Reader’s Links for October 2, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. White Supremacist Who Organized Charlottesville Race Riots Endorses Joe Biden
Trump is labeled an avid racist by political opponents and media, but Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are endorsed by one of the most notorious racists in America.
    Evita DuffyBy Evita Duffy
    AUGUST 24, 2020
Richard Spencer, neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and organizer of the infamous 2017 Charlottesville riots, announced yesterday on Twitter that he will be voting for Joe Biden in the upcoming 2020 election.

A Twitter user asked Spencer if he will be voting for Biden or sitting out the election, given his belief that “Biden/Kamala will be tougher on crime/BLM than Trump.” Spencer responded, “I plan to vote for Biden and a straight democratic ticket. It’s not based on ‘accelerationism’ or anything like that; the liberals are clearly more competent people.”

  2. Germany: Hundreds of coronavirus sceptics protest COVID measures outside Bundestag

Some 200 coronavirus sceptic protesters gathered in front of the Bundestag, in Berlin, on Friday, to protest the German government’s measures against the coronavirus pandemic.

The protest was organised by the self-described “Communication Centre for Democratic Resistance”. Among other measures, protesters opposed mandatory masks and the coronavirus tracking app, which they say infringe on their rights and freedoms.

Shortly before 17:00 (15:00 GMT), police asked the crowd to disperse as not enough demonstrators were wearing masks.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel originally announced a series of measures in March to curb the spread of coronavirus, which she said were necessary in order “to win time in the fight against the virus.” The measures have been gradually eased nation-wide. In the past weeks, however, the number of new infections has significantly increased.

    • reuters- Mexico sees U.S. election behind migrant caravan, seeks to avoid Trump spat

GUATEMALA CITY/MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Mexico’s president on Friday said he suspected political interference behind a new migrant caravan in Central America, promising to keep his country out of the U.S. presidential race as the group splintered and some began turning back.

More than 2,000 migrants, many wearing face masks against the coronavirus, barged past Guatemalan troops at the Honduras-Guatemala border on Thursday. Some said they were seeking to escape poverty aggravated by the pandemic.

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who has taken steps to curb illegal immigration so as to avoid entanglements with his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump, suggested that the caravan’s departure from Honduras had been timed to provoke.

“It is very weird, very strange,” Lopez Obrador told a news conference. “It’s a matter that I believe is linked to the U.S. election.”

He said he did not have definitive evidence to support that claim, but his words turned up pressure on the migrants. They split into three groups on Friday, amid a growing realization that even making it to Mexico would be a risky journey.

Eager to avoid upsetting Trump, who insulted and threatened Mexico repeatedly in his 2015-16 election campaign and has made cracking down on illegal immigration a priority during his presidency, Lopez Obrador has since last year used thousands of troops to reinforce Mexico’s border regions.

A surge in migration and caravans resulted in threats from Trump to impose tariffs on Mexican trade in 2019.

National Guard militarized police this year broke up a migrant caravan, with authorities detaining and quickly deporting participants.

      “SHORT OF FOOD”

A few hundred migrants at the Guatemalan-Honduran border turned back on Friday morning, according to a Reuters witness. Many said they were worn out, short of food and worried that a tough reception awaited them further along the road.

“We’re going back … because the (Mexican) president said we weren’t following the rules and that we were breaking many laws,” said Nelson Aguilera, who joined the caravan in Honduras with his wife and daughter on Thursday.

Lopez Obrador said his government had made a “major effort” to avoid becoming caught up in the U.S. presidential election, noting that Mexico and immigration were far down the list of issues being debated in the campaign this year.

Guatemala has invoked special powers to give security forces more latitude to break up the caravan, while Mexico tightened border sanitary checks and said it could imprison anyone who endangered the health of others for up to 10 years.

Authorities in Guatemala said on Friday morning 108 migrants had gone back to Honduras, and that rest of the caravan had split into two. One group headed for Guatemala’s Peten region, and the other for the Mexican border city of Tapachula, they said.

Social pressure has been building in Central America, where strict lockdowns have battered local economies and spread hunger, while some restrictions on freedom of movement that slowed traditional migrant flows toward the United States have recently been relaxed.

Adding to their discomfort, many of the migrants had to spend Thursday night in the open because churches and other shelters remain closed because of coronavirus risks.

  3. OT/ ~ I sign off now for Sukkot ~
“There is ample argument that Thanksgiving is modeled on the ancient Israelite celebration of the biblical holiday Sukkot, which was the harvest, and on the bikurim, the first fruit offering made starting on Shavuot.

