Reader’s links for September 8, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

An alleged witness to the fatal shooting of right-wing protester Aaron Jay Danielson in Portland said he and Danielson were “hunted” by apparent left-wing Antifa members after they were spotted wearing Patriot Prayer hats.

“We’ve got a couple of ’em right here, pull it out, pull it out!” the alleged witness recounted them saying, during an interview posted to YouTube by The Common Sense Conservative on Saturday.

  2. Turkey and Iran vow to target PKK in joint military operations
    https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/turkey-and-iran-vow-target-pkk-joint-military-operations

“Turkey and Iran have agreed to target the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and its affiliates in joint military operations, following high-level video conference talks attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President Hassan Rouhani.

Tuesday’s statement was the first in recent years where Iran has publicly announced that it would go after the PKK and its Iranian affiliate the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) in joint operations with Ankara.

“Both sides emphasised that it is incumbent upon both countries to fully utilise the existing cooperation mechanisms against the activities of PKK/PJAK elements and the other terrorist organisations along the common borders,” said the declaration.

“And to take coordinated steps for a result-oriented cooperation, including joint operations, in countering terrorism and organised crime.”

Turkey has fought a guerilla war with the PKK since 1984, when the organisation first launched its armed campaign to carve out an independent Kurdish state (it now claims to instead want greater autonomy)…”

  3. Amnesty says Malta using ‘dangerous and illegal’ measures against migrants
    https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/malta-migrants-dangerous-illegal-measures-amnesty

“Amnesty International has accused Malta of using “dangerous and illegal” measures against migrants and refugees arriving at sea from North Africa.

The rights group said the approach taken by the Maltese government might have led to “avoidable deaths”, in a report that alleged a string of human rights abuses against migrants.

“The Maltese government has resorted to dangerous and illegal measures for dealing with the arrivals of refugees and migrants at sea,” Amnesty said.

“This escalation of tactics included arranging unlawful pushbacks to Libya, diverting boats towards Italy rather than rescuing people in distress and illegally detaining hundreds of people in ill-equipped ferries off Malta’s waters.

Amnesty’s report was released hours after UN rights agencies on Monday called on Malta and the European Union to end the latest humanitarian crisis on board a cargo ship, the Maersk Etienne, off the Maltese coast, on which 27 migrants are currently stranded since being rescued more than a month ago…”

  4. Australian women, children ‘abducted’ from Syria refugee camp: reports
    https://english.alaraby.co.uk/english/news/2020/9/8/australian-women-children-abducted-from-syria-refugee-camp-reports

“Australian women and children were abducted from a camp in northern Syria housing tens of thousands of female supporters of the Islamic State [IS] group and their children, Australian media reported on Tuesday.

Five women and 14 children were forcibly removed after a midnight raid on the camp, Australian national Kamalle Dabboussy, whose daughter Mariam and grandchildren are in the camp, told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).
Dabboussy said his daughter was not abducted, but he had been unable to reach her.

A spokesman for families of Al-Hol’s Australian detainees said the women were strip-searched and handcuffed before being led away in front of their children, according to ABC.

The abductees were taken away in a white van, with the identities of their captors remaining unknown, The Guardian reported.

According to the United Nations, at least 74,000 people languish at the Al-Hol camp…”

    • languish at the Al-Hol camp…
They came to colonize Syria, rape and pillage the natives.
Imperialism is not as easy as it must have seemed when they studied it in woke Western schools. The natives won this round, tough luck.

These “languishing” camp followers have a chance of going “home”. The victims of their jihadi tourism have nothing. The UN should busy itself with organizing reparations, or stfu.

  6. UN decries attacks on journalists, activists in Pakistan
    https://tribune.com.pk/story/2263125/un-decries-attacks-on-journalists-activists-in-pakistan

“The United Nation voiced alarm on Tuesday at growing attacks on journalists and activists in Pakistan, urging Islamabad to protect those facing threats and investigate any violence.

The UN rights office said it was growing increasingly concerned at numerous instances of incitement to violence, both online and off, particularly against women and minority journalists and activists, as well as physical attacks.

It pointed to the case of journalist Shaheena Shaheen, who was shot dead last Saturday by unidentified men in Balochistan’s Kech district. And last year, four journalists and bloggers were killed in Pakistan in connection with their reporting.

