Reader’s Links for October 12, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Is 50+ Years Of Failure Theater Finally Catching Up To The “Palestinians?”
As Israel becomes fully integrated into the economies of the Arab world via trade agreements, commercial flight permission, and a host of non-cultural but powerful connections, the importance of the “Palestinian Question” shrinks. At this point, the economic and technological advantages of a relationship with Israel, as cold as it may be, dwarfs the social and quasi-religious power of a few million stateless Arabs living in self-imposed squalor.

The final nail in Palestinian-Arab relations?

Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz’s criticism of Palestinian leaders this week did not surprise those who have been following the deterioration of relations between the Palestinians and some Arab countries in the past few months. What is also not surprising is that the Palestinian leadership does not appear to have an idea how to stop the rapid deterioration. Palestinian officials admitted this week that they have never been forced to deal with such a barrage of criticism from Arabs.
As Abba Eban famously said, “The Arabs never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.” The “Palestinian” opportunities have come fast and furious since 1948, but they have consistently rejected them in hopes that a military victory courtesy of Israel’s Arab neighbors would hand them a country, or their own terror apparatus would unravel Israel’s political will and drive them to negotiate from a position of weakness.
And how has that worked out for them? Their people are worse off than ever, their political support has shrunk to a few countries that themselves are dealing with international pressure, and Israel is firmly in the vanguard of technologically and militarily advanced countries. It just doesn’t make sense for most Arab countries to support the pallies over the Israelis.

I guess they should have taken one of the dozen significant deals they have been offered over the years! But now? It may be too late.

    • The Saudis have saturated the (Arabic) ether with this speech. The King must be fading fast – he was still touting the non-starter “Arab Peace Initiative” a couple weeks ago.

  2. Kurds, amnesty for thousands of ISIS detainees in Syria

“Kurdish-Syrian authorities announced today an amnesty for thousands of detainees, middle or low-ranking members of ISIS, who have been imprisoned for at least two years in jails in northeastern Syria, a region controlled by Kurdish-Syrian forces backed by the US-led anti-ISIS coalition, Kurdish authorities were quoted as saying by Syrian media.”

  3. Germany: Antifa extremists brutally beat family member of right-wing activist
    https://rmx.news/article/article/germany-antifa-extremists-brutally-beat-family-member-of-right-wing-activist

“The stepfather of an Identitarian Movement (IB) supporter suffered a head injury after being brutally attacked last week in Konstanz, Germany by a mob of far-left Antifa extremists.

While describing the extent of attack to the conservative German news outlet Junge Freiheit, the victim’s stepson, Dominik B., said that his “stepfather suffered a head injury and the facade of the house is damaged.”

The attack took place on the Oct. 4 sometime shortly after about 60 hooded, black-clad Antifa members stormed through the streets of Konstanz towards the parent’s home of 26-year-old Dominik B. — a formerly active IB member. As they marched, the far-left militants carried a red banner bearing the words: “Counter the shift to the right – organized, consistent, determined.”

After reaching Dominik’s home at about 3:30 p.m., the mob began hurling eggs and red paint at the home’s yellow façade. The far-left extremists also filled the mailbox with construction foam and spray painted the word “Nazi” at the entrance area in front of the home.

Since Dominik wasn’t home at the time, his stepfather, upon hearing the commotion, stepped outside to face the mob. Immediately after, the group attacked him, hitting the 49-year-old man in the head. While the victim was down, the hooded assailants are said to have made an attempt to steal his mobile phone. The far-left extremists then fled the scene of the crime after multiple neighbors stepped in to put a stop to the violence.

“The neighbors reacted well and shouted to the masked people to leave,” Dominik B said.

Following the surprise assault, the Dominik’s stepfather was taken to hospital where he was treated for a head injury and bruises to his body.

Among the residents who witnessed of the appalling attack was a family with four young children. The parents of the children have said that their children were horrified by the attack, Junge Freiheit reports.

Antifa members originally set their sights on Dominik B., who used to be an active member of IB, when they wrote on the information portal Indymedia that he heads the local branch of IB in Konstanz. Dominik, however, patently denies that this was ever the case.

Local Konstanz Antifa members are also said to have left so-called “outing posters” around his neighborhood, on which they shared Dominik’s home address and slandered him as an “active neo-Nazi”

Police are currently investigating the case.

Antifa’s presence in Germany is significant. Last week, on Friday morning, in what was a massive operation which involved 1,500 police officers, nearly 60 far-left extremists from the “Liebig 34” squat in the Friedrichshain district were evicted from the residence, German newspaper Die Welt reported.

Left-wing extremists set a vital cable box for Berlin’s S-bahn train system on fire in protest of the eviction, causing massive public transportation delays that have lasted over a week.

Berlin police told the German daily newspaper that they’re anticipating attacks on police vehicles and properties as well as public transport infrastructure from the far-left squatters in the coming days and weeks in response to the removal.

One police source told the newspaper: “The aim of the actions is to put the capital in ruins.””

  4. 11-year-old German boy badly beaten by group of ‘youths’
    https://rmx.news/article/article/11-year-old-german-boy-badly-beaten-by-group-of-youths

“An 11-year-old boy was attacked and beaten badly by several youths with a “Southern appearance” on Monday evening in front of the Paderborn Neuhaus Castle, according to Nordrhein Westfalen police.

Police are now investigating suspicions of dangerous bodily harm and are looking for witnesses.

At around 6 p.m. the 11-year-old boy walked from Residenz Street across the castle forecourt in the city where there was a group of youths also present. From this group, the 11-year-old was approached one of the other youths who began beating him. He was then joined by other members of the group.

The victim went down and was further beaten and kicked, resulting in serious injuries. An unidentified cyclist jumped in to stop the beating and the perpetrators fled to Bielefelder Street in the direction of Hatzfelder Platz. The “courageous cyclist” also left the scene, and the badly injured boy fled home. His mother alerted the police and took her son to a hospital, where he was hospitalized.

The suspects are said to have a southern appearance and were about 1.65 meters tall. One boy was blonde, the others had black hair.

The police asked the unknown cyclist and other witnesses who could provide information about the suspects to call 05251/3060.”