The Puritans, who settled in New England, were the first people to celebrate our Thanksgiving. They were well versed in Bible and knew that Sukkot, translated as the Feast of Tabernacles or the Feast of Booths, was the harvest holiday. They also knew that it was celebrated during the fall season. The Puritans also saw themselves as the Israelites.

Today we would say they “identified” as Israelites. They compared their voyage across the Atlantic to the Children of Israel crossing the Red Sea; they viewed the tribulations and hardships of their first years in their new land as the time the Israelites spent wandering through the desert.

Their lives were dependent on nature, on rain and on sun. And they expressed their gratitude by way of a feast. Think bikurim, Puritan-style.…”

  4. Erdogan’s Plan to Take Over the Palestinian Authority

On September 21, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas phoned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and requested that Turkey send Turkish observers to monitor Palestinian elections, if and when they are held.

The phone call came as Turkey hosted a meeting between Abbas’s ruling Fatah faction and the Iran-backed Hamas movement. At the meeting, the Fatah and Hamas reportedly agreed to hold long overdue elections for the PA presidency and parliament, the Palestine Legislative Council (PLC).

Abbas’s request surprised many Palestinians and Arabs, especially in the wake of charges that Erdogan had forged the 2018 presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey. Shortly after the voting ended, thousands of Twitter users launched a hashtag called #Erdogan_forged_election, accusing him of rigging the elections.

This was not the first time that Erdogan has been accused of election fraud. In 2014, Turkey’s opposition accused Erdogan’s party of rigging the country’s local elections.

What we are witnessing is an Arab autocrat (Abbas) seeking the help of a Muslim autocrat (Erdogan) in holding “free and fair” elections. Abbas, it seems, is confident that Erdogan’s observers would rubber-stamp the results of any Palestinian election to ensure that the PA president emerges victorious.

  8. Yemeni Court Sentences Trump, King Salman, MBS to Death
    https://www.tasnimnews.com/en/news/2020/10/01/2360904/yemeni-court-sentences-trump-king-salman-mbs-to-death

“A court in Yemen’s northwestern province of Sa’ada province handed down death penalties to 10 people, including the Saudi king and the US president, over their involvement in the massacre of dozens of Yemeni students two years ago.

The Specialized First Instance Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced the defendants to death in absentia after finding them guilty of complicity in the Saudi-led airstrike on a bus carrying Yemeni schoolchildren in August 2018, Yemen’s Saba news agency reported.

The school bus came under attack by Saudi-led warplanes in a market in the town of Dahyan in Sa’ada. At least 50 civilians, mainly school kids, were killed and nearly 80 others were injured.

Among the convicts are Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Yemen’s former Riyadh-allied president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi and US President Donald Trump.

The lists also includes Saudi Prince Turki bin Bandar bin Mohammed bin Abdurahman Al Saud, former US secretary of defense James Mattis and other former American and Yemeni officials.

According to the ruling issued in the session presided over by the court Chief Judge Riyadh al-Ruzami, the convicts are obliged to pay a fine of 10 billion dollars to the families of the victims.

Saudi Arabia launched a devastating bin Salman-led campaign against its southern neighbor in March 2015 in collaboration with a number of its allied states, and with arms support from the US and a number of other Western countries.

The aim was to return to power the Riyadh-backed former regime of Hadi and defeat the Houthi Ansarullah movement that has taken control of state matters since the resignation of the then president and his government.

The war failed to achieve its goals, but has taken a heavy toll on the country’s infrastructure, destroying hospitals, schools, and factories.

The UN refers to the situation in Yemen as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, with more than half of hospitals and clinics destroyed or closed.”

  10. Three Ahmadiyya community members arrested after LHC rejects bail
    https://tribune.com.pk/story/2266686/three-ahmadiyya-community-members-arrested-after-lhc-rejects-bail

“LAHORE: The Punjab police arrested three members of the Ahmadiyya community accused of using Islamic symbols and practices at their place of worship, after the Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed their pre-arrest bails on Friday.

The court also rejected the petitioner’s plea seeking an FIR to be registered against witnesses and complainant who entered into their place of worship without permission.

Complainant Hafiz Farman Ali, on May 3, 2020, got an FIR registered against the accused in Mangatanwala district Nankana Sahib under sections 298-B and 298-C Pakistan Penal Code PPC.

Petitioners Tahir Nakkash, Akbar Ali and Sharafat Ahmad had filed an application for pre-arrest bails in the LHC, contending that they had been implicated in a forged FIR even though they have nothing to do with this case.

They maintained that they had not committed any offence and had been roped in the case with malafide intentions and ulterior motive.

