UBC sued for cancelling Andy Ngo: Links 1, July 29, 2020

1. It turns out if protestors attack a Democrat, they will get caught and arrested.

Two women accused of assaulting a Wisconsin state senator as he took photos of a crowd that toppled two statues during a protest last month have been arrested, police said.

State Sen. Tim Carpenter, a Democrat from Milwaukee, was attacked in Madison on June 24 as he pointed his phone at a group of protesters who tore down two statues on Capitol grounds. He was repeatedly punched and kicked in the head and later required surgery for his wounds, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

“I don’t know what happened … all I did was stop and take a picture … and the next thing I’m getting five, six punches, getting kicked in the head,” Carpenter told the newspaper last month.

Two people within the “angry mob” that allegedly attacked Carpenter, identified by police as Samantha Hamer, 26, and Kerida O’Reilly, 33, both of Madison, surrendered to cops Monday. Both are now facing charges of substantial battery as a party to a crime and robbery with use of force as a party to a crime, police said Monday. […]

A nearby reporter told police roughly 10 people proceeded to kick and punch Carpenter as he “tried to explain” that he was an ally to the demonstrators, police said.

The assault took place just after a Molotov cocktail was tossed into a government office in Madison, where protesters also tore down two statues, including one of Col. Hans Christian Heg, an abolitionist who died while fighting for the Union in the Civil War.

(The statue they tore down was of an abolitionist, showing once again this is about Winston Smithism, not about historical treatment of Africans)

2. UBC sued for violating free speech, cancelling Andy Ngo speaking event

(Hark! Could this be good news?)

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) is suing the University of British Columbia for its cancellation of a speaking engagement by TPM editor-at-large Andy Ngo. A Petition for Judicial Review was filed Monday morning.

The event entitled “Understanding Antifa Violence” was organized by the Free Speech Club and was supposed to take place in January of 2020. The JCCF issued a press release that read:

“The Free Speech Club confirmed the Andy Ngo event booking with UBC, signed the contract and paid the required booking deposit. However, in December 2019, the UBC suddenly pulled the plug on the event without notice.”

JCCF lawyer Marty Moore said, “UBC cancelled the Ngo event in an arbitrary and secretive fashion, in violation of  its own commitments to respect ‘the right to freedom of expression’ and to uphold students’ and visitors’ right to ‘engage in full and unrestricted consideration of any opinion.’ It is unreasonable and unconscionable for a public institution to cancel an event on the basis that the speaker has been a victim of violence.”

5. Chicago Tribune: What happened to an America where you could freely speak your mind?

The angry left-handed broom of America’s cultural revolution uses fear to sweep through our civic, corporate and personal life.

It brings with it attempted intimidation, shame and the usual demands for ceremonies of public groveling.

It is happening in newsrooms in New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles. And now it’s coming for me, in an attempt to shame me into silence.

Here’s what happened:

Last week, with violence spiking around the country, I wrote a column on the growing sense of lawlessness in America’s urban areas.

In response, the Tribune newspaper union, the Chicago Tribune Guild, which I have repeatedly and politely declined to join, wrote an open letter to management defaming me, by falsely accusing me of religious bigotry and fomenting conspiracy theories.

Newspaper management has decided not to engage publicly with the union. So I will.

For right now, let’s deal with facts. My July 22 column was titled “Something grows in the big cities run by Democrats: An overwhelming sense of lawlessness.”

It explored the connections between soft-on-crime prosecutors and increases in violence along with the political donations of left-wing billionaire George Soros, who in several states has funded liberal candidates for prosecutor, including Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx.

7. Ontario teen worked with attack planner in Syria to plot bombings for ISIS

A teenager admitted in Ontario court on Tuesday he had pledged allegiance to the so-called Islamic State and worked with an attack planner based in Syria to plot bombings.

From his home in Kingston, the Syrian-Canadian youth collaborated through social media with a figure known as “Abu Umar Ibrahim,” who encouraged him and guided his bomb-making.

Nightclubs, churches and sporting venues were discussed as possible targets. While he was preoccupied with bombs, police also found materials referring to poisons, vehicular attacks and burning people inside their homes.

“All those ways are good to kill Christians,” according to an audio file uncovered by police.

The youth, who was 16 at the time and cannot be named because he is a minor, pleaded guilty to four terrorism offences and breaching his release conditions by removing his ankle monitor.

(Pretty sure the magnitude and nature of his crimes would let him be tried as an adult. Lots and lots of 16 year olds are for far less serious offences. Or are they trying to avoid another 10M$ payout?)

10. It seems that many in Quebec are aware that those who call themselves “Journalists” are in fact not there to report on events or even to give both sides of the story so much as reenforce a narrative that always leans left.

(I have witnessed on multiple occasions, protests by hard working Canadians who were demonstrating against harsh laws that limit all our most fundamental freedoms like Freedom of Speech. Well trained CBC ‘reporters’ would show up and ask questions so that after an edit, all those people would look like angry white males defending racist points of view, or just kooks. I watched the interviews live right on the hill. The reporter never asked why the person was there, what their particular issue was or anything a journalist should do. Just asked questions that put the inexperienced, non-media-savvy Canadians in a position where they had to stammeringly try and prove they weren’t ‘racist’. More recently, CBC crews have little to no identifying marks on them outside a little sticker on the camera which they point at if you ask them. At Quebec anti-mandatory mask demos, the reportage we have posted at this site show more than a little bias against the protestors. So it’s no surprise they are being treated with contempt. They worked very hard to earn it.)

Thank you M., Tania Groth, Johnny U., PC., Sassy, Richard, Wrath of Khan, Chris Jones, Rich, George Igler, Xanthippa, and many more.

We cannot preserve or more accurately, recover our freedoms and culture if we don’t fight back. This is no longer a passive struggle as the anti-state includes the media and many components of government. Merit is cancelled in more and more aspects of life with race being the prime factor under the cynical disguise of ‘anti-racism’.  The increments by which Greek thought is being cancelled are coming faster and more obvious with less Frankfurt School paving over to cover it. This means its now easier to alert people formerly resistant to the fact on the ground than it was. We must take advantage of that on the information battlespace.

  1. This revolution was planned a long time ago and is now breaking out because the voters didn’t want Hillary and her radical ideas and corruption in the White House. This meant that Donald Trump won in 2016 and is undoing all that the left did to move the US to a communist nation. The left is changing from the long march to the violence because they know that given 2 terms Trump will force them to start over from the early 1900s in their quest for total power.

I’ve tried to find the exact meaning of the word “petard” but it’s not clear except that it’s some kind of trap or mine that you could set up and then get caught in yourself. I like to think of a “petard” as one of those rope-loop snares where you step in the loop, the trigger is pulled, and next thing you are hanging upside down from a tree, “Hoisted up by your own petard.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the Democrats were hoisted up by their own anti-hydroxychloroquine petard and it ended up costing them the entire election? If the Trump side can get the fact that the Dems have been preventing people from using a drug that literally saves lives just to spite Donald Trump a lot of people are going to realize what psychopathic bastards Nadler and Pelosi and the bunch truly are and vote against them in November. Let this be the “hydroxychloroquine election” and may it lead to the utter destruction of the murdering lying Democrats.

Oh, and somebody expose my favorite, Dr. Fauci, for whatever the hell he is. Right now he is the most important voice discrediting HCQ and he’s supposed to be on the level. Well, he’s not… Surprise!