“In the vast majority of such cases, those responsible have not been investigated, prosecuted and held to account,” rights office spokesman Rupert Colville told reporters in Geneva. He pointed out that women journalists in Pakistan last month had warned of a “coordinated campaign” of social media attacks against anyone who was critical of government policies.

Colville said the rights office had raised its concerns directly with the Pakistani government and had urged it to take “immediate, concrete steps to ensure the protection of journalists and human rights defenders who have been subjected to threats.”

“We also stress the need for prompt, effective, thorough and impartial investigations with a view to ensuring accountability in cases of violence and killings,” he said. The UN rights office had also called on the Pakistani leadership to “unequivocally condemn incitement to violence against religious minorities”, he said.”

  7. Islamic State library: Experts find tens of thousands of documents, including instructions for attacks
    https://rmx.news/article/article/islamic-state-library-experts-find-tens-of-thousands-of-documents-including-instructions-for-attacks

“How to become a better terrorist, and what is necessary for a successful attack on the West? Researchers at the Institute of Strategic Dialogue think tank have found instructions on such topics across the internet, along with tens of thousands of other documents related to the Islamic State terrorist organization.

Despite the territorial defeat of the Islamists, their digital library seems to be thriving.

Researchers at the institute called the extensive collection of propaganda materials “The Caliphate Cache“. The first clue to the secret library was obtained after the death of the leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr Baghdadi, last autumn, the BBC wrote.

They noticed that social media contributors claiming to belong to IS began publishing posts with a shortened link, which led one researcher to documents and videos in nine languages, revealing the actual size of the “Islamic State Library.”

Now, there are over 90,000 copies of IS documents on several servers. In addition to religious texts and extremist ideology, these are also highly idealized descriptions of what life in an Islamic state looks like. According to the BBC, it is likely that many of the documents were seen by the girls who then went to Syria and Iraq to marry a selected terrorist.

The library also contains specific instructions for killing innocent people, including poisoning them with common over-the-counter pharmaceuticals.

“If you want to buy too much aspirin, the pharmacist will ask you questions,” advises one of the documents, which then recommends choosing a different tactic.

The library also allows Islamists from all over the world to learn practical details from past terrorist attacks deemed to be “successful”, such as the one from London in 2005 or Manchester three years ago. For example, one document describes how ten kilograms of explosives were needed for the attack in the London Underground and London’s bus routes.

“There’s everything you need to know to plan and carry out an attack,” said Moustafa Ayad, who discovered the entire collection. “They will teach you how to be a better terrorist.”

However, it is difficult to close the digital library because it is not in one place.

Despite anti-terrorism units in Great Britain and the United States being aware of the library, content for the organization is expanding every month and reportedly visited by about 10,000 unique users, mainly young men from Arab countries.

They can spread terrorist propaganda without major problems, and internet bots do the same. In addition, Islamists target popular accounts on social networks, trying to hack them, so that they can use them to spread their ideas.

So far, for example, they have seized the account of one of the fans of pop star Justin Bieber. In another case, the English rugby team was forced to follow an Islamist account on Twitter, which pretended to be a sports enthusiast.

In the meantime, a new magazine known as Ahul-Taqwa began fighting Islamist propaganda last summer. It looks like a copy of the Dabiq propaganda media outlet that was once used by the Islamic State to attract jihadists from the West. But its content is radically opposed to the ideology promoted by IS, and the magazine shows radicalized Muslims how Islamists have distorted their worldview.”

  9. Sweden: Man with Congolese citizenship accused of 19 robberies in Stockholm
    https://rmx.news/article/article/sweden-man-with-congolese-citizenship-accused-of-19-robberies-in-stockholm

“A migrant man in his 20s has been charged with robbery and attempted robbery of 19 young people in Stockholm, Sweden. According to the prosecutor, he already has Swedish citizenship and, thus, cannot be deported if convicted.

The crimes that the man is suspected of took place between January and July this year in central Stockholm. Since July 18, he has been in jail.

According to prosecutor Maximillian Berg Molin, the man acted alone when threatening young people with violence while robbing them of their belongings, mainly mobile phones, but also headphones, clothes, and cash. His actions have been captured on surveillance cameras at ATMs and metro stations.

All victims of the perpetrator were born between 2002 and 2006, however, prosecutor Berg Molin said that the jailed man denies committing any crime.