They further observed that they had earlier filed bail applications in sessions court of Nankana Sahib but, on August 7, 2020 their bails were dismissed due to their absence from court. The petitioner’s cited the court’s atmosphere turning extremely grim as the reason for not showing up in court.

There were serious security concerns for the petitioners after an alleged Ahmadi was killed in the courtroom as police produced him before the court, the petitioners’ stated.

The police had no justification to arrest the petitioners, and in the circumstances of this case, the arrest of the petitioners would be the violation of the fundamental rights of the petitioners as guaranteed under Articles 9 and 10-A of the constitution.

On the other hand, the complainant counsel, advocate Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi argued that the accused had committed a heinous offence by using Islamic symbols and practices.

They prayed to the court that the evidence was on record that the accused had constructed their place of worship similar to a mosque ,merely to deceive the Muslims and hurt their sentiments.

According to the prosecution, the people present on the occasion also saw Quran’s verses painted on walls of the worship place. Copies of the Quran were also placed.

According to the judgment of the country’s top court, those (Ahmaddiya community members) who will use the first Kalma would be considered blasphemers.”

  11. Azerbaijan liberated many lands from Armenia: Turkish president
    https://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/azerbaijan-liberated-many-lands-from-armenia-turkish-president-158797

“Azerbaijan’s military has successfully liberated manly lands in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region, President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an said Oct. 2.

“Armenia encountered an unexpected result. The Azerbaijani army, which is now advancing successfully on the front, has rescued many places from occupation,” Erdo?an said at a ceremony in the Central Anatolian province of Konya.

Reiterating that Turkey will stand by Baku with all its capacity, Erdo?an said Azerbaijan’s struggle would continue until Nagorno-Karabakh is liberated.

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu discussed the ongoing Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, on Oct. 1.

Çavu?o?lu told Lavrov that a ceasefire would be meaningless without a permanent solution, namely, Armenia’s complete withdrawal from all lands that are internationally recognized as Azerbaijani territory, a Turkish diplomatic source said.

According to the foreign minister, even if fighting stops today, clashes would simply resume later, the source quoted.

Lavrov and Çavu?o?lu confirmed in a phone call that they were ready for “close coordination” to stabilize the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Russia said Oct. 1.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said both ministers confirmed a “readiness for close coordination of the actions of Russia and Turkey to stabilize the situation with the aim of returning the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to the channel of peace talks.”

Meanwhile, Çavu?o?lu said Armenia must retreat from Nagorno-Karabakh in order to declare a ceasefire.

“We want this problem to be resolved peacefully and within the framework of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. Azerbaijan has the necessary power to take its lands. Armenia must withdraw from these occupied territories for a ceasefire,” Çavu?o?lu said at a press conference with his Italian counterpart, Luigi Di Maio, noting that if Azerbaijan demands support from Ankara, Turkey would not hesitate to help.

In efforts to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Çavu?o?lu accused the Minsk Group of taking sides. “It is against international law to equate the one who is occupied with the occupier.”

The OSCE Minsk Group, co-chaired by France, Russia, and the United States, was formed in 1992 to find a peaceful solution to the conflict, but it has failed in its endeavors so far. Both countries, however, did agree to a ceasefire in 1994.”

  12. Turkey: 13 suspects arrested for FETO links
    https://www.aa.com.tr/en/turkey/turkey-13-suspects-arrested-for-feto-links/1993351

“At least 13 suspects were arrested in Turkey for alleged links to the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind the 2016 defeated coup, a security source said on Friday.

Prosecutors in northwestern Balikesir province issued arrest warrants for nine active police officers, a sergeant, a retired teacher, a veterinarian, and a health technician, said the source, requesting anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

They were all arrested in operations by anti-terror police teams in six different provinces, the source added.

A gun and multiple digital materials were also seized during the operations.

FETO and its US-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup on July 15, 2016, in which 251 people were martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

Turkey accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.”

  13. 171 terrorists ‘neutralized’ across Turkey in September
    https://www.aa.com.tr/en/turkey/171-terrorists-neutralized-across-turkey-in-september/1993938

“A total of 171 terrorists were “neutralized” across Turkey in September, the deputy interior minister announced on Friday.

Among terrorists neutralized last month in domestic operations were 12 listed by Turkey among most-wanted terrorists, Ismail Catakli, also spokesman for the ministry, said during a monthly news conference in the capital Ankara.

Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralize” to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.

