1. Muslim Egyptian migrant holds knife to throat of guard at Italian Cathedral.

A man armed with a knife momentarily took a guard hostage inside Milan’s cathedral on Wednesday but was quickly arrested, police said.

He entered the famous Gothic Duomo shortly after 1pm local time and “advanced towards the private security guard, took out a knife and threatened him,” police spokesman Marco Turchetto told AFP.

After the arrival of nearby officers on patrol and a brief mediation, the man dropped the knife and was arrested, he said.

Milan’s Deputy Mayor Anna Scavuzzo said in a statement the man had entered the cathedral in order to evade a police check.

2. Major riots in Bangalore India, apparently over a facebook post. Just stepping out on a limb here, but at a guess, a muslim was offended by something true about Islam.

Attack on Police Station, Bangalore. Apparently it was over a Facebook post that referenced the Islamic prophet Mohammad.

  2. The group gathered was reportedly led by Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), which is the political outfit of the Islamic fundamentalist organisation, Popular Front of India resulting in few leaders getting arrested the following day along with 100 others.[14][15][9][16]
    On the night of 11 August 2020, violent clashes took place in eastern Bangalore, Karnataka, India.[7] The clashes started around the residence of Akhanda Srinivas Murthy, a state legislator of the Indian National Congress and later spread to the police stations of KG Halli and DJ Halli.[8] Provoked by a derogatory post on Muhammad allegedly shared by the nephew of the legislator,[9] a group of people arrived at his house in protest against the remarks which turned violent.[10] They torched the Murthy’s residence and damaged more than 300 vehicles using petrol bombs and stones.[11][12] Bangalore City Police were immediately deployed to control the situation and curfew was imposed in Banaswadi police station limits. The incident resulted in the death of at least 3 people in police firing while injuring 60 police personnel during the clashes.[13]
