers, local media report.

The incident came amid a spate of attacks on Wednesday targeting both police and the public across France.

Three people were killed in a knife attack in a Nice cathedral which is being investigated as a terrorist attack, while an Afghan man was arrested after stabbing a police officer in Lyon.

Although the attacks in Nice and Lyon have been linked to Islamist extremists, the incident in Avignon has been connected to a far-right group.

The attacker there was a member of Generation Identity, French daily Le Monde reported.

The youth-focused “alt-right” group campaigns against immigration and Islam, and espouses the white supremacist “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory which posits that white Europeans are being “replaced” by non-Europeans through mass migration.

The 33-year-old man had threatened a North African shopkeeper with a handgun, according to left-wing news site Mediapart.

He was wering a blue jacket bearing the logo of Generation Identity, Mediapart said, adding that its report had been confirmed by Avignon prosecutor Phillippe Guemas.

Le Monde reported that the assailant had told the shopkeeper he was a member of the Generation Idenitity, but it had no further information at this point.
The yet unnamed assailant was killed after police opened fire.

The Nice attacker, who French media have identified as a 21-year-old Tunisian migrant who arrived in France just a few weeks ago, was also shot dead by police.

Wednesday’s attacks follow the killing of a French school teacher earlier this month.

Samuel Paty was beheaded near Paris after he showed his students controversial caricatures of Islam’s Prophet Muhammed by satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo.

In September, two people were wounded in a stabbing attack outside Charlie Hebdo’s former offices in Paris.

French President Emmanuel Macron vowed to crack down on Islamist extremism in the wake of Paty’s murder.

Speaking at the scene of the Nice attack on Wednesday, Macron said he would step up the deployment of soldiers at sensitive sites across the country, more than doubling the number of soldiers located at places of worship and other locations to 7,000.

France also raised its security alert to the highest possible level following the attack.”

“Brahim A, a 25-year-old Tunisian who killed a man and two women at a church in Nice Thursday, beheading one of the women, landed at the Italian island of Lampedusa, Italian security sources said, confirming reports from the French city.

Another Tunisian, Anis Amri, arrived at Lampedusa as a minor in 2011 and went on to kill 12 people in a truck attack on a Berlin Christmas market in 2016.

France has been roiled by Islamist threats and attacks since a schoolteacher was beheaded on October 16 after showing controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohamed which have been deemed blasphemous and led to the January 2015 attack on the Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine office in Paris in which 12 people were killed. “

Serbian authorities said the two men were “suspected of plotting with other unidentified persons to place migrants in a railroad transport container.”

The suspects allegedly aimed to illegally move seven stowaways from Serbia to neighboring Croatia. Unlike Serbia, Croatia is an EU member. However, the container ended up in Paraguay where the remains of the seven men were discovered last week.

  22. MEMRI – Erdogan: Macron Needs Mental Treatment; By Fighting against Islam, Europe Is Bringing Its Own Demise

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an said in an October 24, 2020 speech that was aired by Anadolu Agency (Turkey) that the way French President Emmanuel Macron treats Muslims is a sign that he needs mental treatment.

He warned that President Macron will not gain anything from “messing” with him, and he said that Europe does not really have any freedom.

Erdogan further said that cartoons insulting the Prophet Muhammad are “vulgarity” and a manifestation of Europe’s “hostility to Islam.”

He also said that Europe has a fascist and bigoted mentality, and that since Westerners see all Muslims as Turks and all Turks as Muslims, Europe’s hostility to Islam is also hostility to Turks.

He added: “With the front it has opened against Muslims, Europe is actually preparing its own end.”

Dr. Al-Shahrouri praised Turkish President Erdo?an’s criticism of Macron, and he said that the two “poles” of terrorism are the Jewish Zionists and the “Neo-Crusaders.”
Predicting that an economic war is on the horizon, Dr. Al-Shahrouri expressed support for a widespread and long-term Muslim and Arab boycott of French products.

    • Article on Joe and Hunter Biden Censored By The Intercept

An attempt to assess the importance of the known evidence, and a critique of media lies to protect their favored candidate, could not be published at The Intercept

TITLE: THE REAL SCANDAL: U.S. MEDIA USES FALSEHOODS TO DEFEND JOE BIDEN FROM HUNTER’S EMAILS

Publication by the New York Post two weeks ago of emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop, relating to Vice President Joe Biden’s work in Ukraine, and subsequent articles from other outlets concerning the Biden family’s pursuit of business opportunities in China, provoked extraordinary efforts by a de facto union of media outlets, Silicon Valley giants and the intelligence community to suppress these stories.

One outcome is that the Biden campaign concluded, rationally, that there is no need for the front-running presidential candidate to address even the most basic and relevant questions raised by these materials. Rather than condemn Biden for ignoring these questions — the natural instinct of a healthy press when it comes to a presidential election — journalists have instead led the way in concocting excuses to justify his silence.

After the Post’s first article, both that newspaper and other news outlets have published numerous other emails and texts purportedly written to and from Hunter reflecting his efforts to induce his father to take actions as Vice President beneficial to the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, on whose board of directors Hunter sat for a monthly payment of $50,000, as well as proposals for lucrative business deals in China that traded on his influence with his father.

Individuals included in some of the email chains have confirmed the contents’ authenticity. One of Hunter’s former business partners, Tony Bubolinski, has stepped forward on the record to confirm the authenticity of many of the emails and to insist that Hunter along with Joe Biden’s brother Jim were planning on including the former Vice President in at least one deal in China. And GOP pollster Frank Luntz, who appeared in one of the published email chains, appeared to confirm the authenticity as well, though he refused to answer follow-up questions about it.