Members of various terror groups, including some key figures of the PKK terrorist group, terrorists affiliated with the outlawed far-left terror groups Turkish Communist Party/Marxist-Leninist (TKP/ML), and People’s Liberation Party-Front of Turkey (THKP-C), were neutralized in 10,229 operations in rural areas and 1,425 operations in cities.

“Among them was Ercan Bayat of THKP-C who was responsible for the 2013 Reyhanli bombing and captured alive,” Catakli said.

The May 2013 bombings in Reyhanli, near Turkey’s border with Syria, left 53 dead. Some 912 buildings, 891 workplaces and 148 vehicles were also heavily damaged in the attack.

On the fight against drug trafficking, Catakli said almost 14,500 anti-narcotics operations were held last month to detain nearly 20,000 suspects, including some 1,500 remanded in custody. He also said over 22 tons of marijuana, some 2 tons of heroin and more than 17 million roots of cannabis were seized.”

  14. UN urges action to address horrors faced by migrants in Med
    http://www.ansamed.info/ansamed/en/news/sections/politics/2020/10/02/un-urges-action-to-address-horrors-faced-by-migrants-in-med_f4b64018-2dd8-4658-bfd6-68a8eda9deeb.html

“The UN Human Rights Office is calling for urgent action to address the dire situation of migrants attempting to cross the central Mediterranean Sea in search of safety in Europe and to tackle the shocking conditions they face in Libya, at sea, and – frequently – upon their reception in Europe.

According to a statement posted on the website of the UN agency, ”a team dispatched by the UN Human Rights Office to monitor the situation of migrants transiting through Libya, highlighted a cycle of violence whereby people who had faced unimaginable horrors in Libya were left to drift for days at sea, had their boats dangerously intercepted and were returned to suffer arbitrary detention, torture and other serious human rights violations in Libya, which cannot be considered a safe port for migrants.” The team interviewed 76 migrants.

Many reported being intercepted on previous sea crossings by the Libyan Coast Guard, including having their boats rammed or shot at, causing vessels to capsize or people to jump into the water in desperation. There were also reports that on at least one occasion the Armed Forces of Malta attempted to push a migrant boat back towards Libya, and on another occasion attempted to push a boat with migrants in the direction of the Italian island of Lampedusa, according to the statement.

Some migrants reported that commercial vessels did not come to their assistance, while others said commercial ships picked them up but returned them to Libya where they ended up in detention centres. If true, these are serious allegations of failure to assist people in distress at sea and possible coordinated push-backs that should be duly investigated, the UN body said.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said that:”What is happening to migrants in Malta – and elsewhere in Europe – is the result of a failed system of migration governance, one that fails to place the human rights of migrants and refugees at the centre and for too long has been marked by a lack of solidarity forcing frontline states such as Malta to bear the brunt of the responsibility.” “I urge the European Union and its Member States to ensure its Pact on Migration and Asylum addresses these challenges head on and results in a truly common and principled approach that ensures the respect and protection of the human rights of migrants and refugees,” she said. 15. Eric Zemmour: Unaccompanied Minors in France Are ‘Rapists, Murderers’
    https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2020/10/321475/eric-zemmour-unaccompanied-minors-in-france-are-rapists-murderers/

“Polarizing French “philosopher” and writer Eric Zemmour believes France should send unaccompanied minors back to their home countries: “They should not even come.”

Describing immigrant minors as “rapists,” “murderers,” and “thieves” during a CNews appearance on Thursday, the polemicist directed his rage to the French government.

“It is up to the government not to take the risk and not to let [unaccompanied minors] in,” he stressed. Zemmour proposed that France abolish its asylum and family reunification procedures.

Unaccompanied minors in France cost the country billions of euros per year and increase delinquency and crime, he claimed.

“I am not making up anything,” he insisted. “It is in all the papers, in all media, police keep saying it and the Ministry of Interior says the same.”

He continued, “In the neighborhood where I grew up, Goutte d’Or, residents tell me life has become untenable on account of these youngsters who steal and harass everyone.”

Located in the 18th district of Paris, Goutte d’Or is home to a large immigrant population, mostly from North African and sub-Saharan countries. Some 35% of the community is foreign-born, according to RMX News.

    Moroccan minors in France
Eric Zemmour called to pressure countries such as Morocco by threatening to suppress aid so they better prevent migration and stem the flow of unaccompanied minors to Europe.

Several thousand unaccompanied Moroccan minors live in France. In an interview on September 23, French Minister of Interior Gerald Darmanin underlined “the difficulty, in particular, of unaccompanied Moroccan minors in Paris.”