Berg Molin further noted that the man has both Swedish and Congolese citizenship, which means he cannot be deported. He received Swedish citizenship at birth. When the Nyheter Idag online daily asked about the man the Swedish Tax Agency, the office stated that although the perpetrator was born in Sweden, he is only a citizen of Congo.

The prosecutor responded to this, stating that the man has been in Sweden for so long that it is not possible to get him deported based on the current legislation.

The man already has six criminal convictions on his record, including assault, robbery, and assault in court.

Rising crime linked to Sweden’s migrant community has been a major topic in the country’s press, with a number of cities like Stockholm and Gothenburg seeing an increase in gang crime, shooting deaths, bombings, and stabbings.”

  10. How many murders in Germany are committed by refugees? The government refuses to say
    https://rmx.news/article/article/how-many-murders-in-germany-are-committed-by-refugees-the-government-refuses-to-say

“Germany has experienced a number of high-profile murders of young women in recent years at the hands of migrant men who entered Germany following the 2015 migrant wave. While the cases made headlines, true statistics involving how many murders refugees and migrants have been responsible for remains elusive.

Some of the most well-known cases involve 19-year-old medical student Maria Landenburger, who was raped and drowned in Freiburg by a refugee as well as 15-year-old Mia Valentin, who was murdered by an Afghan asylum seeker after she broke off their relationship. There is also the case of Susanna Feldman, a 14-year-old German-Jewish girl murdered by an Iraqi migrant.

In addition, the terrorist attack at Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz Christmas Market was also perpetrated by a refugee, Anis Amri, who entered Germany with over the 1.8 million refugees admitted to the country since 2015.

To this day, however, the exact number of people who have been killed by asylum seekers and refugees since 2015 is unknown. Although the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has published data in its annual report on “Crime in the context of immigration”, it does not contain exact data on the perpetrators, including their nationality, their residence status and when they entered the country.

The report only addresses those migrants that arrived as refugees in Germany as of 2015 and not many of the other migrant groups, such as Germany’s large Turkish community, many of which arrived before 2015.

There are still some hints of how many murders are perpetrated by migrants, but little details about each crime. For example, the BKA has indicated that Germans are much more likely to be the victim of crime perpetrated by a migrant than the other way around despite migrants making up a far smaller share of the population.

A 2019 report from the BKA states that “In the area of ??murder, manslaughter, and contract killings, 230 Germans fell victim to a crime in which at least one suspect immigrant was involved.” This was an increase of 105 percent compared to 2017, which saw 112 such cases.

“Of these, 102 people were victims of an accomplished deed,” the report states.

Although refugees who arrived in Germany only make up only 2 percent of the population, they account for nearly 15 percent of all violent crime, as of 2019. Overall, foreigners and immigrants combined accounted for nearly 40 percent of murders suspects in Germany in 2019.

Negative consequences of Germany’s asylum policy
An Alternative for Deutschland member of the Bundestag, Harald Weyel, has asked the federal government for all the data on the five-year anniversary of Merkel’s decision to open Germany’s borders in 2015.

Specifically, he wanted to know from the government how many fatalities there had been after crimes “in which the suspects or the convicted perpetrators were tolerated refugees, asylum seekers, quota refugees or refugees with subsidiary protection status who had been in the country since Sept. 1, 2015”.

The answer from the responsible Federal Ministry of the Interior, which Junge Freiheit has received, was extremely short: “The federal government has no statistical information on the constellation mentioned in the question.”

State Secretary Hans-Georg Engelke referred Junge Freiheit to the above-mentioned BKA report for additional information.

Weyel sees the non-response as a sign that the federal government does not want to deal with the negative consequences of the wave of asylum.

“When it comes to cheering reports of an alleged new immigrant economic miracle, or to protecting refugees from supposed blanket judgments and general suspicions, [Chancellor Angela Merkel] and her ministers always have exact data figures. But if you ask about the victims of mass immigration, suddenly no data exists. It seems that the government doesn’t care about the deadly consequences of its asylum policy,” Weyel told Junge Freiheit.

In other cases, however, it makes every effort to adequately honor the victims of deadly violence. For example, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas (SPD) tweeted the first names of the nine victims half a year after the attack in Hanau in mid-August, supplemented with the promise that they would never be forgotten.

“A similar gesture on the anniversary of the Amri attack, on the other hand, is in vain. Apparently there are first- and second-class victims for Mr. Maas,” said Weyel, who was referring to the 12 victims of Berlin’s Christmas market attack.”