Read also: France’s Eric Zemmour: Moroccan Migrants Ignite Terrorism, Anti-Semitism
He said French officials are constantly engaged with their counterparts in North Africa to find solutions to the situation of undocumented migrants and unaccompanied minors in Europe, stressing that migration issues can only be resolved at the European level.

In August, French politician Florian Bachelier said that talks are ongoing between Morocco and France to create a training and care center for Moroccan minors in France.

    France’s anti-immigration rage
Eric Zemmour’s distaste for unaccompanied minors did not surprise the CNews host or the other guests on the show. The author is well-known in France for his anti-immigrant and xenophobic rhetoric.

Last week, he said on CNews that “immigration changes the makeup of a people. It is a crime against the European peoples, it will end in bloodshed.”

His latest comments come as France’s far-right attempts to politicize the latest attack on Charlie Hebdo and use the act of violence as an argument against immigration.

On September 25, a Pakistani immigrant carried out a terrorist attack in the form of a stabbing outside what he believed were still the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. The suspect migrated to France in 2018 and claimed to be younger than he really was.

Soon after, National Rally leader Marine Le Pen called on France to deport all unaccompanied minors to their home countries.”

  16. All unaccompanied migrant minors should be deported from France, says philosopher Éric Zemmour
    https://rmx.news/article/article/all-unaccompanied-minors-should-be-deported-from-france-says-philosopher-eric-zemmour

“The unaccompanied minor immigrants in France not only cost the state huge amounts of money, they are also a major source of delinquency and crime, French philosopher and essayist Éric Zemmour said while speaking on French news channel CNews.

“Among the these minors, some 40,000 to 50,000 a year cost us [in France] billions [of euros], and feature an enormous delinquency. I never said they are all delinquents, all I said was that a great many of them are,” Zemmour said.

“I am not making up anything: it is in all the papers, in all media, police keeps saying it and the Ministry of Interior says the same,” Zemmour said. “In the neighborhood I grew up, Goutte d’Or, residents tell me life has become untenable on account of these youngsters who steal and harass everyone.”

Goutte d’Or is a neighborhood in Paris’ 18th district and features a large proportion — 35 percent of people — of immigrant origin, mostly from North Africa and the sub-Saharan region.

“I continue to maintain that all of them should be returned home. I’m not saying all delinquents, but all unaccompanied minors, and I stick to this position,” Zemmour said. “The French government has a responsibility with regard to these delinquents (…) on account of the security threat they represent to France.”

He added that humanitarian considerations also justify his position: “For humanitarian, human reasons (…) when there is a child who is lost and without his parents, they must be sent back to their parents.”

National Rally leader Marine Le Pen has also called for all unaccompanied minors to be deported from France to their home countries, saying they represent a security risk. Her demand comes shortly after a Pakistani migrant carried out a terrorist attack outside what he believed were the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo last week in Paris. The man — whose Pakistani father has praised his actions — lied about his name and age when he migrated to France in 2018. He is actually 25 years old instead of the 18 he told authorities.

The attack has only fueled the immigration debate in France. With Europe’s largest Muslim population, the country now has one out of every five newborns given Arab-Muslim names in a sign that the country is experiencing rapid demographic transformation.

Last week, Zemmour, who is Jewish, said on CNews, said that “immigration changes the makeup of a people. It is a crime against the European peoples, it will end in bloodshed.”

Zemmour is the author of “The French Suicide” and is known for his strong opposition against continued immigration to France. In a previous interview, he compared immigration in his country to a “demographic tsunami” and said he believes current immigration and integration policies have failed. He worked for the French channel RTL from 2010 to 2019.”

  19. (Richard: Here is an example on where the west is headed if we don’t return to the rule of law and start enforcing the laws equally against everyone. In the Town or Village of Hathras India two men (for lack of a better word) gang raped a 19 year old Dalit (Untouchble) girl and put her into a rickshaw and sent her home. The girls family took her to the hospital but she died, the police broke tradition and cremated the body very quickly. The girl is suppose to have given a report that said she was raped but the quick autopsy done before the hurried cremation said she wasn’t raped. One of the top police officials was caught on video threatening the girls family for complaining about about the girls death and the quick cremation.

Two men have been arrested but with the cremation of the body and the autopsy report there is no evidence. The two men are suppose to be from one of the higher casts in India. Do a youtube search to find a lot of videos about what is turning into a national scandal which all of political parties are politicizing.

One Group (who may or may not be tied into the international antifa network have started a Dalit Lives Matter organization and appear to be trying to turn this into a major political issue. Given the Chinese backing of BLM and related groups I am wondering if the DLM movement is also backed by China.
